Delete old saved results of BI reports
Hi All,
I have a query on BI reports
In the BI reports, any user can save the result of the report.
Is there any option to delete old saved results.
If so How can we delete the results?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Sujana

Deleting old messages problem (adapter status 001)
Hi,
I am trying to delete old messages, and some of them are staying in system. Here is the result of 'RSXMB_SHOW_STATUS' report:
Message Status
Message Status: 003 Number: 85.274
Adapter Status of Messages with Message Status: 003
Adapter Status: 000 Number: 4.040
Adapter Status: 001 Number: 74.290
Adapter Status: 002 Number: 0
Adapter Status: 003 Number: 0
Adapter Status: 004 Number: 0
Adapter Status: 005 Number: 0
Adapter Status: 006 Number: 4.806
Adapter Status: 007 Number: 2.122
Adapter Status: 008 Number: 6
Adapter Status: 009 Number: 0
Adapter Status: 010 Number: 0
Adapter Status > 010 Number: 0
So, there is 74.290 messages whith 001 status in adapter. Archieve and delete jobs don't want to delete them, and status isn't going to change. Refreshing adapter status did help with most of messages but 74.290 is what still there after refresh. Any ideas how to bring them to final state or may be its possible delete them in this state?Hi,
Above Messages are related to your IDoc and BPM related interfaces...
so you need to schedule a report which does the deletion of the same...
Check the reports scheduled are running or not...
I dont remeber the reports which does the job of changing the status...

Deletion of Query View in Web Report
Hi,
I need to provide the functionality to Delete the Query View in the Web Reports.
Please suggest how this can be done.
I am new to web reporting and any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
RajKumar.Hi,
We have built a template that is extension of standard template 0ADHOC_TABLE provided by SAP. In our template we have added OPEN view and SAVE view APIs mentioned in SAP documentation to provide the features to open a query view and to save a query view. Now we need to provide a feature to delete a query view functionality to users as there were many old saved views that are no longer relevant and needs to be deleted.
Unfortunately the open view screen that opens does not provide feature to delete the query view.
Request your help on this, how did you provide this feature to the users. what did we miss?
For more clarification, I would speak to you please provide me your contact number.
Thanks and Regards,

HOW to delete the saved score in a game downloaded from the app store to restart the game from the begining with fresh scores.
i am unable to do so. please helpIn system preferences, create a new account again, using the short name of the "deleted" account. You may be prompted to re-use the old home folder. Log out and log in to test it worked. Then log in as your new admin, and do the delete process again. Don't choose to securely delete this time - just a regular delete.
When you have time to spare, go to Disk Utility, and use the Erase tab to securely erase free space on the drive. This will accomplish the same thing that your originally tried to do. Use the fastest method - anything more secure is a waste of time. You may need to run it overnight - it can take several hours.

Problem in creating Saved Result Set (SRS) in OBIEE 10.1.3.4
Hi,
We have migrated Siebel Analytincs 7.8.5 to OBIEE 10.1.3.4, and we are now unable to create any SRS from OBIEE though we can create Segment and marketing cache for the segment.
We did the following steps -
1. Unisntall Siebel Analytincs 7.8.5
2. Install OBIEE 10.1.3.4
3. Use MIGRATE tool (sawmigrate) to migrate RPD & WEBCAT
4. We have ALTERed the SRS tables - M_SR_HEADER, M_SR_ACCOUNT (as in OBIEE version there are many new columns have been added)
5. We passed GLOBAL CONSISTENCY in the RPD
6. We followed the steps in the document *"Oracle®Marketing Segmentation Guide Version 10.1.3.4 July 2008"*
7. We created a Saved Result Set Format as instructed in the document - here we are very confused to select the list of columns - we don't know what should be the excat source / format
8. Then we click the SRS create button
9. We got the below error -
Error Codes: QS2QOLYY:GDL67CY9:IHVF6OM7:OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC
Error in getting cursor for WorkNode (Id:0)
Authentication Failure.
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW).

