Delete in grocery demo

Dear Everybody...
I've deploy grocery demo application from Oracle, but I've
trouble when deleting common name in OracleInternetDirectory.
The error message is: "javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException:
172.16.1.222:389".
Can anyone help me...

Hi sufyan,
Let me make sure I understand your question. You want to delete
the value contained in a cn (CommonName) attribute for a specific
directory entry in OID?
If this is your problem then I think I know the answer. The cn or
CommonName attribute is what we call a Mandatory attribute. This
means whenever you use the cn attribute it must hold a value as
long as the directory entry that uses the cn attribute exists. It
can never be null. You can change the value in the cn attribute
but you can never leave it blank or null.
You can change the value for this cn attribute by using
ldapmodify, ldapmoddn, or any of the ldap gui tool such as Oracle
Directory Manager.

The full permissions for the /Users/Shared directory are:
Owner: system
Access: Read & Write
Group: wheel
Access: Read & Write
Others: Access: Read & Write
Hence anyone (or any application) can write to that folder, which is its intent: sort of a "Commons" where any user can leave a file for access by any other user on the Mac.
The GB files may have simply been seen as being "in use" by another process, even though GB was not running, perhaps even GB itself. I've seen this happen with Preview from time to time: view a file in Preview, close (Command-W) the Preview window, trash the file, empty the Trash, the file you were viewing won't empty because it is "in use." If one Quits (Command-Q) Preview, the Trash can be emptied. I've reported a bug on the Preview example.
One can determine the process that is considered to have the file "in use" as follows:
1. Open the Trash
2. Launch Terminal, located in the Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities folder.
3. Position the Terminal and Trash windows so they do not overlap.
4. At the Terminal prompt, type lsof followed by a single space, but do not press Return yet.
5. Drag and drop the file cited in the alert dialog from the Trash to the Terminal window. The path to the file appears after the command typed in step 4.
6. Press Return. You will receive output in Terminal listing the file you dropped on the Terminal window in step 5. The process or application that is considered to have the file "in use" is listed under the column labeled COMMAND. Quit that application or, using Activity Monitor, terminate that process.

Grocery demo

I'm getting a "Segmentation fault" error message when I execute "ldapmodify -h myhostname -p 3060 -D cn=orcladmin -w mypassword -f grocerystore.ldif". This is step1 in the "Deploying the application" section of the Grocery Store demo installation. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
I'm running it from the terminal window of a linux red hat 2.1. machine where my 10g AS infra is installed.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am wondering how to delete the recording demo on my ichat...

I have downloaded the recording demo for ichat and my free trial is up and i don't want to buy it but i do want to delete it is this possible?

Also when the Un-installer is done also delete com.apple.ichat.plist and restart iChat to remove any references in this .plist
It is possible to Download again and run the Uninstaller from the new .dmg if you did not keep it

Delete or Disable Demos from 4600 App

Hi -
Is there any way to disable the Demos on the 4600 Application (the Demo menu at right)?
It seems like people in the office are playing with these and I don't like the idea of unauthenticated users being able to perform DMLs or use resources.

You cannot delete Apps from the Purchased list. you can however hide them.
You can only do this from iTunes on a computer, it cannot be done on your iPad. It doesn't need to be your own computer. You can borrow one with iTunes and login with your account.

How do i delete a game demo?

I downloaded a game demo, and I want to remove it from my mac. It is located in the launch pad, and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Open your 'Finder'. Than select your 'Macintosh HD' and open the 'Applications' folder.
The game demo is probably in there. Just drag it onto your Trash.

Deleting Microsoft Office Demo

I just got my macbook and I do not know where to uninstall the microsoft office demo...i found the i Work and i havent started that demo yet either...i was wondering if i should start it to uninstall i work so i can install my Microsoft office student edition i purchased with my macbook...
and... if i cant find it sohould i just install the microsoft student edition anyways and hope for no problems?

Sure. Try using Spotlight. Click on the magnifying glass in the little blue circle on the upper right of your desktop menu bar (alternatively, you can click command (the apple button) and the space bar). Type into the spotlight window any of the various MS Office terms, such as Office 2004 for Mac, and any files containing or associated with those words will automatically be listed underneath.
You're looking for a folder called Office 2004 for Mac Test Drive. If it comes up, it's still there on your Hard Drive, and you can click it and then open the Remove Office uninstaller. If it doesn't show up in spotlight, it's no doubt already gone from your system.
In Spotlight, you can use similar words, like Microsoft, to find any related files that might be stored in other places, such as a PDF document called Discovering Microsoft Office, etc. Just drag these to the Trash and Empty Trash.

