Delete Page in a Fillable Form

I have a 10 page pdf document that I converted to a fillable form in Designer. I saved that form under a different name and want to cut 8 pages, leaving only 2 pages. When I open the document in Acrobat Professional, I cannot choose Document - Delete Page, it is grayed out. When I open the document in Designer, I can only delete fields and text, but the 10 pages remain.
How can I remove the extra 8 pages and have only the 2 pages I want left?

It is not possible to customize the appearance of the radio button at this time. Your options only allow you to select the placement of the label.

  • Omitting pages from Enabled Fillable Form Packets

I am creating fillable form packets using Adobe Acrobat 9.0 pro (with multiple fillable forms) for use by users using Adobe Reader.  These are enabled.  The problem arises when the end user saves the document, but does not need all of the pages.  Can those not needed be deleted at that point?

  • Best way to set up user to hide pages in a fillable form once complete.

I have created an 11 page fillable PDF form from a word document that will be used for Mentors. The last page (11) is a summary page with fields automatically populated from various preceeding pages. Once the form has been filled out, I'd like the user to select a checkbox (or something) so that they can allow the reviewer (in my case the Employer) to only see the Summary page as pages 1-10 will contain confidential information for the users use only. What is the best way to do this? Once filled out, the Mentors will upload('update') the document with a sharepoint (joomla) Document management system where Employers have a separate login group and user access levels.
Any help woudl be greatly appreciated. I understand that forms created from word have limited functionality so I can't 'hide' certain pages on a checkbox entry - but if there is a way around this (ie setting Chapters?) I would appreciate the help!

If the data must remain truly confidential, meaning that the end user should not have any way of getting at it when they are provided the file, then you really should be extracting the summary page once it's populated or creating it separately. Even if you made the pages templates so that you can hide them (with Acrobat) and then applied security restrictions, the confidential information would still remain in the file and could be seen relatively easily by a knowledgeable and/or determined person.

I need to print this form now that it is filled out?  What can I do?

Hello PW, I am having this problem and all suggestions haven't worked yet. Where is the Preferences|Documents you are referring to? I am on a PC and using Windows.
EDIT: I found it and did, but still not working.

  • Fillable form auto-indents itself off the page

If I move a graphic in a fillable form, the moment I release the mouse button, the entire form shifts about 1 inch to the right. Now the right side of my form is cut off when printing. I am afraid to touch anything because Adobe Designer seems to pick and choose which graphics can and cannot be moved.

I had the same problem, and realised that I had crop/registration marks outside the top left of the page as the PDF came from InDesign, and the designer produced the PDF for the printing press. whenever I moved any element on the page, the whole form moved right and down about 1 inch as well.
I removed the crop/registration marks from the original PDF, then imported it again and had no trouble after that.

  • Fillable form with multiple pages

I have a fillable form with multiple pages. However, when I save it and open it, it tabs to the end of the first page and will go back up to the top of the first page again. It won't tab to the second page. Instead, the user will have to click there cursor into the first field of the second page, tab through that, and repeat this process from page to page. If the person doesn't know there are multiple pages, they may believe they have finished the form once they get to the bottom of the first page, hit tab, and it takes them back up to the first field on the first page again. How can I make it go from the last field on the first page, tab, and first field on the second page?

Thanks for the reply. Since my post to this topic I discovered some things about tabbing. With out adding another master page but just keeping the one and making sure that it's occurance is set to a minimum of one and including master page in the numbering it will work as long as the order of fields in the hierarchy tab matches the order in the position of the fields.
I have a subForm that has a row of fields starting with a button then several text fields. I couldn't tab to the next page because the button was at the bottom of the hierarchy and it wasn't until I moved it to the top that I could finally tab to the next field on the next page. I also discovered that with a one page dynamic interactive form that has some expand able text fields in it and when the field expands so that any fields are pushed to a new second page tabbing seems to not work. In other words when I tab out of that field that is suppose to expand and a new page is added to the form the tabbing quits and in order for it to resume I have to click in a field and from then on it work even if it gets to where a third page and so forth is added. It is just when a one page (in my case) form turns into multiple pages for the first time.
    Hope that makes sense.

  • Creating a multi-page fillable form using one file

I have a single page fillable form that I need to make multipage using the original form.  In other words, I want the same form on many different pages.  When I combine the files, I get the message that form fields with the same name will be merged into one field.  The result is that all of the fields on the different pages will have the same information in the field.
Is there a way to create a multi-page document without having to rename all of the form fields?

