Deleted bonjour

I was doing some clean up on my Windows machine and accidentally deleted Bonjour. Now my iTunes does not see my AirPort. How do I fix it?

Accidentally deleted Bonjour from my computer.  iTunes will not open.  Running Windows XP. Help please.

Uninstalling and then reinstalling your iTunes should also get your Bonjour reinstalled.
For the reinstall, use an installer downloaded from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
... or you could get it back via your Apple Software Update for Windows.
If you'd prefer not to uninstall iTunes, try the following procedure.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the Bonjour.msi (or Bonjour64.msi) to do a standalone Bonjour install.

  • Cannot Delete Bonjour Created Printers On Win 7 PC

I have thoroughly deleted Apple's "Bonjour For Windows" application from my Windows 7 Home Premium PC because it simply would not work. It would not allow me to access or use my Canon MP530 printer which uses a USB connection to our desktop iMac. I tried to delete the "printers" created by Bonjour prior to uninstalling the software. That did not work. Now I cannot delete the printers after the software is thoroughly gone either.
Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of these Bonjour-created printers from my Devices and Printers container? I suspect they are interfering with my ability to access and use the printer using a strictly Windows 7 configuration / setup (Which is NOT easy to establish. Contrary to Microsoft advertising, working through a network setup like we have is unclear, the printer is not discovered or discoverable, and the network administrator I'm supposed to check with is ME.).
Other Factors Which May Have A Bearing:
    1. The iMac and Win 7 PC are connected to the Internet and each other via a Siemens Speedstream Gigaset SE567 router. The iMac and PC are connected to the router via ethernet. The router also provides wireless access to a Windows XP laptop and a Macbook Pro.
    2. No, it is not possible to directly connect the printer to the router or PC. It must remain connected to the iMac (family preferences and politics rule here).
    3. Bonjour worked very well for us to enable printing from the PC through the router then the iMac (providing the wife had not turned it off or to sleep) when the PC was running Vista. Bonjour printing under Win 7 beta and RC was flaky and intermittent. I also could not delete Bonjour created printers under Win 7 beta or RC. I could only create new ones to try out different configuration options.
    4. Windows 7 was a clean install. The version of Bonjour attempted with Win 7 is the latest (1.0.6) I could find and freshly downloaded and installed.
    5. Other commentators found on PC forums are now warning that Bonjour is not compatible with Windows 7. This is not too surprising as all of the Bonjour related help available on this Apple site assumes the user is running an Airport router. Which we are not.

Update: I made many attempts to create a working printer following Microsoft's (and Microsoft supportive blogger's) instructions for adding a printer under Windows 7. I tried to create both various local printers and network printers. While each attempt did create a printer in "Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Devices and Printers" none of them worked. Either the print job would vanish in thin air or I would get an error message of the obscure kind. And every time I followed up on the error message by allowing Microsoft to diagnose and fix the problem I would always end up receiving the direction to consult my administrator. The only good thing that came from these efforts was that these malfunctioning printer setups, unlike the Bonjour-created ones, would delete themselves when I told them too.
One of the things I did not mention before is that my home PC (HP Media Center [m8120n]) is set up to offer dual booting. If I do nothing for about 40 seconds after I turn it on it boots up as a Windows 7 PC. Or I can choose to have it boot up as a Linux PC running Ubuntu 9.10.
So guess what happens when I tell the Linux PC it to print a page originally created on the Win 7 side in Microsoft Word but loaded into OpenOffice under Ubuntu? Or a web page loaded into Firefox? It prints! Beautifully and quickly! From the PC, through the router, then the iMac and out the Canon MP530 printer.
This told me that port UDP 5353 was not being blocked by my internal router and the iMac was not raising any internal security blocks against print jobs coming from the PC under Ubuntu. Examining the settings under Ubuntu I confirmed the printer was identified as "mp530" and it was printing to my network's internal IP address xxx.xxx.254.3:631.
I decided to boot up as a Windows 7 PC and try Bonjour once again. This time a more thorough investigation of the Windows firewall confirmed that (after re-installation) Bonjour was identified as a recognized application allowed access.
But none of the printer setups previously created by Bonjour worked. Nor could I delete them. New ones I tried to establish would not allow me to specify they print to internal IP address xxx.xxx.254.3:631. (One created by Bonjour did report it was set to internal IP address xxx.xxx.254.3:631\printers\mp530. But that one would not work either. Trying to eliminate the "\printers\mp530" portion of the setting generated a "you can't do that" error message.)
I finally gained some success when I decided to try non-Canon drivers offered by Bonjour. HP drivers also would not work. The setting "Generic" and "MS Publisher Color Printer" does. At least for now.
Does this mean Bonjour successfully works with Windows 7? Not by my standards. More work on both of those needs to be done. Particularly when it appears CUPS works where Bonjour or Windows 7 print services do not.
Oh, and I'm still stuck with five non-working Bonjour-created printers I cannot delete from my Windows 7 "Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Devices and Printers".

