Delete authorization for distribution list

Hi,
In our system all the distribution lists suddenly deleted and it was in the shared trash folder.
so we retrived from the folder.
To restrict the delete authorization of users for distribution lists in the object S_OC_ROLE field OFFADMI ' Administrator' has been changed to ' '. But they were not able to create the the distribution list in the shared folder. they are able to create only in their private folder.
Is there any way to restrict the delete authorization alone.

Hi Stef,
Please try to add this authorisation object manually F_BKPF_BUK- Authorisation object for company code.
In the filed BUKRS you can maintain the company code as you required for the users.
I hope this may help you in resolving the issue.

I have searched all the tables starting from SO*.but could nt able to find.
The table SOOD just gives me the header data of distribution list.

How to create a rule for distribution list

I have users in a distribution list that all require a specific rule to be created for them. I have been able to create a a rule to distribute in Exchange management shell which works properly but I have found out that the rule will not be visible to the
end user in the Outlook 2007 client. I was wondering if there is a solution to distribute a rule to these users without the need tot visit each of their computers while they are signed in (24-hour business but I.T. only works day shift). Any solution would
be appreciated.

From your description, I would like to clarify that the rule you create in EMS is the transport rule. Users can't see the transport rules on Outlook side. They can see the Outlook rules on Outlook side. Your understanding will be appreciated.

Spam safelist for distribution list

I have a user that wants to create a safelist for email that regularly goes to a distribution list. The user will get a notice that the email has been caught in the spam filter, can releast the email but is not able to set a safelist for the address.
Is there a way to grant access to create a safelist for email that is sent to a distribution list?

Users can only add an email sender's address to their own Safelist. There are no available permissions for users' Safelist/Blocklist settings. As such, you would not be able to grant them access to anything that is not already availalble.
If any users find that valid messages from distribution lists are being tagged as spam, it would be a good idea to open a ticket with Cisco IronPort Customer Support. They can then work with the IronPort Anti-Spam team, to correct any rules causing false positives.

Delete authorization for specific Company Code

All,
For a specific transactions, our users may only run the transaction for a specific company code. Transaction is TPM55A
What authorization object do I need to add to my role, so the users have only authorization for let's say Company code range 1000 - 1050.

Disable delete option for a list? But where ?

via Console Application I can hide/disbale the Delete This List option:

but the above code dont have any effect on the list, I have still the Item with DELETE THIS LIST in the listsettings.
do you know maybe why? or can I also debugg it?

I have found that we can set the following flags to get an confirmatrion.
read = 'X'.
DELIVER = 'X'.
using cl_send_request_bcs=>create_recipient_from_soos1
This can done for an single user (recipient)
But how is it possible to set this flags to a distibution list?

Hi.
In outlook try these settings :
1.From the Oulook Tools menu, select Options (if you don't see the Options menu item, you may ahve to expand the menu window with that little double arrow that points downward).
2. In the next screen for Options, click on the Email Options button
3.In the next screen Email Options, click on the Tracking Options button.
4. In the Tracking Options screen, you have a checkmark for Delivery receipt. Click this and all your emails you send out will give you an alert when your email server delivers them.
Moreover check in SOST, the traffic signal should be green indicating the mail was send successfully to outlook.

How to sync changes in user-created distributions lists when used by multiple Outlook users

Thanks for looking at my post. We are using Outlook exchange and Outlook 2010.
I have created a distribution list that is comprised of 20 members (students) with email addresses outside our organisation. I have sent this list to others in my workteam (Lecturers) and they have added the list to their own contacts group - we
share this list as we all email the same students for different reasons.
My issue arises when a student needs to be deleted from the distribution list and I am the first person to find out about it. Ideally, I would like to take the student off and have this distribution list automatically update for the other lecturers instead
of having to re-send the list to them after it has been edited. As it stands at the moment, each lecturer has to go into the distribution list I originally sent to them to delete the student.
There has to be an easier way to sync the changes that each lecturer makes to this list.
Any ideas?

You can place the group in a shared Contacts folder so everyone will see the same group.
Depending on your Exchange infrastructure and working habits, this could be a folder in your mailbox, a Public Folder, Shared Mailbox or even a SharePoint List.

Distribution list, duplicate alias

I accidently deleted AD object for distribution list.
When I create distribution list from
"Chage group Settings" page and set "Create an e-mail distribution group for this group?" to yes, I get "The Directory Management Service reported the following error: Duplicate alias." I tried to delete distribution list from Central Administration -> Operations -> Approve/reject distribution groups, no luck either.
I tried stsadm refreshdms and got:
Error in application.
Any advice?

