Deleted Iphoto application by mistake

I deleted the Iphoto application by mistake & I need help on how to reinstall it.
I purchased the Macbook in April 09 with Ilife 09 preinstalled. Hence I do not have any Ilife CD.
Also, the only 2 disks that came with the macbook are :
1) Macbook - Application install DVD &
2) Macbook - Mac OS X Install DVD
Neither of them seems to have the Iphoto application.
Thankfully my photo library is still there. (I can see it as a package file)
Pls assist
Rgds

Backup your user file folders to a external drive and disconnect.
Make sure you have a stable, reliable, fast Internet connection, use Ethernet cable if possible.
Hold Command R and boot from the Lion Recovery Partition, get online in the upper right corner, reinstall Lion, it will simply install Lion again and your bundled programs without touching your files or most all third party programs.

  • Iphoto application deleted

My son deleted Iphoto application by mistake. Anyway I can recover the application?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Re-install it from the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first disk (if there's more than one) and opt to 'Install Bundled Applications Only'.

  • I deleted my iPhoto Application from my MacBook Air by mistake. But I have backup on my TimeMachine. How does it work if I wanna get it back from Time Machine? Is it possible? Thanks.

I've just deleted iPhoto from my applications by mistake on my MacBook Air. But I do have a backup on Time Machine. Can I get it back from there? How do I do it? Thanks.

Do you still have iPhoto in your Trash? Thenopen the Trash, select "iPhoto", ctrl-click, and select "Put Back".
If iPhoto came preinstalled on your mac, or you bought it from the AppStore, it would be easier, to download it again from the AppStore. If you open the AppStore and sign in with your AppleID, click the "Purchased" tab, then you should see iPhoto waiting for you, ready to download. Click the "Install" button.
To restore from TimeMachine, select your Applications folder in the Finder.
Enter Time Machine and go back  in time, to the time before you deleted your iPhoto. select iPhoto and press the restore button.
    Good Luck

  • I had Iphoto 08 and now is gone, I have under applications and is not there. Also most of the pictures are gone. Can you easily delete the application?

I had Iphoto 08 and now is gone, I have looked under applications and is not there. Also most of the pictures are gone. Can you easily delete the application?

    Obviously you can.
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

That's an App Store problem not an iPhoto one. That forum is here

but perhaps you just need to try again later, as the message says.

deleted iphoto by mistake. How i can recover? tx

What system and iPhoto version do/did you have?  If it was iPhoto 9.5 then go to the App Store and download it again.
If it was iPhoto 9.4.3 or earlier you'll have to install it from the disks that came with your MacBook Pro or and iLife disk, whichever it was installed from originally.

  • Accidentally deleted iPhoto from Applications.  Can't find it anywhere.

I accidentally deleted iPhoto from my Applications; don't know how it happened (my stupidity).  I'm out of town with no access to disks.  Any suggestions?

What is in Receipts is not your application. They're just the receipts. You're meant to delete them if you're re-installing.
If you bought the app on the App Store then you can re-download it from there
If you don't have install disks then your only option is to wait until you get to the disks again or purchase it from the App Store

  • How can I reinstall iphoto for OSX 10.5.8 I had to delete the application

How can I reinstall iphoto for OSX 10.5.8 I had to delete the application, and I can't find how to reinstall

If your computer came with iLife pre-installed, then you will find iPhoto on one of your original installer discs.
If you purchased iLife then you can restore it from the iLife DVD you received.

  • Did I delete my iPhoto application? If so, help please!

I was deleting photos within my 'Pictures' folder subheaded below My Favorites Folders (Applications, Documents, Desktop etc.). After placing these photos in the trash, I went to open my iPhoto application. In summary, now the iPhoto application will not open. I have a feeling this is because I cleared my entire 'Pictures folder' as I moved various items to the trash.
My question is, did I accidentally delete an item that controls my iPhoto application? If so... how do I get my photos within the iPhoto library back/ make iPhoto work just as it had prior to my trash craze of documents.
Summary: iPhoto continues to display on my dock. Although when I click on the application, it bobbles up and down and never opens. At one point an item popped up on my screen asking me which library I would like to use to open the application and if I would like to upgrade my iPhoto. I have no idea what any of this means.
I am currently using iPhoto version 9.2.3, copyright 2002-2012 on my Mac Pro.
please help! and any advice is greatly appreciated!

At one point an item popped up on my screen asking me which library I would like to use to open the application and if I would like to upgrade my iPhoto.
The first part means iPhoto can't find it's library - which would seem to be becuase you deleted it from the Pictures Folder.
The second part means that there are updates for iPhoto available and you should run software update.

  • I have deleted iPhoto from my MacBook Air. When I try to reinstall it, itunes tries to charge me. Is there a way to reinstall the old version for free?

I have deleted iPhoto from my MacBook Air. When I try to reinstall it, itunes tries to charge me. Is there a way to reinstall the old version for free?

depening on what OS you're running you should be able to reinstall it without charge since it's part of the operating system. if running 10.6.8 or earlier you will need to use the applications install disc if there is one or if you only have one disc you can put it in and do a reinstall of the OS which will put the iphoto back on. if running 10.7 or 10.8 can sign into the app store w/ the same apple id that is associated w/ the mac and it should show in your purchases for you to reinstall it. you may need to click on the accept button if it appears next to the iphoto in your purchase listing.

  • My iphoto library has become unreadable. I am wondering if I shoudl delete iphoto and reinstall? Can I download iphoto from the web? I bought my computer in February of this year. Do I have to buy a new copy of iphoto?

My iphoto library has become unreadable. I am wondering if I shoudl delete iphoto and reinstall? Can I download iphoto from the web? I bought my computer in February of this year. Do I have to buy a new copy?

It's probably the library that's the prolem and not the application. Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you can create and open a new library then your existing library is damaged.
If that's the case, Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • I deleted iphoto app.how do i download new iphoto

all of my applications have been deleted, system preferences is gone too ,i have downloaded Safari and itunes. i need iphoto my installation disc is not appearing any wehere on my screen, help!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If you have deleted iPhoto, you have to reinstall it. If your Mac came with DVDs, insert the Applications DVD or the Mac OS X Install Disc 2, and install iPhoto. After installing it, open  > Software Update to install the most recent version. If you haven't got the DVDs, call Apple to get replacement DVDs > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
If your Mac didn't come with DVDs or you purchased iPhoto from the App Store, open App Store > Purchases, and download iPhoto for free

  • I accidentally deleted iPhoto from my mac. how can i get my photos back?

I deleted my iphoto aplication and tried to search in in the trash but it isnt coming up. Is there a way I can redownload it and still get all my photos back?

If you just deleted the iPhoto application, you can reload it from the original source normally, but should back your library up.
If you deleted the iPhoto library, you need to restore it from a backup or undelete it; if you choose to attempt to undelete it, don't write any more data to the computer until you do.