  • I deleted Bonjour, since I don't need it for remote printing.  Now I get the message " Airport Base Station has stopped working: and also a message saying APAgent.exe can't be found.  What to do??? Thanks.

I deleted Bonjour since I don't need it for remote printing.  Now on start-up I get the message: "Airport Base Station Agent has stopped working" and also message: "can't find APAgent.exe.:  Do I need AP Agent??  What to do??  Thanks.

The APAgent monitors your AirPort base station and informs you if there are things like firmware updates available. This utility relies on Bonjour, but is not required for base station operation. However, Bonjour makes it easier for your PC to "find" the base station via the AirPort Utility and I would recommend that you keep it installed. If you don't want the APAgent, you can just use the Apple Updater utility (that was also installed when the AirPort Utility was installed) to remove it.

  • HT1349 i deleted bonjour by mistake, how do i repair this

    Many thanks.
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another install. Does it go through this time?

  • Deleted bonjour from my mac

Hi ....I recently was doing a mac 'cleanse' and deleted bonjour software.
Now I'm having trouble with itunes synching along with printer issues.
How can I reload bonjour to previous settings?

    Hi ...
If you can find someone with a Mac they can use the link that Kappy posted to download the file to a USB thumb drive, then you can install from there.
If you can get Safari installed, download and install backup browser such as Firefox or Chrome.
    Mozilla Firefox Web Browser
    Google Chrome

  • I deleted bonjour and so I am not able to sync music I have on my iphone to my library. I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling itunes and that hasn't worked.

I accidently deleted bonojur and now what music is on my iphone is not transferring to my itunes library. I can't get the most recent version of itunes unless I sync my library and iphone which would mean all my music on my iphone being deleted. Itunes says when I try to get the recent version that I should transfer my purchases but when I I click okay it doesn't work. I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling itunes which has also reinstalled bonjour but I still can't get my music from my iphone onto my library...help!

None of that worked but I sat on it for almost 5 hrs and tried the last option of setting up my iPhone as NEW instead of restoring it from a backup that I created through my Indian bought iOS devises. And that solved the problem. So looks like I cannot backup my old settings. But was able to get my aps and contacts recognized through cloud.
And just in case I also updated the iTunes later. Everything works perfect now. Thanks for your thoughts too.

  • I accidentally deleted bonjour and cannot connect my printer, how can I connect my printer?

I accidentally deleted my Bonjour how can I hook up my printer??  Snow Leopard 10.6.8

Since it is a preinstalled apps, you can not delete it. As Ann said, depending upon your phone and OS, you can disable it. Check in the apps drawer. If you can not find it there, go to Systems>Application Manager, then flip the top files to "all". Next flip down the list until you get to Google Play Store. Tap on it and you will see a key titled "Enable". Tap on this and it should return to normal. You probably will have to put it on a home screen, if you want to.

  • HT2250 I accidentally deleted Bonjour from my computer, is there a way to re-add it?

I have a very old, Dell Windows XP computer, that frequently runs out of space on the.. hard drive?? I don't know anything about computers... But it recommended I delete some softwares that were rarely used; so I did. I actually didn't know what Bonjour was until a few days later I opened up Itunes and all my songs were missing! Is there any way to get them back? There were thousands upon thousands of songs!!

    Hello, coop965.
The best way to reinstall Bonjour, would be to uninstall iTunes, all of it's components and reinstall iTunes.  The article below will walk you through this process.

  • Why can't my latest iTunes delete bonjour and quicktime?

When downloading or updating itunes it says that lastest bonjor cannot be delete and quicktime cant be delete also which then quicktime cant be downloaded which then itunes cant.

