Delegating workflows as Admin

Hi,
Is it possible to delegate workflows as admin from BPELConsole?
In the Worklist Preferences, there is an option to set up vacation rules that delegates all incoming requests to someone else.
The same functionality can be done by an admin for a user who is the approver for a workflow.
The workflows are built in SOA 10.1.3.4
Thanks,
Preethi

Hi,
Found the way for this... We basically wanted the ADMIN to perform the workflow delegation. I was wrong in asking if this is possible from BPELConsole.. but the same was possible from Worklist.
By logging into the Worklist application as admin (oc4jadmin), one can see some the additional tabs. From the 'Manage Rules' tab, admin can delegate workflows for any user.
Thanks,
Preethi

does jes 2005q1 have a web based delegated admin facility?
does it match all the functionality of the iplanet delegated web based admin that was unfortunately not available for schema 2?
could anyone elaborate on what it does and doesn't cover (e.g. mailing lists, etc) compared to ida.
i attempted to wade thru the docco but it looked like it mainly mentioned commcli.
is there an install doc for it somewhere that works?

Is there something specific you're looking for? I would certainly expect to see it being able to provision users/groups. If there's something beyond that you need, I may be able to get you more data.

  • Delegation BPEL workflows as Admin

    Hi,
Is it possible to delegate a workflow as bpeladmin (or any admin)?
There is a feature in Preferences in Worklist, where a user can set up rules to delegate his/her workflows for a period of time.
I want to check if it is possible for an admin to do the same for a workflow from the BPELConsole.
Also, is it possible to reassign the task instances which are already in initiated stage through BPELConsole.
My BPEL workflows are built in SOA 10.1.3.4.
    Thanks,

  • Delegated administrator - Organisation admin login problem

We uninstalled delegated admin 6.0, and we installed 6.4. Now login to old organizations, created with the old DA (6.0), using the organization admin username and password fails, and login to new organizations created with the new DA (6.4), using the organization admin username and password succeeds. We think the problem is in ACIs. Anyone has an idea ?

Unknown. Not nearly enough data to guess.
Please examine your LDAP access logs, and comment.
You should be looking for BIND commands for "NDAdmin". This is the first step in logging into Delegated Admin. If this fails, no user will be able to use DA.
Do you have password expiration set up in DS? did you remove this account? Change the pw?

  • How to send E-Mail Notification executing through workflow?

    hi All
I want to send E-Mail Notification executing through workflow in MDM Data Manager?
I have tried it, But still i am unable to send E-Mail Notification?
i will explain, how i have tried?
    1) I have created the simple workflow with the following components
        they are in sequence
          start--> process-> notify--->stop
    2)  owner of the workflow is Admin and launcher of the workflow is Admin and i have given email id to the Default Admin user in the console.
    3) i have created another user (i.e. User2) with default roles as like as Admin and i have assigned User2 to the process component in workflow and I have created e-mail address for the User2 in the console.
    4) i have created another user(i.e.User1) with default roles as like as Admin. and give e-mail address, under the notify component User1 is selected in To Field.
    5) stop component as usual
coming to configuration part about the SMPT server in MDS.ini file
    1) in mds.ini file for the MailServer=, I have given SMTP Server name once and restarted the server and executed the workflow, but not worked
2)in mds.ini file for the MailServer=, i have given SMTP Server IP Address and checked the port, and we have configured the host file also and restarted the server and executed the worflow , but not worked

if any one have any solution for it , can you please explain me in step by step
    Thanks in Advance
    bharat.chinthapatla

    Hi Bharat,
your steps seems to be correct. Just try to ping your mail server, to verify if your mail server is running up, besides note that mdm go throw port 25 for sending emails, so please check if you are able to send emails using port 25 in your network.

  • Need help with a CUP workflow scenario

    Dear Experts,
I'm sure it is not just me encountered this required scenario (or something similar).  I would like some pointers how to transcript it to a CUP workflow:
Application admin logs a provisioning request.
Security creates a user account and provisioning the roles on QA.
Application admin ensures that the user undergoes training on QA.
Upon passing the training, security replicates the user account and role assignment on PRD.
The esoteric solution would be one request, two paths, two provisions. Is it somehow possible?
    Client doesn't use CUA.
The security requirements are higher on PRD, where SoD handling will be required.
    Kind Regards,

    Hii Vit,
If you want to have two paths for a single request than only possible solution will be to create role based initiator's.
Role Based Initiatator's can be created by following Configuration -> Workflow-> Initiator-> create.
Here Select the attibute as roles.
    For example create two Initiator
    Intiator1 -> having Role1 attribute -> Path1
    Intiator2 -> having Role2 attribute -> Path2
Now in the request if u select Role 1 & Role 2, than request will follow the parallel path ( path1 & path 2)
Else it is not possible to have parrallel workflow path for any other attribute.
In Case you can have provisioning at end of the paths as well as end of the request.

