Deleted emails come back!

I use Comcast as my email provider. Within the phone settings I have it set to "delete from server when removed from inbox". Not only does it NOT delete emails (i.e. spam) from the server, but sometimes when I go to check for new mail on the phone, it re-downloads those emails I previously deleted. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks!
Eddie

I have searched for this EXACT problem everywhere. Hubby and I

but have, obviously, same "comcast" account, diff email address
of course. We bth have the iPhone 3gs and ONLY my husbands

  • Mail app glitch? - deleted emails come back!?

    Hi all,
I upgraded to Mavericks today, and it hasnt been smooth at all for me - no wonder it's FREE. One major problem that I'm having is with the Mail application.
I have the application connceted to my gmail account. - When I delete emails from my inbox (on my mail application), those deleted mails reppear in my inbox! No matter how many times i try deleting them, they always come back. But, when i go on gmail.com and delete it from there, then it deletes from the mail application inbox as well.
I hope i made some sense in explaining the problem.
    Solutions? ideas?
    Thanks!

Some people are having problems with Gmail. I haven't had a problem with it at all. Gmail isn't IMAP, which Mail expects it to be, since that is what Gmail says it is, but it's not. It is Gmail.
Gmail doesn't have folders or mailboxes. It tags messages with "labels." When a new message comes in, it is tagged with "inbox" and "All Mail." When you remove it from the Inbox, it gets tagged with the new mailbox it was moved into, and the "inbox" tag is removed. That process isn't quite working for some.
It is likely that something on one end is not doing what it used to do. If Google would just implement a normal IMAP server, there wouldn't be all off this tagging and untagging bs to deal with. My guess is the problem is on Google's end of this as it's server is announcing to the world that it is IMAP and it needs to translate the IMAP requests that it gets from the email clients.

  • MY deleted emails come back too! Please help

OK.. This is driving me nuts now. Not happened for a while but today - I have tried to delete the same 27 emails NINE times now and they KEEP FRIGGIN COMING BACK!!!! Grrr
Always been a huge huge fan of apple - til I got the iPhone! Only had it 3 months and would switch back to my blackberry in a heartbeat!
    WHat to do ?
I delete some - or all - or one - then the others - and they keep coming back. Restarted... not restarted... Driving me mad.
I get up to 100 emails each day - so to KEEP ON having them come back is driving me a bit nuts!

This happens to me constantly and I can't believe none of the Apple experts, either with Apple or not, have addressed this problem. I have spent so much wasted time just trying to clear out messages from the In Box. In one account it shows 46 messages even when the In Box is blank. I even tried deleting the account and bringing it back, but it did not help. Also, like the rest of you, I get constant shutdowns when deleting, then when I go back, there are those deleted messages again. This is driving me crazy! Help!!

  • Deleted Emails Come back into Inbox

I have a iPhone 3GS with POP3 email account. When i delete emails from the iPhone inbox, occassionally I'll receive the same emails as "new" emails into my inbox again...after they've been deleted. Sometimes i delete by sliding the message to show the delete button, sometimes i use the edit to delete multiple emails and sometimes i delete from within the message. i have the settings set to delete from server when deleted from inbox. any thoughts?

I have the same problem on MacBook Pro using os 10.5.8 with Mail 3.6.
I discovered that if I look at emails that have been sent to trash select them and press delete they all come back. When I do the proper erase deleted messages then they don't.
This might be useful on your iphone.
I now have emails coming back to me weeks, or months after I have deleted them, particularly ones with photos attached that I have sent through Kodak EasyShare, and copied to myself!! does anyone know what I can do about this? apart from being a waste of time, I might receive 100 photos in one day which slows everything down and effects my data usage.

  • HT2954 Need help on deleting emails from my email account i'm able to select all and remove them but when i recheck  all deleted emails come back now have 3000 plus

how do i remove emails completly from my account

In mail, highlight the mailbox you deleted the messages from, then on the menu bar click mailbox then rebuild. That will usually get rid of deleted messages that won't delete.

What type of account did you set-up on the iPad, POP, IMAP, the items on your iPad could have downloaded off the server or you will need wait awhile for the message to update to the iPad.

  • My emails come back after deleting

I am using my Gmail account for all my emails, I also have an iphone.  It does not seem to matter where I delete some of my emails come back as if they had not been deleted.  Please Help!!

Hmmm, in Mail Preferences, for that account, what settings do you have under Mailbox Behaviors?

