Delete pages from converted PDF
Hi all
I am newbie to this forum. I have close to 70 PDF which are nothing bur exported reports from Business Objects(BI Tool). The issue is that these PDF's have few blank pages in them. To sit and go thru a 2000Page PDF is tiring and time consuming. I would like to know if there is any way i can write a script or something to automatically detect the blank pages and delete them.
NOTE: My blank pages would still have the Header and Footer in them.
I am using Adobe Acroba 7.0 Professional.
Any help is appreciated.
NOTE: My blank pages would still have the Header and Footer in them.
Then they are not really blank. I'm afraid there is really nothing worthwhile to be done. Trying to program a solution to the problem is worse than the problem. Why should you care if there are blank sheets. Hopefully, your workflow doesn't require frequent printing of the 2000 pages.

I am trying to delete pages from a PDF file. I opened the bookmarks in the PDF file, selected the pages to delete and choose Edit > Delete. The selected pages are not deleted. Note: I have to open the file using a passport provided by an external party.

How can I delete pages from a pdf file
How can I delete pages from a pdf file
Hi timk,
None of the Acrobat.com online services allow you to edit a PDF file. But, in checking your account, I see that you purchased an Acrobat Standard subscription, and you can certainly use that to edit a PDF file.
Have you downloaded and installed Acrobat Standard? It sounds to me as though you may be opening the PDF file in Adobe Reader, rather than Acrobat. (Reader doesn't allow you to edit PDF files.)
If you haven't already, download and install Acrobat from https://cloud.acrobat.com/acrobat. Then, make sure that you're opening your PDF files in that rather than Reader, when you want to edit them.
Please let us know how it goes!

Alternatively, be sure your page thumbnails panel is open, and click on the icon highlighted in this image, just under the heading.
You will see a dropdown with the options you need. -

I just need to know which version to download because I don't remember which one I had. Currently have vs. 11 which doesn't allow adding/deleting pages.
No versions of Adobe Reader allows this. You more than likely had a version of Adobe Acrobat. Any version of Acrobat has this ability.

How do I add or delete pages from 1 pdf file?
Since I joined (and upgraded) to the Adobe on-line subscription, I can no longer view a pdf file with thumbnails of all the pages and can no longer drag or move the pages around as I had done in the older version. Can you please help? Also, when you convert a pdf file to ppt, the formatting changes and not very useable.
This is the Reader forum, that needs no subscription. If you are talking about Acrobat, the place to ask is here: Acrobat.

In general, I cannot delete pages from my PDFs the first few times. Acrobat displays the error "One or more pages could not be deleted." Generally speaking, if I close down and restart Acrobat a few times, I am able to delete the page(s) in question. Is there a way to get the delete function to work on the first try?
Wonder if is just a matter of waiting for a while. It is like opening a PDF and then closing it. It opens right back up. There is a delay in some of the loading aspects and that might be what you are seeing. OK, a guess, but I have never had the problem.

10.6.8 user receives Acrobat X crash when deleting pages in large PDF
I have a user that consistently has Acrobat X Pro crash on his whenever he is deleting pages from a PDF that has a large amount of pages.
He says the crashing is regular with PDFs that consist of 10+ pages. He shift+clicks to select multiple pages and upon hitting the Delete key, the program will freeze and eventually crash.
He sent me over a crash log of the most recent event, if that is of any help. I've pasted the crashlog header and the crashed thread:

Error message when deleting page from pdf
Each time I try to delete a page from my pdf, I get the error message "One or more pages are in use and cannot be deleted." What does this mean? The pdf is only open in Acrobat.
This error happens to me occasionally and I have never been able to determine why. Sometimes saving and reopening the file does help, but it doesn't seem to be related to email attachments. Sometimes switching from the Page navigation bar to the Page Toolbar or vice versa helps.
