Delete of hold songs in library ?

Since last monday my Mac is working in iTunes to match my library . Looks like tonight the job will be done ( including abaout 300 songs uploaded )
Now I'm wondering : to get a new library with the same good quality music , is it advisable to delete all songs in my library and download the new versions from iCloud ???? Or should I keep my library

Honestly, you're really the only one who can answer your questions. However I'd ask myself one important question: am I satisfied with how my music sounds now?
Just because you can upgrade your entire music library, wholesale, doesn't mean you should. For one thing, there are bound to be some mis-matches. Many people are reporting that eplicit songs are being matched with clean songs and vice versa, and a small handfull have reported that the competely wrong song was delivered. So anything you do do should only be attempted after you have a complete backup of your existing music files.
If you do decide to avail yourself of the "upgraded" music from the store I suggest you do so one artist at at a time. Do not, under any circumstances, delete your entire library and attempt to download everything at once. You're just asking for trouble. Do it a little bit at a time so you can make sure you're getting the same music you matched, and you'll be able to easily correct any problems that might crop up.

  • How to delete duplicate/triplicate songs in library?

    Hi,
I recently had to consolidate songs in multiple libraries and pc's into one master PC. I now have about 8 days of music in the new consolidated maer PC library. As it goes, the during the consolidation, I ended up with multiple copies of many songs in the same library.
How can I quickly remove duplicate songs in my libarary without having to check each one individually?
    Help.

I have done exactly the same thing. I now have a mixed bag of single, duplicate and triplicate song entries. I have gone through my Playlists and only checked the first copy of each entry but frankly, am not confident about selecting "delete". Can't do much harm to my dups and trips but feel that I could lose singles.
Is there any foolproof method to remove just the exyraneous copies.
    Thanks

  • My new I5 uploaded doubleded all the songs from my library! Please, can somebody help me showing how can I delete just the songs that was doubled?

    Hi there everybody,
My new Iphone 5 uploaded doubleded all the songs from my library! Please, can somebody help me showing how can I delete just the songs that was doubled?
Some help will be greatly appreciate.
    Thanks much!

When you say "account," do you mean your iTunes library, because your iTunes library is what is on your computer?  Your iTunes library does not have an email address.  An account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID (which is an email address) and you use it as your user name to sign in to the iTunes Store, to make purchases.  Changing your Apple ID will not make songs disappear from your computer's iTunes library.
If you had an Apple ID and used it to make song purchases from the iTunes Store, and then started using a different Apple ID, you should be able to re-download the songs purchased with the old Apple ID.  In iTunes, sign in to the iTunes Store using your OLD Apple ID (and password).  That may not be your current email address, but Apple uses it as your user name, so it does not matter.
On the iTunes Store Home screen, click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS.  This takes you do the Purchased screen, where you can re-download previous song purchases (for that Apple ID) at no cost.
NOTE:  If those song purchases are from more than a few years ago, you may also need to authorize your computer to play (and sync) songs for your old Apple ID.
For songs that were not purchased from the iTunes Store, if they are also gone, you cannot get them back unless you have a backup (or they are still loaded on your old iPod).
If that's not what you mean by "changed the email address on my account," please post back with more details.

  • IPhone would not let me delete individual song from library, tried deleting album to remove music from local storage, now certain songs from album do not show in iTunes match on iPhone only on computer

Upon completion of matching and uploading my very large library of music (+15,000), I wanted to see how iTunes Match worked on my iPhone. I started it and selected the first album in the list to listen to. I let it play the entire album and then decided that I wanted to remove certain songs off of the iPhone's local storage. Tried to delete the individual songs and it would not let me. So I figured that I would go back and just delete the album. After selecting delete I went back to listen to one of the songs on the album and realized that it deleted several of the songs from the iTunes Match completely. When pulling iTunes up on my computer the songs are still there but does not give me the option to upload to iTunes Match.
I have tried turning off Match on iPhone and back on (doesn't seem to do anything cause when turned off the iPhone still displays the music.)
Then tried power cycling. (Still shows the music)
Then I tried power cycling again and resyncing the phone and the iPhone still shows the music as it was on the phone.
How do I get the music to be accessable on the iPhone again.. I have been messing with this for the course of 3 hours now.. and any help would be appreciated!!
    iPhone 3GS 8GB

