Delete hyperlink

I have a CS4 file that somehow got a url link on the pdf. I didn't put it there, and it won't go away. There is nothing in the hyperlink destinations options. The text that lights up is a www, but just the words shouldn't make it active? Right? Any ideas? Thanks.

There is a setting in Acrobat's Preferences which will turn anything it sees as a URL ( ie. http://, or www.something.com) into a mouse over link.
Preferences > General, and under Basic Tools you'll see a check box that says "Create Links from URLs"
It could be as simple as that.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to delete hyperlink (Remove signature) in a form created with InfoPath.
As far as I know, there is no OOTB way to achieve this. You need to use custom code to prevent removal of digital signatures.
Please add the OnBeforeChange handler code to the "signatureN" group where the signature is stored, not to the section you are signing.
In other words (my excample) browse to :
Tools - Form Options - Digital Signatures - "Enable digital signature for specific data" - Modify/Add
Note the "Store signatures in the following group" value. It will be a read only value, eg /my:myFields/my:signature3/my:signature4

Format Accordion to delete hyperlink?

How do I delete a hyperlink from text? This URL:

but I don't see any such thing as a Fromat [sic] accordion, nor an icon, in my version 8.0.1.242. Help! How do I delete a hyperlink?!

Captivate has revamped its UI in Captivate 8. You can Find the Text edit properties under Style Tab in Properties Panel. For deleting the created Hypertext for a caption Select the Text and Search for the "Delete Hyperlink" icon in style Tab Under Character properties. You can find it next to Insert/Modify Hyperlink icon option. I am attaching a screen shot for your reference. But you can find it easily if you select the Relevant text which has Hypertext and look Under Text style properties. The Icon is self intuitive.
Let us know if you still not able to see the option to delete the Hyperlink.

When creating anchors and hyperlinks, there is a list of hyperlinks. How do I delete one of the hyperlinks from the hyperlink list?
For example, in the image below, I wish to delete the item "Wine List".

Unfortunately this is not possible. Muse will list all the pages and anchors in this list and there is no way to delete/hide these links.

Delete hyperlink text crashes Muse

Ok, i wanted to get rid of an hyperlink, (turn object back to it's non-hyperlinked state), so i went to the dropdown list, found nothing there, so i just selected the text hit delete key, and muse crashed just after displaying " Why there is nothing selected for setting a hyperlink???" or something like that (was quite fast, quit just after). got the correct sentence AND the log file.

I had the same issue recently. I was adding a custom hyperlink to an image, but don't remember exactly what I did after that. This crash never happened a second time.

I have a document that I have created in InDesign and I am turning it into a tagged PDF. I'm having 2 problems:
1-The reading order is fine when it is in InDesign but when I bring it into Acrobat it is changing the reading order
2- When I manually change the reading order all my hyperlinks become untagged, even though they were tagged properly before I changed the reading order.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Need to delete hyperlinks in PDFs - when re-saving as PDFs

We're deploying a new Web page. We have hundreds of old PDFs that point to pages that will no longer exist. PDFs were created from Word documents. We have things like "for more information visit us at www.disney.com.
The links are not actually created in Acrobat. But Acrobat sees them as links and wants to follow them.
How can we turn this off?

Generally this turn off feature is a property of the client, not the PDF. Thus it will not change the result for those viewing the PDF on a web site in most cases.

You mean when you click on the hyperlink you want that row to disappear from the page, but not delete the row from the database until a commit/submit button is pressed?
Personally, I think I'd prefer that you have a delete checkbox next to every row and NOT remove them from the display if I was a user. You give your users a chance to change their mind about their choice, and when they're done they can see exactly which rows will be deleted before they commit.
You know your problem, of course, so you might have a good reason for designing it this way. But I'd prefer not removing them from the display. JMO - MOD

CS6 InDesign: Why isn't hyperlink working?

It's been a maddening pursuit - honest, I've tried. There are actually (2) issues; the second precipitated by the first.
Primary Issue
I'm unable to create additional hyperlinks in Adobe CS6 InDesign 8.0.2 (Win7 Pro 64-bit).
Background - first hyperlink works fine in exported PDF; in Master page, created little hyperlink footer to parent website, text source, appearing on most pages.
On an individual regular page (not in Master), have tried both text and graphics as source; through right-clicking and Hyperlinks panel, nothing works; impotent in exported PDF.
Secondary Issue
I'm unable to delete hyperlinks in Hyperlinks Panel table.
Background - Given above; as a result of various attempts the table in the Hyperlinks Panel when displayed via the drop-down menu/ list, there they are; refusing to be deleted. Many attempts, closing app/ relaunching - no avail. How can this list get purged?

And just to be clear, the first hyperlink works in the PDF, with the link on the footer pointing to the parent domain. It's the subsequent attempts that fail to work in the PDF.

Problem in deleting row from database in table component

in this table i have a hyperlink in each row to deleting that row from dataBase.
so i must get the current row .
i do it like this:
define a rowset in the page that have a delete query :

in action of delete hyperlink ,i have:

by using data table
first you should get current record (row that recived action)
then delete it by using data provider.
I do not think that you could execute delete statement using rowSets because they just can provide Select statements.

