Delete computer to computer setup

emac, 1gig ram, 10.4.11
I have been trying to connect to the internet via linksys router with no result. the emac does not recognize the ethernet cable. I decided to try Airport wireless connect. I see that Airport is setup to work "computer to computer? How can I delete that and connect to the current wifi? When I check the option to "disconnect from computer to computer", it will not disconnect so I can change airport to the current network at the home. I have deleted the plist for airport with no luck.
How can I delete the computer to computer setup?

IMAP's main function is to keep things in sync. You can't have things both ways.
You could try setting up your computer as POP instead, but I'm pretty sure that would break more than it would fix.

  • Problems deleting computer objects-because of their subordinate objects

We are running a 2008 R2 domain.  We have recently removed our techs out of Account Operators because we have read that is best practice.  Our techs now have problems deleting computer account objects that have the msmq active directory objects
beneath the computer object.  Even if I give the techs full control permissions on those computer objects, they cannot delete them because they cannot delete the msmq subordinate AD objects.  The msmq objects are not showing a security tab, like
other subordinate objects do.  If I delete the msmq objects with a Domain Admin account, then the techs can delete the computer objects.  Any ideas of how I can fix it so they can delete the msmq objects, without being Account Operators?
    Thanks,
    Dan Heim

    Hello,
    please see
http://policelli.com/blog/archive/2009/11/06/understanding-adminsdholder-and-protected-groups/ and start with removing the flag for the mentioned accounts. Therefore see "Orphaned AdminSDHolder Objects" in the mentioned article.

  • New Computer setup for cs6 (PR and AE)

I jumped head first into the great world of computer building and built my first work station....but all is not going so well lol.  Its taking forever to edit and render a five min kick-starter video. My question is how do I know I am setting up my  hard drives right. I have followed this link  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/662972.
    my setup is: C:SSD(Programs,cache)
                       D:1TB-7200(scratch,Projects)
                       E:RAID 0(MEDIA) two 450GB raptors
Z:16GB RAM DISK? what should I use this for?

Ceasy, definitely get rid of the Hiberfil.sys file, it's probably eating 16GB on your SSD and constantly getting written to, and you're not going to hibernate your system so you don't need it.
Windows provides a GUI to supposedly delete the file but often it doesn't truly disable that whole functionality. You definitely want to do it at the Command Line with admin privileges. If you know what that means, then just fire up a cmd window as Admin and run this:  powercfg.exe -h off
If you don't know what a Command Line is, do this:
Click the Start Orb in Windows 7 (lower left of screen, of course)
immediately type cmd in the search box
Search will display a few icons as results, with the desired one near the top of the list: it'll show as cmd.exe
Right-Click and pin that to your Start Menu, you might as well, you'll need the Command Line from time to time.
Once it's on the Start Menu, you can right-click it and Run As Administrator
Voila, you are at the Command Line as Admin. Now type powercfg.exe -h off and hit Enter, and the hiberfil.sys thing is done and gone.
I would highly suggest you get cache OFF of that SSD and stick it on a regular drive elsewhere. Harm's guide will explain all of that.
Also, make sure you are getting full use of your RAM. I have DDR3 1600 ram, but my EVGA motherboard boots up at a default 1066. I had to go into the BIOS and turn on XMP support. Once I rebooted, it showed 1600 speed in the startup screen. I don't overclock, but that step is necessary to get the most out of your ram, whatever speed it is. Your mobo may already have it on, but do check.
    Have fun!

  • Bitlocker to Go and deleted computer object

When encrypting a USB drive using Bitlocker to Go and storing the recovery information in AD, where does it get stored?  Is it in the computer object like regular Bitlocker?  If so, if the computer is retired or the AD computer account is deleted,
do you lose the recovery information for that drive?

    Hi,
Backed up BitLocker recovery information is stored in a child object of the computer object. That is, the computer object is the container for a BitLocker recovery object. If you delete a computer object from AD, you will also delete the BitLocker recovery
information, which is a child object.
But you can use AD restore mode to retrieve the deleted object.

