Delete default document profiles

Im trying to delete unsued document profiles, but after deleting they are recreated every time i start Illustrator. Any ideas how can i delete them permanently ?

There are two sets of New Document Profiles. One is in HD/Applications/Adobe Illustrator CSX/ (right click on the application and choose Show Package Contents) /Required/en_US/New Document Profiles. The other is in HD/Users/<yourname>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS5/en_US/New Document Profiles. The Users/<yourname>/Library file is a hidden file on OS10.7.x and 10.8.x

  • Change Default Color Profile in New Image Document ?

I've looked and looked, and even Googled.  Anyone know how to change the default color profile when you start a New image file?  In CS5 mine defaults to sRGB (Under the Advanced drop down) but my CS6 is ProPhoto RGB which means I have to change it manually nearly every time I paste an image copied via right click in a web browser.

I think it the same on windows. If I copy things to the clipboard with Photoshop that the document profile seem to be used there when I do a paste there are no color issues.  However if I use Prtscn or Alt+PrtScn to capture screen content.  I'll see that the colors are wrong when I paste the clipboard into a new document if my default color space is not sRGB. Then I need to assign sRGB to the document to correct the colors.
If I paste a screen capture into the current document the color can be very off and I will not get a prompt on the color mismatch. Therefore I don't think a screen capture has any profile associated with it. And of course the screen has a much lower resolution then the images I edit. So there is also a big size difference. Here is one scaled to 100% zoom after the paste. You can see both the color and resolution difference.  This capture was assigned to sRGB so you will see what the screen looks like after the paste and zoom to 100%.

  • [CS4] Default new document profile

If I create a New Document Profile, how do I make it the default? I did it in

Now here's a strange thing. I installed AI 14 on my laptop and set up a new
Document Profile exactly as I had done on the G5. On the G5 when I request a
new document it defaults to "Custom" albeit with the settings I had
specified. On the laptop it defaults to my named New Document Profile. So why
is the Profile name not displaying on the G5? Mystery. In a minute someone's
going to advise me to trash the preferences!

  • About ACL and default document and folder ACL in the profile

Please let me know if I am wrong or not?
If I have a user6 with a default ACL (folder and document): user6ACL
The home folder directory (home\user6) has user5ACL.
I copied a file into the user6 home folder: The new file is going a have user6ACL, right?,
Now what happened if the user6 copies another file into another directory?, (no the home directory)… which ACL is going a take the file?
The default ACL specified in the profile user or the ACL from the parent directory?
I have tested, is taking the acl from the parent folder. And is no using the default document and the default folder ACL specified in the profile.
    Thanks very much.

I personally think that this behaviour is expected, or how else would you realize certain folders for collaborative work when every file there is created with e.g. private permissions ?

  • Windows 8 Logon times default user profile size

With the addition of Chromebooks and other devices that boot in 3 seconds, we are re-evaluating our Windows 8 environment.  Windows 8 does boot up much quicker, but our domain logon times are still 2+ minutes or more if there is no user profile.
So I took our policies down to the bare minimum to see what is really taking forever for computers to log on.
Using unattend.xml, we use the copyprofile flag to customize the default desktop experience for our users.  The default profile then becomes 185MB and I'd like to try and reduce that to improve logon times when no profile exists.  The
following folders are where the majority of space is being used and I want to know if I can delete them in the default user profile.
    25MB c:\users\default\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\explorer  -  Icon and Tile Cache
40MB c:\users\default\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\WebCache - log files in machine language
    7MB   c:\users\default\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\notification
    7MB c:\users\default\appdata\locallow\adobe\shockwave player 11\xtras\download\adobesystemsincorporated
    3MB c:\users\deafult\appdata\roaming\microsoft\Bibliography
    4MB c:\users\deafult\appdata\roaming\microsoft\Document Building Blocks\1033\15\Built-in Building Blocks.dotx
How fast can I make it?   I used autologon registry keys to logon to a domain account (non-administrator).  Timings are from totally off to viewing the Start Screen.
The BIOS on our HP 6306 takes about 12 seconds to even start booting Windows 8 and so the total boot time till the start menu shows is 25 seconds with Windows 8 taking 13 seconds to boot and logon.  That is really, really nice.
So then I added 3 mapped drives (not redirection) and one printer to the group policy and that didn't add any time once the profile was created.
Creating a profile is what really slows down the logon process.  Granted this is much after after the profile is done, but the vast manjory of our machines are public with random students/staff logging on to them.
    More testing to come.

