Delaying start of movie

I have a short movie that I want to load normally, without the play controller being visible, and then for it so start to play automatically, but not until about 5/10 sec or so after the page has opened. Can't seem to find a neat way of doing it. Any ideas, please?

I have a low tech solution: add about 1/2 second or so of blank video to the beginning of the movie. There may be a java script and HTML Snippet way of doing it and if anyone would know how it would be Cylcosaurus.

Delay start of a quicktime

Is there anyway to delay quicktime starting on a web page, like with an embed parameter? Controls like "volume", "loop", etc are so easy to work with, is there one for delay starting?

I still want it to run automatically but be able to adjust the start time. Can anyone explain how to use "starttime", here is the explanation, but I don't understand:

The frames component can be specified as a fixed point number so that more specific times can be specified for instance 3:30:22.5 means 3 minutes, 30 seconds and 22.5 frames.

Delayed start up - if start up at all

Sometimes my computer has delayed start up and somtimes it wont start up at all.
I saw that a lot of people had this start up problem too but all threads stopped in October. Does that mean you solved your probelm?
I am also experiencing the "black screen" problem after wake up.
Additionaly when I move my computer while in sleep mode with the lid closed it always wakes up.
So that's 3 problems
-Start up delayed or no start up at all
-Black screen after sleep
-Sleep mode defective
I had these problems before the latest firmware was released.
I installed the latest firmware but it has not sovled any of the above issues.
Is there any hope to get this fixed by Apple if I bring it back to the shop?

I actually had similar problems that you describe on my first gen MBP. Mine was solved by removing all peripherals (external usb devices, dvd/cds), then going into disk utility to repair disk permissions.
You might have to boot from your OSX dvd or a backup that has disk utility on it. You can't repair the disk if you have errors on it.

When I use my remote to start a movie on iTV it starts a different movie on my MacBook, plus if I use the arrow up or down on my remote it adjusts the sound on my MacBook. How do I stop this?

I am using 2nd generation Apple TV and have a MacBook Pro. When I use my remote to start a movie on iTV a different movie starts on my MacBook. Also when I use the up and down arrows on the remote it adjusts the sound on my MacBook. Is this something I have to live with, or is there something I can do so the remote control doesn't affect my laptop?

hi mate, sorry to hear about your experience. in this case, the fault may lie with the Nokia Care point's handling of your device. in this case you will need to persist with them until they either fix it or issue you with a replacement. else if they are not being conducive to the matter, then you will need to take up the issue with head office of Nokia in your region.

CmRcService Delayed Start (Remote Control Service)

Anyone know why Microsoft set the CmRcService service for a delayed start and not automatic? After a reboot of the remote computer, it is taking a few moments to connect. I am assuming that was done for a reason. Before I change the service on all of our
computers; does anyone know why they did that?

It's not just the Remote Control Service. CcmExec.exe (SMS Host Agent) is the same. They are simply not critical and IMO they start up quickly enough.

Zen (Agent) service delayed start

ZCM 10.3.3 on SLES 11 SP1, Windows XP and 7 ws's. One problem or thing I noticed long time. When device is restarted then even ZCC show ws in green and agent service is started on on ws it seems to that Agent Service start is not in effect ... delayed for minutes. I mean, when I have set something for setup on device boot then it takes some 10 minutes or so (depends on ws, but even fast one has delay) to start this installation (device is refreshed and app is cached). Also, most worrying for me is that on computer labs we use for students dynamic volatile profiles and we rely fully on Novell Application Launcher (from ZfD days) to get apps and when device is just (re)started student can login, but NAL window does not appear - empty Desktop. Something I can do about this delayed start or it is by design so.
Sorry, can't explain it more in details as every service on ws and server is ok as service. Just seems to on ws it does not take effect right away after ws is (re)started. Hope You understand what I mean.

