Did you use the finder to delete these photos or did you do it from INSIDE iPhoto?

I deleted songs on my iPod that are till there and won't let me delete the agian. What should I do?

    - Try a reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try syncing with iTunes
    - Restore from backup

  • Deleting items that are no longer on my computer

I've recently installed a new hard drive on my laptop and reinstalled windows. I saved everything from the previous drive..when I installed itunes I am showing duplicates of all songs. I'm thinking there was a setting from my previous drive that was saved but since my songs are now on a d:\ drive instead of the c:\ drive iTunes made an entry from the old drive, then found the songs in the new drive, now there are duplicates. I have over 1000 songs in my list and don't want to delete each entry one by one.
Is there something I can do to eliminate all items from the Music Library that are duplicates and are showing the exclamation icon on the left?
    Thanks for your help
    Glenn

Go to the Music soource of the library and sort by *Date added*. You should find all the ! marks grouped together into the top or bottom half of the list. They don't necessarily show with a ! until you try to access them in some way, e.g click on file with the artwork preview box visible. It doesn't matter as long as you've ordered them correctly. Simply find the first missing track and click on it, scroll down to the last, hold down shift and click on the last of the group selecting all in between. Now press delete. Confirm you want to remove the files from iTunes. If asked whether files should be deleted click cancel and check on your selection process above.
Not all Podcasts reimport properly so you may find the new copies of some of these are in Music or Movies instead of Podcasts. The same may also be true for some TV shows which may show up in Movies. You may need to change the kind of some of the newly imported movies to Music Video then remove any remaining movies, TV Shows & Podcasts with broken links. Any games can be relinked from the Applications source.

  • Hi Apple support, my name is Derek Turner and I have been hacked through a friend's email account and I wish to know if 1. I can clean my email list of names and account with software and 2. How is it possible to delete emails that are still coming back

Hi! My name is Derek Turner and I have been hacked through a friend's email message to me which I opened unsuspecting any danger.  Initially, he sent me an 'attention' or warning email with a link which I tried to open but it could not be opened, so I left it not knowing what it was all about at the time.  Later, I received another email from him (probably the hacker) and opened a 'not very pleasant' web site.  It did not twig with me at the time as I am a bit new to this type of thing but when I mentioned it to my wife she immediately said that I had been 'hacked'.  By this time it was too late, and it infected all my email addresses!  I would be grateful if you may know if there is software that I can use to clean up my email account and if there is anything for iPad minis that can prevent this happening in future? (Malware, Firewall?).  I am also getting emails back that relate to the hacker and I cannot 'delete' them from my iPad, only on my PC!  Any suggestions?
Thank you for your time regarding this matter,
Derek Turner,( a very new iPad mini user!)

    Hi,
I don't think that can be solved by any advice the regular posters could post here.
I would go back to Apple and explain the situation (again).
I would also consider closing the account (Apple rarely seem to do this as accounts are never deleted but just closed).
I understand this may cause issues for things purchased in iTunes and the App Store which my include Restoring the OS at some point.

  • How to restore photos after i tried to delete them, they are still there

I tried to delete some photos to give me room on my start up disc. First I tried saving them to a thumb drive then tried deleting the pix. The photos come up blank but I still see them sometimes. how do I restore them completely.
part 2 what is the best way to store them off the hard drive?

assuming that you deleted them in iPhoto to totally remove them empty the iPhoto trash and then the system trash
to move your entire iPhoto library to an external drive
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
How to restore them - if you deleted tehm in iPhoto open the iPhoto trash and right click on them and restore to library

  • Basic panel disappeared from Develop module.  LR 5.7 Mac OS 10.10.1 Tried control clicking headers of panels that are still there.  Do not get a pop up list.  Can't find way to restore.  What should I do?

Basic panel in the Develop model no longer appears.  Started this afternoon.  Been using LR 5 since it came out.  No problem before today.  Searched forums and did the control click on develop module headers.  Check list doesn't appear.  What do I do next?  I did a Time machine restore but nothing changed.