Were you able to reduce the size of the default profile?

  • Delete multiple document libraries in SharePoint 2013

We currently have 2000+ site collections where I would like to delete the default "Documents" library.
I know how to do this manually for one site collection and it works fine when I use this:
    $web = get-spweb -Identity http://intranet/linktoasite
    $list = $web.lists["Documents"]
    $list.AllowDeletion = $true
    $list.Update()
    $list.Delete()
However doing this for 2000+ sites isn't really efficient and my attempts to do this in PowerShell based on a CSV file with all site collections have been ...uhm... less than successful. ;)
Any help pushing me in the right direction are highly appreciated! :-)

You just need for loop at site collection level

  • Accidentally deleted a konqueror profile

    Hey,
I accidentally deleted a konqueror profile ("Simple Browser").
    I want to restore it.
Anyone knows how to do that?
    Thanks
    Fiod

you could try reinstalling konqueror, pacman won't usually overwrite files but will replace default configs which have been deleted by the user.

  • Query of Default Documents/Reports

    Dear All,
I want to get the Query of Default Documents/Reports , like Purchase Analysis (Purchasing Reports), Open Item List (Sales Reports) etc.
    Thanks,
    Ghazanfar Ahmed

    Hai!
To view System Report Queries (Purcahse Analysis,TB ..)
You can able to see this through SQL Trace.
    Open SQL Management Studio.
    Open Tools>Sql Server Profiler.
    Open File>New Trace.
This will continously trace the changes done in SQL.
Open the Purcahse analysis report now in SAP B1. U will get the query from Trace Window

  • New CF10, Server 2012, Default Document 404

    On a new WIndows 2012 server (64bit), IIS 8.x installed, CF10 installed (to latest patches), CF10 hardening done. Ran WS-Config on individual IIS sites (not the "All" site). Jakarta virtual directory in place in the IIS site, and pointing to the correct wsconfig file for the IIS site :  {CF-Home}\config\wsconfig\{iis-site-number}
Default document setting in IIS set to defaults; have also tried setting index.htm as first default document.  Browsing to http://mydomain.com/ returns a 404. Browsing to http://mydomain.com/index.htm returns correct content. Problem happens with any subfolder on the site. Have verified that index.htm exists in all tested folders. (Browsing done on the local server console.)
Have deleted site web.config, then re-enabled index.htm as default document in IIS manager. Have checked permissions to the file; they are proper (and beside, going to http://mydomain.com/index.htm works fine, so don't think it is a permissions problem). No URL rewriting at server or site level. Authentication at site and server level set to 'anonymous' enabled, all others disabled.
IIS log files show a port 80 request: GET /  returns the 404. Failed request tracings are  no help.
This happens with any IIS site created. Also happens by IP address.
Have verified all needed IIS components (role features) are installed.
Am now officially stuck at figuring out this problem.

Hello! Your browser's preferences allow you to designate the location of downloads. I usually create a folder on the desktop called "current downloads" as the designated place. That way I can go in and delete them as needed. As for other stuff you just have to navigate to where ever you want them to be located. Tom

  • Files missing from desktop after deleting a user profile that was created on there.

I downloaded and installed firefox and it asked me to create a user profile, but it could not save in the default location. I chose to create the profile on the desktop as a test and that worked. However, after deleting that user profile, all of the items on my desktop were removed and cannot be located. The files are not in my trashbin and when I do a search, it says the file cannot be located. I have Windows 7.

You shouldn't create a profile and choose an existing folder.<br />
You should always specify an empty folder and if you didn't do that then you should never remove the files when you remove such a profile because all files in it will be removed and not just the files created by Firefox.

  • Help with default user profile

I have created a default user profile using a local account. Once I have the local account I copy the home folder to /System/Library/"User Template"/English.lproj
    I do
    chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/"User Template"/English.lproj
    From the terminal as root
I log in with an Active Directory account and the profile is exactly as I created with one caveat, safari is trying to save to the dummy user accounts desktop instead of the logged in users account.

