Does anyone in the known universe know how to find and delete saved games in Sid Meier's Railroads running on Mountain Lion. And no, don't say go to My Documents, etc. etc. as that doesn't seem to exist in anymore. Thanks.

I'm running Firefox 4 under Windows 7.
I have it currently set to delete my history when I end the session, including cookies and temporary files. This is due to privacy concerns.
However, I also have a (downloaded - not run online or via a browser) flash based game on my computer - which saves games as LSOs.
Firefox therefore deletes my saved games when I exit.

I am having a problem where my flash game saves are deleting themselves on their own. I don't even have to clear browsing history, and I do not have any cleaning software installed. I have set storage to unlimited and that worked for a few days but I loaded a game this evening and my save file was gone and the storage had been reset to 100kB. You should be able to redownload the game without cost. However, the levels/scores are gone unless you have a backup in iCloud or on your computer. Some on-line games store the levels/scores on the game's servers, not on the iDevice.

ITunes 9 - Home Sharing Settings and Saved Game Data?

The new "Home Sharing Settings" feature to automatically transfer applications from one home computer to another is great. However, it seems like there is a huge omission with this feature if you can't transfer your game settings and saved data when you use this option as a way to change computers to sync an iTouch or iPhone.
Here's my scenario: originally had iTunes on a Windows PC to purchase and sync up my iTouch. Recently bought another iMac and want to use it as my "master" computer to sync up my iTouch. Used the Home Sharing Settings feature to quickly copy all of my songs (with ratings) and apps from the PC to the Mac. Everything great so far.
Purchased a few more apps in the iTunes store on the iMac. Plugged in the iTouch to copy the new apps, but of course it wants to delete everything and start over (to be expected I guess). But with that I assume all of my saved game data in my 50+ apps will be lost!
Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I've now authorized my laptop with my fiance's itunes account and my personal iTunes account, this is key.
I'm now able to transfer songs from either her laptop or my iMac (where my music is stored for now) as long as the current logged-in Home Sharing account is active. So it's basically like logging into an ftp server, only one connection allowed at a time.
So just turn off Home Sharing and then turn it back on again, re-enter the other systems iTunes account info and there you go, you can transfer from that one now. Of course this would be simpler if you were just merging two computers/accounts instead of adding in a 3rd laptop like my experiment. You should just have to make sure all computers involved (up to 5) are authorized for all the iTunes accounts involved.
And yes using the settings button with in the home sharing window, you should be able to automatically sync any new purchases from the current shared account, music, movies, apps, etc.

Losing my saved games

I know this is not in the iphone section but I figured that apps on ipod touches work the same
Hey I do not have much space left on my iphone so I constantly install/remove/reinstall many of my apps. However I noticed that everytime I take off an app and put it back on the saved game is no longer there.
maybe there is a fix for this?

App data is saved in backups, so if you feel like driving yourself crazy (or maybe coming up with a fun automator workflow) you could save every backup you do elsewhere on your machine so they don't get overwritten, then keep track of when you delete certain apps so you can find the backup that has the game data you want, then restore from that backup when you want your game data back. But doing that will delete any new data from between the old backup and the present moment.
Alternatively, you could try to save room elsewhere, or only delete apps that back themselves up online or to a desktop app, because app data is not saved when you remove an app from an iphone or touch.
It would be a great feature to add to itunes 9.1 though, so submit it here:

How Do You Save The Saved Game Files On the iPhone If It's Possible?

Hi. Sometimes the best apps like games are 1GB or more and you need to erase it to make way for photos or videos but is there now a way to save the saved game files and other saved setting for other non-game apps? I'm on iOS 7 which is very nice once you get used to it (the icons and individual elements are not good looking on their own but as a whole, 7 is). If I delete it hours of work on say, an RPG app, will be restarted.

Not possible to delete any apps included with iOS, and the App Store app is included.
Do you have Restrictions enabled on your iPhone?
Have you checked in every folder on every home screen?

I delete a game by accident, after I install it again, all the saves are gone, is there any chance that I can get it back??

It depends on the game. Some games sync to iCloud and some games are saved on the developers servers. I have a game that syncs the saves to iCloud but you will know if you game does by going to Settings and see if the game shows up on the left side - tap the game icon and if it was set to save to iCloud - you are OK.
Otherwise - it will be a sad ending, as there is no other way to restore the data.

About a week ago, i plugged my ipod in my computer to charge it up. I didn't have access to internet. Of course, itunes wanted me to do the authorize thing ( it does so every time i plug it in, shouldn't it know ? i am always on the same PC !) since i didnt have internet, it couldn't authorize and so all my apps were deleted.....
while at my friend's, i had access to internet and reinstalled my Final Fantasy tactics app.
Afterwards, when i had access to internet at home, it put all the apps back, but i lost my Final Fantasy Tactics saved file..... i had enough hours put in, that i dont feel like starting over and i paid 18$ for that app !!
Is there anyway to restore my saved game ? is there anyway to prevent Itunes from deleting all my apps when i don't have access to internet ?
i hope so, if not i'm a very unhappy 450$ poorer customer.....

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you made a backup you can restore from backup and iPod will be like it was when the backup was made. To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore via iTunes all the apps have to be in the iTunes library for the app data to have a place to go.
An iPod can only sync to one iTunes library. If you sync to another library/computer the iPod will be erased and its contents replaced with what is in the iTunes library. To prevent automatic syncing when you connect go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says "Prevent iPods....".

How do you delete 'SAVED MESSAGES' on iPhone 5s? It's taking up about 10GB of 32 GB capacity.

After much searching on the web and reading many (sometimes amusing) posts on this topic here is what I have found.
In Settings>General>Usage my saved mesages were using 3.2Gb and no apparently immediate way of deleting them.
However as the good book says "seek and ye shall find".
SO this is where I went:
Settings>iCloud>Account> then scroll down to ADVANCED and select Mail; again scroll down to the bottom and select Advanced and yet again scroll to the bottom (well at least to DELETED MESSAGES) and tap on the line called Remove.
Here at last you will find a setting that enables you to select the period after which iOS will remove your deleted messages.
The shortest period is one day so you will haev to wait 24 hours to finally have that memory back but it should work and is a nice feature in iOS although it is well burried!!

Hi,
Sounds like what you want to do is evict the item from the cache, rather than remove it. Evicting the item is effectively saying the entry in the cache is out of date, and Coherence should retrieve it from the database should a new request for the key come in.
You can set up eviction either through config, (to evict after a period of time or when the cache reaches a certain size), or pragmatically using an entry processor, (which calls remove(true) on the entry passed to it. The 'true' means evict rather than delete).

No. Transferring the app to the computer only transfers the app itself. not app data. App dat is stored in the iPod backup that iTunes makes as the first step of the a sync and of an update. Therefore, I would do one last sync of the iPod before restoring and ensure that the backup gets made. You can check by going to the Devices tab in iTunes' Preferences and looking at the date of the backup. Also, make sure your apps are in your iTunes library since the apps themselves are not in the backup but are synced to the iPod at the end of the update.
