Delete 1 blank page in Pages

Howdy
I want to delete a page in Pages. It seems to be very difficult to do.
I have reviewed a lot of the prior posts, and cannot believe that you can't just click on the page that you want to go away, and watch it disappear.
What I had was a single page, with writing on it. I got to the thumb nail part where I clicked on the dropbox that asked if I wanted to clear all of the contents and just leave an empty page. I clicked yes, the contents disappeared. Now I have a blank page that I want to remove from My Templates.
When I click on the blank page, I get the same message about clearing all of the contents and leaving the empty page. I tried that a couple of times, nothing changed.
So I closed out the page, and got a box asking me if I wanted to save the changes. Clicked on that, still got the blank page in My Templates.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you
rlmslo

I am not quite sure what you want. Do you want to delete a custom made template from the " My template " folder?
Or do you want to delete a blank page of a Pages document?
The procedure you performed only empties the page. The empty document is still open. If you don't want the document close it, find it in the Finder and throw it in the Bin/Trash.
If you have opened a copy of a template the template will still exist in the My template folder.
Which system do you have on your computer?

  • Photo Book: Alert Symbol/Deleting Blank Pages?

    Greetings,
    Two questions:

    1. What does it mean when there's a small yellow alert symbol (a yellow triangle) in the upper right corner of my image?

It means your photo is below 180 dpi

PS you may find a couple of things useful
1 - iPhoto have a neat system called HELP - click on the HELP menu and ask your question
The reaults for "Yellow Triangle" includes the following
If you see a low-resolution alert
A digital photo is made up of millions of individual dots of color, called “pixels.” A photo’s “resolution” is the number of dots per inch (dpi) that it contains. The higher the resolution, the more dots per inch. Some photos look jagged or blurry when printed if their resolution is too low.
When you include low-resolution photos in a book, calendar, card, or print order, an alert symbol marks those photos.
To improve a photo’s print quality:
Choose a smaller print size. In a book or calendar layout, you can do this by increasing the number of photos per page.
If you previously cropped the photo, revert to its original version, and then crop off a smaller portion, or leave it uncropped.
If you positioned a photo within its frame by zooming in on it, zoom out of the photo.
If you continue to see a low-resolution alert after trying these methods, you can still order prints of the image or include it in your book, calendar, or card, but it may not print as clearly as your other photos.

  • Deleting blank pages

Just spent an hour+ on the phone with a product specialist regarding this problem. Never, ever should something so simple be so difficult...
This is what worked for me, and should for you, too. It is basically a blow-by-blow of what Peggy attempts to describe in her post--which in theory is separating an entire Pages document into individual "pages".
    1. For ease of viewing, reduce view to 25-50%.
    2. Go to View>Show Layout.
    3. Go to View>Show Page Thumbnails.
    4. Go to the blank page that you want to delete in the regular view screen. (For sake of my example, it is page 3 of a 5-page Pages doc.)
    5. Start at bottom R of blank page and mouse-click-drag toward L top of page. This should highlight a blue bar along the top margin or a series of paragraph place holders.
    6. Delete (and don't worry that all your text has separated from the layout of the rest of the doc or pulled up, the next step should remedy that.)
    7. Go to Insert>Section Break. (Yes, it will add in the deleted page again.)
    8. Next, go to page 2 (page preceding the page you want to delete, repeat highlighting click as per step 1.)
    9. DO NOT press DELETE this time, but go directly to Insert>Section Break.
    10. Now, click on your thumbnails view. Your page three should now stand alone in its own yellow box, meaning it is its own section.
    11. With that blank page highlighted yellow, you can either delete or go to EDIT>Delete Pages. This should get rid of the blasted blank page.
    12. Check the remainder of your doc to be sure no other pics or text have "disappeared". I've seen such postings, and it happened to me on the first pass.
CAVEAT! Check the remainder of your doc to make sure photos and text are still present WITH EACH STEP. In the first trial run of this fix-it, random pics toward the end of my doc were gone. Thankfully, I hadn't saved, so I quit out without saving, thus recovering what appeared to be lost.
Finally, it seems the default on this program should be that each individual page stands on its own. This same issue of lumping all the pages in one Pages doc. becomes more of a problem when you want to shuffle or work on layout, swapping out spreads, etc.

