DELETE ALL MY CONTACTS

i just got my first iphone, and i loaded too many contacts from my pc, how do I delete all contacts at once, there are too many to delete one by one, also since i have very little data in the phone i don't care if all the data gets deleted

There are a few ways you can do this.
1. Plug the phone into iTunes and on the info tab uncheck the sync contacts box and sync the phone again. This will remove all of the contacts.
The next two options involve wiping the whole phone which you said you don't mind doing but just be warned that EVERYTHING on your phone will disappear and will need to be synced again/set up again.
2. Plug the phone into iTunes and click restore in the device summary page. This will wipe all data from your phone and it will be as if you just opened the box again.
3. Go to settings, general, reset on the phone. Then tap erase all content and settings. This will do the same thing as number 2, with the difference being this is done directly on the phone rather than having to attach it to a computer.

  • I was setting up an iCloud account.  I set it up and the wanted to delete it.  When I did that, I inadvertently deleted all my contacts off my iPhone.  I don't think there was any backup.  How do I get my contacts back?

Hi.  I was setting up an iCloud account on my son's iPhone.  We set up the account, but then decided to delete it.  When we did, we accidentally deleted all the contacts from his iPhone.  There was no backup done yet.  I tried backing up his contacts in verizon backup, but that didn't work.  Can anyone help p,was.  He lost hundreds of contacts

If you deleted the account by going to Settings>icloud, scrolled to bottom of page and tapped Delete Account, then all you have to do is go to the same page an sign in using the same ID; be sure Contacts is turned on.

  • How can I delete all my contacts in Address Book?

I had syncing issues between my Entourage 2008 contacts, my Address Book contacts, and the PowerMac for Blackberry application. As a reference, I have around 5,000 contacts. I have solved the issue, but there is some collateral damage: read on.
Address Book duplicated my contacts two or three times, and it also created around 60,000 empty contacts. I have been able to clean the Entourage contacts, which only suffered from duplication but not from new empty entries.
I tried to delete the Address Book duplicate and empty entries. The easy way out, I thought, was to Select All and delete. It does not work. Given I have ended with around 80,000 contacts, after I Select All, and try to delete, the program hangs, and I have to Force Quit the Address Book application.
I tried to locate the Address Book file where contacts are stored, but I have not found an obvious name that would point to it, nor have I read anything about such file in the different discussion forums. So no success on this.
I have even used scripts in the past for deleting duplicates and merging contacts in Entourage, but I have not found one for Address Book that could take care of the massive number of empty entries with "No Name".
So, is there a way to delete all my contacts in Address Book?

There are two possibilities you can try:
    1. Delete all your duplicate entries. You can try downloading and running this Applescript Remove Duplicates, which will create a group named Duplicates in Address Book, from which you should be able to delete those entries, by selecting the Group, then in the next column to the Right, select all the entries and choose Delete Cards from the Edit menu.
    2. If that doesn't work, you can do this:
    1. Quit Address Book if it's running.
    2. Go to ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook and delete an of these files/folders you find there:
    • ABPerson.skIndex
    • ABPerson.skIndexInverted
    • Address Book - xxxxx.abbu
    • AddressBook.data
    • AddressBook.data.beforesave
    • AddressBook.data.previous
    • Images
    • LastImport.plist
    3. Restart Address Book and see if the default cards are there (Apple card, and your Me card) and if all seems to be working correctly.

  • I took my daughter's new Iphone 5 to shop and they replaced it with a new one.  Today she logged on to my ICloud account and deleted all my contacts and just kept the ones she wanted.  Can I retrieve my contacts, please help

My daughter has a new Iphone 5 and we share an ITunes account.  She logged on to my Icloud Account and deleted all my contacts this morning.  Can i restore this as I now only have her friends as my contacts?

No, data like Email, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes are only synced between devices and not included in icloud backups, so unfortunately you won't be able to restore them. Please see also: iCloud storage and backup overview: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519/

  • IPHONE 4 – UPDATE ISSUE – IOS 7 UPDATE DELETED ALL THE CONTACTS : PLEASE HELP! PLEASE HELP!

    Hello Everyone,
Following are the seemingly essential details in regards to this discussion :
    iPhone Model = 4
    Purchase Date = 05.Jan.2011
Initial Activation Remark = I used my gmail email account to add contacts initially. But phone always failed to sync (back) with gmail after the initial setup. As in if I make any changes in the iPhone’s Contact List, it won’t automatically be saved to my gmail account. But I thought to keep a full phone back up on my MacBook Pro will be safer option as well.
    Latest Full Phone Backup Date = 19.Sep.2013 [via iTunes-11 on MacBook Pro-OS X 10.8.2]
    iOS 7 Update Date = 20.Sep.2013
    >>>[It went "On" Automatically when I touched to read the details, and could not stop once it got initiated - Actually I wanted to wait until some reviews were out. ****.]
Problem = iOS 7 update deleted all the Contacts that were originally saved on the iPhone.
Tried & Failed = I tried to restore from the available 19.Sep.2013 backup from my MacBook Pro. It restored everything but still NO CONTACTS. If I add email [orginal gmail] account's contacts then it does not show the contacts that I saved on the phone locally; around 1100.
I am in the great trouble because my 1100+ contact list just zeroed by this new update.
[Also, my iCloud all got screwed up. I had earlier used my wife's credit card to register for iTunes, and now my account got her name all over it. There is no option to change the name on icloud.com. I will start a new discussion for this problem.] Though I am trying not to lash out on Apple (for now), but I think that it is seriously getting into my nerves.
Could anyone please help me to get my contacts back? I will be eternally grateful.
I still got the Full iPhone Backup on my MacBook Pro that I did just before the update.
    Please help. Thank you!

