Delete a calendar event

I can see how to add an event, but can't find anywhere how to delete a cancelled event.

Jim I know how you feel.  The stock calendar doesn't give me the options I need like that either.  There is an app called aCalendar in the Playstore that is excellent.  It let's you customize each recurring event and also let's you customize how you want the event to occur.
I like the widgets as well.
Another option for your quick solution is to change the alert or delete that one appt using your computer.  You can do it online.

How do I delete a calendar event in my iphone? It allows me to "edit" the event but not to totally delete it. Or at least I can't seem to find a "delete" option anywhere!

Did you create the event somewhere else?  A lot of time when u create it on lets say PC or mac, you wont be able to edit it unless its from the same device.
Its also possible its created under a mail account.  I would suggest making all your events via icloud, then u should be able to edit it on all platforms regardless on which device made the event.

  • How do I delete a calendar event (repeating daily forever) that I accepted on my iPhone from a mobileMe iCal invite?

    Hi,
I'd like to know how to delete a calendar event from my iPhone4 (iOS 5.1) calendar. The event was sent to me from a mobileMe synced iPhone4 (iOS 5.1) calendar and for some reason it was set to daily repeat forever.
The event has been deleted from the originators calendar now, but the result has not been propagated to my calendar, despite an update being sent out. When I attempt to accept it just hangs and doesn't update in my calendar.
More annoyingly, the event doesn't have an edit button in my calendar, so I cannot delete it (and all other occurences) myself.
Any ideas on how to remove it?
    Thanks,
    Rich

A workaround. Not perfect but it gets rid of it.
Do the below link's steps and then deselect that calendar from view.

I need to delete a calendar event that transfered to my 4S from my Droid phone. This event occurs yearly.  When I open this event, the edit button that normally appears in the upper right corner does not exist so I can't delete it.  Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. I use firefox for so many, many years thta I deserve this kind of support .. thnx Robert

  • Trying to use Automator to delete old Calendar Events

I am trying to use Automator to quickly delete all Calendar events prior to a specified date. I use Find Calendar Events to successfully find all of the events prior to a certain date. I check the results and they are good.
Then I use Delete Calendar Events and I receive the following error:
"Delete Calendar Events failed - 1 error
The event cannot be deleted. (0)."
This happens no matter when I set the prior date.
My calendar is an Exchange calendar and is not shared.
Any ideas on what to try?
    Screenshot attached.

Yes, I can manually delete them. I can also use Outlook to delete them multiple at a time from a search list.
I agree with you, I don't think Automator is the problem, I think there is some permission setting I must be missing, but no clue what.

  • Deleting old calendar events

Is there any way to delete old events from the calendar, eg. from 2007 back for instance? This includes iphone, mobileme and home computers.

Depends entirely on the calendar app you're using. On the iPhone, no. But, if you are syncing via iTunes, there's a checkbox to eliminate syncing of events older than a certain number of days. Outlook (Windows) has an archiving tool which can delete old calendar events. iCal (Mac) does not.

How do I delete annual calendar events, like birthdays?

To delete birthdays, you have two options:
    1.  Delete the person's birthday from their contact entry.
    2.  In calendar, click "Calendars" in the upper left and uncheck the "Birthdays" calendar.

  • Deleted iCloud calendar events keep reappearing

The other day I was trying to subscribe to a shared calendar (schedule for a baseball team). Instead of subscribing I ended up importing the ICS file into my main iCloud calendar. (This happened on the iPad) Unfortunately this means 160+ events, basically one a day from May-September.
I determined that deleting was quickest using iCal on my Mac. But after deleting the events in iCal, the changes did not propogate to my iPad or iPhone calendars.
So I tried on the iPad. I even did a test by deleting one event, and watching it automatically delete on the iPhone. I should point out here that up to now I have not had any problems with iCloud calendar syncing. So then I proceeded to delete all the events on iPad. But still the events persisted on my iPhone!
Just now I deleted one month of the events from my iPhone. I went to the next month, deleted a few more, and when I went back to look at the first month (July), the events had re-appeared.
OKAY HAHA GUYS VERY FUNNY THE JOKE IS ON ME?
I've logged into icloud.com and I see the events are still present there. If I double-click the event, it gives me the message "coudln't load event details". This only happens for these events, not all my events. And the delete buttons is greyed out! Not sure how to get these events out of my iCloud calendar now.
It makes me wonder if iCloud has some logic built in to roll back changes, if too many calendar modifications happen in a short period of time, as a way to prevent unintentional mass-deletion?

I'm having a similar issue trying to delete entire calendars.  They keep re-appearing after I delete them!  Happens in Calendars on Mountain Lion and in iCloud website (normal and beta)

  • HT2513 delete online calendar events from my iCal?

Does anyone know how to unsubscribe from an online calendar?  I hit the iCal instead of RSS subscription button and now my iCal is filled with 2-4 identical items every day!  It's on every device so it must be going through iCloud.

    Hi Applepeople1,
If you suspect your calendar is on iCloud, you can login to your account at www.icloud.com.
Click on the Calendar section of the link below from the iCloud help site.
    iCloud Help: Delete a calendar
    Delete a calendar
When you delete a calendar from your Calendars list, all events associated with the calendar are also deleted.
You can’t delete all of the calendars in the list because the list must always must contain at least one calendar.
WARNING:  Any calendar deletions you make appear on every device where you turned on iCloud Calendar. For example, if you have iCloud Calendar turned on on your iPhone and your Mac, when you delete a calendar from iCloud Calendar on the web, the calendar is also deleted from the Calendar app on your iPhone.
    Delete a calendar
    Click Edit in the sidebar.
Click the Delete button to the right of the calendar’s name.
Click Delete Calendar. If the calendar is shared, a window appears asking whether or not to send a notification email to calendar participants. If you choose not to notify participants via email, they’re notified the next time they sign in to iCloud that the calendar is no longer available.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • How to delete all calendar events in my iphone.

I need to delete all the events in my iphone which I have added manually in the calendar. Should I delete one by one in the calendar or do we have an option to delete all. I haven't synched my calendar with any external softwares including iCloud.

Turn ON Calendar in iCloud settings and choose merge. Wait few seconds and turn in back OFF. Choose delete from my iPhone. Now go to www.icloud.com from a desktop browser, sign in with your Apple ID and go to Calendars to delete all entries (if you want) more easily.

  • How do I delete a calendar event from iPad 2?

Hello, I have a MacBook Pro running OS X Lion and my wife has an iPad 2.
I invited her to a recurring event through iCal on the MacBook Pro.  My wife accepted the invite and added it to her calendar on the iPad 2.  I later updated the event from monthly to every four weeks.  My wife accepted the update but it added it as a second event on the iPad, i.e., both the original monthly series and the four-weekly series are present in the iPad calendar.  On the MacBook Pro only the updated event series is present.
I've since deleted the event on the MacBook Pro.  My wife received the notification of the delete on the iPad 2 but there was no option to delete the event.
How can I delete the two recurring iPad series?

View the calendar in Month view.
Tap on the event. You should see an outline of an arrow pointing to the event. At the opposite end of the arrow from the event should be and Edit button.
Tap Edit and a larger box with the details of the event shall appear. At the bottom of that box should be a Red Delete button.
This should appear for all events but perhaps automatic events or pleating events are different.
