Deleted old photos from iPod

I just sync'd my Touch and it installed my new pictures but deleted the old ones.  All are still in the same folder in iPhoto I've changed nothing but added the new pictures to the folder.  It did it to both of our iPods.  What's up with that?
Wanted to update, it didn't delete all my old photos just some of them.

Sorry.  They are gone.

I have a 3g iPhone and I need to know how to delete old photos. Need to free up space and there is no clear way to delete these photos!! Can someone please let me know how to get rid of these pictures!!!! Help!!!

There are a number of ways to delete pictures from the Camera Roll.  One is to open Camera Roll in the thumbnail view, tap the arrow button (top right), tap all the pictures you want to delete, tap the Delete button ant the bottom.  Photo Library pictures are deleted by unchecking Sync Photos on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, followed by syncing your phone.

  • How does one delete specific photos from ipod touch 2nd gen (with ios 4.2.1)?

I would like to delete some photos from my ipod touch 2g, ios 4.2.1, but I can't just sync it to my (new) computer because then all of them would get deleted because I don't have the photos that I have on my ipod on my new computer. Help!?
    Thanks

    - You can email the ones you want to retain and the restore the the iPod on the the new computer
    - You can use a third-party like PhoneView or TouchCopy (both paid) and maybe the free
iFunBox for Mac | File Manager, Browser, Explorer, Transferer for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
tio copy them to the computer.

  • Can't delete old photos from iPhone - sync doesn't finish

I don't sync music (iTunes Match instead). I got the iPhone 6 largely to show photos, synced with Aperture. However, there are two kinds of problems: sync no longer finishes, so nothing new is synced to the phone; and I can't delete thousands of photos on my phone from earlier syncs.
I have tried many things that have sometimes worked for other people, including unchecking the Sync Photos box, checking it and syncing with an empty folder or an empty folder with one image, syncing the phone to iPhoto instead of Aperture, syncing with a different computer, resetting the iPhone, and more.
I also Restored the iPhone from a backup, which at first that worked - no old photos on the iPhone. But once I checked the box to sync with Aperture, all the old events and albums reappeared even though they don't match my current Aperture set-up.
When I try to sync, I get messages saying "Waiting for Changes to be Applied" and then eventually "could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish" though sometimes  I've had to just interrupt it.
The bar on the bottom of the iTunes Summary page jumps around from session to session, showing either the number of images I want to sync or a much larger number that probably matches what's actually on the iPhone. But right now the bar in iTunes shows 17.34 GB of photos, with 26 GB Free; on my iPhone, Storage says I have 4.2 GB Photos & Camera; with 38 GB available.
The Other bar in the Summary line has at times been 5 or 6 GB; right now it's showing 256 MB.
    Suggestions?

Mine appear to be on-and-off.  Same with my wife.  Changing PC (or Mac, if you will) or browser doesn't make a difference.
My case is still open - senior advisor verified that his wasn't working either - but no response.
    I guess they're too busy.

  • HT204022 how to delete old photos from photostream on ipad

I have tried to delete my old phots from my photostream but cannot, I went to icloud.com but cannot get to the advanced settings option to turn it off, also when  I go to photostream album and tap edit I do not get the delte option - I have the latest version of software - anyone know how to do this.

I have kinda same problem, can't delete some pictures from photo stream directly from my iPad.
tap edit and can select photo but "Delete" button seems not acceptable.
i can see the delete icon but it's not working....
If i connect to my PC, it preview only 2 photos but iTune shows me number of picture is 48 photos,.
So these 2 photos are able to delete, but other 46 photos are not able to delete.
When open Photo stream, there are three icons on the top middle     Photos - Photo stream - Albums
when i tap "photo", there are only 2 photos (which is deletable)
when i tap "Photo stream", there are no photo display.  (display; New photo will be automatically uploarded and sent to all of your iClioud devices when connected to Wi-fi)
when i tap Albums, there are  2 files "Camera roll" (2 photos) and  "photo stream" (46 photos).
In Camera roll photo can delete.
But ... Photo stream in Album, ... tap edit then can select pictures but there is no icon for delete.
And same as Lafayete, I went to icloud.com but cannot get to the advanced settings option to turn it off, also when  I go to photostream album and tap edit I do not get the delte option
    I need heeeelp   :-(

  • How can I free up space by deleting old photos from i photo? Have deleted files from iPhoto but that does not seem to free space- is it stored at a different site?

Want to free up disk space by deleting photos but unable to do so

    To delete photos from iPhoto:
Drag the image from the iPhoto Library (Either Events or Photos view) to the iPhoto Trash. Empty it. Then empty the system trash as well.
If space is an issue you can run a Library from an external drive:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
Or move part of the Library to an external drive.

