Delete Orphaned OCS Servers from BackCompatSite

We had OCS 2007 R2 in merged topology with LYNC 2010 pool. Couple of days back decommissioned OCS pool, however two OCS mediation servers were removed from network without proporly removed from OCS pool and showing in LYNC BackCompatSite. ( AS we need to
keep CWA servers, re-added BackCompatSite).
How can i remove the orphaned OCS mediation servers from AD and LYNC BackCompatSite?
Thanks in advance for your help...

Try to delete the computer account container for mediation server from AD.

  • How delete 'Other SMTP Servers' from email account?

    In trying to figure out how to SEND email using my iPhone 3G I changed some port settings, according to Comcast. In the end doing this added a bunch of 'Other SMTP Servers.' I've deleted one of my email accounts and re-set it up, to no avail. The INCOMING port number keeps setting up its own number and I cannot change it to 110, as it should be, so I cannot receive email on theis account. Everytime I change it to 110 it automatically changes itself back to other numbers (587, 99?) when I exit and try to retrieve email. I've synced my iPhone with my pc...didn't work.
    So, I need to know how to change my INCOMING port setting to 110 and keep it that way, delete multiple 'Other SMTP Servers' listed within any of my email accounts, and also how do I SEND email while outside the home (I can send email fine when I'm home using my wireless router)?

    Same problem. Every time I add a new account its smtp server details are added to the list of available servers, even if exactly the same details already exist in the list. I now have three identical smtp servers listed.
    Discovered this when having smtp connection refused problems after adding three different email domain addresses that I use with the same service provider - the first one is ok, the other two always fail smtp connection. The smtp details for all accounts are exactly the same, which works perfectly well when using Mail on my MacPro machine, but not it appears on my iPhone.
    I can delete the troublesome accounts on my iPhone (have not yet figured out why all three work fine together on my MacPro machine but not on the iPhone) but, there does not seem to be a way of deleting duplicated or unwanted smtp information from the iPhone. Regarding ports, I use port 25 for sending on all 3 accounts, but I did notice that the iPhone setup automatically chose 587, which although legit does not appear to work.
    Any suggestions?

  • Deleting old SMTP servers from the iphone

    Dear Friends,
    I have 3GS. While I was creating my e-mail accounts on the phone I made mistakes
    and after creating these accounts, I deleted. Now I have a new account which works well. But on the "other SMTP servers" there are old servers still exist with the same account name. How should I delete them? Thanks in advanced.

    Maybe everyone has this figured out by now, but seems to be a recurring question.
    In Settings/Mail/(account)/Account Info/Outgoing Mail Server, select the one you don't want and click the big red "Delete Server" button at the bottom of the screen. Seemples:-)

  • Cant delete orphaned content type, it says : "The content type is part of an application feature."

    I created site from existing site template that previous vendor working with company created. I could figure that they saved site as template and when you do that sharepoint creates sandboxed solution. When I create site based on that template, it adds orphaned
    content type and when I try to delete it, it gives error : "The content type is part of an application feature.".
    I looked on internet but solutions dont seem to fit in my scenario.
    Following are possible solutions I read on net.
    1) Deactivate feature that has content type and all dependencies for content type and then delete content type --- In my case there is no feature in feature galary that you can deactivate as it is part of site template.
    2)Get the WSP and edit in visual studio, I am working on client machine and I do not have access to sharepoint server. When I try to create new visual studio project with "Import sharepoint solution package", it says Sharepoint server is not installed
    on this computer. I tried to get Microsoft.Sharepoint dll from Microsoft virtual lab but I can only work on web client and windows client doesnt work. Web client is not letting me copy files into my local desktop.
    Any suggestions ? I just need to take that content type out and generate WSP and upload it back

