Delete TREX Trace Files and Turn TREX Off
Hi ,
We have massive amounts of TREX trace files that are taking up all of the memory. How do I delete these files? How do I know what files to delete? Also we are not using TREX in our BI server, how do I turn this OFF so that these files and never created?

Hi Sanam,
For the TREX Preprocessor trace, You define the maximum file size for the input and output of documents in INI file - TREXPreprocessor.ini
The default size is set to 'Unlimited'
Please check the following values maintained in the configuration file.
Section: [ httpclient ]
Parameter: max_content_length
Default: Unlimited

When set to 10, 0 -->9 are cyclic files. Regarding archiving, yes this is possible. Apart from defaulttrace files you can also archive other java log files (system, network,security etc). The configuration procedure is explained :-

Once the 10th trace file(i.e.defaultrace9) is full, all the trace files (from defaulttrace0-defaultrace9) are zipped to a single file. The file compression ratio is extremely good.
Unfortunately there is no automated mechanism to clear off the archived files. This needs manual intervention(regular cleanup, script etc).
The archived log files may also be viewed for analysis from NWA.
While estimating the size for each defaulttrace consider three factors i) System load ii) Number of defaulttrace files.
iii) Retention days(without archiving)
Ex: System load as observed :
Say the trace file size is 10MB and 6 trace files get written in 4 hours of peak time and 1 trace files is written for 4 hours during non-peak time .Assuming 8 hours of peak business hours and rest all non-working hours.
No of files generated is 62 + 14 = 16 files of 10 MB each are generated per week day
If the defaulttrace file count is set to 16, you can retain one days' logs . Say you wish to retain the same with less number of files (i.e. 8) you would have to increase the file size to 20 MB. Also will have to look at file system space availability.
CAUTION: For a file system occupancy estimate, you will have to also consider as to how many Server nodes are
configured as each node has its own log area !
For this you need to observe the pattern as to how many files are being written then estimate the size and count

I'm having the same problem with my 4S. I have to constantly reboot my iMac or turn off my phone a few times to get it to sync. Before when I had 5.1.1 everything seemed to work just fine. I'm sure its a bug......
Both my ipads running 5.1.1 have zero issues syncing via wifi or directly plugged in. -
Can someone help me?How do I take the zoom feature off my MacBook Pro? I have already went to System Preferences and turned "zoom" off in the Universal Access. I saw where someone said to use THREE fingers to double click... ??? Double click what? And 3 fingers?
What really cheeses me off here is that Apple isn't allowing users enough customization. With each update of iTunes (and the OS and iOS) we're forced to give up something that worked well for the way we want to use the app and make do with fewer (and lamer) options. If Apple keeps this up, they're going to start losing customers fast. I mean if this isn't fixed soon, I'm pretty sure I'm going to give up on iTunes, and then I'll probably go ahead and get a Galaxy when I need to replace my iPhone.
What I don't understand about how they won't let users delete the list of available podcasts now is why? How is this making it a better program? I can understand that not all users are capable enough to right-click on a feed and select "Show all available episodes", so I can see why they want the complete list to be the default (and, surprise, it already was). But to not give users the option to delete that list? It's inconsiderate because it makes navigating feeds with a large back catalogue really frustrating. I'm flabbergasted that no one at Apple considered all the podcast feeds that keep hundreds of episodes available when they removed this feature. It smacks of rank incompetence.
What improvement were they trying to make here anyway? There was nothing wrong to my mind about how podcasts were managed in previous versions. Whatever improvement they were trying to make here, they should have realized that many users would at least want the option to keep things the way they were.
And reverting to a previous version is no solution. I can't sync my iPhone with the new iOS without this update, and (while I do have some issues--specifically how you can't play podcasts in the Music app anymore) I do like the new iOS. -
I bought a song off of the itunes store on my iphone but it wont play. I even tried to repurchase it but it says that I already purchased it. I have restarted my phone and turned it off but it still won't download or play. HELP!
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your phone and re-download it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on it, or the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page. -
When I attempt to drag doc to trash "Finder wants to make changes" "Type your password to allow this" When I do this the doc is immediately deleted. How do I turn this off?

While tuning procedures generally I go through all queries, generate explain plans to check which is expensive and try yo tune that.Recently I got some procedures in top buffer gets list.when I gone through all queries. All using Indexes and cost is very low and accessing small tables.The number of iterations in the loop also not much.But it is taking 3 million bufffer gets for each execution.
How can I find out which part of procedure is causing these many buffer gets? Currently I dont have acces to trace files and TKprof.If I get access How it is going to help me in tuning the above procedure.
I need to explain effictively to DBA the use of trace and TKprof to get this access.TKPROF will give buffer gets usage by query. If the same query (with bind variables) is executed several times, you will get a summary for all executions of the same query. You can also switch on and off trace with ALTER SESSION statement to limit tracing and even do it from another session (see

absolutely that is frustrating. if the battery life is fine there could be two things software or hardware. to find out if your back up your information in itunes and import pictures and then restore the phone as NEW then you can test it out. if it is still shutting off it is hardware related

The image came up on my screen saying that I need to connect my iPod to iTunes, but I have a passcode, so it won't allow me to. And I want to try and turn it off, but my touch screen doesn't seem to be working either, so I can't even turn it off since you need to "slide to power off." HELP! I'm leaving on Thursday morning for six and a half weeks, and I absolutely need my iPod with me. I was just at the Apple store today for problems I was having with ANOTHER product, and I don't really want to drive all the way out to where my nearest store is (which is not very near) if I can figure this out at home. How do I process multiple files and turn them from raw to jpeg. Ive tried and it seems to go through the files but doesnt seem to process them or store them in the selected folder
Yes that was the first thing I did. Then I used the process multiple files and selected a new folder to put them in and selected use open files and selected to turn them into jpeg. The images flash on the screen like they are being processed, but the folder never appears in library. Is it possible because there are a couple 16 bit files open that this corrupts the task. Do I need to create the folder first. Will elements not create the folder on its own.

iTunes no longer recognizes my iPod nano 5th gen. When plugged into macbook usb it appears as my iPhone. Previously both devices had individual identities. Have reset iPod and turned macbook off/on.

I have a 5 month old iMac running Lion and W7 with the latest version of boot camp . It has been operating flawlessly until I went to reboot into Mac tonight. Screen went black, and system is unresponsive. I've tried force quitting and turning power off. Hard drive starts, there's a small amount of drive activity and that's it.
