Delete command on NewsExplorer layout set

Hi guys,
I have created an iView that uses the layout set NewsExplorer to display my XML forms. Everything is ok, except that there are two options for each item (Edit and Delete) and I only want the Edit command.
How can I remove the Delete option from my NewsExplorer layout set? I am using EP6.0 SP9.

1.Navigate to System Administration->System Configuration-> Knowledge Management->Configuration->Content Management->User Interface->Settings->Layout Set
2. Edit NewsExplorer
3. Click on NewsResourceRenderer
4. Click on NewsGroup
5. Edit NewsGroup and remove all the commands except edit and delete.

3.4 deleted my custom keyboard layout settings

Hi,
just a nasty bug report. On all my Macs (iMac 27" early 2009 and mid 2011; MPB 15" early 2008 - all running 10.8.2) Aperture 3.4 update deleted my custom keyboard layout setting. It is just gone....
You better make backup before you update. I wonder what I will discover next....
Seems to me like Aperture will never be a great piece of software...

How did you create the custom keyboard layout? Using a plug-in? Or do mean the custom command settings? My custom command settings are still there. The presets are stored in the User library if you need to restore them.
~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Command Sets/My Commands.apcommands
If you used plug-ins to configure Aperture, check out if they are still compatible. The recent version accepts only sandboxed plug-ins:

Layout Set - Suggestions?

Overview
I have a KM iView that allows users to create forms and store them in a KM folder (/documents/broadcasts).
So when the user accesses the iView they see a left Menu Tree displaying:
Broadcast
     - Folder 1
     - Folder 2
     - Folder 3
When the user clicks on their folder they see the forms they have created. In order to create a new form the user clicks Folder->New->Forms this allows them to select between News or Announcement. When they make a selection the correct form shows up etc...
Everything works fine but I would like to simplify things for the End users. Here is what I would like to change:
Issue 1
There is a horizontal menu above the Menu Tree showing 5 context menus (View, Folder, Selection, GoTo, and Search). I really don't want users to have access to all of these menus but since I didn't create any of this I am unsure how to remove the menus. I am assuming they come with the Layout Set used for the iView?
Issue 2
Having the user click Folder->New->Forms is also very confusing and I would rather have just the New menu at the top (as WPC shows) which gives the user the News and Announcement options. So they would Click New->Forms or just New->
If anyone has any suggestions or pointers I would appriciate it.

I would suggest using 2 layout sets... The NewsExplorer layout set for the sub-folders and maybe ConsumerExplorer for the root layout set. The iView would have the "Layout Set" as NewsExplorer and the "Layout Set for Root Collection" as ConsumerExplorer.
You might need to make a copy of the NewsExplorer layout set and add the 'Back' button to the collection renderer so users can get back out of the sub-folders.
Issue 1 will be handled by the fact that you're not using the AdminExplorer or other Tree List with Menu layout set.
Issue 2 should be handled by the NewsExplorer layout set which just gives a list of the Forms available to the folder with 'new' in front.

Search UI Layout Set

Hi,
I have configured a Search iView with my own Layout Set (advanced copy of SearchResultLayoutSet as XYZSearchResultLayoutSet). The search results successfully display using XYZSearchResultLayoutSet. I have a See Also link.
The problem is, when I click the See Also link, the new results do not display in the Layout Set that I created - XYZSearchResultLayoutSet. Can someone please help me understand why this happens.
One thing I tried was to change the Parameters under see_also command and put rndLayoutSet=XYZSearchResultLayoutSet.

Is there a way to delete a custom window layout?

I accidentally saved a custom window layout without naming it first, and I'd really like it to be properly named. Is there a way to either delete the custom window layout itself or rename it?