    Below is how I recreated problem , my findings and solution to this problem (Everything is done through Sharepoint UI)
    Problem :
    Create site and create custom content type using sharepoint UI.
    Save site as template.
    Use above template to create new site.
    New site contains orphaned content type, when you try to delete that unnecessary content type sharepoint gives error: The content type is part of an application feature. Sharepoint will not let you delete this content type.
    Delete original site from which template was created.
    Findings:
    When you save site as template, sharepoint creates and activates Sandboxed solution in solution gallery of Root Site.
    Sandbox solution has same name that you gave when saving site as template.
    Activation of Sandboxed solution adds feature having name of original site from which template was created, and this is Site Collection Feature. I could not find any site feature for it and also I could not find any site feature for custom content type
    as well. I think when you create content type through Sharepoint UI, it doesnt create site feature for that.
    Deactivating site collection feature for that site template doesn't let you delete that orphaned content type from newly created site.
    Solution:
    If you deactivate Sandboxed solution from Solutions gallery, it will remove corresponding site collection feature as well as that orphaned content type from site. Reactivating that solution doesn't add orphaned content type back to newly created site.
    Above process only deletes orphaned content type from newly created existing site but you will have same problem when you create more new sites from that site template.
    I would say once your problem is fixed with deleting content type, solution is to replace site template. In this way newly created sites wont have same problem again.

  • Remove Old Name Servers from reverse lookup zones in DNS- PowerShell

    Hello Scripting Guys,
    I'm a long-time fan. Please let me know if I have included enough information for you to provide some guidance. Thank
    you!
    Here is what I am attempting to do:
    import a .csv file which contains
    zoneName,hostname,RecordType
    and then delete the name server entries from the reverse lookup zones.
    Why:
    There are hundreds of zones and 80+ name servers in each for a total of about 25,000 records to be removed. I
    have the list of zones and the list of name servers which I want to remove from the zones.
    Environment:
    I am running PowerShell as a Domain Admin with access to DNS. Zones allow secure updates only (if that matters here).
    I am running it from a Server 2012 R2 server with the DNS admin tools installed against Server 2008 R2 DNS servers. Current AD functional level Windows Server 2003. All DC are DNS server and GC's.
    What I have tried:
    The following
    works to return all the Name Server records in a zone:
    .csv file format
    zoneName,hostname,RecordType
    1.112.170.in-addr.arpa,nameserver1.contoso.com.,Ns
    1.112.170.in-addr.arpa,nameserver2.contoso.com.,Ns
    1.112.170.in-addr.arpa,nameserver3.contoso.com.,Ns
    2.112.170.in-addr.arpa,nameserver1.contoso.com.,Ns
    2.112.170.in-addr.arpa,nameserver2.contoso.com.,Ns
    2.112.170.in-addr.arpa,nameserver3.contoso.com.,Ns
    Script\Command:
    Import-Module DnsServer
    $PDCE = Get-ADDomainController -Discover -Service PrimaryDC
    import-csv c:\temp\OldNSrecords-test.csv | foreach {
    Get-DnsServerResourceRecord -ZoneName $_.zoneName -RRType "Ns" -computerName $PDCE
    -Node
    OutPut to screen:
    HostName RecordType Timestamp TimeToLive RecordData
    @ NS 0 1:00:00 Nameserver1.contoso.com
    @ NS 0 1:00:00 Nameserver2.contoso.com
    However, replacing the business line (in green above after foreach) with the remove command (in red below)
    does not work to delete the specific record listed in the .csv, even though it follows the
    pattern from MS TechNet:
    Remove-DnsServerResourceRecord -ZoneName $_.zoneName -RRType "Ns" -name $_.hostname -computerName
    $PDCE
    Error:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> C:\Temp\OldNSCleanup.ps1
    Remove-DnsServerResourceRecord : Failed to get nameserver1.contoso.com. record in
    1.112.170.in-addr.arpa zone on PDCE server.

