Deleted all my contacts. Help!?

Basically I think I may be a lost cause but I thought I would put a post up just in case anybody knows of a solution, any help would be much obliged. I recently synced up a phone to my address book with isync, it then copied all the contacts into my contact list and not into a new contact group I created for it. So I thought it would be easier to just delete all the old contacts and start a fresh list. But as I discovered when I went to re sync it the phone now had no contacts. It turns out as a lot of you may already know if the phone is synced at the time and you delete contacts from the address book it seems to do this to the phone's address book. So does anybody know of any solution for me to recover these numbers.
I do not have time machine set up either so this solution won't work, and sadly I restarted the address book application so it was too late to hit undo.
Help me apple community you're my only hope.

This IS a lost cause. there is no way to get those contacts back now. I strongly suggest you start backing up. apart from protecting you in similar situations it will protect you from hardware failures and file system corruption. every single hard drive fails eventually. when yours goes you'll loose everything, not just your address book data.

  • IPHONE 4 – UPDATE ISSUE – IOS 7 UPDATE DELETED ALL THE CONTACTS : PLEASE HELP! PLEASE HELP!

    Hello Everyone,
Following are the seemingly essential details in regards to this discussion :
    iPhone Model = 4
    Purchase Date = 05.Jan.2011
Initial Activation Remark = I used my gmail email account to add contacts initially. But phone always failed to sync (back) with gmail after the initial setup. As in if I make any changes in the iPhone’s Contact List, it won’t automatically be saved to my gmail account. But I thought to keep a full phone back up on my MacBook Pro will be safer option as well.
    Latest Full Phone Backup Date = 19.Sep.2013 [via iTunes-11 on MacBook Pro-OS X 10.8.2]
    iOS 7 Update Date = 20.Sep.2013
    >>>[It went "On" Automatically when I touched to read the details, and could not stop once it got initiated - Actually I wanted to wait until some reviews were out. ****.]
Problem = iOS 7 update deleted all the Contacts that were originally saved on the iPhone.
Tried & Failed = I tried to restore from the available 19.Sep.2013 backup from my MacBook Pro. It restored everything but still NO CONTACTS. If I add email [orginal gmail] account's contacts then it does not show the contacts that I saved on the phone locally; around 1100.
I am in the great trouble because my 1100+ contact list just zeroed by this new update.
[Also, my iCloud all got screwed up. I had earlier used my wife's credit card to register for iTunes, and now my account got her name all over it. There is no option to change the name on icloud.com. I will start a new discussion for this problem.] Though I am trying not to lash out on Apple (for now), but I think that it is seriously getting into my nerves.
Could anyone please help me to get my contacts back? I will be eternally grateful.
I still got the Full iPhone Backup on my MacBook Pro that I did just before the update.
    Please help. Thank you!

    Yes, I did.
It restored everything [incl. photos] but phone contacts.
And, after restoration the iOS was still 7.
I tried twice but still no phone contacts.
Please help me to get my phone contacts back!

  • I accidentally deleted all my contacts: please help?

Somehow I deleted all my contacts in my Adress Book while researching sending a mass email. It has been deleted in iCloud as well. I plugged in my external disc to open a previous back up of "Contacts" in my app folder but it cannot be opened because my last backup preceded my upgrade to Mavericks so the last backed up "Contacts" can not open in Mavericks. Are my contacts held anywhere on my backup other than "Contacts" where I could get access to them. Since I haven't synched my iPhone 4 since the accidental deleation many of my contacts remain on it. Strangely some of the numbers remain without their corresponding names though if that makes any sense.

    Tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Contacts off then back on.

  • My iphone has just deleted all my contacts without any explanation. Any help?

