Delete subscribed calendars on OS X 10.8.4

I now have at least 60 of the same SUBSCRIBED  OSU FOOTBALL SCHEDULES ON MY CALENDAR.  HOW DO I REMOVE THEM?

Hello Jody,
You can follow the steps below to delete a calendar:
Delete a calendar or calendar group
Click Calendars (in the top-left corner of the iCal window), and then select the calendar or calendar group you want to delete by clicking its name in the Calendars pop-up list.
Choose Edit > Delete.Deleting a calendar group deletes all the calendars contained in the group.
You will have to do this step for each calendar, but you can also right click on the calendar name to get the option to right click.  You can find the full article here (this article title refers to iCal on Mac OS X Lion, but the steps are applicable in Mountain Lion as well):

  • How do I permanently delete 'subscribed' calendars I no longer want?

I've converted most of my calendars over from Google calendar to what appears to be a more robust iCloud calendars.  I've even subscribed to calendars I want via iCloud and they work just fine--consequently, I have no need for the ones I no longer subscribe to outside of the cloud.  So I click on 'Calendar', then 'Calendars' (in the upper left of Calendar), and a list of 'Exchange', 'iCloud', and 'Subscribed' calendars appears.  I click on 'Edit' and the two 'Subscribed' calendars I no longer want, and delete them.  They dutifully disappear.
But then the return after a few minutes.  Try as I might, no matter how many times I delete these two Subscribed calendars, they return.  How do I delete them so they stay permanently deleted?

  • Cannot delete subscribed calendar.

After installing Snow Leopard, all my calendars were duplicated. I deleted one of each, and then noticed that one remaining subscribed calendar was greyed out and had an exclamation point next to it. I tried to refresh it and nothing happened. I tried to re-subscribe and it said I was already subscribed. I tried to delete it and iCal crashed. I unpublished the calendar on the other computer, and still couldn't delete without crashing. I've been thru the forums and tried several things, including deleting the com.apple.iCal.plist file. iCal still crashes every time I try to delete the subscribed calendar. Help!!??

Well, I was able to solve my problem. Here's what I did:
    1. From my wife's computer I unpublished the calendar and then I renamed it. Then I republished the calendar living all of the information intact under a new name. Then I sent an e-mail to myself with the new subscription link.
    2. Then I went to my computer and I was finally able to delete the old calendar by using "command+delete" at the same time. It was either that or "control+delete", but I think it was the command button. This deleted the calendar from the list which was grey and had an exclamation point next to it.
    3. I then subscribed to the renamed calendar via the e-mail that I sent and everything is back to normal.
Not sure what went wrong but something was obviously corrupted and just needed to be cleaned out. Hope this method works for you too. Let me know.

  • Find and delete subscribed calendar in iCal

I downloaded a calendar, and inadvertently put it in with birthdays and holidays. Now I can't find it. I keep getting an error message, every time I open iCal:
"The server responded with an error. Access to “Sun enters Aries” in “Birthdays, Anniversaries” in account “[email protected]” is not permitted. The server responded:
    “HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden”
    to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation."
There are then 2 choices:"Go Offline" or "Revert to Server"
How can I remove this calendar?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You should be able to click on the calendar and choose Edit>Delete.

  • How can I delete a subscribed calendar, Hong Kong holidays from calendar on Ipad 4. This was inserted through a hacked gmail account.

I Have an ipad 4 with ios 7. Through clicking on a link sent in a hacked gmail account, a 'subscribed' calendar, named Hong Kong holidays has been inserted into my calendar. How do I delete this calendar and how does it affect my personal details?
    I have changed my password.
    THank you

    Hi Cigire34,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Are you syncing the iPad with a computer and do you see the account on your computer? It sounds like you may have Google Calendar account setup on your iPad, which will have to be deleted from settings or the Google site. The instructions in the following article should help.
iOS: Syncing multiple Google CalDAV calendars
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4372
After adding your Google Calendar account using Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account… > Other > Add CalDAV Account, the primary calendar will sync with your device.
To sync additional Google Calendars, you must configure them using this tool on the Google website. Note that you must log in to your Google account to access this page.
    Cheers!

  • Subscribed calendars will not delete -

I have serially deleted calendars to which I no longer wish to subscribe.
I have delected them on my iPad, iPhone and iCloud.
The calendars keep coming back after they have been deleted.
    Any suggestions?
I uncheck the calendar before deleting it.

  • Subscribed calendar does not disappear after deletion

Hi, I recently deleted a subscription to a calendar on my iPhone, but all the events are still present in my iCloud. So how can I get rid of them?