    When I remove the use of the .csv and put the names of the zone and server in the command, I get the same results.
    Fail.
    It's as if the record does not exist, but I can browse to it in the GUI. I found
    this about Missing Glue records, but it does not seem to apply to reverse lookup NS records. I'm thinking that I need to first load each zone into an assembly and then do the removal,
    but I'm not sure how to do that in PowerShell. I tried piping the get command for the zone to the remove command, but that did not work or I did not have the correct syntax.
    I have attempted to use DNSCMD to do the same and that command appears to work, but then fails to actually remove
    the record.
    Here is an example of that command:
    import-csv C:\Temp\OldNSrecords-test.csv | foreach {dnscmd.exe "DNSServer.contoso.com" /Recorddelete $_.ZoneName
    $_.hostname $_.recordType /f}
    Output:
    Deleted Ns record(s) at 1.112.170.in-addr.arpa
    Command completed successfully. [But not really, the NS record is still there]
    I have researched several sites including the suggest one here, but this does not fit my requirement.

    Here is a backing store for the root servers in the DNS format:
    ; formerly NS.INTERNIC.NET

    A.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. 3600000 A 198.41.0.4

    . 3600000 NS D.ROOT-SERVERS.NET.
    D.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. 3600000 A 128.8.10.90

    ; formerly NS.NIC.DDN.MIL
    . 3600000 NS G.ROOT-SERVERS.NET.
    G.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. 3600000 A 192.112.36.4
    ; formerly AOS.ARL.ARMY.MIL
    . 3600000 NS H.ROOT-SERVERS.NE
    Notice that each is a pair.
    One is the NS and the secon is the A record.
    .                        3600000      NS    G.ROOT-SERVERS.NET.
    G.ROOT-SERVERS.NET.      3600000      A     192.112.36.4
    In this case the dot represents the self reference to the A record.  These are the records that bootstrap all of the Internet.  Remove them and you ae lost.
    The CSV uses the @ to anchor the local domain.  Perhaps the DNS CmdLets prefer the dot.  The @ is what appears on the screen when we use the GUI. Note the dot at the end of the FQDN.  It is required.  Even browser use
    it but they add it if you forget.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    How can I delete all my mail ( 3.5 ) on my computer ( original G4 ) but leave it all on the .Mac servers?

    backup the device and restore it as new.
    If you already have or don't need a backup:
    Erase your device
    Erasing all content and settings will delete all the data from your device, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All device settings are restored to their factory condition.
    To remove all settings and information from your device, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. For more information about this feature, see iOS: Understanding 'Erase All Content and Settings'.
    If you are unable to erase your device, restore the device using iTunes.
    See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  for the exact steps.

    Is there any way to delete the list of essbase servers from checkbox in the essbase login dialog ?I want that the checbox is empty, because there is too many serves now ... how can i do it ?

    Yes there is. Depending on your OS, its either in the registry or the essbase.ini file. More likely, the regedit. Unfortunately I can't check the key for you as I'm working on a pc with that part locked down and I can't remember it exactly.Do a search for "server", all the servers are listed there, near the CSL Global Options entry.Sorry couldn't give you the exact key.

  • Is the any way to totally delete a TV show from the iCloud?

    Is the any way to totally delete a TV show from the iCloud?

    No. TV Shows are kept in the cloud which is a different thing all together from iCloud.   iCloud is your own personal strage space for backups and other App data.  "the cloud" in the case of Tv shows and movies is in Apple's own media servers.  So you can't simply delete a show from there.
    This however means that the show in the cloud is not taking up space in your iCloud storage. As Axeman points out: you can Hide it, but you'll need a computer to do so.

  • This past month I have been having problems connecting to my home wireless connection. Previously I had no problems whatsoever. I have tried unplugging the wireless router, turning off the wirless airport, deleting the network name from my list of server

    This past month I have been having problems connecting to my home wireless connection. I have a MacBook Pro OSX Version 10.6.8. Previously I had no problems whatsoever. I have tried unplugging the wireless router, turning off the wirless airport, deleting the network name from my list of servers and trying to reconnect this way. These methods have worked temporarily, but the same problem keeps coming back. Most of the time my personal wireless connection does not even come up among the list of available networks. My fellow flatmates have PCs and both of them are able to connect to the network without problem.
    The router is a d-link model DIR-615. I am not tech savy, so if any other information need to be provided in order to better understand my situation, please let me know.
    Please help me!