    Hello,
My iphone 4 version 5.0.1 has just deleted all my contacts without any explanation. Suddently my girlfriend called and I could only see her number, not her name.
I went to contacts and there was nobody in there!!! Even more, there are also no contacts on my ipad mini!!!! That's weird. What's happening?
I have gone to www.icloud.com and although there are some contacts, contacts are not synced with the latest updates, I also don't know why.
The most important thing in a phone are its contacts! I thought that apple was providing a complete backup solution, but I am afraid it is not reliable.
What can I do? What can Apple offer to me?
Is there a way of restoring an icloud copy directly from the iphone? I have thought on restoring and updating to ios7 and ask for icloud to put my backup copy of today in the morning, but it is possible that icloud does another copy and rewrites the 7am working copy. I have disconnected wifi in order to avoid a copy on icloud without contacts.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
    Sincerely,
    Jordi

    Hi Jordi,
I have the exact same problem and judging by the other posts we are not alone. The one thing that seems to be lacking is any official word or support from Apple - a "bury the head in teh sand" strategy appears to be the chosen response from one of the worlds biggest brands.
I took it to my Apple store and they were about as much use as chocolate over gloves and told me "this can happen sometimes"???? Seriously, this from an Apple Genius!!??!?!?
I have not had any joy with iCloud back up so I'm afraid I cant offer any help.
I will be going to Twitter and Facebook to try to get some action from Apple so I suggest we all do the same and create a noise that Apple cannot ignore....

  • I took my daughter's new Iphone 5 to shop and they replaced it with a new one.  Today she logged on to my ICloud account and deleted all my contacts and just kept the ones she wanted.  Can I retrieve my contacts, please help

My daughter has a new Iphone 5 and we share an ITunes account.  She logged on to my Icloud Account and deleted all my contacts this morning.  Can i restore this as I now only have her friends as my contacts?

No, data like Email, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes are only synced between devices and not included in icloud backups, so unfortunately you won't be able to restore them. Please see also: iCloud storage and backup overview: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519/

  • How do I delete all my contact groups? Please help me!

I have deleted all my contacts so I can start fresh- there were so many mistakes. How do I delete the contact groups on my IPhone and the "selected groups" in ITunes under sync contacts with Outlook.

I take it you want to delete the itunes list and not from your hard drive.
Select one song in the list, hold down the ctrl + A to select them all (or you can go to viwe on the menu and selcet all. Press the delete key. It might ask you if you want to keep the actual files or send them to the recycle bin. This is your choice, be careful though.
If your recycle bin is set to only hold a certain amount of data and your mucic exceeds this amount you may not be able to recover it all if you make a mistake.

  • I was setting up an iCloud account.  I set it up and the wanted to delete it.  When I did that, I inadvertently deleted all my contacts off my iPhone.  I don't think there was any backup.  How do I get my contacts back?

Hi.  I was setting up an iCloud account on my son's iPhone.  We set up the account, but then decided to delete it.  When we did, we accidentally deleted all the contacts from his iPhone.  There was no backup done yet.  I tried backing up his contacts in verizon backup, but that didn't work.  Can anyone help p,was.  He lost hundreds of contacts

If you deleted the account by going to Settings>icloud, scrolled to bottom of page and tapped Delete Account, then all you have to do is go to the same page an sign in using the same ID; be sure Contacts is turned on.

  • How do i delete all my contacts in mail address book

how so i delete all my contacts in mail address book, i have 1,042,000 blank contacts.

In Lion, the user's LIBRARY folder is hidden. So, it's not visible automatically.
    Open Finder.
At the menu items at the top of your screen, click on GO (where you see Finder, File, Edit, View, Go, Help)
Next within the GO options, select the 'Go to Folder' option. You will see a window open to enter text.
Enter ~/Library and click the GO button.
Now you'll be in your user LIBRARY where you need to be to get to your address book file previously mentioned.
You want to open the Application Support folder then from inside there open the AddressBook folder. Then you can follow Barney's instructions.

I was playing a game on my iphone 4s and I decided to connect my phone to our wifi like I always do to save data. However, this time, it deleted all my contacts. how do i fix this? i tried turning off icloud contacts i even went online the only names it shows are the names of 5 people i added after it deleted all my contacts.. i want to get my contacts restored to how they where before i installed icloud.. please help!!!!

It looks like you didn't do a backup of of the device just before upgrading the iOS.  Have you ever make an icloud backup or one through iTunes?  If so, reset the device and restore from the backup.  If you currently have photos on the device, be sure to first sync them to a computer, otherwise a restore will very likely not return the photos, even though it should.