I have now tried control click, command click, option click and combinations of these on 2 computers running the same lightroom versions, same Mac OS with the same result. No list of develop headers, no way to check/ uncheck.
LR on my MacBook has all the panels.  On my iMac Basic and Split Toning are missing.
The only result of clicking is collapsing or expanding the individual sliders under the headers.
My only thought now is to find the preference files for LR and delete them and see if the missing panels return.  Any other suggestions?

  • Does iWeb delete items that are deleted locally?

If I delete a page or an item on a page in iWeb then publish my site, does iWeb delete the page or item off my iDisk in the web folder?
Just wondering because my used space in the iDisk is greater than the size of my web site locally and can't quite figure out why

No. It doesn't. You have to do this manually thorugh iDisk.

  • Deleted message in Outlook are still there, H2 delete permanently from the computer!

Here is the situation, I have on tow differnt Mac' both running 10.8.6 and Office 2011.
I get a message and I delete it from the inbox (POP accounts with my ISP, on my own domain), and next from the deleted items folder.  so far so good, message (should be) gone forever.
Now if I do a search (via the Mac find function) for the message it shows up as being in:/Users/e/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities/Name of User/Data Records/Messages/0T/0B/0M/13K/x00_13558.olk14Message.  The last item being the message.
I can open it by double clicking and there it is in its full glory. If I do a search within Outlook it shows up but has no folder located to it, so I suppose it 'finds' it in the same folder where the Mac finds it.  Using the find inside Outlook I can find them, delete them again and find them again, etc. Now, not only does this bloat the storage space needed (account now bloated to 1.5 Megabite), but it is also unpleasant (security) to know that they are still there!  After all why otherwise delete anything?
First question is, is this normal, and the second question is, how to set Outlook up that it removes these messages permanently?
I had  a thread about this in the MS Outlook forum but had no luck there.  http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macoutlook/deleted-me ssage-are-still-there-how-to-delete/dfad34d7-e8d7-4c0a-8f4e-52e458b43d82 hence posting here.
It be interesting to hear if any of you can recreate the problem, to exclude it being a unique problem on both my machines.
What I did try so far, is:
    - Create new account in Outlook (same problem)
    - Rebuild database
    - Upgrade to latest Outlook version, followed by again
    - Creating a new account in Outlook (same problem)
    - Rebuilding the database
I hope anybody has an idea as to hwo to fix this

    Kurt Lang wrote:
Then that could be a pretty serious security flaw. Deleted items, after a rebuild of the database, should definitely not exist on the drive.
I agree.  That is partly why I am trying to find out what is going on here and if there is a fix.
Just to be sure, where did you find it? Was the old database (with the date tacked on) still on the drive when you searched? If so, that should be where you found it, not in the rebuilt database.
The old one was deleted, and if I search within Outlook it will not search in other Identities.
If I search with the Mac find function I can see they are in the Identitie I am talking about.
Try it out in yours please and let us know if you can recreate the problem.
Here is how I suggest you go about it.  Write a mail to yourself.  Give it a unique title.  Download it.
Now do a search on the tittle in Outlook and in the finder.  both documents should show up.  Now delete them , next delete them from the trash in Outlook.  They should be gone for ever.  Do the search to check if they still are there.  Next follow the suggestion of yourself, and rebuild.  Search again in both outlook and finder.  Are they there?  Mine are.  Love to hear any reports.

  • HT1171 I have the apple wireless key board.  There is only one delete key and it deletes all data to the  left side of the cursor.  Where is the delete function for deleting letters that are on the RIGHT side of the cursor?

I have a new wireless apple keyboard. I can only delete items that are to the left of the cursor using the delete key.  What key do I use to delete items that are to the right side of the cursor?  I have only one delete key.
My old apple wired keyboard has 2 delete keys that enabled me to easly delete data on either side of the cursor.
    Thanks

  • HT204406 One of my playlists is "ineligible" because it supposedly contains items that are not songs.  I unchecked the boxes for those songs, and it's STILL unavailable.  Is there a fix for this?

One of my playlists is marked "ineligible" because it supposedly contains items that are not music.  I went through the playlist and unchecked anything of the sort, and it still says it's ineligible.  Is there another way to fix this?

