Deleted Inbox By Accident -- need mail back

hi,
I recently switched my web provider and went into mac mail to switch the account. I deleted the old email account and created a new one. However, when I deleted the old one from my preferences it wiped out all of my emails associated with it in my inbox. How can I get these back? I assume they're stored somewhere in my computer. All archived mail is still there, it was only the active folders like Inbox and Trash that got wiped out.

If the old account was IMAP and you still have login access, the mail is probably still on the IMAP server. Recreate the old account in Mail and it will sync itself with the server. Then drag-and-drop all the old messages to the new account's inbox. If the old account was POP, or you no longer have login access to the old account, that's bad news.

Not Really, you could forward them to your account, after you've told your mail program not to delete the emails at all, but they will show up as being from you instead of the original sender. The originals at Yahoo have been dumped and probably purged. It would take an IT manager at Yahoo to manually replace the emails, not much chance of that.
I've already asked yahoo to "restore" my inbox to a day ago. That should help me with retrieving some of the messages back, I hope.

The sync feature refers to IMAP email accounts like .Mac or .Me or an Imap gmail account. I didn't think Yahoo offered IMAP email accounts.
Apple's MobileMe membership will let you sync your Mail, AddressBook, Calender, personal website with iWeb, etc.

I wanted to use Mac Mail, see if I liked it or not, then decide to get a MobileMe account. However, this is still a side note, since my yahoo account is my main email client.
You seem to be very well informed, and I was wondering if I can ask you to clarify a point for me. Do you know how to archive the inbox in the Mac Mail?

How do i restore deleted email messages from mac mail back to hotmail server?

i have a hotmail email address i use, i have been using mac lion mail
here the problem - i found loads of my emails missing when using hotmail webpage
but in MacMail they are all there still.
i found that in macmail settings "remove copy from server after retrieving a message" was selected(after one week). (now i have disabled this function)
how can i send them back to the hotmail server email box?

I do not know if you can unfortunately, having deleted them from the POP server and as Hotmail does not offer an iMap or Exchange solution for OSX they may be 'marooned'
I will search around and see if I can find a solution.
But before anything else happens backup your mail (Mailbox Menu>Export Mailbox) and save the file somewhere you can find it, you probably don't need to hear this but you should be (have been) backing up regularly, for this and many other reasons.
I'll post back if I can find a solution to the issue.

Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library/Application Support/AddressBook. That is the folder you want to restore from your backup.

Mail in Lion - Deleted Plug-In... need it back :(

Hello! I have a Macbook Pro running osx Lion and i was having issues with Growl Mail so i tryed to delete the plug in but ended up delted something about the attachments and now i get a missing plug in notice. I tried to go into my trash but i emptyed it awhile ago before i noticed the issue after i deleted it. Is it possible to redownloed it? Thanks!

Deleted what plugin? Growl? There's no such plugin in my copy of Mail. Growl is third-party software and not required for normal functioning of Mail. The only thing in that folder on my machine is MailWebPlugin.webplugin.
I think you have damaged Mail and need to reinstall it. I'm not quite sure how that is done in Lion, though. Boot into recovery mode (hold down command-R at startup) and see what kind of reinstallation options there are.

I deleted Imovie And I NEED IT BACK NOW!

Did you just drag it out of the dock? If yes, then it is not deleted. Also, it might be in the trash. The trash is located on the right side of the dock. Click to open it and then drag iMovie back into the applications folder.
Try opening iMovie in any of the following ways:
Launch the iMovie application in any of the following ways:
Type the first few letters of its name into Spotlight. Select it from the results.
Go Finder > Applications > iMovie
Go Launchpad > iMovie

If you have a backup in iTunes or iCloud of when you had the messages on there, you can restore that back up back on to get them back. Keep in mind that it will replace what you have on your iPhone with the data that is in that back up.

Deleted icloud backup and need it back

Today I had to get my software reset or restored by Apple because it was telling me my battery was much lower than it actually was. I was in a rush and could restore my previous backup (from a week ago) in the store and decided to do it at my hotel later. Long story short, I accidentally backed up my phone with nothing on it, trying to undo this i erased the phone. Then when going to set up the phone again looked to see NO BACKUPS even though i am 100% positive I had one from a week ago because the man who helped me in the Apple store told me and I checked. Please help me find this backup! The other option would be to back up my phone from 2013 which is not helpful at all. Thanks.

If you really accidentally deleted good backup, try not to do that anymore. There is no way to help you, sorry. You should be able to see all your backups to icloud when you go to settings, icloud, storage and manage storage.

Acrobat XI deleted Acrobat X, I need it back.

I installed Acrobat XI and it deleted the previous version I'd bought a CS6 app, unlike the other components (InDesign, Illustrator). As I did a download of that I guess I need another installer for whenever I decide to turn off the CC apps on this machine. The Acrobat installer didn't ask, it just deleted it. Any suggestions? I had several plugins installed for X so those are screwed too.

I deleted some bookmarks and when I go into Time Machine there is no user/library/safari/bookmarks.plist. So I got out of Time Machine and went and searched for that file and it isn't even on my machine! It's completely gone. help!

In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder from the menu bar, copy the text on the line below into the box that opens, and press return:
~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
A folder should open with an item selected. Enter Time Machine and scroll back to the snapshot you want to restore from. Click Restore. Confirm.

When I open Firefox and then hit INBOX to see all e-mails in my inbox and then when I have read those I open the subject matter of each e-mail appears opposite the INBOX and in order to delete all of these e-mails I have to click on every one individually to delete them. Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

How do I permanently delete email messages from my Mail inbox?

Ever since I migrated from Mobile Me to iCloud, I can't seem to delete messages from my MacBook Mail inbox. They just reappear seconds later. What do I need to do to delete them permanently? I've tried looking in the settings, preferences, accounts, etc. I've also made sure to select the "hide deleted messages" from the View tab. Please help! I am sure that there is a simple solution. They are also staying on my iPhone and iPad.

Settings > General > Spotlight Search > Uncheck Messages
It's that or Restore the device as New with iTunes

I am soooooooooooo confused now. Ok, if you are having problems with Yahoo Mail and Gmail but you do not use Apple's Mail you need to do the following:
1 - Post in Yahoo's Mail forums and/or contact their tech support.
2 - Post in Gmails forums and/or contact their tech support.
Neither of the above are Apple's products.

Move deleted messages to a separate folder unchecked
Well, that’s the reason you don’t have a Trash can now. Deleted messages are being left in their mailbox instead of moved to the Trash, so there is no need for a Trash.
Before turning that setting back ON, you may want do do View > Show Deleted Messages, in case there is any deleted message that you want to undelete -- turning the setting back ON will cause those messages to be permanently erased.
BTW, why does your profile say Mac OS X 10.3.9 in some of your posts and Mac OS X 10.4.8 in others?
