Deleted iTunes Match songs always reappear

I have deleted several thousands of songs stored in my iTunes Match.
I did it 999 songs at a time.
But, the 1500 remaining songs are impossible to delete.
I refreshed the iTunes Match.
I also waited several hours to let Apple servers sync.
But these songs always reappear!
I have the same phenomenon with the lists and smart lists.

Hi,
This is the support item from Apple iTunes Store: How to delete songs from iCloud. This has always worked for me.
Do you select "update iTunes match" when you delete the tracks? There is no need to do this!

  • When I delete itunes match song from itunes, download icon is greyed out

Now that my songs are in the cloud, I want to delete my ripped version and download the iTunes Match version, but I can't see how since the download icon is greyed out. Anybody know how? Thanks!

The first thing to keep in mind is that not every track will be "matched." Some will be "uploaded." You need to enable the iCloud Status column in the iTunes browser to see what the track's status are. Switch to Song view and pull down View > View Options. Select "iCloud Status" then close the window. Now you will be able to see the status of the songs. Tracks with a status of "uploaded" are the exact same tracks that were on your computer.
If the streams are greyed out that generally means iTunes can not connect to the cloud. Look next to Music and see if the cloud icon is solid. If it is not quit iTunes, wait a few seconds, the relaunch it. This should re-establish the connection to the cloud and you will be able to download the tracks.

  • Only half of some iTunes Matched songs on my iPhone will play, then audio skips to next song in playlist!

Several (maybe 5%) of iTunes Matched songs on my iPhone do this... at EXACTLY 1/2 way through the song.
EXAMPLE: At 2:25 of a 4:50 long song (Shania Twain - From This Moment) the next song in playlist (Taylor Swift - Tim McGraw) starts as the audio skips to beginning of next song in playlist.  Oddly, Shania's attractive album artwork and title stays up while Taylor's tune plays (?)
When the timeline for the first Shania song hits the end, the artwork slides to Taylor Swift's CD Cover art and the timer slider adjusts to near the end of that song.
When I play same songs on the same playlist on iTunes (also downloaded from iTunes Match) this does not occur.
Does anyone else see this happen or are there any suggestions?
    THANKS
    geo

Hey Guys, from my late model iPhone 4, I am also seeing my iTunes Match songs terminate playing very abruptly ...some won't play at all ...others skip to the next track after 10 seconds.
I checked the source files on my iMAC, and they are 100 percent perfect.
Tried deleting them, recreating them, signing out and then back into iTunes with Match On & Off, etc ...still no resolution to these problems.
Maybe the MATCH product is crashing under it's own weight now?   It used to be good, but now I am not so sure anymore.
Please post if you have any solution or suggestions.
    Thanks!

  • How do you stop downloading itunes match songs to iphone 5

How do you stop downloading itunes match songs to iphone 5?
Cell data is turned off but it is still downloading.

When you initially enable iTunes Match on any iDevice it is wise to let it operate for a good period docked or with good WiFi.
Best route to stop it if essential is to switch off iTunes Match.

  • Will I lose my iTunes Matched song copies in the Cloud if I do not renew my iTunes Match subscritption?

  • Hello, my iTunes dates are crashed on my mac, how can I download all my itunes match songs and save on my mac?

Hello, my iTunes dates are crashed on my mac, how can I download all my itunes match songs and save on my mac?

    Hi mrmoo13!
You have a couple of options for transferring your music library from one computer to another. First, you can download all of your music that is stored in the cloud on iTunes Match by following the instructions on this page:
iTunes 11 for Mac: Access all your music anytime, anywhere with iTunes Match
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12284
You can follow steps listed in the section right here:
Play or download songs from iCloud
You can play songs directly from iCloud, or you can download songs so you can play them when you’re not connected to the Internet.
If a song is available in iCloud, it has a Download button next to it.
To play the song, double-click it.
To download the song, click the Download button.
After you download a song to a computer, it remains in the computer’s iTunes library, even if you turn off iTunes Match.
To only display downloaded songs in your iTunes library, choose View > Hide Music in the Cloud. This also hides any previous iTunes Store purchases you haven’t downloaded.
For information about downloading and playing songs on an iOS device, see the documentation for the device.
In order to make it easier to download all of your music, you can highlight all of the songs in your iTunes Match section and then click download, as mentioned in these instructions.
You can also choose to transfer the music from your old computer to the new one by following the steps in this article, whcih will give you some other options for doing this transfer:

Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • AppleTV home sharing, I can't see my itunes match songs

I am using a new Apple TV. I set up home sharing, but I am unable to see my itunes match songs. I used my wifes itunes account for the apple TV. I am using my account for the home sharing. I have an itunes match account with a large library. I though that I would be able to use home sharing to access all of my songs. Now I'm having issues. Please help.

Try Store > Update iTunes Match from iTunes' menu.

  • Undoing iTunes Match songs downloads on my iPhone?

I have over 48,000 songs in iTunes Match.
All of my songs showing on my iPad are in the iCloud. But some of my iTunes Match songs on my iPhone are downloaded onto my phone and I don't want them to be.
How do I reverse them into just being in the iCloud?

That approach works when I am loading new music.
I have found it doesn't work for music that has been loaded much earlier in time. For those songs, the swiping my finger to the left approach doesn't work.
I noticed recently that sometimes the songs that appear to be downloaded on my phone - that show no cloud by them - will subsequently show a cloud, which might mean that they actually aren't downloaded on my phone but something isn't working or efficient with iTunes Match.
Has anyone had that happen to them? Are some of my issues potentially due to the number of songs I have on iTunes Match?

  • Can not download iTunes Match songs on my Mac. iPhone, iPad work fine.

I can not download iTunes Match songs on my Mac. It gives an error stating that only one Apple ID can be used at a time with iTunes Match and asks me to wait 72 days until I can download any songs!? Tried to turn off iTunes Match in an attempt to reset it. And now I can't turn it back on. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm pretty sure the songs will need to be physically present on the computer you are syncing the Nano with, but I'm not 100% sure.
Edit: I just attempted to sync music that I have stored in the iCloud, but not written on my harddrive to an iPod Classic and it only syncs the music that is present on the computer. I tried to grab a few iCloud file and throw it on the iPod, but I had to download them before it would work.
So, yes. You do have to have the files already downloaded to sync to a non iOS 5 iDevice.

  • Activated iTunes Match, songs on iPod that were not in computer library deleted

A few days ago I activated iTunes match on my iPod touch, iPhone 4s, iPad and my computer. I wasn't exactly sure of the full potential of iTunes match and was hoping for an easy way to get all of my music onto my new iPad. I have synced music to my iPod over the years using various people's iTunes libraries and therefore do not have all of the songs that were originally on my iPod, in my iTunes library on my computer. Activating iTunes Match has since physically deleted these songs which were not on both devices from my iPod. The songs appear to be present, as I can see them within playlists and such, but I am unable to play them when selected.
Is there a way to restore the songs I originally had back onto my iPod or is it a lost cause?

    Unfortunately the music is gone.
iTunes Match does not scan an iOS device. Any music that is on an iOS device, but not in an iTunes library which means it won't be in the cloud after iTM finishes the scan, match and upload process, is deleted.

  • Deleted iTunes Match Content Reappers

I am really at a loss of words at how poor the iTunes Match service has become with every "new and improved" version of iTunes.  Right now, any songs that I have in iTunes Match cannot be changed or deleted.  If I change the song/album Metadata in iTunes on my Mac, when iTunes Match automatically updates, all of the changes I made revert back to the original data.  If I delete an album, it reappears during the next automatic iTunes Match update.  I cannot figure this issue out for the life me.  Apple Support is not much help either.  I am aggravated and about to swear off all Apple products...  Has anyone come across this issue and found a solution?  It's been going on for the past 2-3 months.  Thanks for the help.