It seems to me that when ".plist" files contain references to other files or folders, most require full paths and they won't accept anything to represent a generic "home". Either that, or items are represented by "alias" data, referring to a specific file, which would be completely independent of paths. That of course means that any sort of "template" account must avoid containing references to items within the "home" folder because the template will contain references to the original items, not their counterparts in the new user's home. Note that things like the "sidebar" in a regular account or the "Dock" in a "Simple Finder" do contain shortcuts to items within the "home" folder, but these aren't generated from ".plist" files in the template but rather are generated on the fly by "Finder" during login.
In the case of the default download location for "Safari", I think it defaults to the user's "Desktop" in the absence of a ".plist" file. However, if the user changes the location, then a ".plist" file is created at that point. It would also appear that the default download location is set to the user's "Desktop" if the default Safari "home page" is changed, which also causes the same file to be created. The file appears to be: "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetconfigpriv.plist"
I haven't tested this to see if it would work, but it might be possible to modify your existing template to remove the reference to the "download folder" while retaining the desired Safari "home page" using something along these lines:<pre style="overflow:auto; padding: 5px; width: 500px ; font-size: 10px; border:1">sudo defaults delete /System/Library/User\ Template/English.lproj/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetconfigpriv DownloadFolder</pre>

No way around it. Even if the images are linked, AI embeds previews of them, especially when they are processed in some way and affect appearance and a simple clipping mask qualifies for that just as much as pixel-based effects, opacity blending and what have you.

  • Need a script to delete Old domain profiles folders

    Hi
    Thanks in Advance
I have desk space issue in my Org.
There are 3000 to 5000 windows servers exist in our Org.
I am running a desk clean every day with a script
    1)      C:\Temp; C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations; C:\WINDOWS\Offline
    Web Pages; C:\WINDOWS\servicepackfiles; C:\WINDOWS\temp
    2)      It runs the below commands on all the above folders
    DEL /F /Q /S C:\temp\*
    for /D %%i in ("C:\temp\*") do RD /S /Q "%%i"
But I am still facing issue with C drive space, as many domain accounts  users login into the servers and folder are created in
    Windows 2003: c:\Document settings\<user folder>
    windows 2008: C:\users\<user folder>
So i need manullay login into the servers to delete this user profiles folder.
I need a script to clear this folders older than 30 days.
    Please help me
    Thanks
    Rajesh

In WIndows 2003 use delprof to remve old profiles
    DELPROF:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5405
    DELPROF /c:\\computername /d:30
On WS2008 and later use Group Policy.
On Termminal Server profiles should be roamed to a NAS or SAN or file server and the session should be set to remove the local copy at the end of the session.
On Windows 2008 you can fairly easily move the users folder "C:\Users" to another drive if youare running out of space.  Terminal Server only porfiles can be moved seeparately to a new drive or network location using RDS configuration or Group
    Policy.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Terminal Server Profiles - Not Deleting(No Roaming Profiles)

I am currently not using roaming profiles. I have two Terminal Servers(both 2008R2) and 1 database server. Terminal server A houses the profiles and pulls user settings, desktop etc. In using the broker service, even if I log into to Terminal server B, I
get the profile that was setup on Terminal Server A or in other words, upon logging in the DELETED PROFILE is still being pulled.
    So Indeed...
Upon deleting user1 from Terminal Server A and where the profiles are housed, it deletes just fine.
    But..
Upon logging back into Terminal Server A or Terminal Server B I get the old profile. Obviously there is a caching problem somewhere.
    Can anyone help please?

Assuming you are not running some other profile management product there are a few places a user profile comes from.
If they do not have a roaming profile set, their profile is copied from the hidden directory c:\Users\DEFAULT\
It can be  copied from a roaming profile or it can be a mandatory profile.
I would be more inclined to think that on server B, the profile is roaming.
To check do a GPresult on the server or check the setting for the user in the registry.  Run Regedit, navigate to
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\SID\
With SiD = Security Identifyer of the user. You can click ProfileList and Select find to search for the userID and locate the correct SID or you can examine the ProfileImagePath key to find it.
Once you have located the correct SID, look for CentralProfile key under the SID.  If you don't find it or it matches the ProfileImagePath, then you are not roaming.  If it is something else the profile is roaming.
If that doesn't work, download process monitor -> http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx to the server.
Run it as an administrator.  Click filter at the top and select filter...
CLick the drop down that says architecture and select User, then in the box after is enter the username as domain\username.  You can also clcik the down arrow and select the user if they are logged on.
Have the user logon, delete all the profiles and have them login and you should be able to see what is going on.  Once the user is logged on click the magnify glass icon on the toolbar to stop the trace and llok for the section where the profile is being
    copied.
You can click Edit and then select find to search for "C:\Users\whatevertheuseridis"
