Delete Exchange email account without losing Calendar

Hi there,
My Exchange is currently set up to sync with my work email, with a secondary Exchange for my gmail emails.
I have a new job now and no longer have access to the original main Exchange account, so need to delete this. However given that I have been using this Calendar for personal appointments / events I don't want to lose all this info.
How do I either backup my current Exchange calendar to iCloud, or to some other format that I can then re-import under a new Exchange account?
Thanks
Jenny

Hey,
do you own a @me.com mail adress? If so try to login at icloud.com and then check your calendar there. When your appointments are all there I would create duplicates of them before I delete the exchange account just to be sure.
If this didn't work you are pretty screwd because as you said you have no access to your exchange account anymore and this means that you cannot create a backup right from the server. Best tip I can give you is never use a temporarily exchange server for your personal stuff.

  • I want to delete an email account without losing my contacts.

Why is this so difficult? I never wanted them associated with the email account in the first place!  I have everything set up to sync by Icloud and it doesn't seem to matter they are syncing with yahoo and if I delete the email I lose all my contacts!

I'm not sure what's wrong with your setup but I have numerous contacts in my Contacts app that originally came from my Mac's Addressbook.  I have a gmail and 3 other IMAP email accounts on my iPhone.  I have all my devices syncing to iCloud and I can add and delete email accounts from my iPhone 5 and it affects the Contacts in no way.
I was having wierd issues when I first setup iCloud with my email and contacts.  I was getting many duplicates showing up in my contacts.  I sign out of iCloud in the Settings, deleted all my email accounts, made sure my contacts were all correct in Contacts app, added my email accounts back as IMAP (instead of POP) and turned iCloud sync back on.  Everything has worked perfectly since doing that.  I love the IMAP setup because when I delete and email on any device it is automatically gone on all other devices.

  • ICloud on my phone, and I want to delete his iCloud account, without losing all my data, including, my apps, contacts, calendar events, music. If I delete his account, will I still have everything saved from before?

My nephew set up his own iCloud account on my phone, and I want to delete his iCloud account, without losing all my data, including, my apps, contacts, calendar events, music. If I delete his account, will I still have everything saved from before deleting his account?? I don't want to lose a single thing...I'm afraid to delete his iCloud account, and risk losing EVERYTHING I have on my phone. Is there another way to save everything without the risk of losing everything from deleting his iCloud account?

Deleting the iCloud account from your phone only deletes the account and any data you are syncing with the account (that is, any data that is set to On in Settings>iCloud).  However, when you delete the account you are prompted about what to do with the iCloud data.  If you want to keep it on your phone, be sure to choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted.  Also, be sure to save any photo stream photos that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else before deleting the account.  To do this, open the photo stream album, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
Deleting the account will not touch any other data on your phone (music, apps, etc.).

  • Deleting an email account WITHOUT deleting emails sent to it

I haven't dared try this for awhile so forgive me (and let me know) if this has been fixed in a recent upgrade of mail.
I have several email accounts in mail. I need to keep the mail sent to one of the addresses that I no longer use (because it got too much spam). Last time I tried to delete the account, every single email ever sent to that email address was deleted as well. As they are business emails I need to keep, this is VERY problematic. My messages are all neatly filed in about 60 separate project folders within mail.
So my question is - how do I keep the mail messages but delete the account?
At the end of the day I need to be able to access the mail messages again by using some kind of search function. They don't necessarily have to stay in mail but they do need to be accessible again. Is this possible?

Deleting a POP account only deletes the messages stored in the account’s mailboxes. If you move those messages to custom “On My Mac” mailboxes or to the mailboxes of another account, you won’t lose them. It’s not that Mail goes after your mail trying to delete as much as it can. It’s just that if a mail account is deleted, then its mailboxes cannot exist anymore...
And just to be clear, it’s not just the messages in Inbox that would be deleted if you delete the account. Messages in any of the other account’s mailboxes (i.e. Drafts, Sent, Trash, Junk) would also be deleted if you don’t move them to other mailboxes as well.
Alternatively, a quick and simple procedure to create a duplicate of the account’s mailbox structure as “On My Mac” mailboxes would be importing them doing File > Import Mailboxes, choosing Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, and selecting the ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver account folder.
That said, instead of deleting the account right away, you can just disable it (i.e. turn OFF Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Enable this account), leave it that way for some time, and delete it only after making sure you didn’t miss anything while the account was disabled.
BTW, if you back up your data, and the ~/Library/Mail folder in particular, you won’t have to worry about accidentally losing anything as a result of doing something like that...
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

  • Multiple Exchange email accounts into one calendar?

I've been looking for a definitive answer for this for awhile now and searches always leave something to be desired. Anyway, if a user has multple exchange accounts with different addresses, is there anyway to combine all of those accounts into one calendar?
The addresses should be forwarding to the "main" one, but the issue comes when someone sends a calendar invite to the different account([email protected] instead of [email protected], for example), it will only show up on the email1 account even
though it was forwarded to the email0 account. This is causing people to be double booked in our environment when one calendar shows free because someone looked at the wrong one.
To further piggyback that idea, is there anyway to turn OFF the calendar feature with an account so one can not even book it?
Most of the answers I have seen say this is NOT possible, and only way to "combine" is to overlay, which isn't the same thing at all. Any ideas?