Unfortunately, the only way I can thin
    k of is changing to Field1, Field2, Field3
etc. (example for the first field) for each successive page.
Extra line breaks kindly provided by the non updated software of this site.

  • How do I create a "Delete Page" button?

I am making a pdf that auto populates several other pages with data that is entered on the first page. I want to create a button that will delete a specified page if it is not needed. I want the button on page 1. Basically:
When this button on page one is clicked, I want it to delete (or hide) page 3.
(I'm a total newbie, so keep that in mind.)

This was really helpful to me today because I also wanted to be able to delete a page and kept trying to remove an instance of the page I was trying to delete. So thank you for asking this question and getting me the answer altho I think it didn't help you too much.
I remeber when I was new and someone would answer my question and I had no idea what they were talking about. So I'm going to try and help.
You can put your button to delete the page on any page. I put mine on each page of an inventory template I was designing because each page had a different kind of table on it that was only used for certain items. If they weren't inventorying those items, then that page with the table wasn't needed on the inventory report. So what I did after reading this answer was to put a generic button on the page I wanted to delete. Again the button can go anywhere in the document.
Then I went up to the menu bar at the top of the LC window, and chose "Tools" from the list, then slid down to "Action Builder". In that window, I clicked the little scroll with the "A" on it to create a new action. So now I have a "condition" and a "result". I chose when (object) and clicked on the word object which opened a screen showing my form's hierarchy, where I clicked on the button that I wanted the action applied to (I always name my buttons what I want them to do like "remove pg3" so I don't get that one confused with other buttons in the list", then OK. Now I needed to tell LC what result I wanted. So using the drop down list I slid all the way to the bottom and chose "Show or Hide an Object". Then it said "Set the visibility of (object) to" and gave me another drop down. In your case, you want "(untitled Subform) (page 3)" to disappear, so click on that subform and OK, and then you want that subform (page) to be "hidden" in the drop down. Then OK. At this point, I suggest you save your form and then open it in Preview PDF or Adobe Reader. Click on the button and see if page 3 doesn't disappear from the form. If you have put page numbers in your form, it will subtract one page from the page numbers and that page is truly gone for that pdf.
The next time you open the origninal file again, it will be back along with the button to "hide" it again, but if you now save the form after hiding that page, it won't be there the next time you open that file.
The reason you want to choose to make the object "hidden" is because it will take it out of the page count and truly remove it from the form that you save. If you choose "invisible" there will be a blank page in your pdf and that probably isn't what you want.
You can also use this same process to make pages visible on button click. If I have a form where I am asking if someone is married, and their answer is no, then I don't need that section for their spouse's information to even appear on the form. In that case, I use a checkbox for yes to make that section visible, and a checkbox for no doesn't open that section.
Play around with the actions that you can apply to different objects and you'll discover that the "action builder" can become your best friend if you don't write javascript, like me.
I hope this helps you. It helped me. Thanks.

  • Issue while changing fields in a fillable form PDF (Acrobat 10.1.4 Pro)

    Good Afternoon!
This is my first time posting here, so forgive me if this is in the wrong place.
I am an IT technician trying to support a user who is trying to change a PDF into a fillable form using Acrobat 10.1.4.  She is trying to use the wizard as shown in the image below:
When she uses this function, Acrobat goes through and automatically detects all possible fields and creates them for her.  Below is an image of the result:
What she is trying to do is change some of the field types - specifically, she wants to change the box next to "Adult/non-college request" to a check box.  She right clicks on this field to change it, and when she does, Acrobat simply closes.  No error comes up, and she is not given the option to save the document - when she opens it again, it is an ordinary PDF.  In addition, if she creates the form, and then only tries to save the form (without trying to change the fields), Acrobat again simply closes itself.  However, she is able to manually create fillable fields if she does not use the wizard at all, and the document functions normally.
Any help with this issue would be most appreciated.

    Save early and often.
I would save the result right after the wizard has made its errors.
One needs to delete the form field and then manually add the correct type of field. If you want that check box and the next to be mutually exclusive, one gives them the same name and sets the export value for each check box to a unique value.
I edit forms by opening the "Tools => Forms => Edit fields".
How to create editable PDF form fields
I do not like the wizards and create forms by adding all form fields manually according to my planned form design.