Usually it (delayed service "wakeup") is not a problem as I start all ws's on site on workdays at morning and shut them down at evening. But, when on some reason user does restart ws (even shutdown/restart is removed as option for user, but ... sometimes hardware let You down etc.) or ws's is needed at weekends (also in computer rooms) then ... I'm little bit in trouble!

Oracle XE Listener Requiring Service To Be Set To 'Automatic (Delayed Start

Can anyone offer any insight/explanation as to why the Oracle Listener would require the service to be set to 'Automatic (Delayed Start)' When it is set to just automatic, it does not even try to start. No output to the listener log, and nothing to the event viewer. It is as if it never even tries to start. Once switched to 'Automatic (Delayed Start)' it works as expected. Additionally if you manually start the service due to it not starting automatically, it works fine as well.
OS: Windows 7 64BIT
Service is being run by the local system account and is set to allow to interact with desktop. -Local system account is part of the administrator group.

OS: Windows 7 64BITFirst point, win7 isn't on the 10g XE "supported OS" list. The installer is nearly as old as Firefox 1.0. Not to say folks haven't been able to get it working, plenty of other threads cover that topic.
Delayed start, auto start ... how critical is that functionality for your install? My suggestion, set it to Manual, and if you need the database, start the listener and then start the database service. If the database isn't needed keep your RAM and system resources available for other stuff.
Sorry can't be more helpful (esp. for win7, don't have it, don't use it, same for vista) but XE is more of a "playground" environment for test drives, kicking the tires, etc., a practice resource intended as an introduction to managing an oracle instance.
And always start the listener service first, that allows the database to register with the listener as it completes its startup processing. If startup goes the other way around, the Apex might not be immediately available, but a sqlplus system connection and `alter system register;` command will fix that.

Fast Start Quicktime Movies Wont Work

I dont know why Fast Start Quicktime movies wont work in iWeb. This exact same file I used in a site I created using Dreamweaver began the movie as soon as it reached a point where the entire movie could be viewed. Why not in iWeb?

For whatever reason, iWeb publishes the quicktime movies with the autostart attribute at "false". To enable autostart, you will need to edit the html file after publishing and set the autostart attribute to "true". Even though autostart may have been enabled within the movie encoding process ("in the file"), I believe that this property is allowed to be overridden by the html attributes within which the file is published.
There is a table of all the attributes that can be changed floating around here somewhere. Keep in mind that these post-publishing changes that you might make will be overwritten in any subsequent changes that you might make to the page within iWeb.

Delayed start of netweaver system

Since yesterday our SapNetweaver based Enterprise Portal has a huge delayed start. Normally it takes about 10min until the system is up & running.
Now it takes about 2 hours.
System: NetWeaver 7.30 SP8 on HPUX
In the Log dev_server0 are only garbage collection or some CMS entries between State changed from 2 (Starting framework) to 10 (Starting apps) and State changed from 10 (Starting apps) to 3 (Running).
No other log in /usr/sap/SID/InstanceNr/work directory is written while the systems starts (except for std_server0.out and available.log)
The default respectively the application log in /usr/sap/SID/Nr/j2ee/cluster/server0/log are not really helpful.
So has anyone a idea or a hint where i can find a useful entry in a log?

In most of the cases, the J2EE Engine spends most of the time in Starting Applications phase. IN order to diagnose the issue, you need to capture 4-5 thread dumps at an interval of 1 min each on all server nodes. Generally, most of the Application Threads are blocked by a thread. Once you find such thread, you need to diagnose in that direction. There can be long tunning DB calls which can block applications threads. The "SMS Agent Host" is set to Automatic (Delayed Start), and I have seen both it is okey to change it to "automatic" and not. I found an post that it should be okey to set it to "automatic"? Is there any issue to do so?

The remote control agent is separate from the SMS Agent host and can be changed to Automatic, see this previous thread.

The reason the SMS Agent host is set to delayed start is to not effect the startup time for the user..
