Deleted alias shown as inviting email address in iCal invitation

I just discovered that an already deleted alias is shown as inviting email address in my iCal invitation to others. I double checked this in the iCloud Mail account settings: The alias is definitely gone there, but still used for invitations.
Does anyone have an idea how this can happen? How to fix this?
Thanks!

Interestingly this only happens when creating events on the iPhone. When I create an event on icloud.com in the browser the sender email address is correct.

  • Choosing from which email address an ical invitation comes from

I have several email addresses and would like to choose each time from which email address my ical invitation comes from. Now it always comes from my work email address and I definitely do not want that. I went into my card in the address book and saw that my work email address was the top email address so I deleted that and entered it in again, hoping it would then be at the bottom but no, as soon as I saved my contact card the work email address sneaked up to the top.
How can I choose (without fiddling with the contact card) from which email address my ical invitation comes from?
Hope there is someone out there with a solution

I'm at work so I am not on my Mac but if memory serves me correctly, the email is sent from your default email address which is set in Apple Mail's preferences. Currently, I have my default send address set to "whichever account is selected".
So, in Mail if my MobileMe email address is selected, the invite is sent from MobileMe. If Gmail is selected, Gmail sends the invite.
Give that a try and see if it works.

  • I have two Apple ID, how can I delete one and use the email address associates to the main one?

I have two Apple ID, how can I delete one and use the email address associates to the main one?

If you abandon one of the Apple IDs you will also basically be abandoning any content that you have acquired with that Apple ID. Content can only be updated and re-downloaded with the Apple ID that was used to buy it. Apple will not combine the content of Apple IDs and Apple will not transfer the content from one Apple ID to another Apple ID.

  • How do I delete old .mac and .me email addresses from the new iCloud email server?

Now that I have iCloud, all the old .mac and .me email that I never used feeds through it.  Since there is no SPAM filter, I cannot block these emails from getting through and I get lots of spam now.   How do I delete the .mac and .me email addresses?
    Thanks.

I  set the Rules months ago to automatically put all email sent to those email addresses in TRASH.  However, they still appear in my Mail Trash on my Mac.  Just an annoyance.    Thanks for the response.

  • Affecting the "From" address for ical invites

Does anyone know of any scripts that help adjust the "from" address for ical invites? I use 6 or so addresses for different purposes (almost all gmail), and it is helpful if I can send invites from a specific address which the intended recipient is used to seeing from me, else I risk it being sent to their junk inbox, and (gasp) appearing unprofessional.
    Thanks.
    Matthew

    Hi Matthew,
There are six handlers in the applescript (all staring with "on send..." or 'on show..."). Find the fifth one.
The third to last line in the fifth handler is "send mymail". Replace this line with:
-- Altered to open notifications in Mail.app without sending
-- Original line quoted out below.
    -- send mymail
set visible of mymail to true
    activate
-- End Altered to open notifications
    Save and close the applescript.
This modification has survived several updates in Tiger on my machine. I'd expect the transfer to Leopard will mean re-assessing it.

  • How do I delete a legacy bellatlantic email address?

I have a legacy bellatlantic.net email address. I only get spam on it and would like to delete it. It is not an alias address and does not show up in my profile. Verizon support has been of no help. Anyone know how to delete it from my account?

The @bellatlantic portion of your address is not something first level agents have access to. They will need to send a ticket up to the OSC team. Make sure they note in the ticket that you just want to get rid of the Bell Atlantic alias and not the whole address, and that you are aware that once it is deleted, you will NEVER be able to get it back.
As a simpler solution, you could just set up a filter that says if it's to that address, delete it. It can then work in the background without you having to actively do anything.

  • Send email from MobileMe alias, not default MM email address?

On my iPhone I have MobileMe email. It uses the default email address/username that I signed up for .Mac/MobileMe
Is there any was to use one of my aliases to send emails from the iPhone rather than the default email address?
In the desktop Mail app I just changed the email address in Preferences to the alias I wanted to use. But in Preferences on the iPhone the email address is greyed out, so I can't change it.

I have asked MobileMe live support this exact question and the response was that it is not possible at the moment but it is on the table as a possible future update.