Additional I make every night (less til no db activity) a dump and compress it myself.

google found some questions, but not fittung answers.
So far:
- I checked the folder & users rights.
- I found some /tmp/ files - yes I "backup" the backuped archivelogs to-delete files in /tmp - I only active archivelogmode so I can onlinebackup
- I managed to login via rman and execute DELETE OBSOLETE manual - result above.
- Actual I delete the set one by one to find the problem set. (delete backupset 12345 ) from the list manually.
Some a good idea what went wrong?
additional: Is there a way to let oracle delete the empy archvielog-directories after deleting the logs within?

No different effect, if I changed the filename via 2nd terminal to .bak or not.

I have a Bootcamp partition on my Imac with Mavericks which I can't delete because the Partition Layout is greyed out and is stuck on 'Current'. What can I do?

I have a Bootcamp partition on my Imac with Mavericks which I can't delete because the Partition Layout in Disk Utility is greyed out and is stuck on 'Current'. What can I do? I was trying to install Windows 8.1 but apparently, this is not yet possible.
I was originally able to restore to my original Mac OSX partition using Boot Camp Assistant but then after entering Disk Utility and re-RAIDing the default RAID 1 to RAID 0 in the BootCamp partition (I suspect this is the cause of the problem but why was it defaulted to RAID 1 in the first place?!!!!), forever afterwards, I couldn't restore the single OSX partition.
Whenever I used BootCamp Assistant my choice to 'Install or remove Windows 7 or later version' was greyed out. Finally I went to Disk Utility to repartition but the Macintosh HD and BootCamp disk partition functions were also greyed out (even if I started up from Recovery mode holding down option, command and 'R' and choosing Disk Utility). BootCamp Assistant gives the error message 'The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition' with additional small script 'The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows', and DU gives the error message 'The full size of the Fusion drive is not available for repartitioning'.
What can I do to fix this problem? How can I make the Partition Layout button active in DU so I can change the partition to all OSX? I'm prepared to wipe off all my data etc to repartition and have backed up all to disk using Time Machine.

My problem is fixed now, thank you. It was caused by my changing the Boot Camp partition's 'RAID1' to 'RAID0'. If I hadn't done that, Boot Camp would still have been able to 'restore' back to the one partition. It was fixed with the help of Applecare by using a terminal and typing a command to erase the IP of the Macintosh disk (not the volume) as well as the IP of the Bootcamp partition (if I remember correctly), but then I had to restore the OS and all my applications and data etc which I had previously backed up using Time Machine. I haven't taken note of the exact command terminology used. It would be wise to speak to Applecare about this if possible.
Two words of warning, 1. According to the cause of this problem, it might be wise, after reinstalling the ops system to reinstall all extra applications one by one, manually, in case a similar problem arises again. Then manually copy back all data. Or the Mac user could use the Time Machine backup and then uninstall all the added apps then re-install them one by one manually. 2. Beware as after all this the user might not have the 'Recovery partition'. There is a small recovery partition (a few 100 Mb is size) which comes with all later Macs. After all this is done this tiny partition might not be there anymore and the user might have to re-install Mavericks again to get it back, or just install the upcoming update of Mavericks due in a month or so.

How to get a list of Layout Sets

How do I get a list of Layout sets in Portal ?
I am using a KM Navigation IView to show a list of External Links. I have used a copy of Links IView for this. The Layout set used here is "LinkListExplorer".
The problem with this layout set is it provides an option of Organize Entries to all End users. An end user might potentially delete a link or edit it due to this.
I want to get rid of Organize Entries feature in this IView, which I feel can be achieved only by changing Layout of the IVIew.
Please guide me to list of Layout sets or a way to maintain permissions for Links IView.

Customize the layout set used when opening a folder in search result list?

Hi,
I have created a search result iView that uses a predefined search query to show a list of folders. If I click on a folder (rnd:displayname(contentLink)) its content is displayed in a new window. Here the layout set Consumer Explorer (default profile?) is used.
I want to use a custom layout set in this window. How can I achieve this?