Can anyone help us to resolve the issue ?
A quick response is much much appreciated.
Many Thanks,
PrasantaHi,
It seems like you didnt setup the Administrator user for Saved Result Sets as it mentioned in the Marketing Segmentation Guide.
Here is an extract from the guide:
Setting Up the Web Administrator for Managing Cache and Saved Result Sets
Some queries issued by the segmentation engine require the use of the Execute Physical stored
procedure. These queries include delete statements on the cache, delete statements on the saved
result sets, and insert statements for the cache and saved result set. The Execute Physical stored
procedure must be run by a user with administrator privileges. The administrator user is set up in
the instanceconfig.xml file.
NOTE: The BI Administrator password and login parameters are case sensitive.
To set up the administrative user in the instanceconfig.xml file
1 Open a command shell and navigate to the <OracleBI>/web/bin, where <OracleBI> represents
the root directory of the installation.
2 Execute the following command:
cryptotools credstore -add -infile <OracleBIData>/web/config/credentialstore.xml
3 When prompted, enter the following values:
Credential Alias: admin
Username: Administrator
Password: <enter Admin password here>
Do you want to encrypt the password? y
Passphrase for encryption: <password >
Do you want to write the passphrase to the xml? n
File "<OracleBIData>/web/config/credentialstore.xml" exists. Do you want to overwrite it? y
4 Open the credentialstore.xml file and verify that the following section has been created:
<sawcs:credential type="usernamePassword" alias=“admin">
<sawcs:username> Administrator </sawcs:username>
<sawcs:password>

Delete every payroll results in the system
Hi experts,
There is a special Test system where External useres can login to the system, so we'd like to delete every paroll results in the system.
My question is how can I do that * correctly & efficiently*?
I know that there is a report for that: "RPUDEL20" but imagine a company with 14.000 employees. So using the logical databse, and deleteing the paroll results ony-by-one, will took more than a day
My idea is to delete every record in the tables:
HRPY_RGDIR
HRPY_WPBP
HRPY_GROUPING
P01O_ZVB_RR
This is definetelly the fastest way, but is a good solution?
I mean what about the 0003 infotype (payroll status) and other relations to the payroll results? What will happen if I delete the tables?
There is no payroll testing in this system, we're using this system for ESS testing, so the payroll results are not relevant, but all other masterdata (PA and PD infotypes) are relevant.
I'm happy to hear any idea
Bye
N.Hi everyone,
Thank you for the answers, but I don't understand how can the LSMW help me. As I know the LSMW is a data migration tool. I don't want to import anything to the sap system, I just want to delete the existing payroll results. How does the LSMW help me in this?
Thanks

MarkusI was about to try this, but the problem was solved - by updating to ML DP3. Time Machine was able to report more specifically a UUID mismatch - which was strange as there had been no hardware changes:

Upshot is that after many hours it's back, and the sparseimage has been verified.
If it's of any use to anyone finding this, I would say that the solution seems to have been a Mac OS reinstall - which is counter-intuitive, but if all else fails, give it a go! -
Can we apply saved filters to union reports in obiee 11g?
Hi All
Can we apply saved filters to union reports in obiee 11g?
I am able to apply saved filters for normal reports but not for union reports.
The catalog pane is blank, when i click on result columns or each criteria.
The only option i see is to manually create the filters for each criteria, dont i have any choice to use a saved filter for union report?
Is this a bug or something i am unaware of , Please guide me.
Regards
PranatiI get the same issue. I thought that it's a problem in a security - the catalog pane is clear in a union report. But saved filters work in 11g. I migrated catalog from 10g to 11g and I see saved filters in the conditions. But you may add saved filters directly into xml. Go on Tab Advanced and edit Analysis XML. You have to add code like this
<sawx:expr xsi:type="sawx:savedFilter" path="/shared/FOLDER/_filters/FOLDER/FILTER_NAME" name="FILTER_NAME"/> in a right place. -
Delete old KM notifications in UWL.
Hello All,
We want to delete old KM notifications in Portal UWL. These notifications are approvals and subscriptions setup on various KM folders which appear in the UWL under notifications tab. Can someone advice if there is a way we can delete these notifications.
Thanks in advance.Hello Kalpana,
The Notification Cleanup report is probably better for you so in this scenario:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/46/f9b96a13ba2ecbe10000000a11466f/content.htm
You can enter multiple users, groups or roles when creating the report.
Kind regards,
Lorcan. -

