Deleted emails pop up again in inbox. why??!

I delete emails and in a few minutes or hours they are in my inbox as unread, new emails? I have not changed anything. Do i need to change a setting. I'm a novice. I emptied the recycle bin, trash, ect.
Thank you for your time!

I suggest you disable email scanning in your anti virus program and try again, see if it happens. My guess is not. Some anti virus programs simply drop the ball and leave the mail client hanging and the result of their early disconnection is exactly as you describe,

I have a  macbook, an ipad, and an iphone with the Mail app on all three synced through icloud, but when I read and delete emails on my phone, the inbox on my ipad is not update, so I have to go through and mark as read or delete messages again. How can I sync my iphone and ipad? (it seems like each is synced only to my laptop, so don't synchronize until I go home and use my laptop.

POP: yahoo, aol, comcast/time warnder/road runner
Imap: google, hotmail, and more including icloud.
If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically  Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.
To find out more about what happens to you, search on Google "difference between pop and imap"

  • Deleted emails still shows in my inbox

My inbox still shows unread emails eventhough i have deleted it. And my inbox is empty and there are no emails.

    Mylan,
If you aren't, you will need to change your phone to use the IMAP protocol, as Allan mentioned, to get what you want...  If you are switching protocols from POP to IMAP, you might have to manually clean out your phone inbox, before it starts working.
However, the original problem I mentioned where the inbox is not updated EVEN using IMAP still exists and has only existed since the last iOS update...  To restate:  emails in the inbox on the phone still show up even after Outlook on the PC has removed them from the mail server.  This is proven by looking at the mail server using the web interface to ensure the emails really are not in the in box.
However, I have noticed one thing.  The email list on the phone will update as soon as a new email shows up in the inbox.
That is, there are emails in the inbox and the phone shows them.  The emails are removed from the inbox using Outlook or web interface.  The emails still show on the phone even though it says "updated now".  Pulling down on the inbox making it refresh several times does nothing.  Then a new email arrives in the inbox and the phone updates properly showing only the new email.
Additionally, going to the email account settings on the iPhone, turning some things off and on, and then going back to the inbox will also cause it to finally correctly refresh.

  • How do I permanently delete email messages from my Mail inbox?

Ever since I migrated from Mobile Me to iCloud, I can't seem to delete messages from my MacBook Mail inbox.  They just reappear seconds later.  What do I need to do to delete them permanently?  I've tried looking in the settings, preferences, accounts, etc.  I've also made sure to select the "hide deleted messages" from the View tab.  Please help!  I am sure that there is a simple solution.  They are also staying on my iPhone and iPad.

Settings > General > Spotlight Search > Uncheck Messages
It's that or Restore the device as New with iTunes
    Hope that helps

  • Deleted emails keep re-appearing in inbox

For about the 10th time, I've re-received some emails that I had deleted. I even deleted them from the trash folder to see if they were just moved back in from there. Some of the emails (newest ones), reappear as "un-read", and the others show as read. I have iphone 3gs on 3.1.3 fw. Has anyone had this issue? and if so have a solution? Thx

Not sure how Yahoo works, but it might not be deleting the messages off the server. Have a look in:
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [Your Yahoo account]
Tap the 'Advanced Settings' at the bottom of the pop-up.
Under 'Incoming Messages', see what "Delete from server' is set to.
If it's set to 'Never', try 'When removed from inbox'.
That means it will remove if once you delete it out of your inbox and it shouldn't get confused and download it again. If you have other email clients, such as on your Mac or iPad, they will, of course, no longer be able to download those messages once they've been deleted via your iPhone. The other option is to set to delete them after 7 days, which gives you time to download the messages on another computer.

  • Deleted emails keep returning to my inbox on my new macbook air! How can I stop this?

I recently upgraded from a Macbook to a Macbook Air and now some emails that I delete return to my inbox almost immediately. I've never experienced this issue before and it's kind of frustrating. How can I fix this?

Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore is not, in itself, a solution.
First, empty the Trash, if possible.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 \) 2>&- | wc -l | pbcopy
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear.
The output of the command will be a number. It's automatically copied to the Clipboard. Please paste it into a reply.
The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

  • Any one having problems deleting email, pops me out of email back to icon. Screen

As I'm deleting old emails, I reach a point when it pops me out of email to the icon screen

I have also tried updating to iOS 5.1. Have 5.0.1 on my iPad first generation. Been at this for 2 days. Same results as others. iTunes tells me the iPad needs to be connected to my computer (iMac running 10.7.3).
    iTunes was updated to 10.6.
I got a notice of a firmware update for my Airport Extreme 802.11. Did that.
Tried just from my iPad but got the spinning cog and gave up.
Have restarted my computer 4 times so far. Shut down and restarted my iPad a couple times.
Been on Macs since '94. This is a new one.
My location is just NW of Akron, Oh.
I wonder if the recent soler flare is the culprit.

  • Deleted emails show up again in spotlight

When I type a few characters in spotlight, very old emails show up. I clicked it and it opened the mail.app and the email is still there in a freestanding box. I am unable to delete it however.  I have tried several things. rebuilding mailbox. deleting and adding the account back into the mail.app. rebuilding spotlight. Nothing. Even in spotlight, when I click on show in finder, select the files, delete them and then empty the trash, they still keep showing up. Isn't it a security flaw that Apple should adress, as it seems is has been going on for quite awhile? Ia there a way to delete them once and for good?
It doesn't have anything to do  with the OS.

I'm using Mavericks here and I have the same problem.
After I decided to NOT use Mail and deleting all my mail accounts from my mac, spotlight still finds all my emails and open them with no problem with Mail app, even tho it has no accounts and no folders in it.

  • Deletion of Emails in the IC Agent Inbox

    Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if there is a standard way, for example through authorisations that you can control who can delete emails in the IC agent inbox? The client wants only managers to be able to delete emails. I guess you could change the BSP to suppress the button but would like to avoid having multiple profiles. Does anyone know a slick way of doing this through authorisations?
    Many thanks
    Paul

    Dear Paul Clarence,
I would like to extend this topic with my experience.
Please keep in mind that at CRM Agent Inbox, requested functionality is
not delivered via Authorization Object but you would need to implement it via
BADI CRM_IC_INBOX_BADI Method BEFORE_DELETE as an alternative approach
to actions proposed earlier.  So that your agent are NOT able to Delete E-mails
    inside CRM-IC-UNI: Component: ICCMP_INBOX.
If you would like, you could create Z* Authorization Object and Evaluate
inside CRM_IC_INBOX_BADI, so that some have agents are capable to delete
    and while others are not...
Observe this would be limited to Component: ICCMP_INBOX, if agents have access
to EmailWB (Component: CRMCMP_EMWB), they would be able to perform the delete
operation there. Observe EmailWB, is meant to be used with BR: IC_MANAGER
    FYI, review SAP Note:
882653 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the Agent Inbox
Observe that BC-SRV-COM layer delivers program: RSBCS_REORG
(Note: 966854), to handle SAPOffice Reorganization. It can happen that
due to product bug (at this report) and/or at application side(CRM) - which
might lead to broken links between the E-mail and its: IRec, ST or SR,
relevant e-mails might be falsely candidates to be deleted and could
infact be removed from the system, review SAP Note: 1555986, 1547313.
In production environment, be extremely carefully when scheduling
    previous report (RSBCS_REORG).
When due to bug at Program: RSBCS_REORG and/or a product misuse
(truncating SAPOffice Tables directly at  Database level), a loss of E-mails
has occurred,  BC-SRV-COM have delivered SAP Note:
1593227 Restoring sent documents from backup system
but for it to work Missing E-mails, must be inside your: 28-day Backup Cycle, if
you noticed the missing E-mail after that window and do not have a Backup
then you will not  be able to recover Missing E-mails!!!

  • WHY IS THERE NO ESAY WAY TO DELETE EMAILS ON IHONE AND IPAD?

Why is there no esay way to delete emails on ipad and iphone?  Why is there no junk mail setting for ipad and iphone? If there is let me know, if not can I make a suggest that it be developed as an APP.   Can't believe this opportunity [problem] has not been address before now.  Love to hear comments... or is it just me...

To delete emails you just wipe from right to left on a particular email and you will see the delete button.  Or you can you the trash icon on the bottom of the emails to delete it.
Two very easy options.  Not sure what problem your having.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
