Delete old entries

Hi Experts,
One of my clients system is perfoming very slow because of lots of entries. Whether i can delete the old entries ? i.e entries of 2000,2001 etc. ?
Is there is any impact if  i delete these entries?
What is the T-code for deleting the old entries?
What is the use of T-code  f.63 ?
Regards,
Anish

Hi,
You are not supposed to delete transaction data, this is serious violation of financial regulations. However, there is a mechanism of archiving in SAP. You can read more about it here:
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/8d/3e5163462a11d189000000e8323d3a/frameset.htm
Anyway, low performance does not always mean that you have a lot of data. You should analyse your system in terms of hardware and read some notes about low performance of specific transactions. Sometimes, a professional analysis of system performance is required. You can address this request to your BASIS team.

Eli

  • DTM deleted old entries in iCal!

I keep my old entries in iCal as sort of a diary.  A short while ago I started looking for something from a couple of years ago (on my computer), and discovered that everything that was over a year old was gone!.  I was not aware of the archive feature of iCal prior to that time, so just figured I could restore everything from a backup.  No go -- don't know how long the data had been missing.  So, I manually recreated what I could from my computer at work, and archived it for safekeeping.  Last evening I synced my BB Curve again, and now the data from older than 10 years is gone (my data went back to 1993).  I had purposefully done an archive just before syncing for that very reason, so I was able to restore.
Does anybody know why this is happening?  And what to do to correct it?  I know I can archive each time I want to sync, but that seems a hassle.  Don't really care if the info is on my BB or not, but most assuredly do NOT want it deleted from my iCal.  The data is very important to me.

in iCal preferences>advanced tab...you can select to delete (or not) events and items....see if any of these are checked.

  • ICal synch wants to delete old entries

Recently when I use BB Desktop to synch with my new MacBook, it wants to add 2, modify 482 and delete 1053. The first 2 are not a problem but I do not want to delete old iCal entries.
I've tried adjusting to synch only Future or synch between -999 and +999 days to no avail.
What work around can I use to get back to synching?
    Thanks

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

This helped me for this problem...
On your BlackBerry, go to the Calendar, then press the Menu button, and select Options. Do you have a settings that says "Keep Appointments" set for a specified time.
If yes, you will need to change that to forever.
Once I changed that, I did an overwrite sync of the BlackBerry (I use Missing Sync). Then normal syncing worked fine without deleting old events.

  • Calendar deletes old entries

Even though under general calendar options I checked "forever" for Keep Appointments, it has started to delete old ones. What to do?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Please go to options and then to status. Check the file free number
is it significantly below 15728640 bytes?
Besides calendar appointments are you losing text, emails, and call logs
    sooner than usual?
If so you are experiencing memory problems.
See the attached link for the fix!

  • How do I safely delete old entries in Time Machine?

    Hi All,
I recently did my first ever Time Machine back up prior to upgrading my OSX to 10.8 from 10.6.8.
A few weeks on, all is working fine with no conflicts.
Yesterday I upgraded Aperture from 2 to 3.  I know that Time Machine doesn't copy the entire library file on each back-up, just the changes, but with the recent upgrade it has changed a fair bit and used quite a chunk of disk space (200GB).
Once I've been in to the new Aperture 3 upgrade and am satisfied that its running fine with no conflicts, I'll have no need for the Aperture 2 library back-up, as I no longer use the application.
My question is:  Can I delete all older Time Machine entries until the first back up after the upgrade to Aperture 3.  Will this still preserve all data on the library?  There's not that many as I back up manually not hourly.  Sorry if that's a basic question, I'm completely new to TM and not sure precisely how it works with upgrades from one Aperture library to another.
    Thanks for your help.
    Richard

You just described one reason it's a bad idea to use a single volume for Time Machine backups and other content. Time Machine expects to use the entire volume. It will respect the other content and not erase it, but you will eventually be left with zero free space.
Edit to add: When that occurs, Time Machine will erase older backups to make room for newer ones, but the problem is that once there is no free space remaining on the backup volume you cannot copy anything else to it. This certainly precludes using Time Machine to back up whatever non-Time Machine content exists on that volume. You would have to erase the source content first, after which Time Machine will eventually erase its backup as well.
You cannot limit the backup size without limiting the volume size. To do that you must partition it. That is not ideal either, since loss of the drive means losing both partitions.

