  • Changing EXIF Data?

Photoshop 10 insists on displaying camera/name/manufacturer as a "caption" on any pictures taken with either my Olympus PEN E-PL2 or my Samsung Galaxy S.  According to Olympus tech support, this is a "misinterpretation" of the EXIF data recorded with the picture.  I can manually delete the captions but, as the British would say, it's a pain in the arse.  Is there any way to tell PSE 10 to stop displaying this data?

Simply select thumbnails in the Organizer e.g. click the first then hold down shift and click the last to select a whole batch. Then use the top menu :
Edit >> Add Caption to selected Items
Leave the caption field blank and tick the box “Replace Existing captions” then click OK
Then click Yes to confirm clearing.

  • How can I change exif data in images?

I've been poking around the interent looking for an answer to no avail.
I want to edit a lot of image exif / metadata but I cannot figure out how to do it. iPhoto allows me to edit the time but not the embedded info. When I used a PC all I had to do was right click and select properties and I could edit a myriad of info in the image. Not so easy with the iMac. I know how to view the data within finder (command I), but this does not allow me to edit what I want.
Please don't tell me it's a bad idea to do this. I know it is. I don't want it for all my photos, just the things I put on the internet for public display. This 100% due to privacy issues and other personal reasons.
I was told that opening a terminal and simply typing "exiftool" (without quotes) would yeild the results I'm looking for, but that only returned a command not found error. I'm sure I did that wrong.
    Anyone know of a solution?

  • Web Gallery - Changing Exif data

I was setting up a web gallery and liked the EXIF example, however, it showed the Camera model (OK) but also the serial number which I don't want there. Is it possible to change this?
    Cheers Peter

    There is undocumented and
absolutely unsupported way of adding formatting information into the Text Template Editor that will allow you to add line breaks and make the text bold etc.
    It uses the form:
    <ag:formatted><br /></ag:formatted>
    for line breaks and
    <ag:formatted><b></b></ag:formatted>
for bold. Just place your text or token in between the <b></b>
What ever appears between the<ag:formatted> tags HAS to be VALID XML or it will simply break. That is why the br tag has the trailing / on the end. This is the equivalent of <br></br>
I will make a text template as an example and post it later.

  • Who deleted or changed data

    Hi All,
Is there a transaction to know to who deleted the plan version or changed the plan version in KP97?
and  t code to find who deleted or changed master data in finance.
Our posting periods T001B have also been changed and amounts posted to wrong periods and one of the virement.
WE ARE HAVING ISSUE AS BELOW--
I too looked at both tables COBK and COEJ and noticed that the documents were not shown in table COEJ. If these records have been deleted I'm not sure how to check this unless the system can show an audit trail of when table COEJ was last edited? (Presuming that the only way to delete these records is to physically delete them from the table directly?)
The entries on 10th August 2009 in plan version 3 shown in the screenshot below relates as you say to the overnight job through transaction ZPVC, this transaction must have picked up that on the 10th August records were missing from table COEJ and therefore recognised this and therefore posted the difference, for example ZPVC realised that in table COEJ ledger code 200310/55010 now totals to £2,289,824 and not £2,069,324.
AND COULD BELOW EXPLANATION BE A REASON FOR ABOVE PROBLEM*********
The point of my e mail is to query whether this issue could be related to the changes made during the weekend of the 8th and 9th of August, just prior to go live with the system enhancements. The other issue which leads me to believe that this could be related to the go live transition, is that on Monday the 10th August we discovered that the period settings had been changed from current period 5 to previous period 4.
Thankfully we were able to confirm that no postings were made to period 4 during this time which would have lead to errors in the accounts.
ANY LEAD ON THIS WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    To see the IMG changes proceed as follows;
Position Cursor on the IMG node and click on "Change Log" button (F7). If table loggin is not enabled then you may not be able to see the changes already made. But to track future changes in IMG settings you may Activate Table Logging at the Client Lebel. This can be helped by Basis Team. To check
For changes made using KP97 you will be able to see changes in the planning screen. Go to KP06 or KP26 or KP46 and select the values and press overview button. Then position cursor on the value that you think has got changed and click Line Items (CTRL + SHIFT + F3) you will see the changes.
    For changes to FI Master data there are different TCodes;
FS04 - Display changes to GL master centrally etc.
The user id will be available in the change log.
    Thanks,

    Hi Srinivas
Yes, You can delete the contents of changle log table but not the contents of new data and active data table.
Before deleting the change log data you have to make sure that the requests are not required for further delta extraction or for reconstruction purpose.
    Steps
    1. Goto Manage screen of your ods
    2. Click on Environment tab and select the option " Delete change log data".
    Adv:
To free up the disk space.