  • Maintaining WF-BATCH as Wflow Admin - Reg

    Hi All,
I have the following scenario and would really appreciate if anybody can throw some light and share their experiences.
I am working on ECC 6.0. In DEV and QA systems, and recently in PRD also ( by mistake), we have noticed that for Workflow System Admin, (in SWU3-->Maintain Workflow System Admin), the user WF-BATCH has been maintained.
As i know WF-BATCH is a system user and no one can access the SAP Inbox of this user. And, whenever some workflow fails, a notification is sent to this SAP Inbox's "Documents" folder, and probably some witems also have been getting generated for this user.
My problem is, how can we see these messages in Documents & Workflow folders of WF-BATCH.
Also, can anybody correct me if I am wrong in that there is no relation between the WF-BATCH which we generate thru'  "Configuring RFC Destination" in SWU3 for all our background tasks, and the "Maintain Workflow System Admin" also in SWU3. They are totally two independent user id's maintained. Am I right ?
Ofcourse, we are trying to change the WF Admin's user id to some valid regular Dialog user so that we can login to that SAP Inbox periodically to monitor.
But, how to see the already generated SAP Inbox messages and witems and what we can do with them.
I'd really appreciate your response / comments / suggestions on this.
    Thanks in advance
    venu

Maintaining the WF admin is a separate thing. You have to maintain an appropriate super user. On how to view the already generated messages I have a clue. Explore this program RSSO_DELETE_PRIVATE which responsible to delete the inbox messages and see from where it fetches the data.

  • Oracle Workflow Builder and Oracle 9i

The Oracle 9i Client CD does not include the Workflow Builder and MAPI Mailer, however the Oracle 9i Server CD NT does under the Client Component option.
Customers on other platforms need access to the builder, so patch 2053572 has been released to remedy this situation.
Customers should not install any other version of the Oracle Workflow Builder into a 9i Oracle Home. Previous releases of the Workflow require and 8i Oracle Home.
See Metalink Note 161304.1 for more details.

Got around the error by not running the installer (setup.exe) that came with the workflow code tree. I ran my Oracle Installer and pointed it at the appropriate place in the workflow code tree, and that worked. The Net8 Config Assistant setup process didn't complete, but I just copied my 9i tnsnames.ora file into the workflow network\admin directory and everything worked fine.

  • Error in workflow : Record has links

    Hi,
One of the record went into error at last step of workflow (step name :stop where it checks in the record). Now the record is still checked out and when I try to cancel /roll back/delete, every time it shows error "record has links". I have verified many times and there is no link of this record any where.
Can any one help me to get this record out of workflow/checked Out ?
    Thanks,
    Priya

Hi , I have followed below step:
There is a trick using which you can do CheckIn record.
In record mode of MDM Data Manager, right click on the Checkout record >Check In/Out>Click on All Versions.
Now you will be able to see two records for this. Now right click on Member record>Check In/Out>Roll Back.
When I say roll back, it says record is in workflow(On member record)
when I try to say roll back/ check in on original record, the option of checking In/roll back is not available. Also, both original and member record has same workflow job id and workflow for member is in Error.
Also owner of workflow is Admin who has all access
    Pls suggest

  • Create/Manage WF approval - Admin Console

    Hi Gurus,
    OIM 9.1.0.2
I have an user group in the OIM that need only be able to create/manage resource's approval workflow thru Admin Console. (Resource Management / Manage / Select Resource Name - Resource Detail - Resource Workflow)
I have already assigned to the group the Manage Resource menu item and I have selected some permissions in the Permission list, but it has not worked (Resource Object list doesn't appear).
Is it possible to give permission to a group in the OIM to be able to create/manage Resource's approval workflow? Which permission are needed from Admin and Design Console side?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    TiA,
    Carlos

    Hi Kevin,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
I have given the admin permission to group for each object, and now I can see the resource objects.
But when I select a resource object and click Resource Workflow in the Resource Detail list, the workflows created don't appear.
    Anything else I can do?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Open WF , Admin LOGS OFF

    Hi Friends,
If I try to open the Resource Workflows (in admin console/ resources/Manage/resource Details/...) of a PROV/RECON resource, a new window open with error *"Either your session timed out or you are trying to access a page without logging in"* and xelsysadm logs off.
the provisioning and recon process is working fine. I'm not able to see the WorkFlow Visualiser.
    Pls Help Me Out.

