Deleted apple mail program, please help!
I deleted mail, and can't seem to find it within the 'install bundled software' on the discs which came with the computer (mac os x install discs 1 & 2). How can I go about reinstalling the program? Please Help...

Java Mail Program - Please Help!
Hi everyone, I am new to Java (been learnig for about 6 months) and I was hoping you could help me.
I would like to write a program to be able to send and receive email (a basic version of outlook express), the prblem is that i have no idea on how to start such a program as i have only written programs such as calculators before.

I thought it uses iCloud, but i see no new photo in iPhoto.? using osx10.8.2 and iPhoto 9.4.2
If you want to get photos from the iPad directly into iPhoto on the Mac the iPad must be logged into the same iCloud account that the Mac is and have Photo Stream enabled (as on the Mac and in iPhoto. Then there's no emailing required. Just put the photos in the Photo Stream on the iPad and they will be automatifdally added to iPhoto if iPhoto's preferences are set as such:

IMEI number is no use.
If you can't track it using find my phone.
Then report the lost to the local authority and your phone carrier.

Apple Mail program will not delete messages
I have a new MacBook Pro Retina. In the Apple Mail program, I am having trouble deleting some messages from my work email (uses Microsoft Exchange). When I login online to my email account, I see certain messages are deleted. On my MacBook, however, they still show up in my inbox. When I delete them, or right click and move to trash, an error message pops up that says they cannot be moved to trash. This is odd, because on the server they appear already to be in the trash.
I have tried restarting, closing and opening Mail, etc. By the way, my older work computer on which I also access the account via Apple Mail works seemlessly.
Ideas?Ah Hah! Though I tried searching for a similar thread, I could not find one until I posted the message and the "More Like This" box on the right led me to similar issues.
I did end up highlighting the box, and going to "Mailbox" -> "Rebuild" which fixed the problem. I hope it does not occur again.

My Apple Mail program keeps hanging and crashing!
I would sincerely appreciate help in trying to determine the continuing problem I face with my Apple Mail program hanging up and crashing over and over again. I have deleted the preference file located in the Library Preferences section. I have deleted the entire program and reinstalled it. I have deleted the preference file and re-created all of my accounts. I have even created a new user and started from scratch in creating a new mail account.
Each time I have used the any one of the following methods, the mail program would run okay for a few hours and then it will start to hang or crash and the only way that I can restart the program is by using the "Force Quit" function. I am growing extremely frustrated after 6 months of trying to resolve this problem. I am tired of going to see these so-called "Genius" professionals who have not given me any potential solutions other than the reinstall the entire Tiger software. Please help!Depending on what did you do to reinstall Mail, you may very well have made things worse. Verify/repair your disk first (not just permissions), as described here:

After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, reinstall the Mail application as described here:

If the version of the system software on your installation disks is earlier than what you're using now, then you must also reinstall the corresponding Combo Update afterwards, to bring the Mail application back in sync with the rest of the system:

Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update, and no applications should be running while installing it.
Your problems probably won't disappear after doing the above, but we cannot proceed any further until you've done it. Post back with your observations. -

To get the Mail application back, use Pacifist to extract it from the Mac OS X 10.28 combo updater. To restore Internet Explorer, move the item /Library/Receipts/InternetExplorer522.pkg to the desktop if present, and then use the Software Update pane of System Preferences to check for updates. If the receipt isn't present, don't move anything before running Software Update.

OS X(10.8.5)Restart with the Option key held down and the Mac OS X install disk inserted, provide the firmware password, click on the DVD, press the button with the straight arrow, access the firmware settings, disable the password, and use FireWire Target Disk mode. If you can't do that or it doesn't work, contact Apple.

Try going to Mail/Preferences/Accounts/iCloud/Advanced and setting Authentication to Apple Token.

Ever since I installed Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard, I cannot retrieve my deleted Apple mail messages from Time Machine. I could do it in the past using Snow Leopard. The effective date for the the non-retrival of deleted messages is the date I installed Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard. Any thoughts?

Mountain Lion appears to have given it an icon very much like an Archive box and put the "on My Mac" folder within that "Box" on both the back ups and the new Mail program - in fact it did it 6 times, which was the origional problem.

Yes, that's how Time Machine restores Mail messages, so it doesn't erase the current contents of an existing mailbox. You can then move them into the desired location. -
Is iCloud membership necessary to use Apple Mail program?
For someone not using a .mac or .me email address, is it necessary to join iCloud in order to use the Apple Mail program?
This whole iCloud thing has me confused. Will it affect how I check for new messages? Do I just turn on my computer, open up Mail and there they are? And will they stay there as long as I don't delete them? (Meaning, are they actually ON my computer, or floating around somewhere out there?) We live in a rural area and our internet service is not always the greatest, so I'm just wondering if the internet is down, will I still be able to read email that has already been received if the internet is down? Or does this iCloud thing require an internet connection to be able to access anything?

When away from my home, I need to utilize iPhone Hotspot (AT&T). I can access RoadRunner Webmail and download to my iPhone with or without the hotspot. But, if I wish to use the Iphone Hotspot to download email via the Apple mail program on my laptop, I get an error message indicating: "The sender address [username redacted]@twcny.rr.com was rejected by the server smtp-server.twcny.rr.com" but I am able to access internet sites. Anyone run into this issue? Any fixes? Thankx

Use 2nd gen apple tv and remote control app on iphones and ipad. We can control some functions on the apple tv but unable to purchase, access such controls as reset, restart, turn off home sharing, etc. Home sharing stuck on old apple ID. Please help.
That is why I said to restore via iTunes, did you check the link?
This will put it back to factory settings and you can set it up with the new ID once you reconnect with your HDTV. This is not done via ethernet, as per the link you need to connect to the computer via micro usb. You cannot bypass home sharing.
FYI: An Apple ID cannot be deleted so the old one would still exist (even if you no longer use the email account it is associated with).