  • Batch Change "Date Modified" to match Exif Data After iPhoto Export

Among several other posts about similar situations, I have found none that directly and simply resolve this issue.
My wife imported a bunch of photos into iPhoto directly, but I wanted them in a folder on the hard drive.
I pulled them out of iPhoto into a folder, then deleted the ones in iPhoto so that I could sort them and reimport.
I then realized that the photos all now showed the date they were imported into iPhoto as their created/modified dates, which makes it impossible to easily sort them by the date of the pictures.
I checked the Exif data, and it has preserved the correct creation date event though checking "info" on the pictures shows create date the same as modified the same as iPhoto import.
Is there an easy way to batch change an entire folder of pictures to change the Created/Modified dates to match the Created date from the Exif data?
The only other similar posts had answers that reccomend a piece of software that does not seem to actually do this, and one that suggests some sort of confusing script that I don't really understand.
Please help - I have a bunch of family photos that I really need to fix.

shootShifter helps to redate and rename complete folders of images based on the EXIF data or Finder dates.
    So it will do batches.
I also believe that exporting the Original (File -> Export: Kind Original) will make all of this unnecessary.
I don't like having them only in iPhoto so I organize the originals into folders by choronological event then import them so I have copies outside the iPhoto library to put elsewhere.
You understand that you're using twice the disk space there, right? And that it's quite unnecessary. All iPhoto does is to put them in folders too. Have you looked inside the iPhoto Library ever?
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed. Your photos are in the Masters folder.
Standard warning: Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things,, deleting them or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.

  • In iPhoto 11 changing the Date and Time EXIF becomes Garbage?

Hi- the new photo date I choose for a photo (say 1946) turns into garbage after saving - like 1165 or 1492- ( and Columbus would be suprised).
Detail: About 5 years ago in Windows PC in  XP folders  I scanned old family pics into folder for 1946 and all was well= until few months back in 2011 I crossed over to Mac Book Air and  iPhoto 11.
However iphoto  doesnt care for file name- Its sorts all in event date based on scan date- exif date-  embedded by the scanner when I did it. OK. Smarter.
So to change its date I select each photo in iphoto11- then  select "change date" and changed the date what I want it to say (like   06/06/1946) - and saved .
Problem. Now it has two dates against it - one date in year 1492 and the other in 1765- .
I have tried changing the date differently using  the little Up or Down arrows, and its scrolls (eventually!) to 1946 -I  do a save..... and another crazy date turns up-
Am guessing so its got to be a trick related to the " day counter"- mind you I dont see the pint of telling me that my photo is having its date changed by some quantity of thousands of days- Doh that sounds very Windows like.
I must be doing it wrong.
    Any experts please?
    Thanks in advance !

    Thanks AppleMan1958, you're right.
My view was set to Favorites and Unmarked so when I imported the video, rejected parts of it, and THEN changed the date I was unable to see that I wasn't changing the date on the rejected portion. I changed the view to All Clips (in the View menu) and then I could plainly see that the rejected clips still had the current date.

  • EXIF Dates - how to add/change using exiv2 . . . is there a better way?

