Delete child from family sharing

My 9yr old daughter has a new iPod Touch. After not been able to create an Apple ID for her she now has two. I have tried to delete one but it seems I can not for someone under 13 other than transferring them to another Family Sharing group. This is crazy, surely there must be a way of deleting a childs Apple ID. Also when she downloads One Direction I don't want to have 1D appear in my iTunes etc etc so how do I go about sorting that out?

I have the same question. I'm about sick of reading people referring me to the above link that King refers to. Primarily becuase it does NOT address the question at hand. That question is "How do you delete a child Apple ID?". I know I've seen that you can not remove adult ones, but apple does not you "can" do it, but doesn't show "how" to do it. In my personal case, I need to delete the one I made and create a new one. This is because having an incorrect child apple ID in my family share takes 1 spot away from my sharing. I need to remove the child ID from my share plan to create a corrected apple ID for her. The above linke King posted states,
"Children under 13 can't be removed from a family. If you need to, you can transfer the child to another family or delete their apple ID." Now..the phrase "child to another family" is hyperlinked and clearly shows how to do this. But the "delete their apple ID" is NOT hyperlinked. So we continue to search for our original answer that I haven't found since iOS 8 was released and I bought my iphone 6 on release day.
Now on that topic, the family share is messed up HARD for children. Heres why, while I wait to find out how to delete the incorrectly typed apple ID I made, I tested how it works for my 6 y/o, who was very excited to get her own iphone 5 (w/o cell cervice, glorified itouch).
1.) While testing it out with the bad ID, I created the family share as the ogranizer. I then added my wife and made her a Parent/Guardian". Howver, despite this, when the "child" ID requests permission to purchase something in itunes, it only sends it to my wife and not me. This shoudl go to both parents! If you want one or the other, make a setting. Otherwise, if its flagged as an organizer or parent, they should have the power. After all, as the organizer, she was verified as MY child through my credit card but I can't authorize the purchase as the organizer. Do what? Come on!
2.) When my daughter asks to buy something, she has to put in a password. This is simply nuts. My 6 y/o needs to put in a password for PERMISSION to ask her parents to buy something. Of which the parents then authorizes the purchase via either a password or fingerprint scan. What non-parent thought this up?
3.) To update an app on my daughters iphone requires her to request permission for each and every app, despite there being an update all. This means, she has to put the password in on every...single...update...individually. Update all does not work. This means we need to authorize each update too...My God...really?
4.) On the topic of passwords. Again, CHILD account ID. Apple requires passwords to be 8 characters, has to have an upper and lower case, can't be a simple word, has to have a number. I mean..lets sit and think about this. a CHILD with such a complex password needing to be entered each time to update an individual app and ask permisison. If its a child, it means the responsibility should be put on the parent. Have the OS route the request to ME and let me put the password in for my child.
5.) Whats the point of Auto Update? I mean, if I APPROVED these apps to go on my daughters phone, then it should AUTO UPDATE itself! It does not! Really?
6.) How can apple advise in the FAQ's to delet the apple child ID but doesn't hyper link to it? Is someone really that dense? It sure scares the DEATH out of me to try apple PAY! >.<
7.) As I sit here looking at my family share settings, this very second, and I look at my daughters ID in there (the incorrect one I need to fix), there is nice itty bitty language on how to transfer an apple ID and a hyperlink there. This is a GREAT spot for DELETE APPLE ID! You know, I even logged into apples main management Apple ID section...you can't even delete the ID there either.
8.) The WHOLE point of the family share is so you can share up to 6 people. BUT, if you try to download prior purchases on the new account's, you get an error message saying that this was previously purchased BUT you are unable to download it (For what ever reason) on every one. Thank GOD I realized I can manually FORCE the crap onto her phone by pushing it from my desktop computer to hers.
I mean...how can a "high tech" company be so obtuse? If you can't get CHILDREN policy right, how will your Apple Pay policy work out?

Removing myself from family sharing group.

Can anyone share with me the steps to remove myself from family sharing in Yosemite? I tried to setup family sharing but the system is telling me I already belong to a family. I am unaware of this and don't know the steps to look up the parent relationship for deletion. So I'm looking for ways to either find out who the parent is or a self deletion process. Try calling Tech Support, they should be able to check to see if theres a lock and try to help you reset it, I had to call and get my account unflagged, for something that I didn't even do.

