Deleted my hosts files. What do I do to put it back?

I just bought this imac used. It had a bunch of Adobe stuff in the terminal hosts. When deleting it, I somehow deleted everything. What do I put back into my hosts?
I accessed with:
$sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
Now it is blank. I'm guessing that is bad. I'm a rookie here.

I would recommend re-installing your operating system. As long as you have a back-up setup. Or you could also attempt to restore from a time machine backup.

I never heard of that problem before. I I can suggest is the stand fixes:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

Oh no, groovejellybeans. I know how important it is to retrieve your files. SIM cards are used for network services and hold a very small amount of data. Do you have a Micro SD card (memory card) in your phone? What steps did you take that deleted your files? Have you checked www.vzw.com/verizoncloud to see if any files were stored there?

Did you delete all of Quicken - the whole folder? Or just the application?
Edit: Did you empty your trash? Do not use the computer for new entries or you may write over your deleted file spaces.
Meanwhile up in the right corner search area , enter: "retrieve deleted files". Lots of help there.

Since update I can no longer play a regular game on Facebook - security block message appears - what can I do to put things back the way they were?

I play Gardens of Time on Facebook. Now, when I try to send or receive gifts a security warning sign comes up saying the site is not encrypted and a third party will be able to read the info and gives you a choice to continue or not. A side note...I have no problem playing mp4 files from internetarchive.org.
QT on windows has no problem playing files if I save them to disk first...although QT plugin crashes all my windows browsers (ffox, ie) and this didn't use to happen.
I can guarantee no changes to my axis video files...haven't touched the camera for years and I have no problem streaming camera directly, although it is probably mjpeg.

If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll.

I recently upgraded to 4.3.3 and since then I've had problems with "No Service" where my AT&T service indicator usually sits.
Since I know that they're just going to restore my device when I take it to the apple store, I decied to start the process myself.
I tried several times but got the "iphone could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build."
Checked around and found that my /etc/hosts file on my mbp had been altered and now included the following:
# Below is to bypass Apple iPhone software
# signature server. For unlocking iPhone
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
I have no idea how this got there! And I am concerned. Anyone have any ideas? Perhaps from some Mac app I downloaded?

1. Click your Finder icon from your dock.
2. Choose "Go" from your top menu and choose "Go To Folder"
3. Type "/etc/" and then click "go"
4. Delete the "hosts" file and reboot the system.
The hosts file will repopulate from system defaults during the reboot process.

Well you can sync your iPod/iPhone to yur computer or laptop then take the photos off of your iPod like taking photos of of a SD card (from a normal camera) or off of a USB..! Good Luck. plz tick this saying This solved my question if it helps you.

If you have been backing up on Timemachine.
All you need to do is enter time machine... Then the rest is obvious.
Find the iTunes folder and hit 'Restor'.
If not the only way to get all your iTunes music back is to enter iTunes Store.
On the right hand side you should see 'Purchased'.
Click 'purchased' and there you have it.

I assume you don't have a backup on an external HD. You always should, because then you could easily fix your problem.

If you have an iTunes backup or iCloud backup containing that note you can restore from that backup.
If you have no backups the note is gone.

You can't. iSync has been discontinued since Mac OS 10.7 Lion. iSync has no connection with iCloud anyway.