Delete checkbox for multiple rows

Hi everyone, I have an admin interface that I created and with the records which have an edit hyperlink and delete hyperlink which does the update and delete transaction.
I am deleting like 100 or so records once a month.
I would like to have a checkbox next to the record and I can just check off the ones I want to delete and then click a button at the bottom which will delete all the records that have a checkmark on them.
How would I go about doing this?
I have the single delete record hyperlink working for a delete transaction but cannot figure out how to achieve the above mentioned behavior.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Gunther,. I tried your suggestion as above, and everytime I removed all the unwanted elements like the edit links and update links, the delete portion wouldnt work.
so this is what I did I used my regular page, and when listing the records it automatically puts a check box field and I have a delete checked button at the bottom. and next to EACH record I have a delete link so you can delete individual records which queries a delete.php by id and deletes the individual recordset.
but now I have these checkboxes and I want when checked and click on delete checked button, it automatically goes to delete.php and deletes all the records that have to id of the ones that are checked.
I have put numerous hours into this and have no idea what I am doing wrong.
I would even email someone my code to look at it. I would place my code here but there is no place to import code in this forum that I see. any help would be greatly appreciated.

InDesign "Invented" Hyperlinks

I am working on a 300 or so page document that has in it references to other articles that appear on the internet here and there. In some of those references, InDesign made hyperlinks out of the few words that are the reference and placed a box around those words. I don't want these references to be links and I don't want the boxes. How can I get rid of the links and the boxes in one step and not one at a time (there are lots of them)?

Well, InDesign doesn't do this (unless asked to), so the hyperlinks were there in the original document that you imported.
Call up the Hyperlinks palette, click the first one to select, scroll down and shift+click the last to select them all, then click on the lil' Trash Can or select "Delete Hyperlink/Cross Reference" from the palette menu. ID will ask if you want to 'convert to text' but that's only applicable for cross references.

How to Bind a Combo Box so that it retrieves and display content corresponding to the Id in a link table and populates itself with the data in the main table?

I am developing a desktop application in Wpf using MVVM and Entity Frameworks. I have the following tables:
1. Party (PartyId, Name)
2. Case (CaseId, CaseNo)
3. Petitioner (CaseId, PartyId) ............. Link Table
I am completely new to .Net and to begin with I download Microsoft's sample application and
following the pattern I have been successful in creating several tabs. The problem started only when I wanted to implement many-to-many relationship. The sample application has not covered the scenario where there can be a any-to-many relationship. However
with the help of MSDN forum I came to know about a link table and managed to solve entity framework issues pertaining to many-to-many relationship. Here is the screenshot of my application to show you what I have achieved so far.
And now the problem I want the forum to address is how to bind a combo box so that it retrieves Party.Name for the corresponding PartyId in the Link Table and also I want to populate it with Party.Name so that
users can choose one from the dropdown list to add or edit the petitioner.

The problem, presumably, seems to be is that the binding path "PetitionerLookup" of the ItemSource of the Combo box in the view vPetitioner exists in a different ViewModel vmCase which serves as an ObservableCollection for MainViewModel. Therefore,
what I need to Know is how to route the binding path if it exists in a different ViewModel?

Cross References: CS4 to CS3

Background:
My company group uses InDesign CS3 on Windows XP for about 5% of our document needs. The small percentage is primarily due to cost and learning curve issues, but we don't push to move more documents (particularly our engineering reports) from Word to InDesign because of page numbering and cross-referencing issues. The documents are graphics heavy, so this is a shame, particularly with our 300+ page documents that end up as pdfs.
Question:
I've read that cross-referencing has been extensively beefed up in CS4. If I use CS4 to put in cross references and take my document to my CS3 what happens?

According to the Help file,
Delete cross-referencesWhen you delete a cross-reference, the source cross-reference is converted to text.1In the Cross-References section of the Hyperlinks panel, select the cross-reference or cross-references you want to delete.2Click the Delete icon, or choose Delete Hyperlink/Cross-Reference from the panel menu.3Click Yes to confirm.To completely remove a cross-reference, you can also select the cross-reference source and delete it.
"Deleting" and "completely removing" are different, and the characters composing the xref remain in the text if the xref is "deleted" ("converted to text" would be better terminology). You can select and "delete" all the xrefs in a document simultaneously, so it's a fast operation. I would then imagine that the text of the "deleted" xrefs will survive as text in ID3. You'll just have to try this last bit.
The above is no good if you have to round-trip. I think you then have to buy DTP Tools' Cross-References Pro plug-in and use it to make xrefs in ID4, ignoring ID4's built-in capacities. These xrefs should survive as xrefs in ID3 (with the same plug-in installed), tho' you might want to check with the DTP people on that to be absolutely sure. If you then go back to editing the doc in ID4, the xrefs should still be there, "live" as opposed to dead text.
Amazing that your company does tech docs in Word. Upgrading to ID4, or if you're on Windows, switching to FrameMaker, is a better way to go. There are various reports on the Web you can google that contrast Word and FM -- I bet quite a lot is applicable to Word vs ID too. You might be able to put together a persuasive budget request from them.
