Deleted folder in workspace explorer still in repositry

Hi,
i deleted folder in workspace and trying to recreate the same one with same name. It says "Cannot delete,folder name with same name exists". I believe it is still in repository. Can anyone tell how to delete in repository.

If you are using Apple's Mail app 6.5 is the latest version irrespective of what a previous poster says. It does sound though that you are using a gmail account online via a web browser. Please confirm and fill in missing information.

You might have to kill the RO session before deleting the AW.

Preventing the deletion of the workspace(Directory) while it is in use

Hello,
I have application which allows user to create the workspace.I want to avoid deletion of the workspace from backend while java application is using it.
Eclipse has the this feature ,when i create the workspace("ABCWorkSpace") and start the Eclipse and now from the windows explorer if i try to delete the workspace("ABCWorkspace") ,it won't allow me to delete it.This might be because of the .lock file created in .metadata folder.
I want the similar feature .Could anyone please sugest the way to handle this requirment.

Limit on deleting members from workspace

Hello,
I wanted to know if there is a limit on how many members that can be deleted at once from a dimension in a classic planning application. I know that there is a parameter in the outline load utility that would delete the entire dimension and would load the members from scratch from the metadata file you specify. But is there was a better way of deleting the required members apart from using the outline load utility parameter and deleting from the workspace?
We are trying to cleanup our metadata and also trying to delete some members from a dimension but it looks like it is taking ~ 40 mins for deleting ~ 3000 records. Does this sound reasonable?
Also, I am seeing some strange and unexpected behavior while performing these operations. When I am selecting a parent member (that has ~ 3000 child members) and hitting delete, it would show like it's doing something in the status bar on the browser but after a while it would disappear and the page doesnt refresh. It is neither showing the success message nor is it showing any error which is confusing as it's not telling me if it did the delete or if it didn't do the delete. So, when this happened I went and checked the dimension and the parent level member was still in there without getting deleted. Then I tried deleting a different parent member and then encountered an error after a while saying -
An error occured while processing the page. Please check the logs for details.* (Can someone please let me know what's the name of the log file that I need to look and where?)
Another time it threw an error -
You are trying to change data that has been changed by a user on another server. Wait a few seconds and try again. If you continue to see this error message please contact your administrator.*
So basically I am seeing all sorts of different things happening and the deletion process is not going smoothly.
Please share your thoughts on this.

Depeding upon your version the log file location will vary.
in 11.1.2.x version you can check the logs under

you can also mention an operation with outline load to delete (update which will update the members, delete level 0, delete idescendants, delete descendants)

Did you delete the files from your Remote server?
Deleting the local site folder or the site definition in DW will have no effect on your remote site.
When I go to your URL, I see the index.html page with 16 code errors and this background image:

So the site is still online until you delete those files from your server.

Geotagged a folder of ~200 photos then accidentally deleted folder. How to recover geotagging data?

I had a folder of around 200 photos that I imported into Lightroom (Version 3.6) and manually geotagged using Lightroom with Jeffrey Friedl's Geoencoding Support Plug-in. This took several hours of work in Google Maps, determining where each photo was taken then individually labeling each photo with the exact GPS coordinates in Lightroom, so it was pretty annoying when I realized that I accidentally deleted that folder earlier this week in an attempt to free up some space on an external hard drive.
I *do* have two back-ups of the same photos that were in that folder, however -- one on another external hard drive and one on a laptop -- but the photos in those folders are untagged and don't have any of the geotagging data that I manually applied to the ones in the other (now deleted) folder in Lightroom.
When I go into Lightroom now and look at Previous Import it shows thumbnails of all the deleted images along with the text "The file named (imagename.jpg) is offline or missing." However, in the Metadata panel on the right under "Geoencoding" I can still see the GPS coordinates I applied to each of the photos. I could individually write down each of those sets of coordinates along with the numbers of the images they belonged to and then manually type in all those coordinates for the 200+ photos in the folder with the untagged photos but it seems like there has to be an easier, faster way to do this. Is there?
Let me reiterate what I'm asking. I have 200 photos in Folder A on one external hard drive and the same exact 200 photos in Folder B on another external hard drive. I manually geotagged all of the photos in Folder A using Lightroom but then accidentally deleted Folder A. I still have all the same photos in Folder B but without the geotagging data. I can still view the geotagging data of the pictures that were in the now-deleted Folder A in Lightroom. Is there any way to transfer that data to the same pictures in Folder B, using Lightroom or any other program?

Outside LR, just copy Folder B back to the same place as Folder A was, and make sure it has the same name as Folder A. That's it. You haven't lost the metadata, including the geotagging info....that's all still in the catalog. But because you've deleted the folder outside Lightroom, you get the "File is offline or missing" messages (in fact if you look in the Folders Panel you should see Folder A listed also with a '?' mark).....so just putting the folder back in place should fix the issue.