Time Machine delete old backups
My wife has a MacBook Pro and uses Time Machine on a 500 GB external drive. She is using about 160 GB on her MacBook Pro, but the Time Machine drive is now full and is not backing up current files. The Time Machine backups go back to 2010 and two or three versions of the operating system. I would like to delete old backups from Time Machine, as I understand that only files no longer needed in other backups will be deleted. Is there any reason this approach should be avoided? Are there instructions on the best way to do this? Thanks.

yes, your wife ..
A: needs a MINIMUM of a second HD to archive data on
B: Yes, time machine "throws data out the window" when full
C: HD clones are more important.
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6031
Methodology to protect your data. Backups vs. Archives. Long-term data protection
Time Machine / Time Capsule
Drawbacks:
1. Time Machine is not bootable, if your internal drive fails, you cannot access files or boot from TM directly from the dead computer.
2. Time machine is controlled by complex software, and while you can delve into the TM backup database for specific file(s) extraction, this is not ideal or desirable.
3. Time machine can and does have the potential for many error codes in which data corruption can occur and your important backup files may not be saved correctly, at all, or even damaged. This extra link of failure in placing software between your data and its recovery is a point of risk and failure. A HD clone is not subject to these errors.
4. Time machine mirrors your internal HD, in which cases of data corruption, this corruption can immediately spread to the backup as the two are linked. TM is perpetually connected (or often) to your computer, and corruption spread to corruption, without isolation, which TM lacks (usually), migrating errors or corruption is either automatic or extremely easy to unwittingly do.
5. Time Machine does not keep endless copies of changed or deleted data, and you are often not notified when it deletes them; likewise you may accidently delete files off your computer and this accident is mirrored on TM.
6. Restoring from TM is quite time intensive.
7. TM is a backup and not a data archive, and therefore by definition a low-level security of vital/important data.
8. TM working premise is a “black box” backup of OS, APPS, settings, and vital data that nearly 100% of users never verify until an emergency hits or their computers internal SSD or HD that is corrupt or dead and this is an extremely bad working premise on vital data.
9. Given that data created and stored is growing exponentially, the fact that TM operates as a “store-it-all” backup nexus makes TM inherently incapable to easily backup massive amounts of data, nor is doing so a good idea.
10. TM working premise is a backup of a users system and active working data, and NOT massive amounts of static data, yet most users never take this into consideration, making TM a high-risk locus of data “bloat”.
11. In the case of Time Capsule, wifi data storage is a less than ideal premise given possible wireless data corruption.
12. TM like all HD-based data is subject to ferromagnetic and mechanical failure.
13. *Level-1 security of your vital data.
Advantages:
1. TM is very easy to use either in automatic mode or in 1-click backups.
2. TM is a perfect novice level simplex backup single-layer security save against internal HD failure or corruption.
3. TM can easily provide a seamless no-gap policy of active data that is often not easily capable in HD clones or HD archives (only if the user is lazy is making data saves).
HD clones (see below for full advantages / drawbacks)
Drawbacks:
1. HD clones can be incrementally updated to hourly or daily, however this is time consuming and HD clones are, often, a week or more old, in which case data between today and the most fresh HD clone can and would be lost (however this gap is filled by use of HD archives listed above or by a TM backup).
2. Like all HD-based data is subject to ferromagnetic and mechanical failure.
Advantages:
1. HD clones are the best, quickest way to get back to 100% full operation in mere seconds.
2. Once a HD clone is created, the creation software (Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper) is no longer needed whatsoever, and unlike TM, which requires complex software for its operational transference of data, a HD clone is its own bootable entity.
3. HD clones are unconnected and isolated from recent corruption.
4. HD clones allow a “portable copy” of your computer that you can likewise connect to another same Mac and have all your APPS and data at hand, which is extremely useful.