Please refer to the link below:

Does that meet your scenario? If yes, disable users' access to the calendar in Outlook Web App by connecting to Exchange Online service and running the following command in PowerShell:
           Set-OwaMailboxPolicy OwaMailboxPolicy-Default -CalendarEnabled $false

  • Can I delete an email account without deleting the previous emails from it

I have several emails from my own website ([email protected]) set to POP in Mail. Because of an overrun of spam, I disabled one of the accounts in Mail, and then deleted in at my website account. I have 2 others that I wasn't using, so I did the same. I didn't want to delete them in Mail, because I heard that would delete all the emails from it. So I just disabled them. But I see in Connection Doctor that they are still trying to connect to my website to retrieve email. Do I need to completely delete them from Mail? And if I do, if the emails are all moved out of the Inbox into folders I've created (mostly smart mailboxes) are they safe from being deleted? Will it only delete from Inbox, Send, and Trash?
    Thank you.

Select the messages you want to keep, then select
    Message > Archive
from the menu bar. A new mailbox will be created for each account from which you archive messages, and the messages will be kept when you delete the account and its mailboxes. Nevertheless, be sure to back up all data before making any changes.

  • Delete iCloud account without losing contacts on phone?

I have been using a long defunct email address as my apple id and would like to update to a new email address.  No data was ever synced to icloud - the only button on in the iphone account settings has been the "Find my iphone" button.  Can I safely delete this icloud account without losing the contacts, messages, etc on my phone? When I click delete, the message "deleting this account will remove its data from your iphone" appears.

Yes. After you pushed the button "Delete Account" you will be also asked, if you want to keep the data on your phone.

  • DELETING MY EMAIL ACCOUNTS! - URGENT

I want to delete my email accounts from my Blackberry 8520 Curve but every time I go through the Email Setup process, I get this:
"The information you provided is incorrect.  Retype your user name and password.  Your user name and password are case sensitive."
This is not correct as I can log into my account online just fine.
I try the Forgot Password option and get:
"Your device encountered a problem with this application's server.  Select OK and repeat the action to try again."
This I have done repeatedly with no joy.
My wireless connection is fine.  I am growing quite annoyed.
Is there anyway to delete my email accounts without using my handheld device?  And is it a simple process?
    Many thanks.

  • How do I delete an old Microsoft exchange email account from my phone without it automatically deleting many of my contacts?

I have an old Microsoft Exchange Email Account on my phone that I no longer use. I never synced my contacts with this email account. Yet, if I delete it, it destroys my contacts. Do I just need to have this email account permanently on my phone? It's really annoying and I want to get rid of it, but have no idea what to do. Thanks!

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it.
If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps - you should be able to logout of the old account via Settings > Store and log in with you new account for new purchases.

  • How can I delete an old exchange email account

I have a new iPad Air. I restored it from a backup of my old iPad 3. My work exchange email account came with it but does not work. When I followed the procedures my work support provided I found a new email account was created with the same name.  I tried to delete the old exchange account but there is no DELETE option.  I checked and I have no restrictions enabled.  I was able to make the old exchange account inactive by turning off mail/contacts/calendar/reminders.
Please advise on how to delete this account.
    Thanks in advance
    Environment:
    IOS 7.0.3
    iPad Air 128GB WiFi only

Brendan, thanks for your reply.  Unfortunately neither of these helped.  There are no checkboxes ticked for Safari (and I only use Firefox, generally) and I am able to sign in after signing off.  But when I go to sign in here I get the [email protected] filled in as in the attached.  And I have been using [email protected] as my defsult email and also my Apple ID user name since before there was an iCloud.  So what now?

OK, let's come back to the original issue; how are deleted messages retrievable?
First, is the account set up as an Exchange account or a POP account? I'll assume it's Exchange. If it were POP the answer is obvious.
If it's an Exchange account are you deleting the messages from the phone or from some other computer? If you are deleting them from another computer they will not be removed from the Trash folder on the phone until the phone next syncs AND the Trash folder is opened. But this will take time. You can force the Trash folder to sync in near real time by going into Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendars, tap on the Exchange account, tap on Mail Folders to Push and check "Deleted Items". Note that doing this will result in increased data usage and reduced battery life.
If I haven't described the situation tell me what assumptions I made that are incorrect.

  • Delete account without losing mail etc

I have a problem - recently hit an existing account - where I can no longer get pop mail. I have checked with ISP and there appears to be no problems their end and activity monitor shows (sometimes) mail being downloaded but it doesn't appear in theinbox.
The general suggestions is to create a new account and try that - but you cannot have two account with same name. How do I delete an account without losing my mail boxes eg inbox, sent etc. I obviously want the contents to stay linked to the account?
    Any ideas? Thanks

You've been lucky, I'd say - although mail gives a warning when you try to delete an account, changing the details to allow creating an identical account can result in lost emails ( It happened to me).
Anyhow - you've already moved/copied emails from the renamed account to the new one?. Can you actually open & read the emails correctly?
If so.... imp you're quite safe to delete the old account.
But you want a backup - & quite right too.
    Quit mail
Make a copy of the Mail folder found in home/library
Make a copy of the file 'com.apple.mail.plist' found in home/library/preferences.
You're now able to restore mail the to the exact state it was when you made the copies. To restore it, you need to quit mail & drag/move the copies back to their original locations in library & lib/preferences - choosing replace when you get a duplicate warning message,
Start mail again & all will be restored.....but you'll lose any mail/changes from after you made the backup.
Check my recent post on getting just some mail back from the backup folder

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must use the previous owner's password to get permission to use the device. If you cannot get the password your father put on the iPad you will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.