Deleted folder mystery what happend and where is it now

I have a mail folder that has messages inside and a sub folder with messages inside that. For clarity I will call it Folder 1 and subfolder 1.
I was renaming folder 1 and got a message that there was an error:
ERROR Mail was unable to rename "~/Library/Mail/....."
It did however create a new folder(i will call folder 2) with the new name, and the subfolder (subfolder 2) with the same name as before, but is was not the same color blue as the others, more like white in color.
I deleted folder 2 (and got the warning message) but it not only deleted folder 2 and subfolder 2, but also deleted subfolder 1.
I would love to know why this happened, but more importantly, where is subfolder 1?
I am hesitant to go restoring anything for fear that I will lose or overwrite data.
I did creat a mac backup of my mail and settings last friday, but I have never needed to restore before and am not sure what will happen to new mail reeived since the backup.
ANy thoughts?

My guess is that Folder 1 was seen as a white folder Icon in the Sidebar, before and after subfolder 1 went missing. As a white folder, Mail could see the items apparently still contained within it. Recreating the subfolder somehow allowed the display of content from the Messages folder, that apparently survived the previous delete operation. We would have been able to go into the Finder and see this, I think, but I also think you are very lucky.

Terminal locks up trying to delete folder

I deleted a folder. Since it entered the trash, whenever I try to empty the trash, it stops responding, won't cancel, and I have to restart Finder (and it doesn't delete the directory). I've tried restarting, repairing permissions, secure delete, forced emptying of the trash, they're not locked, I have permission to write/erase, etc.
In terminal, when I try to delete the folder, I get the same thing - it just hangs with no output - basically no CPU utilization (2-3%).
So I deleted all the contents until I got to these remaining 3 directories & 2 files. They delete in terminal successfully, but still show up in Finder as being in the Trash. Similarly, all the other contents in the Trash delete fine in Terminal, but continue to persist in the Trash in Finder. But directory is empty in Terminal with the exception of this one, evil folder.
Any ideas?

nm, figured it out - had to boot into the backup disc and perform a formal disk repair, fixed everything.

Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
1. See Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks' Storage Display.
2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.
You need at least 12 GBs of free space to install Mavericks plus another 6 GBs for the download.
Select your HDD icon. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the upper most panel you will see the information displayed: Capacity, Available, and Used. You want to know what's Available.

I have tried to consolidate all my music files to my Itunes Media folder but it is still missing quite a few files. How can I fix this?

I went through the organize library option and consolidated the files to the itunes media folder, but when i checked the folder it was missing many files still. Just to clarify ... you still have media files that are linked correctly from iTunes (i.e., right-click > Get Info, File tab shows the correct location), but these have not been moved to the "expected" location - assuming your iTunes folder is in the default place - C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\artist_name\album_title - correct?
There are a couple of other scenarios in which iTunes may not be able to complete the consolidation process:
Some folders in the iTunes Media hierarchy might be set to read-only - to fix this, right-click on your iTunes Media folder in Windows Explorer and select Properties. On the General tab there's a check box labeled "Read-only" - click the box so that the flag is unchecked and the box is white. Click OK, and then OK again when the "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files" option selected.
Windows permissions issues are preventing iTunes from moving your media files (there's some anecdotal evidence of a change in this behavior in iTunes 12). See turingtest2's notes on Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows for advice on fixing this.
Then try the consolidation process again ... if it still doesn't work as expected we'll need to dive further into details of how your media is currently organized and how the non-moving items appear in iTunes.

I assume you are talking about iTunes on your computer, if so, you will have to remove all Apple programs associated with iTunes:
iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Make sure everything that is by Apple is removed including Safari. You can sort by "Publisher", when you uninstall programs. Make sure you have at least one other web browser (like Firefox or Internet Explorer) before removing Safari. That way you can go back to the Apple web site and redownload iTunes later.
Reboot the computer then reinstall iTunes. Everything should work normally.

No don't restore your iphone. I've done that several times & it has never worked. -I still have deleted contacts in my iphone texts. *However if you do restore it you will not lose all your data, pics, text messages etc if you backup in iCloud. It restores back to original phone. Very nice :). Anyhowwww....
I JUST figured it out!! :))). Remove the contact from recents.
Start a text. You should see the deleted contact. All the way to the right of the name is a symbol. The symbol is a circle with "i" in the middle. Click that symbol then in red lettering click "remove from recents".

There are songs on my icloud that I deleted from my itunes, but still show up on icloud. I want to delete them from icloud, but can't since they don't appear in my itunes!

I have a large library on icloud- 26203 songs is the count when I'm playing over my apple TV, but my itunes only shows 25989 songs. No. It's on and I update it daily.
When I talk about removing songs from my shuffle play, I'm referring to listening over apple TV. My cloud limit is nearly maxed out, so I am constantly removing/adding songs. That's why I was surprised when I went to delete a song I no longer wanted in the mix and was surprised to find it already deleted from my itunes, but still present in the cloud. I've signed in and out of itunes/and match on apple tv as well, but that didn't remove the tunes in question!