Actually Michael I know exactly how to delete.. The iPhone would not let me swipe to the left to delete the individual song, so I went to the album view and did it there.. The issue I am having is a bug because it removed 3/4 of the albums availablity off my iPhone.. You post proved no help because it is basic troubleshooting which, if you read my post, I have already done.. I did however figure out how to fix my issue on my own.. Basically I had to remove the album from my iTunes on my computer and upload it again to iTunes Match..

  • I mistakenly downloaded the explicit version of a song and now can't seem to delete it.  I've put the file in the trash, I've deleted it in my music library but everytime I sync my phone to my computer it reappears.  Help!  This is so frustrating.

I purchased an explicit version of a song by mistake.  I then went back on line and purchased the clean version.  I've deleted it from my itunes library but when I sync it with my phone, it reappears.  How do I remove it permanently?  It almost seems like what's on my phone is what appears on my computer and not the other way around.
    Help!

For most things that's true, but purchases are the exception.

    Hi, Abril_Perez17.
This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default.  Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.  See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled.  This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

  • If you delete duplicates in your itunes library, does itunes still leave one version of the song(s) in your itunes library

if you delete duplicates in your itunes library, does itunes still leave one version of the song(s) in your itunes library

I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. See this  thread for background.

  • I would like my music to be deleted from both my itunes library and my pc file. however i only see the remove from itunes option and the song remains in the pc folder afterwards.

when i delete a song from my library, i am not given the option to delete it also from my pc file as the help section shows.
after clicking delete and remove only the library reference is removed. song in file remains.

Take a look at my FindTracks script. Download it and test it out on a few tracks first. Use the No option first time around to manually confirm each path that it wants to fix so you can see how it works. When you're happy it does what you want select a larger group of tracks to process automatically.

  • HT2905 When i delete an unwanted song from my library, the next time i switch pc on, the song is back in my library, it must be in the cloud so how do i remove it from the cloud.

How can i delete an unwanted song from itunes cloud, each time i delete it from my library, it comes back again the next time i switch on.

    Hi harryhal!
You may want to make sure that your preference for showing iTunes in the Cloud purchases is turned off:
Downloading past purchases from the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
Make sure that you have "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" enabled in your iTunes preferences by going to iTunes > Preferences in the Store tab and clicking OK.
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • How do you remove songs from library that were deleted through the finder?

    Hi All,
I deleted several hundred songs through the finder, but they are still listed in the iTunes Library.  Is there any way to have iTunes scan for missing audio files and remove them from the list?  I can do it manually, but I was hoping there was a way for iTunes to scan for missing media.
    Thanks!

Search Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes for something like "dead tracks", or just browse his scripts. You should find a script that will do this. I know that there were at least one or two, but I can't access Doug's site right now to get the exact names.
    Regards.

  • I want to delete all the songs with broken links at once

I lost a file with a lot of songs on it and it can't be retrieved.  How can I delete all the song titles with broken links at once without having to delete 500 songs one at a time?

One way to identify the broken links in your library is to create this set of playlists:
    Lost & Found playlists
Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist. Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist. They can be deleted with CTRL+A then SHIFT+DELETE.
Or use iTunes Folder Watch and enable its option to check for dead tracks on startup.
If you have any Apple devices that could hold the lost media see this user tip.
Finally, while I'm handing out advice, see this backup tip to avoid this problem again.

  • İTunes deleting my all songs from my PC

I deleted my İTunes library becaouse of my mistake. But iTunes deleted my all songs from my computer. Luckily I have a copy of them, I tought it's about  settings of iTunes but I'm not sure and new to iTunes. Could you help me?

The best route is to create a new library as follows:
    1.  Start iTunes holding down the shift key, select the option for creating a new library;
    2.  Import the folder containing your Song files;
    3.  Create a secure backup of your new library;
    4.  Turn on iTunes Match and allow the 3-step process to run to completion.
