Delete Warning Disconcerting

The warning box that pops up when moving event clips to the trash is very disconcerting and needs to be changed so the wording reflects what is actually being deleted. For example I just tried to delete only one clip and the warning states:
"One or more media files will be moved to the trash since the last reference to them is being deleted.  External files remain where they are."
If I am deleting one file the warning should say:
"One media files is be moved to the trash since the last reference to it is being deleted."
This will reassure me that I am only moving one file to the trash.
The way it is I suspect I may have accidentally selected more than one file to delte - which I hadn't

Actually, when you delete just one clip, several media files may be trashed: the original, optimized, proxy media, plus possibly some render files. So I don't think the wording is inaccurate.

How to deleted warning "this accessory is not optimized for this phone"

You cannot delete it, it is a valid message.
The issue may be that the dock connector has dust/lint in it or the pins are bent.  Try cleaing the connector with a soft dry brush.
This assumes that the "accessory" that is generating the message is optimized for iPhone.

  • Delete Warning stopped appearing.

Suddenly this morning the "delete warning/confirmation" stopped popping up when I try to delete a bunch of files from a folder.  I didn't change any settings and have tried "resetting all warnings" and restarting the program.  I am on a Mac.  Any ideas on how to fix this so the warnings start appearing again?

  • Finder doesn't show file delete warning message

I think that some time ago when I deleted any file or folder in the Finder, it showed me warning message... Now when I select file and press Command+Backspace (Delete), file goes immediately to the Trash without any warning message. Is this correct or there had to be some warning? I looked in Finder's preferences, but couldn't find any check-box for that... If there should be a warning message, how can I restore it?
    Thanks in advance!

OK, let me give you 5+10 points and mark this problem solved!
Thanks! I think that maybe it'sreally like you said - that some apps maybe prompted and today I noticed that the Finder doesn't, and got confused...

    Hi
The GC clean the alerts of this way:
    - If the alert is warning, you must to clean manually this alert in th ALERTS tab section of GC Console.
    - If the alert is critical the clean process is maually.
When you entry first time in the Metrc and Policy Settings in Oracle database, exists a type of metrics that change of stete( example Invalid Objects in schema) but other metrics collect information and this information not change ( Example Generic Log Error ) .
The metrics of first time clean wher the collection of metric check that his value is less that the value thar produced the error.

  • Itunes Delete Warning

it jus disappered all of a sudden anyone know how i can get it back?? beacuse i had to reload my whole library because i accidently clicked backspace

You can reset your warning by deleting your iTunes Preference files, which causes iTunes to create new ones with default settings. Any special settings you have made will be lost.
This article includes instructions under: *Remove iTunes Preference files*
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
There is also a Robert Jacobson script at:
    http://home.comcast.net/~teridon73/itunesscripts/#itunespreferencesfix
But take careful note of which versions of iTunes have been tested - it only goes up to 7.6.

  • Delete warning

Are you sure you want to show your passwords? warning is annoying, when I go to Firefox, Options, Show Passwords. Perhaps there's a good reason, but if I am the only one who uses my pc and if I sign on to my pc using a password, I'd like to get rid of the warning. Anyway to accomplish this?

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7 or later: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • Time Machine Deletes Old Backups without warning!!

I have just lost loads of pictures and emails when my Timemachine deleted old backups. I was so happy to have an easy way to keep my iPhoto cleaned up while keeping all the photos for the future. I would load my all the photos from my camera, backup with TimeMachine and delete the "bad" unwanted photos, confident in the knowledge that these pictures are still there on my external. I looked forward to some future date when someone would write an easy piece of software to consolidate old iPhoto libraries and even go through TimeMachine and consolidate those photos too. But until that fantasy event, my pictures, even though not wanted were still there.
    Not any more!!
I replaced my hard drive and reloaded my laptop from Timemachine and I think that was the event that sparked the dump.
There should be a special check box to make sure that NO backups are automatically deleted, EVER. They should be a way to make them Sacred!!
There should be a way to create a separate backup just for iPhoto because right now, there are no good ways to easily break apart or merge iPhoto libraries. At least what I was doing worked, (well.... until it didn't).
    Any ideas??