    Hi Reygok,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue. If you are having issues removing a subscribed calendar or events from iCloud, you may find the following articles helpful:

  • How to remove/delete a "Subscribed Calendar" on iPhone

I have a calendar I supscribed to, but wont delete.  I tap on the red circle, but theres no way to remove it.  Help!
I Have a calendar on my iphone that I subscribed to.  It's under "other".  It wont delete!!!!  I tap on the circle... nothing....

I have exactly the same problem.
In the Calendar Prefs on a Mac running Mavericks, one can select "Show Holidays calendar" in the "General" tab. But this setting is seemingly only for the local Mac. One can use the Info panel of Mavericks Calendar.app to move this subscribed Calendar to an iCloud account, and then it sync's to other Macs/iPhones, but NOT to iCloud.com.
However, all these actions DO NOT affect the Holiday Calendar on the iPhone. For this one, one can only chose between show and do-not-show.
Result: as long as one has not all devices that one is syncing running Mavericks, it seems one will have a duplicated Holidays Calendar on the iOS 7.x devices.
ADDED: on Mavericks Calendar.app I can rename the Holiday Calendar, but this is not possible on the iPhone. Also, it seems that a color selected for the Holiday Calendar in Mavericks Calendar.app (and also a changed name) will not sync to the iPhone.

  • Subscribed calendar deletions not reflected in ical

    Hi,
I use webcalendar (http://www.k5n.us/webcalendar.php) as a web based calendar tool for managing my family whereabouts and plans. I have 5 users within the web tool and all 5 users have enabled remote subscriptions.
I subscribe to all 5 calendars from my MacBook in order that I can then sync these up onto my IPOD iTouch and all this is working fine.
My problem is that when I delete an item from within WebCalendar this is not reflected on iCal and the only way I can seem to work around this is through deleting the subscribed calendars and recreating them. As I don't seem to be able to automate this using a applescript this is a tedious task hence raising a plea for help on this forum.
Thanks in advance for any pointers...

This is a schema issue with QuickBooks, and you'll have to continue to update these items by hand until the issues is addressed by the Intuit programming team. I cannot believe that they are not already aware of it, but you should report it anyway.
On its face, it is ridiculous for them to create an event with an end point value which occurs prior to the start point value. All day events cannot end before they start! Actually, no event can end before it starts…
By definition, an all day event in iCal is one which starts on a particular date at 12:00:00 +0000 and ends at 12:00:00 +0000 on the next day. For example, an all day event on March 15, 2006 is represented in the truth [when pushed from iCal] as:
    2006-07-15 12:00:00 +0000
    2006-07-16 12:00:00 +0000
NOTE: I didn't pick those representations and that's not the way I would have chosen to do it, but it is what the iCal programming team has done.
As a user, you don't see the time values, and the date representation in the inspector panel is shown [for the above example] as:
    07/15/06
    07/15/06
Again, an all day event cannot end before it starts. So the data provided by the Intuit application is invalid: in effect, the event they have defined does not exist.

i am trying to delete a calendar that i do not want on my iPhone. i never subscribed to this mysterious calendar. now it's listed as a Mexican holidays calendar when last week it was a HK holidays calendar. this recently appeared after the last iOS update. the only options to edit this calendar are to uncheck it and/or to change the color. i want it permanently deleted.  any ideas?

That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. • Deleting a subscribed calendar?

I cannot delete a subscribed calendar off my iCal, either on my iPhone or on my iBook G4 (I subscribed to it from my computer). I select it and when I press delete, it does nothing. I also tried going to the Edit menu, but this is also not an option (it's grayed out). I have no MobileMe account, and there are no accounts in my account list in iCal preferences. I have tried everything I can think of--I even changed the website and the refresh rate, but even though I press "OK," when I go back into the Calendar info, it's back to normal. Help please!!!

  • How do I get subscribed calendar events to show on my iPhone 4?

I have a subscribed calendar in iCal on my desktop that shows up in the list of iCloud calendars on my iPhone, but none of the events actually show up on my iPhone even though that calendar is selected to show its events.  How can I fix this?  It's really strange that my phone "sees" the calendar, but won't show the events that are in it!  Very frustrating!
I've already tried unsyncing and resyncing all of the calendars on my iPhone (i.e. I turned off iCloud calendar syncing, deleted all calendar info on my iPhone, then turned iCloud calendar syncing back on).  No luck.

I had a similar issue.  Basically, I gave up trying to "sync" that particular calendar with my iPhone and instead subscribed to the subscribed calendar directly on the iPhone.
To do this, you have to essentially set up a new "account" in the Mail/Contacts/Calendars settings.  Go to Add Account > Other, and selecte Add Subscribed Calendar at the bottom.  Paste in the URL of the calendar you wish to subscribe to, and it should be added to your calendar.  Best part is that it will automatically update as the calendar publisher updates it.  Be sure to disable that calendar in iCloud, too btw.

