Deleted mail contacts keep appearing

I have a contact I no longer use and have deleted it from Contacts on my iMac and iPad, but it still keeps appearing in the To: box when I enter a similar contac, obote the iMac and iPad. How do I completely delete it to prevent this from happening?
Thanks, Simon.

Help me please i am stuck.

There are a few things that you could try. First try turning the account off and on and see if your can then delete them : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app via the taskbar : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
And a fourth option is to try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Then select the account on the right-hand side of that screen, select Account, then Advanced, Deleted Mailbox, and under On The Server tap the 'Trash' folder so that it gets a tick against it - then come out of that series of popups by tapping on the relevant buttons at the top of them and then see if you can delete emails

  • Delete mail contacts?

Anyone know how to delete email contacts that are not in your "contacts" list? Every time I send an email it puts the address in the auto fill. Most are one time mails but when you type say the letter "c" in the "to" field, all these old contacts come up. I'm never going to mail them again. Please help me make them go away!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Kurt

Yes but the great thing about the iPhone is during a sync, it backs everything up on the computer so once you restore it and sync it back, everything should be fine. If you have one or more of these syncs turned off though such as calander, bookmarks, etc. those will not be so I recommend making sure everything is on sync mode, syncing one last time, restore, sync everything back on. That should do it although some minor things such as youtube bookmarks will not be saved (I think). For more info I would call Apple to get all the details and assurance.
Also, I wouldn't restore unless this is really bothering you, but thats just me
    Hope this helps!

  • Deleted mail does not appear in the trash can

When I delete mail from my inbox I can't see it on the Trash "On My Mac". I have set the trash settings to delete everything after one week. Does anyone know why this is happening or how I might be able to fix it.
    Thanks

On the Mac without an account named Trash mailbox for the POP account under Trash in the Mailboxes drawer, is "Move deleted messages to a separate folder" selected under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences?
If so, the account's Trash mailbox is located in the account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) at Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder > Deleted Messages.mbox folder.
Not at Home > Library > Mail > Mailboxes.
The Deleted Messages.mbox folder within the Mailboxes folder represents the "On My Mac" named Trash mailbox under Trash in the mailboxes drawer.

  • Deleted BBM contacts keep re-appearing

Hi! I have 8520/5.0.0.1036 and I recently upgraded my bbm to ver 7.0.1.23. I am from the Philippines and for some strange reason my Display Picture does not update, and the contacts that I deleted keep on re-appearing. And contacts I moved from 'category A' to 'category B' moved back right before my eyes. Please help! Thanks a lot!

  • Contacts keep appearing after deletion

In anticipation of acquiring an iPhone, I'm going to clean up my contacts.
My Palm is the best repository of contacts, happily being the source between iSync and my t610 phone.
But now there's been some duplication and other crap and I want to start over.
OK, turn off sync'ing via .Mac, the t610. Then I removed the contents of the Address book from my user/library/Application support/Address Book/
But a few minutes after opening up Address Book, all these contacts show up.
My question, where are they coming from?
    thanx, sam

It doesn't apply to you then, as SyncServices support was added to a recent update of MS Office 2004.
Apart from that (which I've experienced myself), I can't think of anything else that would be causing your issue.

  • Why do "No Name" contacts keep appearing under the #

At the end of the alphabet on the righthand side of the contacts menu, is a #. Over a period of time, a number of "No Name" contacts appear. Does anyone know why?
There is no problem deleting them, but it is annoying that they keep reappearing.
I have noticed, that sometimes when I open Contacts, the selected contact is in edit mode. Could this have something to do with it?

    Does it still show up?
I have no idea how that could happen exactly except leaving your phone unlocked and finding you accidentally edit contacts in your pocket. I had this happened one time I created a new contact without me knowing until I checked my phone. Always lock your screen before putting it in your pocket.
If it still shows up, you can go to Settings>iCloud>Toggle off and on for Contacts

  • Deleted browse sequence keeps appearing

I deleted the browse sequence of the main project and of the
only sub project. I checked both BRS files: they were empty.
There must be another place where the browse sequence is kept
    and used by Robohelp.
Can anybody tell me in which file?
Earlier, the present main project was the sub project and the
sub project was the main project. The browse sequence that still
appears, is an old BS of the project that originally was the main
    project.