Normally, as you can see in the above mentioned <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/25/59bb2eece725498427334e0e21b80c/content.htm">Priority of Settings</a>, whenever the KM Navigation component (com.sap.km.cm.navigation) is opened without a specific layout set the global default layout set is used. As you can give this parameters by different ways (as URL parameter, in the KM Navigation iView configuration, via OTH file definition, hardcoded or configured in the configuration of an UI Command, etc.) it is nearly impossible to find all situation where your users will get this default profile.
The UI Commands (with selection) you mentioned like "copy","move","create_link" use the configured LayoutSet (ConsumerOnlyFolderSelector) from the KM Configuration (of the command).

Search Layout Set

Hi all,
We are trying to implement 2 search layout sets such that one layout renders the search result to end users without the 'Details' link and the other renders the results to Content administrators with the Details link.
If it would be considerably easier we wouldn't mind having two separate search iviews carrying two distinct Layout sets and then assign the respective Iviews to the respective roles.
We're on EP 6 SP4.

First duplicate the existing layoutsets by going to systemadministration>systemconfiguration> Knowledgemanagement> contentManagement>user interface
using duplicate and then remove the command groups from the displayed list for details and save it in the iview level use in property editoe use layoutset as your duplicated one and layoutset mode as FORCE.hope this helps you.please do n,t forget to give points

Custom Layout Set

Hi people.
I am trying to create new, custom layout set, by copying existing sets and adding / removing features.
My target is to create a layout set similar to ConsumerExplorer, but with a small addition - "Search" option.
I have tried to play with the Admin breadcrumb, and also tried to add "Search from here" command through UI Commands, but unsuccessful.
Could anyone please tell me how I can add the "Search" option to ConsumerExplorer without showing the whole admin toolbar?
Points will be awarded, of course.

Xml forms not rendered in default layout set - urgent

Hi guys,
I've to display several properties and to provide the rating and feedback service in conjunction with xml forms because a "NewsRenderer" doesn't support the display of additional properties.
So I tried to use one of the default layout sets (e.g. "Consumer Explorer") but the xml forms are not rendered after selecting the "contentLink" (displays raw content of xml document). I'm looking quite a long for a command that opens and renders the xml forms in a new window - without any success...

Understanding the dataadapter.delete command

I'm new to ADO and ODP so forgive me if I'm missing the obvious. I want to do a simple delete from the database. The problem is I feel like I have to issue the delete command twice. The code I've posted blow works but I don't understand why. I create two commands one a select command the second a delete command. I apply these commands to a dataadapter and then use dataadapter .fill() to get a dataset.
Great it works fine up to this point. The problem was when I called dataadapter.update nothing would happen. The delete command was ignored. So I looped through the resulting dataset and deleted the record from there. Then I called dataadapter.update and it worked. I tried not setting the dataadapter.deletecommand but then update failed.
Now my question is: Is it always necessary to delete from a dataset as well as issue a delete command or is there a way of issuing just one delete command? Is it possible to simplify my code?
Any suggestions or help greatly appreciated.

Because the dataset is disconnected from the database. This allows you to load some data (into your dataset), disconnect from the network or whatever, make whatever changes you like and have none of this affect the data in the database until you issue the update.
If you actually want to have your changes applied immediately then you can (assuming your application is constantly connected of course). Don't bother with a dataset/data adaptor at all. For example set up the sql select statement, assign it to a reader, execute the reader, store the rows returned in some custom objects or whatever. Make some changes and then use executeNonQuery to apply the updates, either one at a time or as a batch using array binding. There is a samples folder where you installed ODP.NET, have a look at some of the others.

Undo Message Delete command is sometimes present, sometimes not

I've noticed that sometimes the Undo Message Delete command is present after I delete a message
but other times it isn't - all that's there is Undo which is greyed out. Does anyone know the conditions
under which the Undo Message Delete command appears? I haven't found any consistent pattern.
I know the message can be manually moved back from the Trash but I've found that occasionally I've inadvertently
deleted a message without knowing which message it is which makes it rather hard to find in the Trash.