    If I open the list of networks in a window it says "connection timeout," but if I just select it from the drop down it tries for awhile and then stops with no prompt. When I try to run network diagnostics it says "sorry, we can't connect to the internet" (or some solution-free variation of that)

  • Deleting orphaned FIM MA CS objects

    Has anyone ever found that they needed to do this, but couldn't afford to delete the entire FIM MA CS to achieve this outcome?
    In my case I have a sync design which imports entitlement objects from two separate HR sources into FIM, but had the object deletion and FIM MA deprovisioning rules set incorrectly resulting in orphaned objects in the FIM MA when the source (projecting) MA
    object was deleted.  I have since corrected the rules, but had a few hundred bogus entitlement objects to delete out of FIM ... and wasn't prepared to work through the FIM Metaverse and manually disconnect each one ... and with no guarantee that I had
    solved my design problem yet, there was a chance they would come back again anyhow.
    So I needed to come up with a clever way of deleting these, and resorted to an old fashioned provisioning MVExtension to achieve this.  Here is the code snippet for my Provision method:
            void IMVSynchronization.Provision (MVEntry mventry)
                // disconnect any orphaned entitlements (this should be unnecessary
    if we can work out what is generating them)
                if (mventry.ObjectType.Equals(Properties.Settings.Default.EntitlementMVObjectName)
                    && mventry.ConnectedMAs.Count.Equals(1))
                    ConnectedMA fimMA = mventry.ConnectedMAs[Properties.Settings.Default.FIMMAName];
                    if (fimMA.Connectors.Count.Equals(1))
                        mventry.ConnectedMAs.DeprovisionAll();
    What I want to know is how others have approached this problem themselves.  I don't know if I really want to leave my MVExtension wired up forever, and am thinking there's probably a better way.  I can already hear Carol asking "why wouldn't you just
    use a PowerShell script?", and I can see how I might be able to copy the table results of an MV query from the Identity Manager into the clipboard, and paste it into a CSV, then process the CSV ... but there may not always be an easy way of identifying these
    objects with such a query (although there probably is!).
    Any other ideas people?
    Thanks.
    Bob Bradley (FIMBob @ http://thefimteam.com/) ... now using Event Broker 3.0 @ http://www.fimeventbroker.com/ for just-in-time delivery of FIM 2010 policy via the sync engine

    I accidently provisioned a few hundred objects into the FIM connector space, however they were never actually provisioned to the FIM portal due to attribute violation.  Long story short, these objects had nothing to match on aside from their guid.  So
    what I did was:
    Use PowerShell to find the CS DN of each orphaned object (link)
    Correlate these DNs to MV IDs
    Export the MV IDs to a csv file
    Create a tab-delimited MA, with a simple join rule - to join on this MV ID
    Configure deletion rule to delete MV object when <new MA> object was deleted
    Run a full import and sync (this joins to all the orphaned objects)
    Delete the <new MA> CS and then the MA itself.  This removes the orphaned objects per the deletion rule in #5.
    sample code:
    #Import the FimSyncPowerShellModule Module
    ipmo FimSyncPowerShellModule
    $maNAME = 'Contoso FIMMA'
    #Get the last export run
    $LastExportRun = (Get-MIIS_RunHistory -MaName $maNAME -RunProfile 'Export')[0]
    #Get error objects from last export run (adjust your filter as needed...)
    $errorObjects = $LastExportRun | Get-RunHistoryDetailErrors | ? {($_.dn -ne $null) -and ($_.ErrorType -eq 'failed-creation-via-web-services')}
    #Build the custom Output Object
    $outputFile = @()
    $errorObjects | % {
    $TmpCSObject = Get-MIIS_CSObject -ManagementAgent $maNAME -DN $_.DN
    [xml]$UserXML = $TmpCSObject.UnappliedExportHologram
    $MyObject = New-Object PSObject -Property @{
    MVObjectID = (Select-Xml -Xml $UserXML -XPath "/entry/attr" | select -expand node | ? {$_.name -eq 'MVObjectID'}).value
    $outputFile += $MyObject
    #Output to file
    $outputFile | Export-Csv -NoTypeInformation $env:USERPROFILE\desktop\Deletions.csv