    Hi all
yellowpepper, the browse sequence is only stored in the .BRS
file. As you say it's still appearing, I'm thinking you are
probably seeing an older version of the file. You might wish to run
the errant file and right-click any topic page and look at the
properties. This should show something like:
    mk:@MSITStore:C:\SomeFolder\SomeOtherFolder\FileName.chm::/SomeFolder/SomeTopic.htm
This should tell you where the file you are viewing is
located. I'm betting you find that it's not the file you think it
    may be.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Entire addressbook contacts keep appearing!!!

I'm trying to delete all my contacts in my addressbook. I can delete them but when I close the addressbook and reopen all the contacts are there again. How can I delete them and have them not return. I changed my .mac password so it would not sync. Could this be the problem?
    Thanks

Yes. I have done this many times with Leopard.
I had some issues with the original version of Leopard with Sync just "stopping" unexpectedly. Therefore, I knew the data on my laptop was accurate, so I would force an overwrite of the .Mac data to ensure nothing "weird" would happen when i turned Sync back on....
But the re-registering the sync'd computers has worked for me everytime and is a great way to reset the bridging of multiple computers or just to ensure accuracy of .Mac syncs.....

  • My phone contacts keep appearing and disappearing again!

I have an iPhone 5s currently running on IOS 8.2. Up until 1.30/2pm yesterday it was working completely fine until I tried to add a contact from a group message (which I has been part of for a while now and have never had problems with before) when all the other contacts in the group suddenly stopped showing their names and just showed the numbers. When I went on to the contacts half of them had disappeared, as had all the recent contacts and favourite contacts from my home screen. All my phone messages that used to show the senders names just showed their numbers so I had no idea which messages were from who. After a while they eventually all came back but it proceeded to do this again as soon as I started using it again with them constantly disappearing and reappearing. I tried plugging it in which helped when I first tried but not the second time later on and I tried turning it off and on but the contacts still didn't reappear. What is wrong?? Please help!

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
Are you using iCloud to sync your contacts? If yes, try to switch off syncing in Settings/iCloud, say yes when asked if you want to keep the contact info on the phone, reset the phone, go to Settings/iCloud and active contact syncing again.

  • Apple Mail rules keep reappearing after I deleted them!

I created some rules in Apple Mail to play a bit around but after I deactivated and finally deleted them, they keep appearing and formatting all my mails.
So now I have no rules defined under preferences but they are still somehow active.
How can I remove them completely?

I have this exact same problem. I created a rule for Mail to move e-mails, with some given keywords in them, into the junk folder. Then I removed the rule completely, deleted it. But all incoming e-mail are still moved to the folder. Although I have NO rules left.

  • Empty folder in applications keep appearing

I am using 2014 mid macbook pro running 10.10.1 Yosemite. I've started to experience some weird issue:
A folder in applications menu I've created month ago and then moved all files out of it (it was deleted, I assume) keeps appearing after restart.
If I delete it again it will anyways appear again after I restart my Mac.
Folder was created by me, it was NOT created by any app.
    Screenshot (it's 'Microsoft Office folder):

  • Help! My deleted contacts keep re-appearing...

    Hi,
My brother gave me his BB 8900. I've deleted his contacts every way I know how, and his contacts keep re-appearing on the phone.
    1. I've deleted the contacts through the Desktop software
    2. I've a clean list of my contacts on Gmail and Yahoo address book for syncing.
    3. I've deleted my bro's contacts on the back-up folder contacts.
    4. I've no entries in my SIM Phone Book.
    5. I set the Address Book Wireless Synchronization field to No.
I get to the point where everything looks clean on handheld and phone ... and 30 minutes later the unconnected phone has somehow restored the (600) deleted contacts into the address book
Any idea what I'm missing? Thanks.

Interesting. A clean start could help because I don't know whats causing it.  You've done some good troubleshooting so far.
I recommend wiping the device so you can setup from scratch.  This guarantees nothing from your brothers settings remain.
