Delete a page in a document

I have a 2 page document, I want to delete the first page.
I tried deleting everything off of it, but it shows blank page.
I tried going to the beginning of the second page and deleting, nothing happens.
Ipad iOS 4

On the blank page tap and hold it with your finger and try get the text curser to appear. Then hit the delete key (upper right) on the keyboard until the page disappears.
Doing this will take a few tries and can be frustrating.

How do I delete some pages in a document? I have 7 pages listed and I want to delete the last two pages of the document and when I do the thumbnail to delete the pages it wants to delete all the pages in the document.

How to delete a page in a document

Hi everyone I am new using mac and I´m having some problems when I use pages. Is there any way to remove a page of a document and how can I paste an image in a document. Can I join two documents? How? I really apreciate any help.

Good questions. You would be best served by taking just a few hours and reading the Pages User Guide, available for download from the Help menu of Pages.
There are two types of Pages documents and the type you choose when you first create a document will persist for the life of the document. The two basic types are Word Processing and Page Layout.
In the Word Processing document, when you open a template and begin to type, text will appear and will flow from page to page as I imagine you would expect. In a Page Layout document, there is no place for text to go until you create a Text Box or other container for your text. Once you fill a Page Layout page, you must create a new page if you wish to continue adding content, and you must indicate a link from the first page to the next.
When it comes time to manipulate pages, it's simple in Page Layout, more difficult in Word Processing. In either case, View > Page Thumbnails. In Page Layout select the page icon for the page or interest and delete it or move it at will. In Word Processing, you must isolate the page you want to delete or move by inserting Section Break characters before and after that page. Then you can delete or move as with the Page Layout page.
Two documents can be joined by Selecting and Copying the Page icons in one document and Pasting them into the Pages pane of the other document.
Images can be added to a document by either Coping and Pasting or by dragging a file to the canvas. When you add an image you will need to visit the Wrap Inspector to set the Inline/Floating, Text Causes Wrap and other parameters which dictate how text flows around the image and whether the image is locked to the text or the page below.

Delete a Page in Word Document

I want to run a macro to delete the 3rd (and it is also the last) page of a document. I've found the following code in the forum:
Selection.HomeKey wdStory
Selection.Goto What:=wdGoToPage, Count:=3
Selection.Bookmarks("\Page").Select
Selection.Delete
However, when the macro hits the first line, it gets a run-time error 438 Object doesn't support this property or method.
Interestingly, others responded that this code worked fine.
What am I missing?

Where is the cursor when you run the macro?
The problem when attempting to delete 'pages' in a Word document is that Word is not a page layout application. There are no 'pages' in a Word document, only text flowed into a document container which comprises a variety of story ranges. When attempting
to delete a 'page' it helps to know what is on that 'page'.
However if you want to delete the last 'page' of a document, then the following may work for you. Ensure the cursor is in the body text of the document.

CS5 crashes when I try to delete a page

I'm stumped. Whenever I try to delete a page from ANY document in CS5 (mac) indesign crashes. It doesn't matter if I use the pull down menu or the pages palate. I tried all the ususal suspects including trashing prefs, repairing permissions, etc.
Any ideas?

Using Preview to combine pages from different documents into a new document

I'm trying to create a single new pdf document by combining selected pages from several other pdf documents. However, when I drag pages from the older documents into the new one they retain the source file name. Then when I save the new document only the page that is active at the time of the save is actually saved.
Is it possible to do what I'm trying to do? If so, what should I do that I'm not doing?

Thanks, Jeffrey. Sounded pretty straightforward. And it actually is -- once you get the hang of it. I had a couple attempts at "doing it" before I got it to work for me. At one point dragging a page to another location copied it instead of moving it. And at one point a page drug onto the new document somehow got identified there as a separate document that I knew was not going to get saved with the rest of the document.
Either of these situations could have been salvaged if there was a way to delete a page from a document. I couldn't find one. Is there one?
Anyway, I've got my document now. So thanks for your help.
While I'm at it, I should say I never woulda found this solution on my own. There was no clue to it that I could find in the Preview help file. So double thanks.

How can I delete the first page in a document? It is blank and pagination is grayed out.

A PDF form is opened in LiveCycle 8.2 and there is a blank page in the beginning of it, then the form data for the document I need.
I have tried numerous ways to delete this page, with no luck. I have read through these forums and google searched, nothing is helping.
Can anyone assist me?
Is this something I can email the PDF to someone and they can take a look at it?

The parent subform must be set to Flowed. Make sure each page (subform) is set to Pagination>Following Previous.

Deleting an item deletes entire page in Pages Document

I have a 2 page brochure I am working on. It contains several shapes, pictures, and text areas. There is a shape on the first page that I want to remove. When I select it and press the delete key the selected shape along with the entire second page of the document are deleted. How can I remove just the shape? I don't want to have to start the second page over from scratch.

Is this shape an inline object or floating? It sounds like it might be inline & removing it reduces the contents of the document to one page. If your other objects are floating, they're still there, but you won't see them until there is a second page. Put your cursor at the bottom/end of the first page & insert a page break from the insert menu.
My other thought is that you are selecting the shape on the thumbnail view & deleting. That would delete the whole page & its contents.

First of all thanks for anyone that dedicated some time reading my post.
I have the following "quest" for almost 1000 pdf files with different pages within.
a) Delete the first page (I managed with the batch processing)
b) Move page 2 and 3 after the last page of that document
Already searched already with the "batch processing" however i didn't find any useful option.
In my opinion (please guys correct if i'm wrong), the only way that I can do it, is with a javascript.
I found one on the web, and modified a little bit and tried however it doesnt work:

1) Batch Processing
2) New Sequence - Execute Javascript
3) Past your script
4) Run Command on: Ask when sequence....
5) Select output location: Ask when sequence....

Check if you still have an old backup and do a restore otherwise it's gone.

I can't close / delete a pages document. Can you help?

Every time I open pages a perticular document appears. I cannot close or delete it. Even if I force quit it. It reapears next time. Cannot access tool bar when it's open. Please help.

What do you see?
Do you see any boxes around your objects with light crosses on the corners? They are locked.
click on them > Menu > Arrange > Unlock
The other possibility is you have moved the objects to the Section Master:
Menu > Arrange > Section Master > Make Master Objects Selectable
Or if you click on the text area and then see small white boxes on the corners and a group of objects moves together
Menu > Arrange > Ungroup
You have shown me only the poster, out of context and without any of the surrounding format options, so it is hard to tell anything about it. Even whether you are in Pages. It could even be a pdf file.

You can not insert a section break into a textbox.
You appear to have a lot of objects with wrap set, that once you take them out of the flow of text (by sending them to the background) causes the text to reflow and contract into fewer pages. Pages is almost unique in the way it forms up pages in Word Processing mode only so long as there is text on them.
I suspect you probably have hammered away at returns, spaces and tabs as well to position things, which only works to add to the mess.

PS There is quite a lot of programming in OSX that is far from "intuitive". Pages is easy at one level, when using the templates, otherwise it can be quite frustrating.