  • How to get SUBSCRIBED calendars synched on iPhone/MobileMe

Create, and place this Apple script in your Appliations folder
    Instructions follow the script...
    -- iCal Duplicator 2.0
-- MobileMe Push Sync with iCal does not currently support susbcribed calendars. This has disappointed some like
-- myself, who rely extensively on subscribed calendars. This kludgy solution copies events from a subscribed calendar
-- to a local calendar. Set your calendar names in the script, then run the script on a weekly/daily basis or manually to
-- update your local copy/copies based on the subscribed calendar.
-- Support for copying from multiple calendars has been added. You'll need to enter the source and destination names as
-- pairs. If you want multiple subscribed calendars copied into one local calendar, you can enter the local calendar names
-- multiple times as I have for the "Combined - Local" calendar.
    -- Christian Lindemer, July 15th, 2008 {macosxhints (a) dethbunny (.) net}
    -- * * * Edit values to match actual calendar names * * *
    -- The subscribed calendars
    property sourceCalendarNames : {"Davidcopy", "Othercopy"}
-- The blank local calendar(s) to copy in to, in the same order as the source calendars
    property destinationCalendarNames : {"Davidcopy", "Other"}
-- how many days to go back - the more you add, the slower the script runs.
    property oldEntryDays : 1
    on run
--make sure we have valid names.
    try
    tell application "iCal"
    repeat with testName in sourceCalendarNames
--this throws an error if there is no calendar with the given name, thus checking the calendar's validity.
set testCal to (the first calendar whose title is the testName)
    end repeat
    repeat with testName in destinationCalendarNames
set testCal to (the first calendar whose title is the testName)
    end repeat
    end tell
    on error
--if a name can't be found, alert user and halt.
    calendarNotFound(testName)
return --this effectively quits the script
    end try
    repeat with destName in destinationCalendarNames
    clearEvents(destName)
    end repeat
    set calendarCount to 1
    --repeat through all calendar names
    repeat with sourceName in sourceCalendarNames
--get the calendar names and pass them to the copyEvents function
set destinationName to item calendarCount of destinationCalendarNames
    copyEvents(sourceName, destinationName)
set calendarCount to (calendarCount + 1)
end repeat --repeat through all calendar pairs
    end run
    on calendarNotFound(notFoundName)
display alert "Calendar named " & notFoundName & " was not found in iCal. Please edit the script to match your calendars."
    end calendarNotFound
    on clearEvents(destCalName)
    tell application "iCal"
    --Clear the destination calendar
set destCalendar to (the first calendar whose title is the destCalName)
set calendarEvents to (events of destCalendar) -- get the destination calendar's event list
repeat with myEvent in calendarEvents -- delete each existing event
    delete myEvent
    end repeat
    end tell
    end clearEvents
    on copyEvents(sourceCalName, destCalName)
    tell application "iCal"
set sourceCalendar to (the first calendar whose title is the sourceCalName)
set destCalendar to (the first calendar whose title is the destCalName)
set calendarEvents to (events of sourceCalendar) -- get the calendar's event list
repeat with myEvent in calendarEvents -- repeat for each item found in the source event list
    --Don't bother with old events
if start date of myEvent > ((current date) - oldEntryDays * days) then --event is in future, or within prefs for old entries
-- gather relevant details of event to create new event with
set eventStart to start date of myEvent
set eventEnd to end date of myEvent
set eventAllDay to allday event of myEvent
set eventSummary to summary of myEvent
-- create event in destination calendar with details of subscribed event
    tell destCalendar
    make new event at end with properties {summary:eventSummary, start date:eventStart, end date:eventEnd, allday event:eventAllDay}
    end tell
end if --if not older than 'oldEntryDays' days ago
end repeat --iterate through entries in source calendar
    end tell
    end copyEvents
Let's say you have a subscribed calendar named "David"
Go into iCal and create a new calendar ("on my Mac") named "Davidcopy" with the same color as your subscribed calendar.
Repeat for any other subscribed cals you want to sync to iPhone.
    Open the CopyCal script
Edit the first line of (uncommented) code which starts with property sourceCalendarNames:
Change the names of the cals in this list to match the subscribed cals you wish to copy
Edit the list on the next line to match the NEW cals you created ("Davidcopy" etc)
Next look at iCal and uncheck the subscribed cals.
Run the script and watch the copying take place.
Now to automate this, set up an event everyday (as often as you like). Preferably this can be in another calendar you don't publish - so everyone doesn't have it cluttering their view of your cal.
For example I have events named "sync" at 9:30am and 5pm every weekday. For the alarm, use "Run Script" and choose the CopyCal.scpt.