    Hello bluesrock,
Thank you for the details about the issue you are experiencing.  It sounds like you are missing the AirPlay icon in iTunes.
I recommend reviewing the steps in the section titled "If the AirPlay icon doesn't appear" in the following article (you can skip the steps that refer to an iOS device since you are only experiencing the issue on your MacBook Pro):

  • Bonjour won't delete???

so i just got an itouch and i used to have a nano video, so i needed to update to itunes 8. i went to apple.com and saved the itunes 8 setup to my desktop, then tried running it. it gets almost all the way through and then it stops because it can't delete the old version of bonjour and to contact my technical support group. i don't have one except for a friend that works for geek squad and his help is minimal. i tried deleting bonjour through add/remove programs thing and that didn't work. it said i need to find an alternate route to bonjour.msi. i can't find it by browsing through the computer and i am totally lost. i don't have any idea what to do and don't want to lose any of my music by deleting my old itunes entirely then downloading cold turkey. PLEASE HELP

I don't have anything on that particular error. I have this link to a similar error, but I suspect it will not work for this:
    http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/81/1/An-error-occurs-while-installing-the- Windows-Installer-Cleanup-Utility.html
Are you using Vista? If so you could try Run as Administrator, to run the installer, maybe it needs elevated privileges.
The other possibility is to try turning off UAC for the install.
If that doesn't work maybe we should look into the permissions, for the LOCAL~1 folder - I guess that will be Local Settings.
I am afraid I don't have Vista so I am not experienced with it.

  • TS3704 Trying to delete I Tunes because of missing MSVCR80.dll followed instructions from Apple to delete - Apple Mobile Device support keeps coming up its being used I have gone to program files deleted what I can from folder but left with 3 files

I have been getting the MSVCR80.dll missing message.
Been on the Apple site and following instruction.
Going down the list has instructed I have Deleted I Tunes.
    Deleted Apple Software Update
But when I try to delete Apple Mobile device it wouldn't delete so went into program files has the instructions say by going to Program Files\common Files\Apple\Apple Mobile Device Support Folder.
It still wouldn't delete saying it was being used.
I opened the file and highlighted all the folders and pressed delete, most of them have disapeared into my recycle bin but the folder still holds AppleMobileService, AppleMobileDeviceService_main.dll and MobileDevice.dll.
Message when I right click the first file is AppleMobileService I am told this action can't be completed because file is open in Apple Mobile Device. Close and Try again.
When I click the next file AppleMobileDeviceService_main dll it says  It comes up with This action cannot be completed and File description Apple Mobile Device Service. Company Apple Inc. File Version 17.323.0.9 Date Created 7/9/2013. Try again...... and finally  MobileDevice.dll come up with same message but file version 710.0.0.4 Date Created 7/9/2013 Size 902KB Both say Try Again but the same thing just recurred.
I have left my lap top on hoping that I a swift reply.
I am certainly no computer wizard and simply trying to follow the instructions to get rid of the box which keep coming up everytime I switch the lap top on saying APS Daemon.exe-System Error. The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.  I had looked at the internet and there appears to be warnings not to click on the button.
I have had an apdate from Apple for the I Tunes but it wouldn't update. I thought that may have sorted it so whilst I had a few hours I thought I would go through the process that is advised on Apple's website.
I hope I have not ruined my computer. I haven't even tried deleting Bonjour or Apple Application Support (I Tunes 9 or later) has these are supposed to come after the step I am on.
    Please HELP!!!!!

Sorry I missed your post. Anyone else with the same issue should find useful resources at Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

  • Error stopping 'Bonjour Service' when trying to download itunes 9.2

i recently tried to update itunes to 9.2 on my windows. The automatic download had an error so i ended up having to do it manually. When trying to download itunes, i encountered an error message saying that bojour services could not be stopped. It asked me to verify that I have sufficient privelages to stop system services (??!!). I decided I would try to delete bonjour all together, but i couldn't find it anywhere on my computer. I am so confused and all i really want is to update itunes. Please help!!

    HRESULT: 0x8007054f.
... that seems to have been the most popular alphanumeric code in recent days. (Just like katherine's one.)
In general, these ones tend to be caused by underlying problems on the PC that can prevent Windows Updates from installing. So my main strategy with them is to try to fix the Windows Update issues. If we can get Windows Updates flowing again, that generally clears up the iTunes install errors +en passant.+
Head into your Windows Update, and check for any new updates. Do any fail? If so, open your Update History and doubleclick on the failure entries to bring up a small box with alphanumeric error message codes. Are you getting 8000FFFFs? (They often seem to be associated with an iTunes-install 0x8007054f.)
If you're getting 8000FFFFs, try the following Microsoft document:
    [Windows Update Error 8000FFFF|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-Error- 8000FFFF]
Head back to Windows Update, and see if you can get Updates to install successfully this time. If you can get updates now, stock up on any updates you're behind on. Once you're completely up to date in that regard, try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