  • Old emails come back marked as "new"

I have had 2 comcast email accounts on my phone for years, all of a sudden one of them started reloading old emails that had already been read and marking them as new. I deleted the account like 3 times and re-added but every time, the old emails come back. I'm at a loss as to why this is happening on one comcast account but not the other.
I read one one of the past discussions that you can change a setting for archives or something but I can't find that option on my phone or in my email account.
Any help would really be appreciated - thanks!

After some initial issues (which I believe were really part of the "learning curve" for a new device), I'm really loving my LG Ally.  However, I have one issue that I just can't seem to figure out how to fix:  My home email, which is a POP3 email, keeps sending me "new" emails, that are actually old emails that I have deleted from both my phone and my home email.  In some cases, it is even email that I have completely dumped from my "deleted items" on my home email.  Why does it do that?  I have the settings on my home email account set to NOT save email on the server, so why doesn't it seem to be working?  I don't have any problems with my work email which is on an exchange server.  Any ideas?
Hi.  I am sorry you are having issues with your email and I can certainly look into it for you.   When did this start happening?  Dif you download any applications before this started happening?  Try to delete that particular email account and set it up again to see if that works.
    Waiting on your reply!
    Thanks!

  • Why does yahoo emails come back with failure notifications

why does yahoo emails come back with failure notifications

In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

  • I have a macbook (late 2011). I have a yahoo and gmail act.'s configured wrong in mailbox. Every time I attempt to send, the email comes back stating that yahoo cannot send with the server. I have changed things around to no avail. Please advise.

I have a macbook pro (late 2011) OS X Yosemite 10.10. I have 2 acct.’s set up in mailbox, Yahoo and Gmail, but it will not send. The message comes back stating that Yahoo cannot ‘send using the server’....I have manipulated things around but to no avail. Both acct.’s receive, but will not send. Can someone provide some answers? Thanks.

    Hi whineyfromleessummit,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're not able to send email from Yahoo or Gmail on your MacBook Pro.
There could be several causes of the behavior. I would start with the troubleshooting steps in the "Mail Connection Doctor shows one or more red dots in the account Status column" section of this article:
OS X Mail: Troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages
This article contains a variety of steps that can help resolve an issue like the one you're seeing.

  • When I restored my iphone 4 all my deleted emails were back. like 4000 of them. How do I stop this from happening? Thanks

I recently restored my iphone 4 when it froze up and when the restore was done, I had over 4000 emails in my inbox. All my deleted messages came back. How do I stop that from happening? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

You have POP mail account.   That's how those types of email accounts work.
You want an IMAP type of account, where if you delete on phone, it will also delete on server.   Should you ever restore your device again it will only update the mail that hasn't been deleted.
You didn't say which email service you use, but try contacting them to see if they offer IMAP.  Or you can switch.

  • Deleted audio comes back when movie is exported.

When I view the project in iMovie, there is no audio except for the music tracks I added, but when I export it as a quicktime movie or to DVD, the audio that I had removed is back. I have double checked the settings, everything is muted, and I even went through and detached the audio from each clip. It still comes back every time I export the movie in any type of format. And I am using speed changes in my Video project. Quiet a few actually.  Any ideas why this keeps happening?

I am having the exact same problem. And I am using speed changes in my Video project. Quiet a few actually. As well as effects, titles, and voice overs. I have a lot going on. But when I view it in iMovie it looks and sounds perfect. But after I export some of the audio comes back. FYI: all my video is in HD and on an external HD (WD 1TB). ... I've tried to export in HD, Lg, and Med. files all with the same results. Please help..

  • Sending email comes back saying sent folder is full and the email doesn't get sent, except sometimes

    Hi,
    two problems:
    1. When i send an email i get an error message saying "sent folder is full ..." and the email doesn't go through. Except if i send myself a test it works. Help?
    2. IN my stored folders the subject remains for many files but the content disappears. How do i get content back?
    thanks
    henry

Sorry, that isn't a Firefox support issue. Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
If your problem is with Mozilla Thunderbird, see this forum for support.

  • Deleted email coming back

I expect 40-50 emails in my box daily... recently email deleted from weeks ago keeps landing back in my inbox.. i have 610 emails from June back.. they've been long deleted, downloaded, and trash emptied... what's up with this?

Same problem deleted 3000!! emails twice and they came back two weeks later. Called AT & T last night and they connected me with some other company called I think Connect something. They had me explain everything again then told me I had to sign a 12 month $15 a month contract with them for them to fix the problem. AT & T tech person said they could not help me so they transferred me to this person without telling me that this was outside of AT & T and that there was a fee. I said no and hung up. I don't want to give up this account I have had for years but I don't want to not be able to delete any emails. At a loss as AT & T can't or won't help for free.