I have tried all those things I even updated the software to the new iOS system and it still did fix my problem.
What happened is that my garage band looks like it will open then it shuts down.
I have lot of important things on my garage band and I'm afraid that if I uninstall it deleting it then reinstalling it all my work on it will be gone and I can't have that happen.
Everyday I am hoping that when i go to open the app that is will work but it doesn't it gets ready to turn on then it shuts off , the app doesn't even open all the way and turns off.
I really hope I don't have to erase it.
It'll say it's ,lading my songs then it shuts down .
If I waited for the App Store to come up with an update for garage band should I wait till then to update my app so it doesn't get damaged . I don't want to erase it and all my data get erased . I figured if I wait for an update then my garage band will reset itself but won't delete my data. I'm not sure if that will help. Is there anything you or anyone else might know that can help me with this matter ?
    Thank you

  • HT1349 Apparently you can have 5 computers registered for iTunes.  I have 3 active computers but I guess I have other computers that are still activated that I no longer use.  Is there a way to delete or see what the others are?  Please help!

Apparently you can have 5 computers registered for iTunes.  I have 3 active computers but I guess I have other computers that are still activated that I no longer use and I no longer have as they crashed.  Is there a way to delete or see what the other computers are so that I can go in and delete them?  I've tried to email Apple directly but apparently I need my hardware # and obviously I do not have that # since I don't have the equipment any longer.  Any help is greatly appreicated.  I am trying to add another computer and it won't allow me to as they say I'm at my limit.  Please help!

    Sure.
Just open up iTunes on your computer -> Go to the iTunes Store -> Click your e- maill address (top right corner of the window) -> Type in your password for your Apple ID -> Under Computer Authorisations (underneath your Apple ID account balance and address) -> Press 'Deauthorise All'
-> This will deauthorise all computers and devices from your iTunes account -> you then need to re- authorise any computers/ devices you would like to use with your Apple ID for iTunes content -> to do this, select the Store tab along the menu at the top (where 'File', 'Edit', 'View' etc..... are) -> Then click 'Authorise this Computer' -> Type in your Apple ID -> Voila!
For any iOS devices (non- computers) you wish to re- authorise, these will automatically do so when you go to play iTunes content, download an app or anything like that on those devices!
    Hope this helps!

  • When I try to delete message threads on my iPhone 5, the message app won't work until I restart my phone. Once it restarts, the message threads that I tried to delete are still there. Any advice?

When I try to delete message threads on my iPhone 5, the message app won't work until I restart my phone. Once it restarts, the message threads that I tried to delete are still there. Any advice?

I recently spoke to someone from Apple support, and here's what I gathered:
"Older" phones (read: anything iPhone 4s or older?) sometimes have trouble keeping up with the processing demands of the newest software. When deleting threads with a lot of media (photos, videos, etc), it can take a lot of processing to successfully delete. What this support tech suggested was picking some of the bigger threads at night before you go to bed, deleting them, and then leaving the phone alone-- and plugged in-- overnight to give it enough time to delete everything. He suggested not even pressing the lock button; just leave it to process (though I imagine the screen will lock on its own anyway).
Not sure if it works yet since I just spoke to him, but it's the closest thing I've got to a solution!

  • PH2668 I have delete some contact that i dont need anymore. but when i send a text they are still there. how do i delete them

I have delete contact out of my phone. but when i send a text they are still there. how do i delete them

I'm a bit confused by your post.
When you delete a contact, I assume it is no longer listed in the Contacts app, right?
When a send a text, what exactly do you mean "they are still there"?  Can you then go back into contacts and find the contact listed again?
Are you syncing contacts via icloud to several devices that you own?

  • I recently purchased a song and my entire song library was deleted after it downloaded. The photos and aps are still there, but no tunes. Anyone know how to fix this? I have songs loaded on the ipod that I don't want to loose and they are not in MY itunes

I recently purchased a song from itunes and when the song downloaded, it deleted/removed my entire song library. Only leaving the one song.
My photos and aps are still there, but no songs. Anyone ever encounter this and how do you fix it? I  don't want to loose my songs as some are not in MY itunes library. Help

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.