Thank you so much to take time to reply. Here is the result:
Please check if you have any groups listed under Central Administration > Operations > Approve/reject distribution groups when you select "Delete Requests" view. If yes, please delete them.
I tried this before I posted my question. I tested this and found two things:
1. A group doesn't get deleted if AD doesn't exactly match the data. Here is the situation. When I tried a distribution group called "IT group", unfortunately "IT group" contact email distribution existed. Of course, SharePoint gave me an error; somehow "IT group" appeared on Directory Management Service Approval List.
2. Even I delete a group and the group disappears, I get the same error. One group for this post, I created one and accidentally deleted AD side.
Do you have OU created for these contacts and distribution groups in AD (Active Directory)? if yes, please delete this group from OU and see if that helps.
No OU has been created for this group.
Also check OU for any contacts ( created for email enabled lists/libraries or for any other purpose) with the same name(alias), which you are assigning to a distribution group. This seems to be the strongest possibility of the error message you are receiving.
So far; no luck. Couldn't find any group with the same name in AD.
If I create and delete a group, it works perfectly on all sides. Still looking for a solution.

Address Book Distribution List Settings Don't Stick

Is there a bug in Address Book for distribution lists? When I attempt to edit an address book distribution by changing the default email, the setting does not stick. I can select a bold any address for a contact with multiple addresses, but then when I go back in and look at the distribution list, it goes back to the previous email and not the one I selected.

I was having a very similar problem. For some individuals, I could change the preferred e-mail address in edit distribution list, but not for others. After some messing around, I discovered that the only people whose settings didn't stick were those whose first e-mail listed in the Edit Distribution List sheet was a facebook.com e-mail. If they had a Facebook e-mail that wasn't first in the list, I could change them.
The order of e-mail addresses in the Edit Distribution list and the individual cards wasn't the same. e.g. I couldn't reset my husband's e-mail address because in Edit Distribution, his facebook.com address was listed first. But it was listed last on his actual card.
I fixed things by going to System Preferences, Mail Contacts & Calendars, locating my Facebook account in the list, and unchecking "contacts." The facebook.com addresses disappeared in contacts, and the changes I made in Edit Distribution list stuck.

ECC6: Authorizations for GOS

In ECC6, I should give two different levels authorization into generic object services Toolbox.
I have two type of users:
1. Administrator
2. Accountant
The Administrator should be able to create, edit, display and delete notes.
The Accountant should be able just to create and display notes.
Administrator users were given the S_OC_ROLE athorization object .
Accountant users were given the S_GOS_ATT authorization object, though this doesnu2019t work since the accountant users are still able to edit and delete notes.
My question is: how can I remove the edit and delete authorizations for accountant users?

A concrete scenario I have to deal with:
The scope for all business partners and transactions should be limited to central Europe.
The relevant field for this authorization is the id (number range) respectively the business partner grouping.
- I would use ACE rules to filter the relevant business partners by their ID or grouping and relevant transactions by their account-assignment
- I would set up ACE rights to limit access for the actions read, write and delete
- to handle the create authorization, I have to define a PFCG role and limit access to certain CRM components
The user should be allowed to read Corporate Accounts,
to read, edit, create Contacts,
is not allowed to deal with Opportunities,
is allowed to create, read all activities and to read, edit, delete own activities (if he is the creator),
is not allowed to deal with any report or pipeline performance.
- ACE role/right to read Corporate Accounts
- PFCG role to restrict create access for the BP_HEAD component
- (ACE role/right to limit search results for opportunities)
- PFCG role to restrict create, search, overview access for the BT111M component
- Business role without Work Centers or Logical Links to opportunities
- ACE role to limit access to read activities
- ACE role to limit access to read, edit, delete activities which the user has created
- PFCG role to restrict access to all pipeline performance components
- remove PFCG roles for report access (e.g. SAP_CRM_OR_USER)

Which phones have Distribution list capability?

I need to purchase a phone for a youth group charity I work with to allow me to contact lists of people.
Can anyone tell me which phones which are available now in the UK as new have this feature. I dont want to purchase a second hand one just in case it breaks. I want to get a new phone.
As we're a charity - cost is a factor so I need to know which lower spec models carry this feature.

The best phone for distribution lists or contact groups appears to be the Nokia 6300. I have one and it definitely does 20 lists and I was told it goes to 40 lists. It is not in the technical manual. It is an excellent phone.
Nokia 3120 (7 lists of 20 contacts each); Nokia 1101, 2100 (6 distribution lists each).
I was told the expensive N and E series handle lists, but in the shop they looked to be capped at 10 distribution list. Need to check this.
In Asia the low cost models: 1265, 1325, 2505 are all said to have good distribution list capability, but they are not available in EC or USA.
I wish Nokia would publish this info in their technical specs - I spent days researching this. I run a football league and need to contact lots of teams.

Something is deleting my distribution list in Production system

Hello masters:
I created a distribution list in order to send emails from a workflow item. It's working fine in dev and qas. However, something is deleting my distribution list in Production system.
And the worst is that my distribution list is deleted as soon as I create it again (well, it lasts a few days).
Does anybody knows what could be happening?

Probably the Distribution list is not getting created at all.
Also check whether there is any program that is deleting the distribution list.
