Delete Personnel

Is there a way to delete all the personnel in the system (PU00), not just one employee at a time?

Hi,
Why don't you download all pernr's from PA0002 (through tr. SE16) into text file and then upload into the pernr field in the selection screen of PU00 transaction? You may also find RPUDELPN report (through SE38) easier to find, check it.
PS I don't think there would be a single transaction in the system that deletes ALL of the personnel with a single mouse-click; it would be so unsecure!!

when I ran a report RPUDELPN for deleting Personnel Numbers The Personnel Number Name got deleted but not the personnel numbers relationship with Position . I can see only Green Color without Name. when Iam trying to delete the relationship it is throwing an error . Error in deletion of personnel numbers . Pls check the table HRP1001, can you find the PERNR in that table with position? table can be checked in SE16 > HRP1001

We can reuse the deleted number
Say once u have deleted all the information relaed to the pernr . Go to PA04 in the current no status give the deleted no and hire an employee in PA40
Note : this will applicable only in cretain cased so i would like to know in which context u want this

Delete Personnel Numbers

My clent has deleted one personnel Number by using PU00, But when he go to Pa20 and enter particular deleted personnel number system gives a message "personnel number not assigned" but a flag will come in front of Personnel data.
Please suggest how to delete this personnel data.
I have a answer where he can rehire the personnel number and delete every thing again.
Can you please give me other options to delete the personnel data.

Hi,
maybe your client didn't select all the infotype when he execute the delete process. Try to execute delete personnel number again then select all infotypes.

Deleting Personnel Number in Production

Hello Experts,
I have come across an issue where some of our business users have deleted personnel numbers in Prod though PU00 after 30 days of employee being hired.
I would like to know the best practice in terms of deleting a personnel number when an employee is hired in error, Im sure it is ok to delete the employee before it can generate any transactional data( within few hours or so), but there has been argument on this that SAP has provided a standard functionality on deleting PERNR then why cant we use it.
We all know that there is a difference between standard functionality and Best Practice , but how do we come across this hurdle is my current worry.
Any live examples or exprience shared will be appriciated.

Hi,
Deleting Employee numbers is not a good practice.
See to it that users dont have rights to critical TCodes like PU00,PU01 etc.
Talk to the basis team to revoke such critical Tcodes.
You can always change employee data if hired incorrectly.
If at all an employee code is to be deleted there should be amail to Basis TEam/ Helpdesk alsong with the reason.
See to it that users are educated well .

Choose transaction SLG1.
The Evaluate application log screen appears.
In the Object field, enter HRPU.
In the Time Restriction group box, enter dates and times to determine the period you want to check.
Choose Program Execute.
A list of payroll results deleted during the specified period is displayed. The list displays the deletion date and the administrator who has deleted the payroll result.
Select an entry from the list.
Choose Goto Display messages.

You can get your requirement but it depends whether your number range is external or internal. I will guide with the help of an example.
Lets say u have generated following Personnel number:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
Out of which u think personnel no 3, 4, 7 is wrong. Go to PU00 and then delete it.
Now u can assign the same personnel number only if ur number range is external. If its internal these number are lost for ever.
Now i think ur number range is internally generated. When u delete 3, 4, & 7 and then again hire a person the system gives personnel number 11.
When u take out a report through Ad Hoc Query these numbers will be missing (i.e. 3, 4, & 7) so by looking at this report u can say which are the personnel number missing.

Drawbacks on program: Delete Personnel Number (RPUDELPN)

I am using this program "Delete Personnel Number (RPUDELPN)" to delete personnel data. It works fine in Development environment. But it fails to work if T000-CCCATEGORY = "P" (production client).
I am thinking of copying a program and comment the following codes, so the program can go through in production.
IF t000-cccategory EQ 'P'.
MESSAGE e637.
ENDIF.
However, my question is: (1) is there any drawbacks on running this program in production? (2) Why this standard program set this error message? any special reasons?

Since I have to delete the personnel in batches, while PU00 can only delete one single personnel. So I think I still have to use RPUDELPN.

Do you want to re use the Personnel Number which has been deleted or you want the master data of the Pernr ,You have not mentioned that in ur query clearly
In case if the issue is with PERNR set the deleted PERNR No in Current No Column in PA04 and try to hire you will get the no that has been deleted
In case of master data i dount think u can retrive the data

Trace to find PERNR deletion

We have a case where the PERNR was completely deleted from production. We checked the audit logs for infotype to find how the pernr was deleted but the audit log doesnt show any logs of deletion.
How can I find when and how the PERNR was deleted?

Hi Arun,
There is no report for the list of Deleted personnel numbers.
you can delete the personnel number through PU00 & PA30 - utilities - delete personnel no.
if any payroll is run for the employee system will not delete the personnel no's.
if you have done the internal no. for Employee hiring you can check the Missing Employee no. which are deleted.
Check this Employee list : S_AHR_61016369
It will show the Emp. no. name job title entry date and leaving date
in the employee no. which no's are missing those are deleted numbers.

Check out the transaction code - PU00 ( Delete personnel Data).
But, we should not delete the personnel no. and it is not advisable at all.

To delete the personnel number use, Go to sa38 and give RPUDELPN and delete the number, and to delete personnel data use PU00.

1.PU00 - select all the infotypes and delete
2. PA30 Utilities->delete personnel no
3. Use report RPUDELPN

i have a scenerio where i need to delete the infotype 0008
we have 2 system one for payroll process another for maintaining data
salary exempt we have infotype 8 in payroll system but not in maintainence system
so a person is moved from hourly to salary exempt , we need to delete infotype 8 in maintenance system

deleting infotype is not good, either you can delimit the infotype or else if you dont want the data in the infotype 0008...
you can delete the data in pa30 by giving personnel number for whom you want to delete... Go to Utilities in the Menu Bar and click the Delete Personnel Number then you will get the list of Infotypes which are there for that employee in that select the Infotype 0008 and click Delete Icon in the Tool Bar and the data will be deleted in the PA30.

Hi Rakesh,
In case payroll is executed for the particular employee / group please delete the results before you delete the infotype 0008. PU01 is the T-code to delete the payroll results. Once the results are deleted and then delete the infotype 0008 through tool bar -> Utilities-> delete personnel no -> Infotype 0008. For your reference find the screen shot below
