Delete unwanted  programs

Hi guyz,
Wanted to delete unused programs knew theres a function module which does it (RS_DELETE_PROGRAM), but the thing is wanna create a transport which includes all this deletion programs so when I release that to other systems it automatically deletes the programs in it.Please advise?
Thanks

Hi,
Try doing this:
- attach all components of the program (program itself and its includes) to your transport using write trasnport entry option in se80
- use your program to delete it in DEV system
- send your transport to QUA system. As you removed the program each change will be noticed in the transport entry you did, hence this should send its deletion.
Try that out with one program first. If works, proceed with the rest.

  • Best way of deleting unwanted programs

I have downloaded some programming software that I was using on my Mac for some time, but have since decided I don't want it on my Mac anymore. Because the programming is in Java, it also downloaded very confusing Java add-ons and saved certain projects I was working on. I am confused with whether there is a way to delete the programming software including anything that is attached to it, or whether I have to delete manually and risk deleting important Java software.

If the software has an uninstaller, use it. Otherwise, see if the installer package has a bom (bill of materials) which shows where all installed files are stored.

  • Application to help delete unwanted programs?

I've got a MacBook Pro (OS 10.5.8), and over the last 6 months I've downloaded a number of demos (music software) and would like to delete them and their associated files. For applications that don't have an Uninstaller, is there a program (freeware?) that I can download that will locate these additional files and delete them? Or make them available for me to manually delete?
    Thanks in advance.

I use 'Find Any File' http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/30079/find-any-file
    It's outstanding.
    There's also 'EasyFind' http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11076/easyfind
It's excellent but not as fast as 'Find Any File'.

  • Just accidentally downloaded an unwanted program. how to delete it?

I am still adjusting from Windows to Mac. Let's say I just want to delete this program completely off my computer. But when I control click/right click on the icon and check the options, the only thing that is remotely close to delete is "eject." What do I do? What does eject do? Is there such thing as a recycle bin on a Mac? Thanks!

I believe you are talking about a Disk Image (the Mac equivalent of a .exe file) and as such not an installed program. Yes you can just select eject, or drag to the trash in the bottom right of your dock.
If you have installed the program and it is within your applications folder, the second option applies, simply drag to the trash bottom right of the dock.

  • I deleted unwanted photos from my iPhoto library, emptied iPhoto trash & Finder trash... this did not free up disk space. please help!

I deleted unwanted photos from my iPhoto library, emptied iPhoto trash & Finder trash... this did not free up disk space. please help!
    I have a 15-inch MacBook Pro (Late 2011) with OS X Mavericks 10.9.5
Last week, my 500 GB Harddrive had 120 GB free space. I was feeling crumby and decided to make productive use of taking a day off to lounge around. I snuggled up with my laptop and dedicated hours to meticulously combing through my iPhoto Library. I had 13,000 pictures, and I got rid of those I didn't want. Having said "sayōnara" to about 6,500 pictures, I then emptied the iPhoto trash and the Finder trash. I took delight in the iconic paper crumpling sound of them vanishing into the digital void.
Everything seemed perfect: the photos I loved were still there, the photos I loathed were gone, both trashes were beautifully empty. Having thrown away all of those awful, boring, and unflattering images of poorly light lunches and selfies gone wrong, my iPhoto library was half the size as before! I felt renewed, a little lighter, somehow more free, and I expected my hard drive to be a bit different to.
I eagerly checked my storage stats. My heart sank to see that my 120 GB of free space, was still only 120 GB of free space. I restarted my MacBook; this did not help. I restarted it the next day; this also did not help. It's been 5 days and the hard drive still has 120 GB free space. This is not an emergency and it will probably be a good while before I clutter my laptop to the brim. Yet while I am glad I don't have to see cringeworthy pictures of my ex's unmentionables every time I'm showing off things I do want to remember, I'm still disappointed and now obsessed with solving this mystery.
What is going on? I don't see them, so where are they hiding? How do I get the free space I should have earned from throwing away 1,000's of photos?!

    Thank you, Terence!
Yes, I only emptied the trash when it was really full, once I waited until the trash cans contained 2,600 photos and then I emptied them - Oooops! In the future, I'll keep in mind your suggestion of deleting less than 100 photos at a time.
I downloaded the iPhoto Library Manager and used it to rebuild my iPhoto. After a few hours of rebuilding, it generated a new copy of my iPhoto Library. This versions was nearly identical to the original (it was missing 5 photos and was therefore only 5 mb smaller). I guess my Library wasn't defective.
I checked my storage stats, and interestingly, using iPhoto Library Manager did help with the problem that developed after I re-indexed my hard drive. My hard drive is able to properly recognize data categories again, instead of listing almost everything as "Other". Understandably, my free disk space changed from 120 GB to about 60 GB, because my hard drive now contained a second copy of my iPhoto Library as well as iPhoto Library Manager. It seemed like all I needed to do was throw these away, but when I emptied the trash, my problem was not solved. My Hard drive now looked like this:
It appears to me that when I empty the trash, the things I throw away are just hanging around as backups instead of leaving! I went into System Preferences and turned of my time machine OFF. Now my hard drive looks likes this:
The back ups of the iPhoto files, and the program which I deleted, are still on my hard drive some where but now they are listed as "Other" instead of "Backups". Do you know where they might be and how I can delete them for good?

-I have organized all my songs in iTunes ,deleted unwanted songs and updated the album artwork but it has not changed them in my iTunes media folder location in my C Drive.
How do I update it there so it is the same as my iTunes now so i can back it all up?