    Yes, I did.
It restored everything [incl. photos] but phone contacts.
And, after restoration the iOS was still 7.
I tried twice but still no phone contacts.
Please help me to get my phone contacts back!

  • How do I delete all my contacts at the same time?

I want to delete all my contacts from my iphone 4s. I know how to delete them one at a time, but I want to know if there is a quicker way?

On the iPhone I'm afraid you are not able. I would suggest you go to the address book you are syncing to on your computer and delete them there, then re-sync. It should delete them from your iPhone.

  • How do I delete all my contacts from my iPod Touch?

I'm giving my iPod touch to my grandson and want to delete all my contacts from my iPod Touch. These have been synched from Mobile Me (.Mac). I've unchecked the synch contact box in the setting section of iTunes, but the contacts do not get deleted. (Also, I want to be careful not to accidentally delete them from my .Mac contact list in the process.) I successfully removed my music and photos in this manner, but the contacts are not being deleted. Advice would be appreciated.

Connect the Touch to iTunes and click the Restore button. After the Touch is erased and the OS is re-loaded, you'll have the option to load your last backup or set it up as a new iPod (which is what you want).
Alternatively, you can simply use the built-in utility. On the Touch go to Settings/Reset/Erase All Content and Settings. That may actually take longer than Restoring though.

  • I deleted an old work email account on my iPhone4 and it deleted all my contacts! How do I get them back?

I deleted an old work email account on my iPhone4 and it deleted all my contacts! How do I get them back?

The iPhone does not store ANY information on the SIM card. If they were truly on the SIM, re-import them from the SIM.
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Import SIM Contacts.

  • How do I delete all my Contacts in ONE GO instead of one by one and add them back again refreshed?

How do I delete all my CONTACTS IN ONE GO instead of ONE BY ONE and add them again renewed?

There is an option, under Advanced, on the Info Pane in iTunes to replace all contacts on your phone with what's on your computer for the next sync only. So, edit everything on your computer & use that method.

  • How do i delete all my contacts in mail address book

how so i delete all my contacts in mail address book, i have 1,042,000 blank contacts.

In Lion, the user's LIBRARY folder is hidden. So, it's not visible automatically.
    Open Finder.
At the menu items at the top of your screen, click on GO (where you see Finder, File, Edit, View, Go, Help)
Next within the GO options, select the 'Go to Folder' option. You will see a window open to enter text.
Enter ~/Library and click the GO button.
Now you'll be in your user LIBRARY where you need to be to get to your address book file previously mentioned.
You want to open the Application Support folder then from inside there open the AddressBook folder. Then you can follow Barney's instructions.

  • HT5824 How can I delete all my contacts from icloud with a single command?

I would like to delete all my contacts from iCloud so when I synchronize with my other devices, the one I already have don't be duplicated or deleted

If you delete all your iCloud contacts, then enable contact syncing with your other devices, the empty iCloud contacts are likely to overwrite the contacts on your other devices and you will lose them.
Do you have a master list of contacts on one of your devices that you are trying to replace the iCloud contacts with?

  • How can I delete all my contacts from the icloud?

I've been working with Apple's sometime, and now I have been forced to use iCloud after MobileMe.
After syncing a couple of devices, some things went quite wrong. My iCloud contacts are now a complete mess. I have lots of duplicates. And over 8000 contacts.
What I want to do is, is do a cleanup, and clear all the iCloud contacts, and import a new 'clean' address book from 1 mac to the icloud, which then in it's turn can be synced to all the devices?
Is dit possible? I've noticed deleting manually is a pain, because the browser doesn't really allow more then 50 contacts or so at a time, before the browser freezes.

Go to your Contacts on your Mac - if more than one pick the most accurate; delete any contacts you don't want. Select all the contacts, and from the File menu choose 'Export...'>'Export vCard'. Save the resultant file safely: it will be your 'master' list.
Now delete all the contacts from whichever device has the most in it. Sync with iCloud. If necessary repeat with different Macs. The result should be that the deletions sync to iCloud and in the end you finish up with empty Contacts lists everywhere.
Now you can import your saved file to one of your Macs. Make sure you import it under 'iCloud' not 'On My Mac'. Then it should propagate iCloud and any other devices. Keep the saved file at least until you are satisfied that all is in order.

  • So just downloaded 5.0 and it deleted all my contacts, how can I get it all back? I already tryed the "Back Up" or "Restore" and it's still blank on my iphone??

So just downloaded 5.0 and it deleted all my contacts, how can I get it all back? I already tryed the "Back Up" or "Restore" and it's still blank on my iphone??

You should have been syncing your contacts to your computer regularly.  Just sync them back ot the iphone from your computer.

  • I have to erase and syne my iPhone 4s will that delete all my contacts?

So apparently my iPhone syne to another computer. To sync it with the one I use I have to erase and sync. Will that delete all my contacts???

You might if you select to sync contacts on the Info tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync to an empty contact application on your computer (e.g., Outlook or Windows Contacts).  As a safety precaution download the free app My Contacts Backup.  This will back up your contacts as an attachment to an email which you send to yourself.  If necessary, you can later open this email on your phone and tap the attachment to re-import your contacts to your phone.  After doing this, follow this guide to preserve your other data and settings: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.  If you aren't syncing your calendar or contacts with your computer, you can skip step 2; just be sure to deselect syncing calendars and contacts on the Info tap of your iTune sync settings prior to syncing.