Grocery Demo Application Problem

I have deployed GroceryDemo Application. Most options are working, but one not. I have problem with provisioning event. In profile trc file I see this exception and it is reapeating every 20 seconds:

Updated demo - grocery store?

Hello.
Trying to make some web services connect to OID. I'm not familiair with OID so I grabbed the Grocery demo and tried it. It seems that it was written or 8.x versions of the App Server. As I walk through the setup, I see references to Net8 Configuration Assistant, Net8 Assistant, ldapadd (command line tool), etc. But I cannot find these things in my install (9.0.x). I took some guesses on the Net8 stuff, but the options within the various tools do not match the demo.
Is there an updated demo that I am not seeing? I just downloaded the demo from:
http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/oid/content.html.

I too have got as far as section "3. Storing Net8 Database Information..", but the instructions do no match up to that on screen.
This demo is so out of date now.
Have the LDAP services running okay and can connect to them on server, but get Authentication error when trying to connect creating new context.

Please seasrch for the EmpByEmail1 file in ur project and remove all the details in the Page Def and UI and then try again.
Due to the EmpByEmail1 existance in page Def this may occur . It may help , still if it was not working then I am sorry for that.

Unable to delete agent assignment from Standard Task 8267 DECISION

In transaction PFTC_CHG I'm trying to Delete Agent Assignment (Shift + F2), the screen simply refreshes and the action is not performed - the user is not deleted from the Demo Workflows parent folder? I'm not sure how to change or remove this entry? Authorisations check out fine.

HELP. How do i get rid of an Arturia Demo for Logic 9.....

I downloaded and installed the DEMO for Arturia Brass 2.0 and a Moog vst. The trial period had expired and I couldn't load my Logic9 song anymore. So, I tried to delete the Arturia demos from my computer. Now, the song will not open, as it freezes during the load process?HELP please. How can I rid my computer of the Arturia stuff. Thanks.

To remove the offending plugin from your project, start Logic and immediately hold down Control whilst Logic is booting. THis will give you the option not to load the Core Audio drivers, such that the project will open, but no audio will work. Remove the plugins from the project, then re-save. Re-start Logic normally and you should be good to go.
To remove the plugins from the system completely, go to Library:Audio:PlugIns:Components and delete the offending plugs.

Install Demo a 2nd time?

I downloaded the Aperture demo a while back, but never really got around to putting it through it's paces. I downloaded a new one, and when I go to install I get a message saying "You cannot continue. There is nothing to install". The little check box next to Aperture Trial is blank and the line is grayed out.
I'm assuming this has something to do with the previous demo I installed. I searched and deleted the previous demo, but perhaps there's a pref somewhere I need to trash? Or am I out of luck here?

i did this. i installed and then deleted after about a week. then a few weeks later downloaded again and was reissued another trial reg number which gave me another 30 days. i am going to buy it and was not trying to get over on anybody. i was simply hoping to get the remaining time left in my trial. but it was fully restarted. this may happen if you dont let the trial expire, but not if you do. i dunno. but i know it worked out for me.

I want to develop a Java plugin for handling events on OID and propagate on other DBMS.

Ahhh...OK...that makes more sense now. From your first post, it seemed like you wanted to sync the actual app (as in, for instance, backup the actual app and then restore it after an OS reload...as opposed to reinstalling the app after an OS reload). But, now I see that it is the App data that you wish to sync.
To be 100% clear -- is this a sync function, similar to how the desktop software synchs with your PIM (e.g., Outlook) for organizer data? Or is this a backup function, where the data is backed up for use in a subsequent restore?

JNDI and Java

Does anyone have working code on JAVA to access to a OiD, for example to perform a basic directory search and get all the info of the search in a NamingEnumeration ??

Hi,
Have you had a look into the OID Grocery Demo. It uses JNDI to search directory, create, modify, delete users, adding users to group, removing users from group and more. Concentrate on DirectoryManager.java which handles all the communication with the Directory Server.

This sample application works with Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4) or later, but the DirectoryManager code is applicable(and same) for any version of OID.
