Delete button on keyboard?

Where is the delete button on a Macbook keyboard?

There isn't a Delete Key (Even if you have one that is Marked Delete). It is a Backspace key (Even if you have one that is Marked Delete).
To use that key (However it is Marked) you have to use the fn key with the Delete key. fn+Delete or a box with a left pointing arrow with a X in the box.

  • Where is the delete button on my wireless keyboard?

    Hi
    I think that I may have exhausted every possibility but can anyone tell me if there is, in fact, a delete button on my Mac wireless european keyboard? I have a double width backspace button where the delete should be but it only works as delete in certain applications. It doesn't work as a delete button for instance in iTunes. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks

    On an iPad this function is still one apple is to provide. On your Mac wireless keyboard it is the usual hold down the fn key and the tap the delete key.

  • I can't find Delete button on Spanish Wireless KeyBoard

    Hi, I am totally new with iMAC.
    I can't imagine that I just brought iPhone 4 a 3 years ago.
    Now I brought 3 iPad after that then, finally I have iMAC..
    but entire of my life I never used this Cool stuff but I am still not used to on it.
    Please anyone help me that I have Spanish Wireless keyboard and I can't find Delete button.
    I can see the  narrow button on my right upper side but I think that is not working like Delete function.
    Anyone could help me please??

    There was a method (from a few years ago) noted in a page of keyboard questions;
    this one was in association with Spanish keyboards, from the Store pages. Actually
    there are eight replies to the issue of a Delete key, with varied results, here:
    http://store.apple.com/us/question/answers/product/MC184E/B/the-one-delete-key-m oves-left-is-there-a-single-keystroke-wa…
    And the above (linked page) came from this page of even more comment/questions:
    http://store.apple.com/us/questions/product/MC184E/B/apple-wireless-keyboard-spa nish
    Not sure if any of those in the first link will help.
    In any event, good luck!

  • Keyboard delete button and alv response

    Hello friends,
    I have a problem with editable alv.
    In alv grid if i select a line and press the delete button on the keyboard,  then the data is getting deleted.
    i do not want that to happen.
    how can i stop it from happening?
    Note: I am not talking about the delete icon which alv provides. I mean the DELETE BUTTON ON THE KEYBOARD

    I know what you mean, but surely when you are typing it makes sense to have a backspace key and not delete as the cursor is ahead of the error.
    Also, a simple tap on the screen at the place you want to edit also means that you can position the cursor after the error. Then, again, you can use the backspace key.
    Personally, I have never felt the need for a delete key, but you should leave feedback for Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
    I presume you are aware that if you hold your finger on the screen that you can move and select text anywhere on the screen.

  • Delete/Send button on Keyboard

    Is anyone else experiencing difficulty with the delete button being directly above the send button?
    May I suggest a confirm send, as many times I go to delete a spelling error and I accidentally send the message.
    Any thoughts?
    Is this something Blackberry is looking at changing?
    Thanks

    YES!!!!! PLEASE do something about it. I've mis-sent 4 messages in a day, while trying to hit the backspace key.
    Please relocate the send key to the top like in Apple.

  • Delete Button doesn't work

    I have 2 accounts in my Inbox. When the Inbox is highlighted in the Source list ( as opposed to highlighting one of the 2 .Mac accounts) the Delete button works fine when highlighting a message that will be moved to the Trash. However, when an individual account is highlighted and I want to move a messsage to the Trash, the Delete button won't work. Any thoughts ?

    It works for me. Is it the Delete button in the Toolbar that doesn't work, or the Delete key in the keyboard, or what? Doesn't any other way of deleting a message work either (e.g. Edit > Delete)?

  • Table delete button doesn't work with Virtual Forms

    I applied all of Winston Prakash's tips to my project table (http://blogs.sun.com/winston/category/Creator), but my table is not the only component in the page, so I had to use Virtual forms.
    When I add the "Delete" button, i have to put it on a Virtual Form. I followed the steps on the multi selection table and the "Adding a button panel to the table component header" post, but when I select a row, the JavaScript works well (the row changes to yellow)... but the action code gets a :
    getTableRowGroup1().getSelectedRowsCount()==0
    and getTableRowGroup1().getSelectedRowKeys().length==0.
    I tried almost everything with the forms... I don't know what I missed...

    It works for me. Is it the Delete button in the Toolbar that doesn't work, or the Delete key in the keyboard, or what? Doesn't any other way of deleting a message work either (e.g. Edit > Delete)?

  • Delete button and backspace

    I've got a iBook Power Book 4.1 or a Power PC G3. Unlike my G4 desk top, the keyboard does not appear to have a backspace button. The delete button deletes backwards. Is there anyway to delete forward? The Delete on my desktop deletes forward and the backspace deletes backwards. I'm used to this and find it awkward using this iBook as a result.

    Well an icon can't really have a COPYRIGHT, unless it was considered a work of art, like a movie or novel. It certainly can't have a patent, since it isn't a machine or invention. At most it could be trademarked, so that others couldn't use it in advertising for other products. This too seems unlikely. I think all it has is Apple usage guidelines, and reviewers who enforce them and attempt to keep the iPhone useable by making sure standard icons are used in standard ways.