Is this on an album you have purchased through iTunes or on an album you added yourself?
I think what jimzgoldfinch was stating is:
Add yourself: Normal right click delete and delete from cloud "SHOULD" work.
Purchase through iTunes: If you delete and delete from cloud, any time Apple re-syncs your "purchased" items it will dump it back in.  So he was saying to go Previous Purchases in the iTunes Store where you should be able to remove it from there so it hides it from the re-sync list.
Basically if you bought it from Apple they think you always want it and will shove it back into your library.
Now if it's something you added yourself, you might make sure you haven't downloaded it to another device from the cloud, because it will see it on the other device and re-upload it as well.  I've had this happen since I have both a MacBook and Windows iTunes.  I downloaded it on both, deleted from MacBook and cloud, but then once my Windows machine updated it's iTunes Match...it added it back in.  I had to remove it from both computers and iPhones to make sure it wasn't just sitting somewhere to be matched again.
    Hope this helps

  • Is there a way to not show iTunes Match songs?

Hy, I'm thinking of purchasing iTunes Match to make it a bit easier to share our different libraries. I have read the issues about about multiple apple ID's etc. My main issue however is that I take great care to have an organised Library with correct metadata (names, album art, etc). My family however does not and apart from when I want to download a certain song from them I really don't want to have their whole "messed up" library to show up. Is there a way to do that? I'm okay with activating and deactivating it but I've also read that some people had some problems with that and had to wait 90 days before they could reactivate the account.
So to recapitulate what would you suggest to share music without having other peoples library's messing mine up?
P.S. I use Homesharing when I can but I'm a student so I'm not always home and my father works abroad and it would be nice to have all time access to everybody's music.

iTunes Match is associated with one Apple ID and regional iTunes Store. There is no sharing of the service across Apple IDs. So if you purchase the service for one Apple ID everyone who wants to use it must then use that Apple ID.
As to your question about ID3 tags, iTunes Match does not "clean up" ID3 tags. The tags in the library are untouched.

  • After turning on iTunes Match, songs in playlist are in the wrong order across all devices.

So in iTunes, my client had several playslists, all with songs in a specific manual order.  None of them are smart playlists.
After iTunes Match was activated, the song order seems to have changed in every playlist and on one iPhone where the same iTunes Match account was also enabled on.
We know they are in a different order as an iPod touch that does NOT have iTunes Match enabled yet still has the original order.
Just wondering what the best way to fix this would be.  Should we manually drag the songs to the right order or is there a simpler way to revert to how they were ? Also would manually moving the update the order across all iTunes Match devices ?

This worked although it was very clumsy (we had almost 3,000 files that had to be deleted and redownloaded. I could not figure out a way to sort all of the 'exclamation points' together so it took an hour or so to scan through the entire library list and delete each file individually and/or in small groups.) The download was very straight forward. In my experience (with iTunes match turned on,) we did NOT loose our playcounts.
Going through all those files I noticed several common themes that may have triggered the problem: 1) multiple artists, 2) special characters in the song title, artist and/or album name - particularly umlauts (we have quite a few german songs in our library.) 3) very long title, artist and/or album names.
I hope that someone from Apple is aware of these issues and working on them....

  • Downloaded iTunes Match Songs cut off halfway?

I'm on iTunes 10.6.3.65 on windows and apple better get this fixed quick coz this is getting on my nerves.
I've downloaded the entire iTunes match library twice and there are still songs that cut off halfway. any fixes for this?
P.S. This doesnt happen to my iphone if i download it right off itunes match, but it happens to my computer and my computer only. i have no idea *** is happening Grrr

    Everyone,
Boy is this a bug, but I fixed it. If you haven't by now, try this.
Select all, Delete, Yes, Keep Files.
Then re-add the same folder to your library.
    Enjoy
Stupid, but it worked for my iTunes files, burned CDs, old mp3s, everything. I'm mostly posting this b/c I didn't find the answer on the several posts I opened and this one is at the top of Google's list.