Can you describe a bit more - remember we know nothing except what you tell us
To see exactly what will be printed preview via this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference
a book must be 20 pages (10 sheets of paper) - you can not delete pages below that limit
to delete a page select it and use the delete page command
To add a photo or text to a page select the page and change the layout for that page (in the tool bar below the book)
Do these shots in the dark help?

  • Deleting blank (unfilled) pages from an album

Are there a minimum amount of pages allocated to a iPhoto Album? I am running 06 and this is my first attempt at this facility and I appear to have too few photos to fill the album of my choice; the default pages are left lonely and pictureless at the end of the book. So, the simple thing is to delete those unfilled album pages - no it is not! IPhoto will not allow me to delete - only add.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Yes - the minimum is 20 pages (10 sheets of paper) -- assuming that you are talking about a book

  • I can't delete a page in Pages. In Thumbnail is grouping pages together and won't let me delete it from the group

How can I "de-group" pages in Pages. I want to delete a blank page, and it refuses to let me.

This answer applies to Pages 4/iWork '09 or earlier. I don't use Pages 5 often enough to understand how it handles pages in the sidebar in 5.2.
Pages doesn't "see" a page as you & I do. Pages sees logical pages, separated by section breaks, rather than physical pages. You can see this by showing thumbnails, View > Show Page Thumbnails, & then clicking on a page thumbnail. The yellow border around groups of pages shows the logical page. You need to insert section breaks before & after the physical pages to separate them.

  • Remove header and footer from blank left-hand pages

Are there any scripts to automatically remove header and footer on a blank left-hand page for an InDesign CS3 document? I have a book with many chapters and it would be more efficient than removing them by hand.

It's a one liner from a much longer script that does quite something else -- this is merely a side effect, a quick way to get a page range (i.e., I need the range "251-256" to appear on my first page, excluding an optional blank last one) [*].
Perhaps I could write a full script, but for that I need a bit more information. Is your document an InDesign Book, with each chapter in a separate document? If so, any empty frame on a last leftmost page can safely be deleted. If your book is in a *single* InDesign document, this line can only be used if a left hand page has *no objects at all* -- not even an empty frame. That's the easy case -- in English "if there are no objects on the page, apply the "[None]" master. If there *is* a frame, however, it cannot be removed right away, even if it seems empty. That's because in that case you probably have inserted a page break somewhere on the previous page, and if the frame is deleted, tht page break will push off the text on the *next* page (the right hand). It also depends on what kind of page break -- as a character or as a paragraph Keep Option; Next Page, Next Frame, Next Odd Page, Next Column. Way too complicated to script right off the bat.
All in all, applying that empty master maually is much easier :-)
[*] Sure, I know how to use the Next Page Number trick. However, I also need the range in my XML output, and the Page Number markers do not play nice when written out in ASCII.

  • I have Lion 10.7.4.  How do I delete custom templates in Pages '09 v.4.1?

    Hello,
I have saved custom templates and then revised them and saved again.  I now have several I need to delete.  Also, how to delete custom templates?  Also, how do I delete blank pages?  I hate sending pdf's with a blank page at the end.  Thank you very much for your help!

Pages stores those you created & saved as templates in (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates. The user's Library is hidden in Lion but it is easy to open. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your user Library will appear about halfway down the list.

  • Blank content area page - hide

I created a form in Adobe Designer and my content area page is appearing as page 1 when I'm in PDF view - I've never had this happen and I can't delete or move the page (form MUST have one content area). It was interesting because I had 7 pages in my form - everything was fine until I decided to move page 7 to the top (becoming page 1) - from then on my content area page began appearing....any help out there on how i can "hide" this blank page?? Thanks! Lisa

    Hi Lisa,
I actually had to make the form work today, so unfortunately, I had to start over and not move any part around to make sure I didn't get the blank second page.
Now, the client just notified me that they don't want email submissions so I am off to find out how to se tup teh HTTP side.
Sorry I am not more help :-(

  • Acrobat Pro XI scans both sides (blank backs of pages) when pre-configured to scan front side only

Acrobat Pro XI scans both sides (blank backs of pages) when pre-configured to scan front side only; using Brother MFC 9840CDW and Windows 8 (was not a problem with previous Acrobat version).  Help, please?

Update:  No solution has been discovered; and, I did check the Brother settings (since it allows two-sided printing) - nothing awry there.  Acrobat behaves normally when scanning from the flatbed (as opposed to the doc feeder).  Using Acrobat to delete every other page (blank ones) after scanning is not a viable option.  Please, any thoughts on this issue?