    Hi Nitin,
Due to the doubt of previleges only, I installed FMS again on a new machine, in the D: drive. But for no luck.
    1. I am running FMSMaster on the console, but not the FMS Admin. Can you tell me the command to run Admin from the console too?  I opened the services.msc, and there are only one FMS, FMS admin, and Httpd servies. How do I confirm if FMS ther is no second instance of FMS? Please guide me.
    2. I don't think there is any privileges issue while running cmd prompt. Because ealier (before modifying fms.ini and conf) the logs were appearing fine. As soon as I modified the files, and started playing the videos from remote, the logs stopped updating. Here
    3. I also divered the logs folder to D:/logs folder by modifying LOGGER.LOGDIR in fms.ini  But still the same result. The access.00, core.00, Edge.00, access_log, have the values only before modifying fms.ini and apache/conf files.
I also tried displying the logs using getserverstats but, it gives the following output. Although, I had enabled the getserverstats command in Users.xml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <result><level>error</level><code>Admin.API.MethodNotAllowed</code><description>getserverstats - Method not allowed!</description><timestamp>7/9/2012 7:11:31 PM</timestamp></result>
I am attaching the fms and conf files from my FMS. Please take a look, and suggest if there is something glaring in here.
    thanks,

  • Invoking WLPI workflows programatically

I am looking for documentation for invoking a WLPI workflow
programatically with my own code. I have set up the workflow & can
activate and start the workflow using the worklist application provided
by BEA but cannot find any documentation to suggest how I can do this
    myself.
I see the com.bea.wlpi.server.admin.Admin object which lets me get
templates, get template definitions, get business operations, etc. I
also found the com.bea.wlpi.server.worklist.Worklist object which gets
me the startable workflows, tasks etc. I can execute tasks from the
worklist object, but then I would have to execute and mark the tasks
(which in effect would make my code be the workflow engine). What I'd
like to do is grab a workflow template definition and run the workflow.
    Something like:
    Object result = ctx.lookup("com.bea.wlpi.Worklist");
    WorklistHome wfHome = (WorklistHome) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(result,
    Class.forName("com.bea.wlpi.server.worklist.WorklistHome"));
    Worklist worklist = wfHome.create();
    List workflows = worklist.getStartableWorkflows(organization);
    for (int i=0;i<workflows.size();i++) {
/* something to kick each one off here */
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Also BEA, how about that WLPI newsgroup ?

Finally got it to work for manual workflows. Here's what it took:
1)Grab the worklist object using the JNDI/EJB code below
2)Use worklist.instantiateWorkflow() and parse out the result to get the
workflow instance id and the template definition id (for setting workflow
    variables)
    3) If necessary, find the first task in the workflow using
    Admin.getInstanceTask() and execute it.
Also I ran into the problem where my sample workflow was taking off before I
passed it my workflow variables. To get around this, I made the first task
in my workflow do nothing when activated, and only do work when executed.
That way I could instantiate the workflow and call
Admin.setInstanceVariable() to set the variables. Only then did I grab the
first task in the workflow and execute it.
It would be nice if you could call worklist.instantiateWorkflow() with some
extra args that could provide workflow variables to the workflow engine.

  • Save workflow information

    Hi,
    I have the following scenario:
    - A user gets added to a group using workflowSaveChangeAttributeRequest function sent to the OAM server using IdentityXML.
    - The workflow is initiated by a third-party person in a page that does not have the credentials of the user to be added to the group.
    - Therefore, I have created a hardcoded account that has access to initiate the workflow, say admin/password.
    - When the workflow is initiated (onclick of a button in my custom page) admin/password get inserted in the identityXML on the server side, and user (e.g. user1) gets added to the group (e.g. group1).
    The problem:
    - When I check the workflow logs using the Monitor Requests tool of OAM I can't track which user was added to the group. Only which user initiated it which is of no use to me.
    Possible solutions:
    - I tried setting the workflow initiation permissions to "anyone", and tried initiating the workflow (through IdentityXML) with no credentials at all. It didn't work.
    - I tried finding a field or an option in OAM to save some information with the request. I didn't find anything.
Does anyone have an idea about how to solve this?

I think there is no need to complicate it you can just enable the approvals through email so whatever the mobile used the manager will receive an email and he can take action through email.

  • Test my workflow process

    Hi All,
I have created a workflow with following steps, create, edit, approve asset.
Can any one tell me how to test my workflow ?
Admin guide says "configure start menu items that assign workflow processes to assets"
    Thanks

    Hi,
Yes, you can create a startmenu item and configure it to use your workflow. That way, when you create a new asset using that startmenu item, the asset will be assigned to your workflow.
You can also simply select an asset that's not in workflow yet, and assign it to workflow. You do that by going to the Status screen, then in the workflow drop-down menu select the option to assign the asset to workflow.
Use Finish My Assignment to move the asset to the next workflow step.
    I hope this helps.
    Kind regards,
    Stephan.
