Delete Client 066 Earlywatch
Hi all,
in former times client earlywatch was required for SAPs remote access to SAP instances.
But now is there still a need to keep client 066 or can it be deleted?
Thanks for your help!
Cheers,
Chris.
Can you explain to us why you want to delete it? What do you expect to gain from this?

>> I have try to connect in client 000 and 001 with sap* and ddic and all is ok.
That is ok.
>> But with the client 066 i can't login with sap* ( i have enter the master password but nothing)...
That is ok, too. Please refer to the following documentation:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/52/671785439b11d1896f0000e8322d00/content.htm
Clients 000, 001 and 066 are created when your SAP System is installed. Two special users are defined in clients 000 and 001. Since these users have standard names and standard passwords, you must secure them against unauthorized use by outsiders who know of their existence.
Note that no special user is created in client 066
>> I have seen that with Brtool i can modifie a password but ihave never done this opération before
You can modify the password of the database users with the brtools ... not for SAP*.

How to delete client (urgent plz help me )
hi friends
i have created a client in my system and i have done client copy in my system (local client copy) why copying i got an error that is there is no enough space in the drive so i want to delete the client and copyed data .can any one help it urgent
thanks in advance
by sanHi SAN,
1. log into the client to delete
2. go into SCC5 and delete client
3. log into another client and delete entry with SCC4
4. reorg database to recover database space.
Actually, if you check "on" the little "Delete Entry from T000" checkbox, you can skip step 3.
One other way of deleting a client which could give significant performance gain and save time is at OS level using - R3trans
To delete a client( eg: 100 ), you have to create a command file "del100" with following entries
Clientremove
Client = 100
Select *
Place the command file in /usr/sap/trans/bin
$ cd /usr/sap/trans/bin
$ R3trans w <log file name> -u 1 <command file name >
e.g $ R3trans -w del100.log -u 1 del100
To check the progress...
$ tail -f del100
Also, check this link
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/69/c24c9c4ba111d189750000e8322d00/content.htm
Check this SAP Note for DB reorganization 417539
Hope this will help you.
Hari.

Reorg the database post client delete -
Hi,
We have different clients in our development & quality system, some of them are nothing but the copy of production client. Periodically we create some new clients & there is no requirement of old clients for us.
What should I do to delete the client?
Shall I lock the client or delete the client? How to lock a client & How to delete a client? Please suggest.
Regards,
RajeshHi Rajesh,
Its always a good practise to keep the system clean and remove unwanted clients. Every new client has storage requirements and puts load on the database as you keep adding new clients. You can use transaction SCC5 to delete client, you can check 'test run' and test the deletion process as well.
Also, every time you delete a client a large amount DML operations are executed at the database level. If the client contains large amount of transactional data, its a good practise to switch off archive logging at database level to speed up the process, else you will have to also have the overhead of keeping the archiving filesystem free.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Cannot Delete Client Variables
Summary: I have a logout page that deletes session and client
variables. When I execute the page, the CF debugging information
notes that all the session and client vars have been deleted.
However, when I execute another page in the same application and on
the same browser, that page's debugging info notes that the client
var stll exists. How is the server showing that the client var
doesn't exist one page, but exists on another? (I am using CF MX

/AJI continuely have this same problem, so if someone has any
insight on whats up with this... please.
let me ask you this though... where is your setting of your
variable located? is it in the appplication.cfm page?
if it is this might be the problem. even though you are
deleting the var in your delete page, the application page is
present and will persist the var because ... it knows... -
I have created a transport to change Daylight saving Time (DST) in client (066) and each time I entered SCC1 to copy the transport, I will received MSG:
TARGET CLIENT IS PRODUCTIVE AND PROTECTED AGAINST CLIENT COPY.
I opened Prod via SCC4 and change the protect level to 0, but I still received the same message above.
I am installing SAP NOTE 1022730. The note was successfully installed in all business client with the exception on (066, 001).
How can I update the two clients via transport request?
Thank you in advance for your assistance. This is not a SAPGUI question Refer to proper forum.

When are DDIC and SAP* used in Client 066 and 001
Hi everyone,
Can someone please shed some light on when DDIC and SAP* users are supposed to be used in logging into client 066 and 001?
Your inputs will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Divine Grace BanzonUser DDIC is a user with special privileges in installation, software logistics, and the ABAP Dictionary. The user master record is created in clients 000 and 001 when you install your R/3 System.
User SAP* is default superuser in SAP System, in the clients 000 and 001. A user master record is defined for SAP* when the system is installed. However, SAP* is programmed in the system and does not require a user master record.
Hope this will help.

How to recover a deleted Client.........?
Hi,
As mentioned in the previous post, recovering a client is only possible by restoring the last back up. However, before deleting a client in most cases, a copy of that client will be maintained in Dev or any other system. You can perform a remote client copy again to get the client back.

How to Delete Transport request for Delete client
Hi guys,
We are going for upgrade from 46C to ECC.
we found client XXX does not exists but Transport request for the client XXX does exists. so we plan to delete it or release it before going to upgrade.
But SAP does not allow me to delete or release it. Is there any special way to deal this issue.
Please suggest me.
Thanks
JaichanYou could have the lost client XXX recreated again by system administrator using a "minimal" client copy (just users), should take only minutes and not much disk space.
Then you can release or delete the transports, afterwards delete the client again.
I don't know another way of doing it.
Thomas
P.S. all the other replies so far do not take into account that you cannot change transports that were created in a different client.
P.P.S did you ever look at the long text for message TK056? This clearly explains your options here
To transfer the request to the current client, proceed as follows:
1. Go to the request overview.
2. Position the cursor on the request and choose Request/task -> Display/change.
You are asked if you want to copy the request and all tasks belonging to it to the current client.
3. Answer "Yes".
The request is copied to the current client, and can then be edited as normal.
Note
For this procedure, you require the "Change source client" authorization contained in the SAP standard authorization S_CTS_TR_ALL.
You can copy only your own requests to another client.
In order to copy other users' requests, you first have to assign them to you.
You can reassign the request to you in another client only if the original client no longer exists (prerequisite: You want all client-specific entries to be deleted).
I was not aware of this up to right now...
