Deleted iPhoto events download to iPhone

I sync my photos on my iPad and iPhone through iTunes. I select to sync the last 20 events but I have old events from iPhoto showing up in iTunes that I cannot delete. These are random photos that I do not have an event for in iPhoto, they are grouped by the date that they were taken. I assume that my photo stream automatically imported them into my iPhoto, and I subsequently deleted them. I have tried to find the photos on my computer but have been unsuccessful. I deleted the ipod photo cache file under the iphoto library package, clicked on all 4 options when using "control + option" to open iPhoto. I'm at a loss as to how to get these old events from showing up and syncing to my iPad and iPhone.

Either you need to repair your iPhoto Library, or iTunes is using a different iPhoto Library than you checked. Where i your current iPhoto Library stored? In your Pictures folder or on an external drive? Do you have a second iPhoto Library somewhere on your Mac or on an external drive? Maybe a connected backup drive?
If you have nowhere a second iPhoto Library, try the iPhoto Library First Aid Tools.
But, make a backup of your iPhoto Library, before you proceed.
Which version of iPhoto do you have? In iPhoto '11 do the following:
To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the options-command keys ⌥⌘ while double clicking your iPhoto Library.
Keep the keys held down firmly until the First Aid panel appears.
Then select "Rebuild database" from the First Aid pane.
The may take a while for a large library. Run also the "Repair permissions" option.

Set up the events as albums on your Mac Pro in iPhoto. Then use iTunes to sync your iPad.
Start iTunes on your Mac Pro. Connect your iPad and select it in the left sidebar. If you do not see a left sidebar use the View menu to View Sidebar.
Once you select your iPad look in the right window and find the Photos tab. Select the album or albums you want copied from iPhoto on your Mac Pro to your iPad. Then click on Apply.

there is a way to do it. you didnt say if the two librarys were on two different computers i am supposing this is the case. In itunes on both computers go to itunes preferences there you will see where the music is stored not this location for the future.
Check is the copy files to itunes media folder is checked.
Go find that folder and see if all your music is in there if so then you can copy the folder or move it to an external hard drive.
Then go to he computer that you want all the music on and simply copy all the music files in there. Try one folder at a time so copy in say the Bob Dylan folder and see if it all works in itunes.
Obviously itunes needs to be closed when you are copying the folders over. If it doesnt immediately show up on the itunes simply choose file add to library and just go back to the folder and choose the one you want to add.
You may end up with a few duplicates if so choose show duplicates and choose which ones to delete. You may also get some files with the itunes numbering in the title you can right click and on a mac choose get info and change the name or rename in windows. I did this its a bit of stuffing around.
I would say in hindsight, one folder for all your music, let itunes copy it all over and keep adding to the original folder and back it up. If disaster ever strikes all you do is set up your new computer with fresh itunes and point itunes at your music folder and it will copy them all over again.

Hello, flowerpet1. Thank you for your reply. Interestingly, your instructions worked on my iPad Mini, where I had the same problem. The update module was listed under "Usage" and I was able to delete it. Although I still have the red circle with "1" in it over my Settings icon on the home page, the status under Software Update is now "Download and Install" instead of just "Install". Also, the available storage on the Usage screen has increased by about 4.2 GB.
On my iPhone 5S, however, I'm not quite sure what the situation is now. The IOS 8 update module does not show under "Usage". However, the status under Software Update has also changed to "Download and Install" instead of just "Install"--but without my doing anything to the phone. Maybe the update file was removed from the phone when I removed it from the iPad. I don't remember what the available storage was before, so I don't know if I recouped any space.

i thought i was deleteing an album but actually deleted an event. how can i get it back?

Have you empties the iPhoto trash? If not then you can righ click on the photos there and "put back"
if you have then have you emptied the system trash? If not you can drag them from there to the desktop and import them to iPhoto
If you have emptied both then you need to restore the iPhoto library from your backup from before you made the erroror use data recover software like file salvage

Deleting iPhoto events in iMovie

I do want to delete my iPhoto events / movies from the list in iMovie. For some reason I can only delete events / clips that were imported other than from iPhoto.
Does anyone know how to get rid of them? I checked the filestructure to possibly delete manually, but I cannot pinpoint files in either the iPhoto package (which increased tremondously after the initial import) or other places were these thumbnail files etc. are storted.
Anyone got a hint how to go about?
Note: I am aware that getting into the files manually poses a risk and I do keep backups to restore... in case. So risky hints are also welcome

I am also puzzled by this loss of disk space when iMovie imports iPhoto for the first time. Would also like to reclaim that space back.

How to delete a song downloaded to iPhone?

I downloaded a free album some time ago and later was able to delete all the songs but one from my iPhone. They are no longer on my MacBook either. The deleted songs show up only if I turn on "Show All Music' in my iPhone settings. But one track will not delete. I have tried swiping across it to display the delete button; that doesn't work. I tried resyncing my iPhone and unchecking EVERY SONG, playlist and album in iTunes on my MacBook and every other album deletes. But I cannot get this last song to delete. I'd also like to get rid of those previously downloaded, now deleted, albums altogether; I have no use for them. I've thought about resetting my phone to factory settings, but I don't want to lose all my phone contacts. Any ideas?

IOS 8 was automatically downloaded to my iPhone 5S. I didn't realize that was going to happen (I discovered since that I had automatic downloads set to "yes"). I have not installed the download of IOS 8; and I don't want to, at least not yet. But that install module is taking up several GBs of my memory and I would like to delete it. However, I can't figure out how to do that.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Your iPhoto Library is stored separately from your iPhoto application, therefore reinstalling iPhoto as the error message describes, will not affect your iPhoto Library.

Syncing photos from more than the last 20 iPhoto events?

How can I sync more than the last 20 iPhoto events with my iPhone?
When I select folders instead of events I can get more photos (ex: last 12 months) to my iPhone but at the same time I no longer have access to the "events" view which I use to organize my photos.
Is there a solution to sync/copy more than 20 events to my iPhone?

For whatever the reason, syncing iPhoto Events is limited.
I make use of iPhoto albums in addition to Events - primarily for transferring photos to my iPhone.