    on copyEvents(sourceCalName, destCalName)
    tell application "iCal"
set sourceCalendar to (the first calendar whose title is the sourceCalName)
set destCalendar to (the first calendar whose title is the destCalName)
set calendarEvents to (events of sourceCalendar) -- get the calendar's event list
repeat with myEvent in calendarEvents -- repeat for each item found in the source event list
    --Don't bother with old events
if start date of myEvent > ((current date) - oldEntryDays * days) then --event is in future, or within prefs for old entries
-- gather relevant details of event to create new event with
set eventStart to start date of myEvent
set eventEnd to end date of myEvent
set eventAllDay to allday event of myEvent
set eventSummary to summary of myEvent
set eventRecurrence to recurrence of myEvent
-- create event in destination calendar with details of subscribed event
    tell destCalendar
    make new event at end with properties {summary:eventSummary, start date:eventStart, end date:eventEnd, allday event:eventAllDay, recurrence:eventRecurrence}
    end tell
end if --if not older than 'oldEntryDays' days ago
end repeat --iterate through entries in source calendar
    end tell
    end copyEvents

  • How to delete a calendar on the iphone ???

When the mobile me services were upgraded a few days ago, the calendar imported from entourage and synced to the iphone via iCal was suddenly duplicated.
syncing works just fine, but it is impossible to get rid of the old calendar on the iPhone. even deleting all calendars from iCal and then syncing via mobileMe cannot remove this calendar. it has gone from the local iCal and from mobileMe but it still is there on the iPhone.
As I said-syncing the iPhone with the empty mobileMe does NOT remove the calendar. How can I get rid of it ?

I finally worked this out. My situation had old calendars that used to be synced in combination with switching to a different Mobile Me account.
Bottom line is that once a calendar is created locally on your iPhone for whatever reason, there is no way to delete it. You can only reconfigure the set of calendars, but how to do that can be a can't-get-there-from-here-in-this-state problem.
Here is a step by step of what I had to do to restore sanity:
This assumes there is no calendar information that lives only on your iPhone that you want to keep.
On your iPhone, in Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars, find your Mobile Me account, turn off "Calendars". Exit the settings application (hit the button to go back to the home screen), or the next sync will fail.
Temporarily create a calendar in iCal called "Apple FAIL" or something. In iTunes under your phone->Info, "Sync iCal calendars", select just that calendar (unchecking the option to sync iCal calendars won't clear out the stranded ones).
Under "Advanced" on the same screen (you might have to scroll down to see it), check "Calendar" under "Replace information on this iPhone"
    Sync.
On iTunes, uncheck "Sync iCal calendars"
    Sync.
On your Mac, delete the temporary "Apple FAIL" calendar you created
If you are using Mobile Me:
On your iPhone, go back to Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars, find your Mobile Me account, turn "Calendars" back on.
    Otherwise:
In iTunes, select the iCal calendars you want and re-sync
    Soapbox:
Apple is normally good at solving complex issues with an intuitive user interface and a convenient workflow. This situation is a fail on both accounts.
What lead to this situation for me is I wanted to see subscribed calendars on my iPhone in addition to using Mobile Me. Syncing a subscribed calendar in iCal from my Mac won't actually set it up on my iPhone as a subscribed calendar, so that calendar on my iPhone is only as up-to-date as my iCal version of it was as of the last time I synced, which then will only be as up-to-date as the last time I ran iCal and synced it. Instead, I have to manually subscribe to the calendars on my iPhone by either emailing myself the webcal: links or typing them into Safari on my iPhone. Managing subscribed calendars both on my iPhone and iCal is a giant PITA.

  • Cant delete iCal calendar

I subscribed to a calendar a couple years ago but it is no longer relevant and I want to delete it from my list of calendars in iCal. I keep trying to delete it, but after a couple of minutes it reappears. How can I really delete this calendar? Is there a way to "unsubscribe" from subscribed calendars, other than the "delete" function? If I have calendars connected with my iPone via iCloud, do I have to delete it on both devices?

    Hey FH678,
Thanks for the question. Let’s check to see where this subscribed calendar is located. To do so, right click on the calendar name in the sidebar, and choose “Get Info”:
If the “Location” of the calendar is set to something other than “On my Mac”, go ahead and change it. Once the subscribed calendar is stored locally on your Mac, quit and reopen the Calendar application and attempt to Delete the calendar once more.
