Deleted Itunes music

I "mistakenly" deleted music from my itunes library while connected to my ipod which deleted all the songs too. I did recover the songs from the recycle bin, but I can't get them back in the library. Can anyone help me get the songs transferred back. The extension they show in the folder is .itl now. Thanks for any help.
LS

.itl are iTunes Library files . . . playlists and such. Not the music itself. The music files will end in .mp3 and/or .m4p or AAC or . . . yeah.
Have you looked in your "My Music" folder to see if they're still in there and you just deleted the libraries? Sounds likely to me . . . assuming you're using windows, you just go to start-> My Music and then the iTunes folder . . . or wherever you had your music stored to see . . .

  • Deleting itune music selection from iweb site

(New & non techie) iWeb Q: Dragged itunes music sel. onto first page of iwebsite. Gray box that went on top of page then eliminated first-page photo in background. Went through "Inspector", Quick time, but could not get it to work.(song play) Would like to get itunes song OFF of site as it is causing problems. I.e. On all other computers opening my web page, a prompt comes down entitled: "AUTHORIZE COMPUTER which then reads beneath: _"This computer is not authorized to play (the song)" if you purchased in itunes then open itunes and auth this computer to play by entering your apple id and pw"_ and I can't give that out to everyone that uses another computer. (not all my friends want to do this but its also messing up their pc or macs(freezing in some cases until they manage to click out of the AUTH COMP box drop down. My question is: How can I just delete the whole itunes song / quick time prompt from the site... period ...(until I can take a class in how to do this without ruining my site?) One added note: The photo that I REposted covered up the gray box and I can't find it.. (even though I went to top of tool bar and clicked all the "back to front, front to back items...) the one that I originally dragged the song into and while the photo is back,(REposted) there is a Q- time bar at the bottom of the photo (which suggests that the photo is occupying the gray box anyway?? Any help would certainly be appreciated. Sincerely, Eugene PS: if needed: "[email protected]"

Click on the item in the iWeb page until there are four squares in the for corners, i.e. select it, and hit the Delete key.
You can only put none DRM audio tracks on a web page. Any protected file from the iTunes store will not be permitted.

  • Ipod deleted itunes music deleted???

please help....i was tryin to set up my itunes music on my new computer and i plugged in my ipod to transfer the files and now everything is gone???
i have no music on either i pod or my itunes its showing up as empty and purchased items is not even showing...iv lost about 1500 songs please this is urgent
    thanks everyone

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Products may only be downloaded once; after being downloaded, they cannot be replaced if lost for any reason. Once a Product is purchased or rented (as applicable) and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage" iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link you'll be able to email your query: Customer Service - iTunes Store Support
You might also want to check out these pages for future reference:
How to back up your media in iTunes
Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
Pressing "Erase and Sync" when iTunes brings up the dialogue window asking whether you want to replace the songs on your iPod with the songs in this ilibrary does exactly what it says. If you linked to an empty iTunes it will have erased the original contents of your iPod and with nothing to sync will have left it blank. If you have no back-up there are some data recovery programs on the market. I've no personal experience of them so I can't say how effective they are, here's an example: iPod Data Recovery
None of the recovery programs are particularly cheap so you have to decide if in your particular circumstances it's worth it to get your songs back. It may be if you have a lot of purchased tracks and you don't manage to persuade Apple to let you download them again. If they came primarily from your CDs then it's most likely not as you can re-rip them.

  • How do I delete iTunes music off my iPad 2?

I have an iPad 2 running 7.0.3. I need to delete all my songs off my iPad 2 because I recently had a mini stroke and am finding mt iPad 2 more of a necessity every day requiring me to down load more and more apps. I would like to keep my radio stations and one music video movie but the songs must go. In a perfect world, I would have a 64 gig or better iPad to hold my large music library, but, that's not possible at this time. So for now, I will plug my iPod into my surround system and be very grateful for that! My MacBook runs 10.5.8 with iTunes 10.6.?,  I cannot read the last digit because it's a scrolling message and even with my new glasses, I can't tell what it is. But my MacBook will not let me see my iPad upon connection anymore. I used to do all the loading manually so I knew I would make sure I would love what I had on my limited space on the iPad. But I cannot do that now without an upgrade of iTunes on the MacBook but it's maxed out on upgrades. It's pretty old...about 7 years old I guess. But other than this glitch, the MacBook works perfectly fine!! Can anybody help me with this issue??
Thank you in advance!!!! Have a Great Day!!!

A movie you took on the iPad or a movie you synched to your iPad via iTunes?

  • How to recover deleted iTunes music folder

    Hi
I uninstalled iTunes due to performance issues with the intention of using an external hard drive.
Unfortunately I have also deleted the user/music/iTunes folder as well.
It is not in the recycle bin as it was 46gb!
    Can someone please help me?
The laptop is running Vista and I have music on both an iPod Classic and I Phone 4s.
Music is both purchased and cd ripped.
    Many thanks

There are various undelete tools ranging from free, e.g. NtfsUndelete FreeRecover, to expensive which might help depending on how the files/folders were deleted and how much work is involved in recovering them. Either way, the more you do with the drive the less chance they have of being able to recover your data successfully.

Drat, looks like NtfsUndelete was a bait & switch effort, free for a short time to get some favorable write-ups then becoming yet another commercial product with a "Free Download" offer to suck you in.

  • Deleting iTunes music problem

Alright, either I'm missing something very simple or I'm just lost. So I had a ton of music in my library, so I wanted to trim it down, way down. Opened itunes and went artist by artist, moving the music to the trash and deleting it. Finally got down to around 14 gb of music left. I went into the iTunes folder, going through user-->music etc. I check the folder and it says its 60 gb huge. Why is there still so much music there? I want to keep the music that actually shows up in iTunes, but not all that stuff. Thanks for any help in advance!

does anyone know how to delete music files from
iTunes library/computer, without losing the files on
my iPod Shuffle the next time i connect it to my
computer. i know it has something to do with the
syncronizing options, but i just can't figure it out.
i don't want all these music files on my computer
after i have transferred them to my Shuffle.
    thanks
When your Shuffle is connected, in Settings UNcheck "Open this iPod when attached" and click Apply. The NEXT time you connect it, iTunes won't open and you'll be able to charge your Shuffle...

  • I deleted some files from my iTunes music library, how do I get them back?

Hi there, I hope you can help.
I have had an 80Gb iPod for a while now, but it got full, so I was deleting stuff that I didn't listen to very often from my iTunes library as I added new music. However, I kept all the music in my iTunes Music folder.
I have now purchased a 120Gb iPod, but obviously some of my music is only in the iTunes Music folder, but NOT actually in my music library within iTunes. Is there a way to sync the entire library with the new iPod (ie. including all the albums that I deleted from my iTunes library to accommodate new ones), or will I have to manually check my entire iTunes music library against my iTunes Music folder?
In essence, what I want to do is the opposite of consolidating my iTunes music library into my iTunes Music folder - to get all the music in my iTunes Music folder back into the library, without duplicating the stuff that's on there already. I hope that's clear...?
    Best regards,
    Matt.

Try iTunes Folder Watch for rereading the content you deleted, assuming you only removed it from the library, not the media folder. If you deleted the tracks then restore those that remain from the recycle bin first.
When you are finished you should have a new playlist with all the tracks that iTFW found. Rename this Exclude and then create a smart playlist called, say, iPod Music with the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Exclude. This is the playlist you sync with your device, and any time it grows too large just find some more stuff to throw into Exclude.