    Hi, everyone!
INTRO: I'm new to Lightroom. I've gone through a few books and lots of tutorial courses on lynda and youtube, so I feel quite comfortable with LR 5's import process. This post and question is a pre-import/organizational issue.
I have more than 30,000 old, digitized (scanned) photos dating back to the 1950s. Obviously, most of were taken with old, analog cameras. These are now organized into folders by date.
GOAL: I want to import these photos into LR and be able to find them by metadata dates (Capture Date & Time).
PROBLEM: Obviously, old scanned (or even more recent manipulated) photos often don't have the correct EXIF creation date info. Even worse, many (or most) of these old images don't even have an EXIF date field!
WHAT I'VE LEARNED: Using exiv2 filename or evix2 -pt filename immediately shows whether there is or is not date info for the photo. If there isn't, exiv2 -pt filename shows nothing. If there is an EXIF date field, it will be shown.
For all these images with no date field, if I import them into Lightroom, there of course is no date info that shows up in the Metadata panel (under Default or EXIF), nor can you change the date (because the field isn't even there).
If exiv2 -pt filename DOES show the Exif.Image.DateTime field, then in Lightroom, you will see the Capture Time and Capture Date fields, and you will see an icon to the right of those dates that allows you to change that date.
If exiv2 -pt filename DOES NOT show this Exif.Image.DateTime field, you can ADD this field by using the command line:
    exiv2 -M"set Exif.Image.DateTime Ascii 1965:01:25 15:45:00" filename (or whatever your date/time is).
Now if you import this image into LR, you will find the Capture Time and Capture Date fields under the Metadata > Default panel...AND you can edit them if needed. That is, the above exiv2 -M command added the EXIF date field that LR needs in order to search by date.
WHAT'S MY POINT, AND WHAT'S MY QUESTION? I have no problem using exiv2 to add/change an EXIF creation DateTime field one folder at a time prior to importing them into LR. This will enable me to search on those date fields**.
My question is this: Is there an easier method?
Surely there must be tens (hundreds?) of thousands of "older" photographers like myself who have troves of old photos that have incorrect EXIF creation date fields, or missing the date field entirely (in which case, as I stated above, cannot be added/edited using LR, PS, FileMultiTool, Graphic Converter, etc.).
I realize that I could look at images based on the folder names or file names, or I could enter dates into tags, but such methods of finding images are not nearly as convenient as using Metadata. Therefore, if I know that an image was taken in June 1962, then I'd like the EXIF metadata to have this info so that I can search on it. To have no EXIF date field or to have a date field that is incorrect is useless.
I'D LOVE YOUR COMMENTS! If there is an easier or better way, I'd love for you to help! There are so many experienced photographers on this forum, and more than likely many of them have old photos with incorrect or missing EXIF date fields that they've brought into LR.
THANKS! I'll really appreciate any and all help you can offer.
    David
** there are other EXIF date fields that can be changed using exiv2: Exif.Photo.DateTimeOriginal, Exif.Photo.DateTimeDigitized, etc. But the principal date that LR uses to search for files is the one described above.
P.S. I've also tried jhead -ds1965:01:25 filename (or whatever your date is) to change the date. This works ONLY IF there is already an EXIF date field present. If not, jhead will report an error and not create one. exiv2 -M will create the field.

    John,
Thanks very much for your help! I had tried the plugin, exiv2, exiftool, and LR's Metadata menu option only on a single photo.
You are 100% correct about LR's menu option assigning different times! Thank you for pointing this out.
When I set the date and time for about 10 photos, LR's menu option assigned (seemingly random!) times to all of them. Why would LR do this? I can perhaps see offsetting each photo by 1 second (00, 01, 02,...), but simply assigning random times makes no sense at all. At least in the tests I just did, LR didn't shift the time by the same amount, but assigned totally (random?) times to every photo.
Another problem that I found with the LR menu item is that it failed to change the date/time at all for several of the images I selected! The Capture Time To Exif plugin, exiv2, and exiftool had no problem at all with the same photos.
I also looked at the ExifMeta by Rob Cole that you mentioned. It looks very powerful (and is free), but much more complex than what I need at this point.
Therefore, I purchased the Capture Time To Exif plugin, and it works great on multiple photos.
I now have good methods to change the date for multiple images:
    1. Prior to import: exiv2 or exiftool
    2. After import: John's Capture Time To Exif plugin
Thank you again for your help!
This brings me one step closer to importing my photos in a logical method.

  • PSE 8 editor changing exif creation date

When I bought a new Dell duo-core computer with Windows 7 I upgraded from PSE 6 to 8.  Since then, the editor in 8 sometimes replaces the exif creation date with the date and time it was modified.  It isn't keeping the first and adding the second as date modified, just replacing it when I save a photo from the editor.  It isn't doing that every time, so I can't figure out what would cause this.  In two days in March, my exif creation date in 500-600 photos, many of which I didn't edit at all, were changed to either March 20 or March 21, 2010.  Any idea how I can prevent this from happening?  Hint:  it appears as though all the photos affected were taken with an Olympus point and shoot or were scanned to PSE 6's Organizer.  I can't find any photos from my DSLR that have been affected.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it didn't help.  I lost another photo today and had to retrieve it
for the Organizer from my Windows files.  Instead of placing it next to the original photo (or in the same area), it placed it in a file called Adobe/Photoshop.com.  I made sure again that the line you referred to isn't checked.  In addition, when the photo doesn't get lost, the Exif date for the photo does get lost and the photo is dated today.  These two problems seem to be connected, although I can never predict which one will occur.  Anybody have more ideas?  Could it be a Windows 7 issue rather than a Photoshop issue?

  • PSE 10 editor changing date taken in EXIF data

Hello. I have just joined the forum after recently buying PSE 10 Editor for Mac. I had no trouble at first but now after I have saved an edit I  find that the date taken has been changed to the same as the date modified & imported.
I can change it back manually through iPhotos menu but this is a bit of a nuisance when a lot of photos are involved, I don't know why it has happened but how do I reset it to give the correct date ?

