Deleted notes from iCloud - help gratefully received.

When I upgraded my iPad's software this week to the latest iteration, all my notes were deleted from iCloud. I've saved most of them through my time machine, but two from this last week (important work ones) that seem to have gone permanently. Any ideas on how to recover them?

iCloud does not back this data up, it only syncs it between devices. You may get them back by restoring an iOS device to a back up from before the Notes were deleted.
Apple has also messed up restoring Notes through Time Machine on the Mac but it is probably still your best option. Read https://discussions.apple.com/message/19171700#19171700 to locate the folder then open Time Machine. To get into your Library folder you will have to open a Finder window then click the Go menu and press the "Option" key on the keyboard to make "Library" appear.

Help restoring deleted note from iCloud Backup

I desperately need a note I deleted from my iPad. I followed the instructions I found on this forum and others by erasing and restoring yesterday's backup from the iCloud, The problem is that the iPad starts syncing the Notes back with the iCloud before I can get to the restored note. Of course once it syncs, it's deleted again.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And no, this device has never been connected to iTunes.

Is this what you did to restore from iCloud backup? The iCloud backup data should be older than your sync data.
1. Erase all contents and settings

Disappeared a note from my IPHONE. I use the apple app NOTES and one day, I don’t know how, a note was duplicated and automatically deleted another note (bug problem). I really need you to recover the note that was deleted. It was automatically deleted in my ICloud backup too.

If it was an icloud note you can contact Apple and depending on how recently it disappeared they may be able to recover it. If it was a note stored under your email such as yahoo, go to your email provider website and sign in and see if there is a mail folder named notes that you see it in.

You can try restoring the backup to your phone. This may recover your notes if they were on your phone when you last backed up.
Restoring to an iCloud backup requires you to first erase the phone. If you have any more recent data on it that is not contained in the backup, you'll need to save that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup. Be sure it's connected to your wifi and your charger as this may take a while to finish.

Delete contacts from icloud, but not from iphone

I want to delete all my contacts and calendar appointments from iCloud, but not from my iphone, and i still want to have iCloud turned on in the future.
I have tried to delete the iCloud account from my iphone but when i log in to iCloud.com from a computer the contacts are still there even though i deleted the iCloud account.
How do i remove these things only from iCloud?

I fixed it, i had to turn off the syncing of the contacts and the calendar on the phone and then delete them from iCloud. Obviously if i turn on the syncing of these items again the contacts and calendar appointments will reappear in iCloud.
So problem solved.

You can't use iCloud like that. It isn't a general file storage service; it's designed to sync data across your devices.
Some options are to sync all your music or other media off your device, then sync it back on after you update. Another is to import your photos to your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then sync them back to your phone after you update by putting them in a folder, then selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.

Deleting songs from iCloud seems to not be working for me?

I'm having a huge problem currently. I have read the faqs on "How to delete songs from iCloud?" and understand it perfectly. But tonight I'm trying to delete this album out off my computer and it was deleted because I seen the album go straight to the trash. I emptied the trash can and for some reason when I go to click "Update iTunes Match". The album I deleted pops back up via iCloud. Now I then deleted that hoping the songs would delete from the iCloud also. Well loe and behold the songs came back again via iCloud. These aren't purchases made via iTunes. These are songs I've uploaded using a purchased music CD from Best Buy. And they seem to not be able to leave iCloud for some reason. No matter how many times I have to delete them.
Is there any way around this?
I have iTunes Match and I'm using a MacBook Pro (OS Mavericks).

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post it appears that you are both logged in to the same Apple ID in your Messages settings, which would cause you to get the same messages on both devices. If you select "Send & Recieve" in your Messages settings, you will likely see the same Apple ID logged in on both devices.

How do you actually delete stuff from iCloud?

My icloud says it's full, so I've deleted my archive, trash and sent items. That should have freed up at least half of my storage (I deleted it on the Web client and it shows empty folders on my iphone). But my MacBook still shows my storage as full. Help!!

That is how you delete data from iCloud. If your storage is not reflecting the change, the only reason I can think of for this would be iCloud storage buffering (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4873). If that's what's going on, according the the article:
"Your iCloud Storage allocation will readjust itself automatically, but only once another iCloud feature uses the previously allocated space."

Why cant i delete music from icloud

I have music in icloud which i dont want and i cant delete it? when i right click to delete from itunes it say it will be deleted from itunes but not from icloud it will be hidden. If you mean from iTunes Match without having them on your hard drive, then that's because they aren't on your hard drive.

The reason, I included the annotation that I'd upgraded my Itunes, (On my Computer) is B/C in many forums - the very first question, *HELPERS* ask, is. "Do you have the latest version of Itunes downloaded on your computer." I wanted to knock out any obvious replies.

How do I delete songs from iPad without Match deleting them from iCloud?

I've used Match to put a bunch of songs on my 16GB iPad and now I've run out of memory and need to remove some of them. How do I remove them from the iPad without Match automatically deleting them from iCloud and iTunes on my laptop? I only want to take the songs off the iPad.

This is a topic that has been covered in-depth on this forum.
You can delete individual songs by swiping across them and tapping the delete button. Or, in the Artist of Album view tap-n-hold for a second, then tap the "x" in the upper left to delete. Or you can delete all downloaded music by going to Settings > General > Usage, tapping Music, then swiping and tapping the delete button.
This will not remove the music from the cloud or the iTunes library.

Change of functionality in deleting songs from iCloud/iTunes Match with the 11.0.2 version of iTunes?

I updated to iTunes 11.0.2 and this version brought a change of wording regarding deleting songs from iCloud/iTunes Match, and I'd like to know if there are any changes in functionality to match the change in wording:
With version 11.0.2, when I try to delete any song (uploaded, matched or purchased) I'm presented with a pop-up dialog box that asks me if I'm sure and also gives me a "Also hide this song from iCloud?" option.
In prior iTunes versions the pop-up dialog box would ask instead "Also delete this song from iCloud?".
Has the functionality changed? If so, what's the difference in functionality between 11.0.2 and previous versions? If the functionality of deleting songs has changed, how do I delete an uploaded song from both my local library and iCloud/iTunes Match?

I am having the same issue- pelase could anyone help? Mods?