True, TM is not a classic archival system, but until the drive is full, the difference is moot.
    No, the difference isn't moot.
I still have on my TM HD every file I ever had because it's only 1/2 full.
    No, you don't. Read on...
Time machine has three levels of backups:
    1) hourly - deleted after 24 hours
    2) daily - deleted after a week
    3) weekly - deleted only when the disk is full - these are the only deletions you will be warned about
Time machine is always deleting files. Every time it backs up, it deletes files.
But the OP's real question is why he was never warned about the old backups being deleted, as TM says it will do, archival stuff notwithstanding. Apparently TM simply ignores the user's request to be warned.
    No, it doesn't.
That being said, as I asked in a post not too long ago, "how many have had a warning from TM that old backups are being deleted?" as one would expect when the TM preference box, "Warn when old backups are deleted" is checked.
It appears to me to be a bug.
I ask again if anyone has gotten this warning.
Nobody answered my previous post with a yes.
    Yes.
Because Time Machine continually cleans up behind itself, it tries very hard to ever delete the weekly backups. The only time I've gotten the deletion warning was when my disk was full. I think I just avoided the problem by removing my old Parallels images from Time Machine and got back an extra 70 gig or so - good for another six months.
This is not a bug. This is how Time Machine works. It is unfortunate that the original poster did not fully understand this. The fact is that Time Machine backs everything up. If you create 100 files, it backs up the folder with 100 new files. If you delete 100 files, it backs up the folder with 100 less files. Then, the next day, it deletes old backups. The only one it keeps is the last one, with 100 less files.
It is correct to say that Time Machine is not an archival system. It is a backup system. If you want to save your files forever, you need to copy them to a location that isn't under the control of any sort of automatic software.

  • Is it possible to delete photos from the hard drive via a collection?

I use collections to edit photos to find the" keepers".  Is there a way to delete rejected  photos from my hard drive via the collection?

Yes - via a lesser-known keystroke sequence called "splat delete":
    Windows: Ctrl-Alt-Shift-Delete
    Mac: Cmd-Option-Shift-Delete

  • Delete a column froma  table that is used in multiple interfaces

Is there a way to delete a column from a table where the table is being used in an interface ? The only way I could find so far was to delete the interface, delete the column then recreate the interface.
Otherwise deleting warns that the object is referred to by another object and lists the interfaces.
unfortunately the table in question is being referred to in multiple interfaces, so I'd prefer not to have to recreate all of them.
    Many thanks

You can delete all the mappings (source an target) which refer to this column and then physically delete the column.
It's long but maybe better than dropping the whole interfaces using this column.

  • Create a Warning message

If you want to add a new functionality in SharePoint 2013 and that is if you want to create a warning message based on selection of document in the document library and then you click on the delete button a warning message should display.
What and how should I do it?
What other factors should I take account to?

    Hi,
According to your description, you might want to create a warning message when there is selection made and another warning message when the delete button is clicked. Please reply
if I misunderstand what you really mean.
For the deletion warning, when we want to delete an item, an OOTB dialog with warning message would be popped up:
For the selection warning, we can create a custom warning dialog by listening the CheckboxStateChange event of the checkbox of each item using JavaScript.
Here is a link about how to listen to the CheckboxStateChange event of the checkbox:
    http://help.dottoro.com/ljihlcqe.php
Then we can show a Modal Dialog as what the blog below suggests:

  • Question about using Revel on iPhone4

I have just created 3 carousels on Revel and put pictures in them from my camera roll. Now I want to move some to a different carousel. I can copy and put them in the new carousel, but how do I delete them from the original carousel without deleting the picture from the entire system? The delete warning concerns me.

I have another question about the Vision:M. I was curious if you're able to password protect certain folders so that in order to access them, you have to put in a password. I know you can password protect files so it can't be messed with or whatever, but it doesn't stop the files from being viewed. Is there any way to do this?
there is an option somewhere in the settings menu to hide protected files, so you can't see them or edit them till the password is entered.

  • Ipad with new library

i have an ipad that is synced with an old computer. how can i sync my ipad to the new computer without losing my apps?

If you've still got your old computer then you can copy your media and apps via an external drive to your new pc (or you can use a backup if you have one). You can then add that folder into your new computer's iTunes (File > Add Folder) so that it contains your apps and media.
If you havn't still got your old computer nor a backup of your apps, then you can re-download your apps from the app store for free if you use the same iTunes account (assuming that the apps are still available) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.
Anything that you've purchased directly on the iPad should also be transferred (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848).
If you have 'automatically sync music' set, then you should also copy your music onto the new computer before syncing, otherwise anything not on your computer will be deleted from the iPad (I think).
When I got a new computer I copied everything to it first (apps/music/movies), but I still got a 'everything will be deleted' warning when I first tried to sync - though it didn't delete anything and kept all my app's settings and statistics.

  • ITunes wont sync apps

Everytime I plug my iPhone into my computer, it syncs fine and will update but it won't allow my apps already on my phone to sync to my computer. It always comes up saying "Are you sure you want to delete..". Why is it doing this and what can I do to not lose the apps on my phone?

Have you always had Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes before you installed any apps direct with your iPhone?
If not, this is why you are getting the are you sure you want to delete warning message. If you have a single iTunes account - all apps downloaded with iTunes on your computer and direct with your iPhone were downloaded with the same iTunes account and all apps on your iPhone are not in your iTunes library on your computer, with your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. After the apps on your iPhone that are not in your iTunes library have been transferred, make sure these apps are selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes before the next sync. After doing this and keeping Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences, after you download an app with your iPhone the app will be copied to your iTunes library on your computer the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