  • How can I delete old entries on my calendars

I use iCal for my business, and I did make one calendar for each person on the company, so I do have 18 calendar with each appointment, about 6 to 8 per day. I been using ical for a 2 years now and I need to delete all the old appointments, at last 6 months older (is getting to heavy for a lamp imac).
If I can do a buckup and them delete will be much better.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
All backups made on iCloud overwrite the old one, so you have only the latest backup with your most recent files. If you have a backup of an old device, open Settings > iCloud > Storage and Backup > Manage Storage, select the backup and delete that backup

  • Solman 7.1; delete old database from SMSY

We have done upgrade to solman 7.1 . So we use SMSY with datasource LMDB now.
In former times the database host of some SAP-systems  were changed.
So we have some old obsolete entries like database <SID>_0001 in SMSY (sent by SLD BEFORE the solman upgrade.
If we try to delete old entry in SMSY-> databases by right mouse click , system opens the LMDB maintenance, because maintenance should normally done in LMDB.  There is no database <SID>_0001 in LMDB and the SLDs  - only the correct  System <SID> with database <SID> with correct server data.
How can we properly delete the obsolete entries in SMSY ?
In the LM Db Setup Guide I only found some troubleshooting for sync problems between LMDB and SLD, but not how to delete manually in SMSY in SM 7.1. Any ideas ?

    I have solved the problem.
The obsolete database was only in SMSY and NOT in SLD + LMDB - so no deletion possible in SMSY and LMDB (as suggested by community)
The obsolete database <SID>_0001 was not used by any SAP system in SMSY.
I used the workaround of creating a dummy database system with the obsolete name in LMDB for later deletion  and sync to SMSY.
    steps:
I create a new technical system  in LMDB: select type " Database system" instead of default "ABAP ....."
    Identification of technical system:
    databasename: <SID>_0001
databasehost:  you can use the correct server if you like
    databasetype: DB2, oracle, etc...
    Next screen (identification technical system):
extended systemname: SID>_0001 (change it to the value you want to delete in SMSY.  My solman suggested <SID>00001)
    Save
Optional: In next screen you can adapt the description of the system, which will be displayed in SMSY very quickly!
Then delete system from LMDB => deletion of database will be synchonized into SMSY.
    Work done.

  • Delete old calendar items on iCloud

    Hello,
we are using the calendar on iPad Mini synchronizing the entries with iCloud. We can deactivate old calendar items but this doesn't delete them. How can we delete old entries from the calendar (e.g. older than 3 months) and therefore, also delete them from the iCloud storage?
    Kind regards,
    Mike

On the next sync, you can choose to replace all events on the iphone.
This option is found at the bottom of the info tab in itunes.
Befor you use this, make sure that any events on the iphone have ben moved to the computer.
    Hope this helps.

I am new to CRM world , so excuse me if I am missing anything here.
I am trying to delete old bdoc entries from our system. I read up and found Bdoc entries can be deleted by scheduling the reorganization job execution(Report SMO6_REORG2) and we already run this report everyday with standard options:
Here's our current table sizes and also the message flow statisctics with average times.
Please let me know if the entries/messages are in optimum size or if there is anything else I need to do to bring the entries further down.

    Thank you!

    Hi MMD,
Please see my response to your questions below.
    a. Is it safe to just delete the old files and just create a BDoc Type entries for BUPA_MAIN and BUPA_Rel so that we could apply the DO NOT SEND resolution?
Ans: It is not advisable to delete the BDocs as it may cause data inconsistency but if you are ready to do some extra work and your business allows you to initiate the initial load then you can surely delete the queues. Use the DIMA tool to find out the data inconsistency and resolve it.
    b. If we set up the BDOC types and apply the DO NOT SEND resolution, will it be safe to reprocess all the pending CSA* queues even if its old already (May 2008) to clear the SMW01 queues as well?
Ans: You can restart the queues any time it does not matter how old it is.
    Thanks,
    Vikash.