I solved my problem. Here's how:
    1. Right click iTunes and click properties from the "Windows 8 Desktop" (or if you want to call it the 7 desktop thats fine too)
    2. Select the compatibility tab.
    3. Set compatibility mode to Windows 7 and click apply.
    4. Open iTunes, sign into iTunes store, Turn on iTunes Match, Add your computer.
    5. Close Program

  • Keep receiving a pop up from McAfee that states "Potentially Unwanted Program Blocked"

I'm very new to owning and operating my own home computer.   Internet just recently installed.   While trying to find a safe "Minecraft" game for my grandson to pay, I now receive the message from McAfee that states "Portentially Unwanted Program Blocked".     What to do    What to do

    Hello,
Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum.
Most probably when you wanted to download the game, it was bundled with malicious/unwanted software, thus stopped by McAfee.
Here you can find some information about the types of the viruses/malware/Internet attacks:
    http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN186&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=141592...
If you continue getting messages from McAfee that virus or unwanted program is present or deleted, double check with different utilities because McAfee may be picking-up only part of the story (aka undetected malware)

As for safe Minecraft game, there are literally hundreds of variants. Search for them using Google/Bing or ask in a gaming forum for recommendation. Use one from reputable sources.

  • How do I delete unwanted e-mail addresses

Did a search but couldn't find any answer.
I know how to delete addresses (cards, individuals) from the address book, but how do I delete unwanted addresses from the mail-program memory, or maybe it's the address-book memory? Whatever it is, it stores the addresses of everybody I ever communicate with whether they're physically in my address book or not.
Now my wife has a new e-mail address, her old one is no longer functional, but every time I type her name into the "to" box, it automatically fills in the old address. How do I get rid of it?
    Stephan Wilkinson

Select Previous Recipients from Mail's Windows menu. You can delete one or more from the list. This will not affect Mail's selecting from your Address Book.

  • How to delete genieo program

    how to delete genieo program?

    Hello, Francisco,
Maybe you will find useful this free tool: http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/adware-removal-tool.html.
This version currently detects and removes Genieo for Mac. It quickly scans a user’s system for adware and its elements and, if detected asks for permission to remove it. It then removes all traces of the software and resets browser settings that were changed by the adware, eliminating unwanted ads and modified default search results.

  • How do I uninstall unwanted programs?

Is there an easy way to quickly uninstall unwanted programs?
A few months ago, I installed a program called Plaxo, but after a short while I decided I didn´t want to use it any more.
The trouble is, it simply won´t go away!
Every time I start up the computer, I get an info that there is a new upgrade for the program - how do I get rid of it?
    Kind regards
    Willi Prochnow Sletten

If the application did not come with an uninstaller, I use a program like AppCleaner (free).
It will usually delete .plist files and cache files that were installed with the Application. This is useful if you don't know where to look.
Just dragging the App to the trash is often not enough as you may not be aware of all the support files that were installed in caches, preferences, application support.
If I no longer have the disc image of the program, I will search for it on google, download the installer again and look for an uninstall option. If there isn't one, I use AppCleaner.

  • Can I delete unwanted apps?

I would like to cleanup the apps page by deleting never used apps, is this possible? If so, how do I do it?  Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hi Helomaniac,
Yes, you can delete apps that you have never used. In Windows, you can do this by navigating to the Control Panel (icon views) > Programs and Features.
In addition, in the case of Potentually Unwanted Aps (PUP), these can't be easily uninstalled under the Control Panel and you will need a good antivirus / antimalware utility to remove as these apps tend to linger at the deepest part of the system (eg. Registry).

  • What does Mac OSX use to get rid of unwanted programes?

you know how windows has Control pannel to remove unwanted programs, what does a mac have, because ive randomly lost 38GB of hard disc in about 7 days

Most applications can be removed by dragging their icon to the trash (and deleting it). Some apps also put data into a folder in /Library/Application Support/ or username/Library/Application Support/ named after the application or the company that developed it.
If the application was installed from a .pkg file there's a utility called "Desinstaller" (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13955) that will remove all files that came with the application. Be warned though, that deleting the wrong package, could mess up your system.
Some apps also come with their own uninstaller.
Another thing you could/should do, is remove cache files and stuff. Use a utility like OnyX (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20070) for this.
Finally, removing the "Universal" part of your applications can free space as well. The utility TrimTheFat (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/28882) will remove those parts of your apps that are not needed on your computer.
    Hope that helps

  • Why does Mail refuse to delete unwanted email?

it would appear that in the dumbing down of Mail (part of the mixing of OS and iOS probably), that Mail is not doing what i want
    i am running OS10.9.5
and for the last couple of years i have been noticing errant behaviour from what used to be a good app
if i delete email, i find it has not gone to the Trash but disappears for a minute only to reappear in the Inbox, i believe this is something to do with linking it to the Cloud, which personally i do not want nor need
the result is if i look for some specific email in the search box i find 100's of emails, some Junk that i deleted months before, coming up
    what is going on?
i read recently that there was no need to file email in Folders anymore, just use Spotlight, or the Search box to find whatever you require
well i have developed a great folder system, it has taken me years, and i still put emails in their relevant folders .... that is the way i want it, not the lazy Apple way
so......... how can i prevent Apple from dominating Mail?
how can i get it to work like it did, which suits me perfectly
and to stop preventing me from deleting unwanted mail
btw i have just reached 90,000 emails in Mail, so when all those previously deleted mails come up, THEY REALLY DO NOT HELP!!!!!!!!!

Download OmniDiskSweeper from the Internet (free) and open it.  It will produce a display i a sequential format showing what you have on your MBP and the space each item is taking.  This should assist you in identifying all of your disk space 'hogs'.