    I have recently deleted several old backups from a portable usb drive (formated NTFS-3g(MacFUSE). The macmini can´t see it anymore but my imac does? The usb ports of the mac mini can still see my other drives formated with FAT32.

    Thanks, it is working now, after I have installed NTFS3G.
    I did not format the drive. I was using it as purchased to do backups for a while. After the corporate backup system was working correctly again I was using the disk at home for my homevideos. Since the corporate backup was running correctly for ten days in a row, I have decided to delete those backupfiles on the usb drive. Each backup was a folder consisting of almost 30GB data, mirroring the servers harddrive which is running on windows xp. After I have deleted those folders, only the video files remaind and I could not open the drive on the macmini anymore.

  • What happens if I click "delete backup" in order to delete the iCloud backups from my sisters phone off my device. Will it delete everything on her phone?

    So a while ago when I got my phone I started a new Apple ID account/ iCloud.. Then when my sister got a new iphone I gave her my id to use too. In settings-general-usage it says that my storage is almost full. I then click on manage storage and it shows my phone and my sisters phone and how many gb or whatever. Also it says "last backup failed" and other stuff that's Irrelevant. Now when I click on my sisters phone I have an option to "delete backup" MY QUESTION is if I click the delete backup button will it just delete the iCloud backup off my phone OR will it totally delete everything involving the backup off my sisters phone forever??? Please help! Thank you so much!!!!!

    Deleting a backup deletes the backup only from the iCloud storage, not anything on the iPhone.
    The iPhone's iCloud backup will be updated at some point - automatically when the iPhone is connected to an available wi-fi network while connected to a power source unless the iCloud backup is turned off on the iPhone.

  • How do i delete my photo library from my iphone 4?

    My computer downloaded my entire photo library to my iPhone 4s & I'm almost out of storage space.  As far as I can tell, there is no way to delete the photo library from the phone itself; I have tried.
    I have gone into iTunes library to delete it from there, but I don't have a "photo" option.  I clicked on all of the other choices on the tab in the upper left-hand corner: Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books, Apps, & Tones.  None of these options have anything related to photos or photo libraries.
    I have cleared my "My Pictures" folder on my PC and re-synched the phone; that didn't work either.  I've gone through everything under the "Settings" tab on the phone itself, but to no avail.
    I'm almost to the point where I just want to take my phone to the wireless provider and have them wipe everything out and reset the phone back to its original settings, but I'm thinking there's GOT to be an easier way to solve this problem.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks in advance...

    As far as I can tell, there is no way to delete the photo library from the phone itself; I have tried.
    Yes there is and if you are unable to via the iTunes sync process, there is a problem.
    I have gone into iTunes library to delete it from there, but I don't have a "photo" option.
    Photos transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync/transfer process are not stored in your iTunes library. iTunes serves as the transfer conduit only between the location on your computer's hard drive where the selected photos are stored and your iPhone.
    This is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. If all photos that were transferred from your computer to your iPhone are not removed from the iPhone after deselecting Sync Photos under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync, try creating a new folder on your computer's hard drive that will remain empty. Select this empty folder under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes instead of your My Pictures folder followed by a sync.
    I'm almost to the point where I just want to take my phone to the wireless provider and have them wipe everything out and reset the phone back to its original settings,
    You don't need to take the iPhone anywhere to do this ends up being needed. You can erase all data and settings direct on the iPhone at Settings > General > Reset which will erase everything but the iOS version installed and the included apps, or you can restore the iPhone with iTunes on your computer as a new iPhone or not from the backup.