  • Can't delete computer account

    Hi there...
Setting up a mac mini server to work as a primary domain controller.
I added a machine to the domain, which failed (something to do with can't get RID of user)...
Now when I try to add the computer again (windows 7 PC), I get an error that it can't be done as a PC with this name already exists on the domain. Which is fine.
When I go into Workgroup manager, I see the PC that has been added : ramon$
When click the delete button, I get prompted that the computer will be deleted and that this action isn't reversible. All good so far.
However, when I press the refresh account, the computer name shows up again in the list. And sure enough, I can not re-add the windows PC to the domain, as I'm getting an error that it already exists.
Anyone familiar with this issue? I can not see any errors anywhere, and Console doesn't show any useful error.
    Thanks

    Try the following -
    1. In Workgroup Manager go to preferences and turn on the "Show All Records tab and Inspector"
    2. Click on the target symbol that now shows up next to the User/Group/Computers/Computer Groups choices
    3. In the drop down menu choose "Computers"
    4. You will now have a list of all the computers, find the one you want to delete and select it.
    5. Now press the delete Icon at the top of the window.

  • Delete computer authorization of a stolen computer from an other computer.

My wifes computer got stolen a few days ago. Can I delete the ITunes computer authorization of that computer from an other computer?

The only way to delete a computer you haven't got is if you have reached the limit of 5 authorisations, you can de-authorise all computers once a year from a single one: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and possibly there is something that can be done from their end. You can email them from any of the links on this page: iTMS Customer Service

  • Deleted computer object from SCCM console, so why is it still appearing in SSRS reports?

We recently divested about 400 computers from our network. I got a list of these computers and deleted them from both Active Directory and in the SCCM Console. I know the deletes were successful because when I search via device name in the SCCM console
they no longer show up. Yet when I run one of our inventory reports in SSRS I still see several of the devices that I deleted listed there. I thought SSRS represented a" live view" of the SCCM database. If that's true then how can a computer object
that I deleted in the console still be present in the database? Is there something I'm missing?

Okay you are saying to select from v_R_System_Valid instead of v_R_System in my query and that will automatically filter out items I removed in the console? Okay that sounds like what I want, the only problem is my query is selecting form v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.
Can I just add "_Valid" to the end of that and achieve the same result?
Update - Yeah no I tried that and it did not work. Clearly I have a very limited understanding of the SQL views. Interestingly enough Torsten I see you posted a linbk on your blog to a new Microsoft article that documents the SQL views in SCCM 2012. Looking
    at it now...

  • 2 Ipods - 1 Computer - Setup to Itunes Account

I have an ipod that I had an Itunes account with and have had no problems.
My son just received an ipod. He had hooked his Ipod into the computer using my itunes account. All the songs I had -got into his ipod. He then proceeded to download more songs off of Itunes. But then I had problems when I plugged mine in. So I think he would need his own account.
I've been looking through the forums and realized he just has to sign in on his user screenname. Makes sense. So we did and got an account set up.
However, when I plugged his ipod in it showed up using my name? Also it says that his Ipod is synced with a different users library (which would be mine). It says it will have to erase everything in his Ipod.
I know if I erase everything then he starts using his account it would work. However, how do I get the songs that he downloaded on my user name to his user name?? Also if we go ahead and erase his Ipod and plug it in will his username be correct or will it still be under my name??
If someone has a idea or solution please let me know. I'm not really great with computers so If I could get step by step directions I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by your question about erasing his iPod and having it still be under your name, but as for putting the songs he has in your library over into his library, that's not too hard.
One way is to find out where they are located on your hard drive (which folder, and the pathway to get there). I could be more specific if I knew what OS you were using.
Anyway, open his account and iTunes. Go to "File: Add File to library." Navigate to where the files on (via the pathway you just looked up) and import the songs into his library. You can then delete them out of yours as it will copy the file for him.

  • How do i sync my iphone music with computer without deleting computer

How do I upload my iphone music to my MacBook Pro without deleting the music that I already have on my MacBook Pro?