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

Delete under 13 year old apple ID from Family Sharing?

I accidentally input the wrong birth year for my daughter when enrolling her apple ID. She was also added to my family sharing. How do I either correct her birthdate associated with her apple ID or remove her from Family Share? She is currently enrolled as under 13 years old.

login to appleid.apple.com and login as the child
the the click the password section and answer the 2 questions.
then the birthday appears but it's grey and u can't do anything.

You can remove a family member by going to Settings > iCloud > Family, tap the family member you want to remove, scroll down and tap Remove….
If the account that you want to remove is a child’s account and is under the age of 13, they can only be transferred. Everything you need to know about this is in the article below.

HT5622 When setting up an apple ID for a child in family sharing, the verification questions appear in French, even though the iPhone setting is in English...

Possible bug? Setting up apple id for child, under icloud, family sharing, and the 3 questions come up in Frnech, even though the phone is set to English and the remainder of screens have all been in English,

I found this 'bug' out the other day when getting ready for my new iPhone I was setting up my iPad with some new apps too and wanted to work with Find My iPhone.
Here's the deal; my main AppleID is just a simple 'Username' not a '[email protected]' AppleID.
I've had this since the need for AppleIDs were used for these forums and the iTunes Store, AppStore, etc.
So it works fine and well with that stuff but not with find my iphone on my iPad as it wants a full email account, either a '@me.com' or a '[email protected]' AppleID which I did create but I think it was used as Job profile or something other along those lines (NOT used for a MobileMe account or .mac either).
And I only have access to one email now and I dont feel comfortable having multiple email addresses that I dont check or have no use for, call my simple or naive but thats just how it goes.
What I'd like to do is be able to use either AppleID for my Find My iPhone app and everything else.
And I think thats a good point, '@me.com's for all. make it a whole lot easier in my opinion.

My itunes account, apple.com store account, appstore account, main AppleID for the past couple years it "Maxwell Stanley" but it does NOT work with Find My iPhone. So i created [email protected] (example.com is in place of my true email domain for privacy reasons) and that doesnt work as it statse it Cannot Be used.
My 'Maxwell Stanley" Apple ID's email associated with it was [email protected] i tried changing it to [email protected] but still doesnt recognize that as an AppleID even though its associated with "Maxwell Stanley".
I event ried to use the SAME email that is associated with my 2nd AppleID '[email protected]' with the appleid 'Maxwell Stanley' and no dice.
running out of options it seems.

Family cannot download from family sharing because it asks for code from cancelled card

I'm the primary user on family sharing and have recently put a new card on the account. When my boyfriend goes to download music or update an app it continues to ask him for the verification code for the cancelled card. How do I fix this?

That is because the App you are trying to update is associated with a different Apple ID. Apps and other purchases are tied to the apple ID that they were initially downloaded with.
Your options are:
1. Enter the password associated with the Apple ID being prompted for, or
2. Delete the App and then redownload it using your current Apple ID. If it is a free app, no problem. If it is a paid app, you would have to pay for it.

I can't install or buy some apps after opting out from Family sharing

I created family sharing and used it with my brother. Then I dismissed it. When I try to install or buy apps, which previously were bought by him, appstore requires to enter a password from my brother's icloud. Even if I install a free app.

THe problem has been resolved by signing out and then signing in my Appstore apple id.

My husband is on family sharing with me which is working great except he keeps getting my reminders. Family seems to be the default in reminder settings and I can't seem to delete it. I obviously want to share things with him just not reminders. Would be grateful for any help

Error when creating child account family sharing

I'm trying to get my whole family to participate in iOS 8 / iCloud Family sharing - both my children are younger than 13 years of age, so I need to create children accounts for them. Problem is that we use VISA-Dankort which seems to be debet cards, and Apple seems only to accept credit cards at the moment, so I can't create accounts for my children.
I have tried to find a solution to this, but in vain. It seems Mastercard works fine, we just dont use them, and our bank charges an annual fee, so I'm not keen on getting those creditcards.
My main point in using family sharing is the option of accepting app store buys from my device, when my children want to download apps to their iphones.
Anyone come up with a good solution for this?

A different browser should fix the issue. However if you are hooked on the current browser you are using, or do not have an alternate one installed, a simple restart of your computer will generally clear up this error. Let me know if this is the case for you as well.