5. Rather than, as many users do, thinking of a HD clone as a “complimentary backup” to the use of TM, a HD clone is superior to TM both in ease of returning to 100% quickly, and its autonomous nature; while each has its place, TM can and does fill the gap in, say, a 2 week old clone. As an analogy, the HD clone itself is the brick wall of protection, whereas TM can be thought of as the mortar, which will fill any cracks in data on a week, 2-week, or 1-month old HD clone.
6. Best-idealized 2nd platform redundancy for data protection, and 1st level for system restore of your computers internal HD. (Time machine being 2nd level for system restore of the computer’s internal HD).
7. *Level-2 security of your vital data.
HD cloning software options:
1. SuperDuper HD cloning software APP (free)
2. Carbon Copy Cloner APP (will copy the recovery partition as well)
3. Disk utility HD bootable clone. -
Time Machine incorrectly deleting old backups
Hi
I have a Macbook Air with a 128Gb SSD and I am using Time Machine to back up to an external 500Gb USB2.0 drive connected to my Airport Extreme.
The drive is formatted as Mac OS extended Journaled and is dedicated to Time Machine backups only. The problem is that Time Machine reports that the disk has run out of space and has deleted old backups. This can't be true as the Sparsebundle file is only about 70Gb and the drive has over 400Gb of capacity.
I have tried reformatting the disk and starting over but the problem keeps returning. When I enter time machine it has deleted all the old back ups and I can only go back in time a few days.
Any help appreciated! Thanks for the reponse.
I checked and there are no other sparsebundles on the drive and there have been no changes made to the hardware.
Time machine seems to be working correctly as it successfully makes and completes teh back ups at regular intervals throughout the day. The message that there is no space available comes around every couple of weeks, which I'm guessing is based on the fact it keeps deleting all the recent backups except the last one and then the cycle repeats.
My own 'limited' opinion is that TM is having difficulty resizing the sparsebundle in some way and therefore can only maintain the backup within the initial size of the first backup. (e.g. the Macbook AIR SSD reports approx 113Gb of space and I am currently using 82.07Gb. The sparsebundle is currently sized at 75.66Gb on Disk (81.16Gb)
I checked the permissions of the sparse file and they are set to R&W for everyone so there shouldn't be an access problem.
I have only recently moved to the Mac environment and the Macbook air is my first apple computer so I am not very familiar with the environment, but this is an extremely annoying problem and renders TM vitually useless. -
How do I perminantly delete old tracks???
Could some one please tell me how to delete old tracks that are saved on my mac pro in the music folder. They are a whole bunch of tests and I just want to clean up my music folder and save the rest on a external drive.
Thank you so much.Move them to the trash.
Usually you should save all your projects including all your audio/EXS etc. files in a seperate project folder. This way you cannot loose data when you delete other project folders.
When you are not sure if your project folders include all the necessary files I suggest to open each project you want to keep and save it with "save as" to another harddrive. In the save dialogue box chosse "including all audio files" and depending on your projects also "include exs files" etc.
This way you can make sure that you do not loose data which you still need.
But: Be careful when you have used "melodyne" for example or other software which by default creates files in different folders (there is a dedicated folder in the library) than the project folder. Then its a bit more complicated because you would have to move all these files manually to your new harddisc and specify the location when you open your project the next time.
Hope that helps,

Deleting old projects in Xcode/Organizing projects
Any information or guidence is appriciated on the following.
1.) How do I delete old projects in Xcode? I have many old projects that I do not want taking up space.
2.) Is there any tutorial or reference that I could look at to improve my knowledge on....
a.) Saving Projects to certain locations (Advantages/Disadvantages)
b.) How do organize my projects with in Xcode more efficiently?
thanksDelete your old projects by moving the folders containing the project's files to the Trash.
Save your projects wherever you want. You said you have many old projects, which implies you've been using Xcode for a while. Did the location where you saved your old projects cause you any problems? If not, keep saving your new projects where you saved the old projects.