  • Can't delete Apple ID because the email address is expired

So a while ago I had to create a new Apple ID because the email linked to the other one was expiring. I switched over everything in itunes to a new email address and everything was working fine. However, every once and a while my phone would still ask for me to sign into icloud using my old apple id (I just ignored it and pressed cancel). A day or so ago, all of my contacts got erased (I have no idea how or why), and am now trying to restore them (I still can access them online through my new apple ID), but on my phone it says I am still on my old icloud account. I cant delete it either because it wont accept the password that goes with the account. So my quesstion is this - can I delete that old apple id/icloud account, sign into my new one so i can get my contacts back, or is there another way to get my contacts back on my phone?
    Thanks for the help!

  • How to recreate a deleted user account w/ same email address

    Hi,
I have a MacMini running Maverics 10.9.1 and Server 3.0.1. In the server, I also have the Open Directory running, but there are no Local Network Users configured at the moment.
I deleted one of my Local Users from the server and would now like to recreate the account with the same email address as the old one had.
When I try to do this, I get an error message from the Server>Users>New User scree saying "The email address [email protected] is already in use".
Apparently the user deletion from the Server>Users screen did not compeltely delete the Local User from the server. How can I get the user including the old mailbox completely deleted?
    wbr,
    tatu

Just one more piece of detail: the reason why I deleted this account was because every time someone sent it an email to address [email protected] it got delivered to [email protected]
After the Local User account deletion now, apparently the [email protected] still works but all mail is piped to [email protected]
So, how do I disable/fix this [email protected]>[email protected] pipe and then how do I remove the old [email protected] mail box out of the server completely?
    wbr,

  • How can I set my default email address for meeting invitations?

As I was adding a friend's and my lunch appointment in my calendar, I noticed an option to invite attendee. So I invited her and she accepted successfully.  My question is that when I invited her, the invitation came from an alternate yahoo email address that I don't use often.  I tried to switch the invitation to show it coming from my primary gmail address but couldn't figure out how to do it.
    Any advice? Thanks!

  • How can I delete a no-longer-valid email address from iPhone's Mail?

My son has changed his email address, and I have made the changes in the Adressbook (they sync correctly via MobileMe). But his old email address continues to pop up in the Mail application. I know how to delete this from the desktop's Mail application, but don't know how to do this on the iPhone.
Any suggestions/pointers? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Veit

The only way to remove this data from your phone is to restore the phone as a "new" device, & not from a backup. Of course, if you do this you will lose all saved data & have to sync back your itunes content. Some view this as a feature, others a PIA. You need to decide for yourself if it's worth going through restoring as new or just living with it. You can leave feedback here:

  • How to delete/reset iCLOUD with outdated email address/no password

I am an iPHONE 4S user.  I recently had a problem logging into my iCLOUD account with the password.  After keying in the password it says that the account has been suspended and refers me to iFORGOT.  However the email address used for this iCLOUD account is no longer operative.
I set up a new APPLE ID and managed to change the iTUNES account to the new APPLE ID.
However I cant change the iCLOUD account to the new APPLE ID.
Even when I try to delete the iCLOUD account, it still refers me back to the password and I get stuck there after keying in the password.
Please help me reset the iCLOUD account. thanks.

    Hello kahileng,
The following article provides steps that should help get your iCloud account switched over. The simplest possible solution is to try the password for your new Apple ID.

  • Dad set up an incorrect email for his Apple ID. I have deleted the ID but his email address is not available?

    Hi
My Dad has set up his Apple ID with an old email address. I have deleted this ID and tried to create a new one with his correct email address. System is telling me that this email address is not available. What am l meant to do when this is Dads only email address? I have tried to answer the DOB question with no luck. I am trying to send to my rescue email address but l cannot get that option.

    Hi willett75,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like his email address may already be in use as an Apple ID and the system is directing you to try to reset that password via date of birth and security questions. Below is the link for assistance resetting a password, but in your situation, if you cannot get past DOB, it may be necessary for you to follow the link to contact Apple Support in the article.

  • Delete only 1 Auto-Complete email address for everyone's email accounts - perhaps via Exchange 2010 or Group Policy?

    Hello
I have an exchange 2010 server and clients use outlook 2007 or 2010 for emails.
I recently deleted an account with the Exchange 2010 server and created another with the same name but a different address.
Now people can't send mail to this new email address because it's cached on their outlook profiles... but it does work after they cleared the cache and send their requests then.
Is there a way that I can clear this one email address from everyone's cached auto-complete list on exhcange or via Group Policy so that it works for all of them? I don't want to clear all of their auto-complete lists.
    Thanks,

As far as I know, there isn't any way to clear only one auto-complete cache from Exchange side or Group policy.
    Thanks,
    Evan