  • Sync new and deleted Outlook entries -- but not changed entries

    Mate,
I'm using a basic 8700.  When I sync my Outlook Calendar (with multiple PCs per protocol where I start AND end with my base PC), the new and deleted entries transfer in the sync to mulriple PCs, but entries which I have revised (changed appointment time or text, for example) do not reflect the revisions.  I've doubled-checked all of my preferences, conflict resolution, etc.  It's not a settings issue -- I don't think -- because all new and deleted entries upodate, plus I get a conflict screen if both sides of the operation change the same discreet entry.  I've researched it quite a bit but can't find anything on-point about why all new and deleted entries transfer, but old entries which are altered entries do not get updated.  Certainly, someone out there syncs with more than one PC (desktop and laptop, for example) and has seen this or resolved it...

  • Workflow- how to delete the entry in inbox

    Hi,
I had the entry open from my inbox.  The same entry was then opened by another sap user to modify.  So I received the modified entry in my inbox (at that moment, it showed I received JE 1000000138 twice). I open the modified entry, and I approved it. Then I realize I have the "old version" of the entry still in my inbox, but I cannot delete it from my inbox. as per my needs i want delete the old entry, is it possible? if possible please explain me step by step.
    Regards,
    Revoori

    Hi Ashok,
Try using the FM SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_DELETE. Pass the necessary parameters and would delete the inbox.
Check the workflow log for the workitem ID that has to be passed to the above FM.
Hope this would solve your issue.
    Good luck

  • How to delete calendar entries older than 2 years without recurring events

The calendar files get larger and larger and slower and slower
it would be nice to get rid of old entries
recurring events that are active for less than 2 years shold NOT be removed

I wanted that same function for myself, but could not find anything out there to do it. Since I am a professional programmer, I wrote a program in Python to do the job.
My program has several limitations such as events only (no TO DO, no JOURNAL, no ALARMS, etc), but it was all I needed. The output is acceptable to Lightning and Google.
If you are computer literate I could give you the source code. You would also need Python on your computer.
An alternative is to take the exported .ics file and use a text editor on it to delete all the old stuff -- a very tedious process!
In either case, the overall process would be to export the calendar to an .ics file, cut out the old items, delete everything from your calendar (or just create a new calendar), and then import the cleaned up .ics file.

  • Reduce Size or delete unwanted entries from tables AllDocStreams,AllDocVersions,EventCache,EventLog of Sharepoint 2010 content database

Size or delete unwanted  entries from tables AllDocStreams,AllDocVersions,EventCache,EventLog  of Sharepoint 2010 content database:
We using  powershell  scripts to migrate data between   two  sharepoint  2010 sites .
While  doing migration  we  delete all  document libraries  & list  form  destination  site  and then run  powershell to migrate data from  source to destination. We following this  process
    twice in a week.
But in doing  so  we found the above mention tables (AllDocStreams,AllDocVersions,EventCache,EventLog ) of destination Sharepoint Content database  are growing at an alarming rate.
Wish to know  how  could get rid of  unwanted  data stored in these tables.

    Hi,

  • Is it safe to delete Old QRFc logs ?

    Hi team ,
In SMQ 1 of ECC system we are able to see more entries for few Data sources like
    0BP_STATUS_ATTR
    0BP_TAXNUMB_ATTR
    0FI_AP_3
    0BP_ROLES_ATTR
For these data source the Entries are more( around 10000) and they not loaded to BW end and these entries are very long during 2012 and For these DS the message is like , Update terminated, NOSEND in ECC SMQ 1.
As all these Datasoucres are running as Delta laods in BW system and they are very old periods like 2012 data and when we verify during that old periods the loads are completed in BW end , but SMQ1 entries are there. Please suggest can we delete these entries in ECC system end.

    hi Sarthak,
qRFCs are nothing but an enhancement to tRFC, although it also uses the same mechanism as tRFC - with the advantage that it transfers data in the same sequence in inbound and outbound.
It should be safe to delete those if it dates back to so long.
Please check the below link, it might help : qRFC Administration - Connectivity - SAP Library
    Hope this helps!
