  • I have 5.6 GB of uninstalled apps and it's taking up all my data storage on my phone. How do I delete them or get my space back?

    Hi,
I have a 5s iphone with 16 GB. My phone storage is basically always full, to the point where I can't take pictures or send them. I only have 10 songs, 912 pictures and 2 apps. I don't use email on my phone, so it seems I should have space to have more apps and take pictures, etc. I looked at my storage manager and just noticed that it says I have 5.6 GB of uninstalled apps. I can't delete the apps from the apps store on my phone, even though they're not on my phone and when I logged into my apps store on my laptop, it said there were no apps... How can I get my space back on my phone? Does anyone know of a way to delete the apps or what to do in this situation?
    Thanks!

Did you try to set it up as new device, as explained in this article?

If this does not work, use iTunes to set it back to factory settings, which would also install the latest software:

  • I want to delete my purchased history in the app store..How do i do that?

i recently updated to IOS 7 and don't like how you can see my purchase history in the app store. how can i delete it?

You can hide your purchase history, but not from the iOS device itself.
You need to use iTunes, as shown here:

You can't delete your purchase history, you can only hide it (in iTunes on your computer).

  • Is it possible to delete the purchase history in the App Store?

Is it possible to delete the purchase history in the App Store?

No it isn't. You can hide the purchases in the App Store but you can't delete them. But you must do this in your iTunes account in the iTunes app on a computer. It cannot be done from the phone.

If you are talking about multitasking, double tap the home button and swipe up on the app you want to remove.  They look like pages now.

  • Do uninstalled apps appearing on app world consume memory

    Hi folks,
I see every uninstalled app in a list on my Curve 9300. I have not been able to delete those entries (is there a way to clean up this list?)
My question is: These apps do consume memory on my device?
(if I totalize the size of the apps it does not match the memoty consumed)
    thank you for your answers
    Sergio @ Lima

No, only the apps themselves are saved on your computer. A backup will contain your apps content and settings, but if you remove an app from the iPad then it will no longer be included in future backups (and you can only restore the whole iPad from a backup, you can't restore individual apps).

  • I have an iPod touch and it doesn't seem to be working right it is rather slow I get booted from sites I have deleted history cache cookies still have 22.1 available space what can I do to solve the problem do I need an antivirus

I have an iPod touch that does not seem to be working properly I have deleted history cache cookies I gave 22.1 available I get booted off sites for no reason do I need an antivirus if so where can I find a good free one

There are no antivirus apps for any iDevice
    - Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Why Can I NOT Keep My Internet Explorer "DELETE HISTORY ON EXIT" Set

Ok I have been fighting this every since Windows 8.0 and NO success.  Its like Microsoft coded I.E. to still hold onto all of my history and cache even though I have selected "Delete on exit".  Also the Advance setting where it caches
sites files etc, NEVER deletes.   I can perform the procedure, then close out.  Turn off my computer and when I am back into IE.  I get the "previous browser session closed yada yada.... do you wish to restore"..
Sure enough, when I 'restore' everything I 'deleted' still there.
and no, I didn't "cold-shut down' the computer where programs were still running (unless it is intentional that i.e. is still running even after ive closed and deleted history MANUALLY over and again)
Is there a better "3rd" party browser to use ?

I always get an error message "Cannot update iOS software" or something to that effect everytime I try. I've tried plugging my iPad to my laptop computer and then my computer directly to internet connection (we have a router that allows WiFi access, so I thought I'd try to bypass the router instead), but this did not work.  I've tried restoring my iPad via connected to my computer through iTunes, that worked for a short time and was able to update the apps I wanted, but soon after one of the apps stopped working properly, and then the apps I wanted to get from the App Store just wouldn't install or load...Instead they would be having "Waiting..." for the longest time until I give up and delete them. I've tried restarting my iPad, no luck either.  I've also gone through the Reset process of "Erase All Content and Settings" i.e., Restore, and like mentioned above, it worked for a little while then it went back to square one, as I mentioned a sentence or two previously.
I've no idea what is going on, why it's not working, or anything.  I just wonder if it's got anything to do with a slow internet connection (we don't have high-speed internet access), or something else I haven't found that may be just under my nose.
I would love some help and input into my situation, all and any ways which allow me to keep my current iPad (which is the New Generation one), not having to trash it and replace it with a new one.
Have you tried to restore as a new device? Maybe a glitch exists on the restored backup, try this:

  • Steps to uninstall app from ipad3?

Steps to uninstall app from ipad3?

You are pressing and holding the app for a second or two until they start to shake, and not just tapping it ? If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded (you can't delete built-int apps) then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'

I am new to this I Pad Air and was downloading games and is still showing in waiting mode with the circle continually going Arian. I want to delete but unable to figure ot how. also needing to delete history, need a lot of help

    Hey Carolyn1951,
Thanks for the question. I understand you have a few apps that only display "Waiting". The following is a past discussion that dealt with a similar issue, the answer may help you as well:
App updates won't download on my...: Apple Support Communities
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4111336
Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

    Thanks,

  • No matter what I do FF 3.6 always loads 8 tabs when I open it. I do not want these loaded (they were the first 8 I had opened. I have even deleted and resinstalled the app, but get the same result. PLEASE help me. Thanks

every time I open ff 3.6 it loads the same 8 tabs I had opened the first time I used the program. I have deleted and reinstalled the app, but that has not helped. I have tried to remove history etc. But these same 8 tabs keep coming back. How can I get rid of them? Many thanks for your help.

You may have those 8 tabs saved as home pages. Firefox can store multiple home pages, for details of how to change them see [[How to set the home page]].

  • Is there any way to restore deleted bookmarks after uninstalling firefox and reinstalling it?

When I uninstalled firefox i checked the delete history/bookmarks box by accident and now all my bookmarks are gone. is there any way of restoring them from before i uninstalled firefox?

Did you remove the JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder as well?
It is better to try to recover a JSON backup because that is a text file and can easily be checked if the recovery succeeded.

  • Uninstalling apps by means of time machine?

Hello. Please advice whether it is possible to uninstall apps by means of reverting to older version of Applications folder? I know I can revert to older version of Application folder in time machine backups but would that be sufficient? I am not sure if mac has windows-like registry that should be taken care of to uninstall apps properly? Don't want to leave any leftovers from the apps plus, of course, want to treat mac registry (if exists) well.
    Thank you!

Restoring an older /Applications folder may not entirely delete all traces of any given app.
While it's not as horrendous as the Windows registry, it is possible for applications to store other data on your system. You don't (usually) need to worry about drivers, DLLs or other such cruft, but it's common for apps to store a user preference file (typically in ~/Library/Preferences), as well as various other data files in /Library/Application Support/<app name>/ so at the very least you should check those locations.
The same is true, though, if you just delete any specific app from /Applications, which is generally much easier than carpet-bombing your entire /Applications directory. In fact, I would *not* recommend restoring your entire /Applications from Time Machine because you may end up installing older versions of some applications without realizing it, and this could confuse things like the App Store updates (where it thinks it's downloaded the latest version of a given but you're restored/are running an older one).
