Delete Movie in web gallery

I created ab album in iphoto with pictures and movie. I publish the album to the web gallery and it worked fine. I deleted the album in iphoto, the pictures were deleted in web gallery but not the movie. How do I delete that ?

You may have to mount your iDisk and go to the Web/Sites/_gallery folder and delete the folder containing the movie.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Playing movies in web gallery

When playing a movie in web gallery I have to wait until the line below the movie slowly crosses to the following side. It is as though the movie is being downloaded before you can play it through. Is this normal, or am I missing out a step before clicking on the play icon?

This depends on the size of your movie file and the speed of your internet connection.
You can either cut the size of the movie file or give your viewers a description of the move to read while it downloads. The latter also gives the Google spiders something to report about your web page as they can't watch the movie!

  • Movies in Web Gallery

iPhoto or .Mac for web gallery questions? I'll try here:
Running iPhoto 7.01 and uploaded a web gallery of my niece's wedding. My camera takes QT movies as well and allows you to select movies and even sends a thumbnail with a movie icon on it. But when try and play them you get an generic 'QuickTime is unable to play this movie. Please try again.' and the Gallery entry in iphoto has one of the triangle '!' signs after it as if it ran into problems.
    So is it:
a bug in delivery and Gallery doesn't really support QT movies (and should warn you if some are selected or just ignore them)
it only supports certain types of QT movies (though I don't think they got sent)
Or some other problem? No mention of movies that are supported by iPhoto in the database in any Gallery help or notice I can find.

Why is this thread marked as 'Answered?' Is the 'solution' that, while iPhoto 'seems' to be able to upload videos it lists and plays to Web Gallery, videos don't play.
Is that the answer? Has anyone been able to have videos uploaded to a web gallery via iPhoto actually run in a Web Gallery. If so, which format was it in?
    (ANSWER/Workaround below.)
For me, My camera's MPEG1 Muxed, 640 x 480 pixels movies are copied to and list fine in iPhoto and are listed with an icon in a Web Gallery, but throws up an error message.
Movies exported to finder by iMovie 08 (.m4v, mpeg4 using H.264) is not even accepted as a valid format by iPhoto, so I can't say if it will run in the Web Gallery. Likewise, exporting a movie to the Media Browser does little, as iPhoto can't access the Media Browser. (Is that true? Am I missing something?)
Video encoded as MPEG4 Decompressor (libavcodec), 640 x 480, Millions AAC, Stereo (L R), 44.100 kHz (.mp4) is accepted as a valid format and is uploaded to the Web Gallery. It is also played in Web Gallery.
So, Non-H.264 compressed mpeg4 movie clips will play in Web Gallery.

  • Can't delete albums from web gallery

How Can I delete an album from my web gallery, when the album icon isn't showing in bottom left side corner of my  iphotos application??
When I upload the same album, it's duplicated next to the one i'm trying to delete. Now, I was able to delete the one I just uploaded, but not the original one.
Can somebody tell me how to solve this one????

Go to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites folder, open the _gallery folder, and then you can delete what you want.

  • Movies to Web Gallery from email

I've looked around and there are some posts on this matter but nothing that can seem to answer my particular question.
I have a G4 PowerBook so iMovie 08 won't work with me. I understand that if I enable email uploads to my Web Gallery I may be able to email a movie to it. I have a 7mb movie but it won't go. The attachment allowance is now 20mb on the email. Is there a maximum size for Web Gallery? Or is the maximum size only an issue if the move is emailed?
Alternatively, is there another way to achieve what I want to do? I have heard that it's possible to upload it straight from iPhoto, is this true? I can't try yet as I'm in work and need to wait until I get home.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
    Thanks.

It's not really an iWeb issue.

  • Web Gallery doesn't delete

I deleted a Web Gallery from iPhoto (7.0.1) and while it disappeared from iPhoto, it's still on-line in my web gallery! I can't find it in iDisk to delete it. Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks!

The original poster was pointing out that if you delete a published web gallery from iPhoto's source list but it's not unpublished from .Mac, you need to go into Preferences and choose "Stop Publishing."
Your advice works for a deleted photo that wasn't removed from .Mac but it's not a solution for a whole album that's been deleted.

  • Web Gallery, Photos Not Correct Rotation

I'm playing around with three photos and uploading them to a web gallery. Problem is, when I see them in Safari, the photos are upside down, which is how they were after their initial import.
In the web gallery project in iPhoto (7.1), the photos have been rotated to display properly, but after the upload, no good.
I deleted the "bad" web gallery, and started over. I've also done a rebuild of the iPhoto library. Not sure what else to try.
I would suspect that the web gallery is drawing from the Originals folder within the iPhoto Library. Sound reasonable?