  • How can I add a Save form button ( not save as ) for a custom fillable form ?

How can I add a Save button ( not save as ) for a custom fillable form ?
idea is ti to have a Save button  at the bottom of each page where the person filling
the form  clicks the save button  on each page.( it is a 12 page fillable form )
The only thing I was able to do  was add a button that  opens a Save As
    dialog box only.
My experience  lever is - end user-intermediate.
    Thnaks.

    Thanks for the response.
I wonder why  it wont allow.
If I can  save ( as opposed to save as)   this form by clicking the  save icon on the  menu bar, I am not sure why it is no possible to do so on page level!
Custom script option is not  even remotely possible!

  • Change Page Size of a Form

I created a form in Adobe Acrobat Pro from a spreadsheet that I had printed to PDF. However, the PDF was in a landspace orientation rather than a portrait orientation. Does anyone know how I can change the page size and orientation of the form. I tried opening it importing it into LifeCycle Designer, but it messes up my java script calculations. If I print it to another PDF it no longer remains a fillable form.

You really need to go back to your spreadsheet program and properly orient it there. Consider a PDF only a piece of paper that you created. You might be able to create the new PDF and then use replaces pages in the old PDF to keep the form fields. This last step is the typical process to keep the form fields. You will probably still have to move the fields. I am just not sure if the orientation and such will be kept with the replace pages, but that is where I would start. You could also copy the fields from one PDF to the other.

  • Making a PDF with LiveCycle then being able to edit pages, insert pages, delete pages, attach files to document, be readable in Adobe Reader etc.

We have been working for some time with LiveCycle to creat a documents and have experienced a host of problems with the end product.
    1.  Images inserted into the LiveCycle PDF document often come up as "broken links" after editing the document and resaving it.
    2.  Documents will not display in Acrobat reader unless a digital signature is applied to them and the document is re-saved.
    3.  After making the document, we are unable to use Adobe Pro to insert pages, delete pages, or insert files into the document as attachments.
The end state was to use the simplicity of LiveCycle to create a document and do most of the hard work, and then save it as a PDF document that could be easily edited with Adobe Pro.  It has proven difficult, to say the least, to figure out how to make this work.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    1- Thank you
2- It only seems rational that if I make a form with LiveCycle that I should be able to view it with Adobe Reader or Adobe Pro.
Making a form with LiveCycle to be distrubuted to personnel internally that have Adobe Reader and Adobe Pro and cannot open it without it having a digital signature field in it that has just recently been signed just doesn't make sense.  Nor does it seem to make sense to have to purchase 200 additional licenses just for LiveCycle so that people can open a PDF that was made with LiveCycle.  If I make it in LiveCycle and only people with LiveCycle can open it, what is the purpose of making it to begin with?
3- This also totally sucks.  In a standard Adobe Doc I can at least attach documents to it?
So, what, exactly then, is the purpose of LiveCycle if the only benefit it seems to provide is ease of creation, but the end product has way less functionality?
And how do I go about contacting an Adobe rep on the phone in regards to this without getting "there is no support for this product, go to Adobe.com"
We have millions of dollars of Adobe software and can't get support other than hunting and pecking in these forums?  Really?

  • Is there a way to make fillable forms iPad aware?

I'm creating fillable forms, in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, for medical professionals who are having their patients fill them out on iPads using the PDF Expert app. Is there a way to make the forms iPad aware?
For example, when you enter an event in your iPad or iPhone calander there's that wheel where you can choose the date. I want that wheel to show up when patients are filling out a date on their forms.
I know that you can alter the PDF form to extend to Reader so is there a way to do something similar with PDF Expert? Or is that not a possiblity yet?

There are a number of apps for the iPad/iPhone/eReaders/tablets that can process Acrobat forms but not LiveCycle Desiger forms. Adobe has Adobe Reader X for mobile.
There are links for develpers on that page.
Have you tried contacting the PDF Expert developers?

  • Pages 09 Are enterable forms possible? So that I can export to PDF and others can fill in that form and return to me?

I want to create a membership form (PDF format) and put it on my website for potential members to download. Ideally they can enter their details in the PDF and return it to me via e-mail. How would I do this please?

No, this capability does not exist in Pages.
LibreOffice has a forms designer so that you can create in-line, fillable forms. You can then one-button export to PDF. The LibreOffice Writer Guide has an entire chapter assigned to Forms.