  • Delete Button Disabled in Outlook 2010 with Exchange 2013

    I recently switched from a 3rd party mail software to Microsoft Exchange.  I have had some users ask me why the Delete button is disabled.  I didn't enable any special policy to cause this, and the Delete key on the keyboard will delete messages.
    The disabled Delete button I am referring to is in the Home ribbon and the right-click menu for selected e-mail(s).  Is this standard behavior for Exchange, and can it be changed?

    It so happens that I have an XP VM with Outlook 2007.  That having been said, as previously mentioned, before testing, I (thought I) could confirm the same consistent behavior in the following configurations:
    WinXP + Outlook 2003
    Win7 + Outlook 2010
    Each of these systems was using a different user account, and I have tried folderview repairs in EMC to no avail.
    Strangely, WinXP + Outlook 2007 does not appear to exhibit the behavior.  In this test case, the profile and OST were just created, but switching to folderview or moving the reading pane to the bottom did not affect the behavior.
    Given that information, I proceeded to re-verify, and I hadn't checked winXP + Outlook 2003 because the computer in question had been upgraded to Outlook 2010.  However, I verified the issue does still exist there.  Next, I proceeded to check another
    computer that I thought would be WinXP + Outlook 2003, but it had also been upgraded to Outlook 2010.  This computer did not have the issue, and this leads me to a new theory about the cause (but no closer to resolution).  For the record, of the
    three computers (two exhibiting the issue, one not), only one has the Adobe plugin mentioned in my last post in response to Diane Poremsky, so the issue doesn't appear to be related to that.
    That said, my theory follows:  This is somehow related to IMAP in Outlook 2010.  The computers that exhibit the issue were all previously running IMAP in Outlook 2010, and the IMAP PST filse were imported using the MailboxImportRequest feature.
    I suspect this is related because of other issues that happen for these accounts.  For instance, all new e-mail was only visible in OWA and not Outlook on all folders on these accounts, and I have had to have the users reset filters in the view settings
    for each folder individually.  I don't remember exactly which filter was somehow imported, but it definitely had to do with IMAP.  This may be another red herring, but the behavior is consistent with it.  I should also note that this behavior
    did NOT exist when they were connected via IMAP to the old (non MS) server.  I should also note that the filter behavior is somehow stored on the server (and therefore I imagine the delete button behavior could be as well), because creating a new Windows
    Profile  (and as such, a new Outlook profile and OST file) on a new computer did not make the IMAP filters go away.

  • How do I get delete button back on inbox, it disapeared.

    My delete button has disappeared from my inbox. I have to open email to delete it now. How do I get it back?

    The delete key on your keyboard will always work.
    You can add a delete button to the Mail Toolbar by right clicking that toolbar and selecting Customize. Find the Delete button in the dialog box that opens and drag it onto the Mail Toolbar.
    There is also a delete button on the header of the Message Pane if you have that turned on. Pressing F8 toggles the message pane on and off.

  • Under "History," a specific website with 6 line entries would not respond to the delete button. Is this a dangerous website?

    I delete websites I visit in "History" line by line, and I save the ones I find valuable for viewing in the future. Last week I visited a new website and checked out a few articles. A few days later I was deleting that day's line items I did not want to revisit. This particular website would not let me delete any of it's line items, no matter what. It was Just this website. Never have I encountered this problem. I had to go into Firefox and delete this particular website under "Forget this Site." Any answer as to why?

    ''guigs2 [[#answer-680061|said]]''
    <blockquote>
    That is how I delete individual websites from history, what steps were you taking to delete the site entry?
    </blockquote>
    I usually just highlight websites under a specific day of "history" and hit the delete button on my keyboard. Gone.
    When that didn't work for the one website, I tried right clicking that line, and a variety of other things. The specific website just would not go away. I just did not want to delete 7 days of history at one swipe of the delete key. Finally I went out to Firefox's 'Getting Started,' and in the left column was 'Privacy & Security Settings.' There is a section under Privacy & Security Settings called Delete Browsing Search and Download History. I read those items to see if there was something I was missing. One was called "How do I remove a single website from my history?" Followed instructions and just that website popped up. Highlighted those items from that site and deleted. Gone. Still do not know why the website would not delete in the first place. Makes a paranoid more paranoid about websites watching you.

  • Photoshop CS3 delete button

    I've just switched from PC to Mac and I'm having some problems with photoshop. One thing is that when I make a selection and then press the delete button. On my PC the button was a shortcut for the "clear" command but on my Mac nothing happens. I can customize the keyboard shortcuts in photoshop but it's impossible to set the delete button as a shortcut for clear.
    The button simply won't work in photoshop. It works great in all other applications.
    Any solution?

    The button for this on the Mac version is the Backspace key. Not all mac keyboards have the del. button* so i guess this is why they make the backspace key the default. Maybe its just something you will need to get used to. You have to use the apple/command key for certain shortcuts now anyway so its only one more adjustment to make.