It's funny: I had just posted to someone else that they should update to 7.1 to get the web gallery to upload. I didn't realize I was not up all they way myself. So now I'm at 7.1.1.
Problem was, I still had upside down photos.
So the work around I employed was to export the edited photos out, delete the photos within iPhoto, then re-import the edited photos back in. Ah, now they show properly.
Not my favorite solution, but what are you going to do?
I still suspect there might something within the web gallery functionality, which wants to upload the Originals and not the Modifieds. Thoughts anyone?

  • Moving a web gallery

How can i move a web gallery folder from my old mac to my new one?

    Jim:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You would have to move the library package to the new mac. If the new Mac has a library with photos then you can use iPhoto Library Manager to merge the new Mac's library into the old library. That will preserve the gallery. Be sure to enter the .Mac info in the system .Mac preferences.

  • Web Gallery Albums

Any clue how to delete albums from Web Gallery/My Gallery?

You can get to your Gallery folder by either logging into .Mac and going to your iDisk or from Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites. Open the "_gallery" folder and delete what you want.

  • Web Gallery pictures after deletion still in Finder

    Hello....
I create a web gallery on MobileMe using iPhoto '08 and had it allow others to upload the pictures to the gallery using web interface.
Now, when someone uploads the pictures they appear in the iPhoto the next time it syncs. However, if I delete the picture from the Web Gallery it disappears from iPhoto BUT the picture can still be found in the Finder under the iPhoto package in Pictures directory. I mean the picture do not get deleted from the iPhoto package in Finder when they are deleted from Web Gallery.
How the picture should be deleted from Web gallery so it gets deleted from the Finder as well? I mean it is difficult to trace the pictures and delete manually in Finder.
One other question I have is if someone uploads the picture and it appears in iPhoto under Web Gallery and I want to move this picture to my library so to keep along with my other pictures how should I do it?
    Thanks.

    Atique:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you just selected the photo and hit the Delete key the photo will only be deleted from the gallery and not the library. You need to use the CommandOptionDelete key combination to move the photo out of the web gallery and into the iPhoto trash bin. Then empty the trash bin via the iPhoto->Empty Trash menu option. That will delete the photo from your library and your HD.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Web Gallery strangely rearranging/deleting some photos in iPhoto 7.0.2?

Hi - I created a Web Gallery with iPhoto and .mac... Now whenever I try and edit the gallery in iphoto it duplicates, rearranges, and even sometimes deletes photos at randomly. I'll move one photo to the first position, and 5 seconds later it will automatically rearrange the photos randomly. Occasionally when I open iPhoto all/some of the photos in the Web gallery will have been duplicated. When it duplicates a picture in the Web Gallery folder, deleting one duplicate for some reason deletes BOTH.
Anyone else experiencing this? Know what to do about it? It makes the .Mac Web Gallery totally and completely unusable.

    Jeremy:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder. See if that will correct the problem.

  • Web Gallery Post and Delete Not Working

Before the latest update things seemed to work as expected. After the update my web gallery doesn't work as expected. From imovie 08 I can't successfully delete movies nor can I successfully load them.
Anyone else with the same issues. Apple has really dropped the ball on "works out of the box" or in my case, out of the credit card.
No more money will go to them till they clean up their act.

  • Photoshop deletes the security text while creating a web-gallery

    Hi!
I unintendedly must have changed some settings in my photoshop 7, as the security text adding while creating a web-gallery doesn't work anymore.
The steps for creating a web-gallery I go through and finally choose the text to appear on every picture. However, while creating the web-gallery, photoshop automatically first adds the text, then deletes the text layer so that at the end no text appears on the picture, when the web-gallery is ready.
Can someone help me? I am trying to fix it for the last two weeks and I am sure it's got a very simple reason.
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Cüneyt

I am really desperate. Isn'T there anyone to help?`
Now here are the steps the Photoshop goes while creating a photo gallery. After I'Ve chosen the presettings (image sizes, security settings etc.)
    1) Open
    2) Type Tool (here it types the security text onto the picture)
    3) Rotate
    4) Select Canvas
    5) Align Bottom Edges
    6) Align Right Edges (Because I asked to place the text at the bottom-right corner)
    7) Move (Moves the text to the corner)
    8) Deselect
    9) Delete Layer
    10) Image Size
For what the hell it makes the step 9, where it deletes the layer, which is practically the text? First it puts the text onto the picture, then it deletes it again.