Follow the steps given here to get your iPhone synced to another computer.
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard

  • Best computer setup

Here is what I'm considering.  Would it make sense to keep the ipad we have, the 2 iPhones and then replace our PC laptop with a MacBook Pro OR would it be a better setup to buy an iMac desktop computer and perhaps purchase another ipad or ipad mini for my wife so we both have iPads?  I think you may get more "bang for your buck" with the desktop and then the iPads give the mobility u need.  Any thoughts on this would be great.  Also is an iMac or MacBook Pro worth the extra cost over a PC?  Thanks

Also is an iMac or MacBook Pro worth the extra cost over a PC?
The $64,000 question, and as 71 correctly says, only subjective answers are really possible.
BUT (with due allowances for the date):
A Customer Experience Index report from Forrester Research came to the conclusion after studying almost 4,600 computer users' experiences from 2008 and asking them to score the ease of use of their computers, how enjoyable the experience is and whether or not the systems fulfill their owners' needs.
    http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/09/04/17/apple_trumps_windows_pc_makers_in_ customer_experience_study.html
PC World (December 2010) has also found Apple products and after-sales service the most reliable:
    http://www.pcworld.com/article/211074/the_tech_brands_you_can_trust.html
The choice between Windows and the Apple OS really boils down to what applications you mainly use, and what system has so far been the mainstay of your own 'comfort zone'.

  • Delete computer authorization for adobe digital editions

I bought a new computer and therefore I should delete the authorization for my old one. How can I manage this?

Thank you for your quick reply.  I already gave the computer away - therefore I think I have to wait until the authorizations run out.
If Adobe resets  all authorizations what happens to the files I saved in ADE? Are they  deleted then?

  • Delete Computer object VS Disjoin

Quick question on AD administration to help resolve an internal debate:
We're running AD on Windows Server 2008 R2.  One admin states that "deleting doesn't remove all AD objects", and that you need to run a disjoin on the machine first to properly remove the Computer Object.  Can anyone confirm this?
Which is the correct way to remove objects in AD?
It's my understanding that no matter what, you'll end up running a delete command, which marks the object as deleted; this gets replicated to all other DC's, and whenever the tombstone lifetime expires, then a cleanup process will finally and forever remove
the tombstone objects.  If you don't run a "disjoin" command first, will there be any other lingering objects that need special care and consideration??
Any info is appreciated.  Thanks much.

Hi - This is _how_ it works:
A domain unjoin comes down to the NetUnJoinDomain() API call documented at:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa370644(v=vs.85).aspx
There is two scenarios that can happen, either the account get's disabled (by default) if you unjoin using the UI, or it's not disabled leaving out the misnamed flag 'NETSETUP_ACCT_DELETE' that actually means disable and not delete.
The computer account is only disabled regardless of the flag if the user that performs the unjoin has the rights to disable the computer account in AD, e.g write to the userAccountControl attribute.
The computer account (object) in AD is never deleted from AD during a unjoin.
How ever the importance of clean up here is that the computer accounts password is cleared from the LSA during a unjoin, so it can't be used to authenticate against AD in case that the computer account is NOT being disabled for one of the reasons mentioned
    above.
Deleting the computer object from AD is like deleting any other object in AD, it stays for the TSL until it's ultimately removed from the database.

  • Minor problem deleting computation

Using APEX 2.2.1.00.04, I get this error:
    1 error has occurred
    * Computation action must be specified.
when trying to delete from a page any computation that statically assigns nothing (i.e., NULL). Entering some text in the computation source and clicking Delete again is a workaround.
    Rodney

Since the actual compuation is a required field I am guessing the validation that it is not null runs all the time rather than just upon apply changes.

A: Why won't AirPort Utility find my Netgear Router?
AirPort Utility works only with an Apple router, as does the utility for a Netgear work only with a Netgear router.
B: Why won't AirPort utility find my AirPort Express?
Any of 3-4 common reasons. We'll have to work on troubleshooting that.
C: Why, on the two occasions the AP Utility did find the APE, did it not give me the option anywhere to set it up as an EXTENDER to the current network?
Apple designed the wireless "extend" feature on their routers to only work with other Apple routers.
D: Is there any other way to add the APE to my network as desired without using AP Utility?
    No
Not sure how you want to proceed at this point. It might be possible to use the AirPort Express to extend the Netgear network if you connect it using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection back to the Netgear router.
If you cannot run the Ethernet cable, your best bet by far is to use another Netgear extender or repeater, which would likely be compatible with your Netgear router.