  • Can exif data be changed in photoshop

I am engaged in a nasty lawsuit and now I have a question. So I hope you can help me further.I have a question about adobe Photoshop CS2.
I have added in the annex 2 pictures of properties of a photo. The photo is on 1-10-2010. All the exif data from the camera stand in it too (see CANON EOS 350 d still camera data). Now my question, if you the picture edited in Adobe Photoshop CS2 can then also the date of recording of the photo? I.e. this date change? Continue then the exif data exist, or disappear than the camera data if one adjusts this date in Adobe Photoshop and you only see the "updated" date taken. I have always understood, that if one changes, the date of recording the exif camera data disappear from the picture. In this case, the exposure time, the camaramodel etc.. I understand that you have a create date (exif) original (recorded)
to illustrate the RAW data of the photo:
    <exif:DateTimeOriginal>2010-10-01T11:39:18</exif:DateTimeOriginal>
    <exif:DateTimeDigitized>2010-10-01T11:39:18</exif:DateTimeDigitized>
and a create date and modify date (date of operation) in photoshop.
To illustrate the RAW data from the same photo:
    <xmp:ModifyDate>2010-11-30T20:09:55+01:00</xmp:ModifyDate>
    <xmp:CreateDate>2010-10-02T20:29:54+02:00</xmp:CreateDate>
    <xmp:MetadataDate>2010-11-30T20:09:55+01:00</xmp:MetadataDate>
    <xmp:CreatorTool>Adobe Photoshop CS2 Windows</xmp:CreatorTool>
In this case are the exif data for the original date of recording of the camera and are the xmp data for the dates of editing in Photoshop?
Can anyone confirm this, or is it different story. In advance, thank you very much for the effort, I would very much benefit from

Thanks, where can I find these 3 dates, when looking at the photo (picture). Because above I have an </exif:DateTimeOriginal>2010-10-01T11:39:18 and then I have a
    <xmp:ModifyDate>2010-11-30T20:09:55+01:00</xmp:ModifyDate>
    <xmp:CreateDate>2010-10-02T20:29:54+02:00</xmp:CreateDate>
Are these the 3 dates you meant?

  • Exif date change within iphoto11 -which is the most user friendly editor ?

Hi I am newbie - prior to addressing this question -I have read numerous posts to try and find a solution to this problem but am still unsure as how to resolve it - I transferred a number of photo''s from PC to Mac when I purchased the Mac earlier this year - the iphoto events do not reflect the folders in chronological date that I had in picasa -  - it seems that iphoto categorize events (even if unnamed) according to exifdata -
The problem I am faced with is that by way of example - although a folder has been titled December 23 2006( and is reflected as an event) - the date reflected in iphoto is January 1 1980 - December 31 2005 (according to erroneous data transfer / incorrect date on the camera (possibly the default date)---- these dates can be seen in grey to the bottom left of the named event which is December 23 2006(when you run your mouse beneath the event title (or unnamed event)
I tried to change the date , by adjusting the date within iphoto and doing batch change - the problem is that while I have appeared to change the date - the grey dates (1980-1985) remain - I have tried to research an exif editor that would do this - I found better finder attributes 5 - which I have not yet purchased - According to the website of better finder attributes 5 -it seems that if  photo's are already in iphoto with the incorrect exif date date - then you need to export the photo's you are attempting to correct -then run better finder attributes 5 -change the exif information and then import them back into iphoto with the correct date
    my questions
    1. If  I use  better finder attributes 5 - will the grey date (1980-1985) go away once I import the batch of photos with the correct amended date ?
    2. Is better finder attributes 5 the simpliest and easiest exif editor to use in conjuntion with iphoto ?
3  Is there any exifdate editor that works within iphoto - once you have photo's in the event section of iphoto with the wrong date ?
Any advice would be most appreciated
    Thanks

    1. If  I use  better finder attributes 5 - will the grey date (1980-1985) go away once I import the batch of photos with the correct amended date ?
Possibly, but another thing to try:
Select all the photos in an Event. Flag Them. Then go 'Create Event from Flagged Photos'
    2. Is better finder attributes 5 the simpliest and easiest exif editor to use in conjuntion with iphoto ?
No, iPhoto is. And if it involves exporting from iPhoto, running the program and then re-importing that's hardly "in conjunction with iPhoto"
3  Is there any exifdate editor that works within iphoto - once you have photo's in the event section of iphoto with the wrong date ?
Apart from iPhoto no. The problem here is simply that the database is not rechecking the dates on the photos as you update them, and then updating the Event dates. Creating a new Event from the same photos should force that correction.