  • Why can't I delete old photos from my photo stream that were on my MBP (that I wiped and no longer own)?

There are photos still around on my photostream from my macbook pro. I sold (and wiped clean) the computer months ago. The option to delete the photos is greyed out.  It's not a huge issue, but I have OCD about keeping my photostream cleaned up and there are a multitude of desktop wallpapers and other random things that I can't seem to get rid of. Any ideas? I unregistered my macbook pro when I sold it. Tried logging into icloud.com, iTunes, etc. and there was no photo options in sight.

When the new iCloud Photo Library and its accompanying Photo app for Mac is available, this problem will go away. In the mean time, you have another option. Instead of syncing albums or photos from your photo library onto your device, why not create a shared Photo Stream with the older photos you want to have with you? Those can be deleted as you wish.
Or, as Ralph suggested, if you are planning a trip, remove the excess photos before you leave so you do not run out of room.
    Cheers,

  • How to delete old photos from iWeb in MobileMe

As iWeb 1.1.2 no longer works I need to find another way of editing the old iWeb data I am still paying for on my iDisk.

Ewan ~ To view your iWeb site files on your iDisk go here:
    http://www.me.com/idisk
...Log in and click on the Web folder, then on the Sites folder within that.
If you simply want to delete your whole site, then delete the folder named as your site: Select it and click on the red "Delete" icon in the upper toolbar. (Don't delete the Sites folder itself.)
If you want to edit the HTML, the following is quoted from _this old thread_...
You can use the TextEdit which comes with Mac OS and just make sure in the preferences to make it "Ignore rich text commands in html files", you'll find it in the "Open and Save" tab.
Some on this forum recommend the free TextWrangler for easier editing of HTML files:
    http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/
...Bear in mind that published HTML files are not intended to be edited. People do manage to do it, but it requires some knowledge of HTML and the structure of files/folders that iWeb has created on your iDisk.

  • How do I delete photos from iPod Touch?  Some photos do not have the trash basket option!

How do I delete photos from iPod Touch?  Some photos do not have the trash basket option!
When I first synced my iPod Touch with my laptop, it uploaded a lot of photos onto the iPod.  I now wish to delete those but it does not seem as a straight forward option!

For photos synced to the iPod you have to unsync them:
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

  • How can I see or transfer my old photos from my iOS 6 iPod Touch to the 'Years, Collections, Moments' in my iOS 8 iPhone 5S?

How can I see or transfer my old photos from my iOS 6 iPod Touch to the 'Years, Collections, Moments' in my iOS 8 iPhone 5S?
For example, my mom's 'Years, Collections, Moments' in her iPhone 6 has pictures from her old iPhones, even her 3GS

    Greetings Yushk,
It seems you would like to transfer photos from your previous device to your iPhone 5S. I have linked to an article which may help you. You can transfer those photos to a Mac or PC, then sync them to your new device:
Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support
After you import your photos from your iOS device or Saved Photos, you can use iTunes to sync them back to your device.

  • How do i delete old playlists from my ipod nano

How do I delete old playlists from my ipod nano?

    Hi Willowmet1,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can use these steps to delete a playlist from an iPod nano (7th generation):
    Delete a playlist:
1  On the Home screen, tap Music > Playlists.
2  Flick down, then tap Edit.
3  Tap next to the playlist you want to delete, then tap Delete when it appears next to the playlist.  If you tapped the wrong playlist, tap the one you want to remove.
4  Tap Delete, or tap Cancel if you change your mind.
5  When you finish, flick up, then tap Done (or swipe right to return to the Home screen if you cancel).
You can find more information and steps for other iPod nano models in the user guides found here:

  • Transfering photos from ipod to computer?

    Hello!
i used to sync my photos in ipod with my computer. But my computer crashed and i had to change a new computer.
Then, i realised that i can't transfer the photos that are already in my ipod to my new computer. The photos in ipod are in a file format that can't be opened (photo database).
Does that mean that my photos are stuck in the ipod forever? i can't view them with the computer and i can't sync photos with the new computer as i was warned that the old photos in my ipod will be deleted.
    Can anyone help? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for replying my question!
i saw in a post about "crashed computer" and found out that someone downloaded an application from http://www.mediafour.com/products/xplaypb/ and managed to transfer photos from ipod to computer. i downloaded it, but i still do not know how to do it.. sigh

  • How do I delete old photo's that has been transferred to my Iphone a year ago not by itunes?

When i switched to iphone the old photos from my BB are transferred to my iphone, not by itunes, through another method which i don't remember.
but now that i want to delete them but it does not give me the option. the albums are camera and pictures. the only options it gives me are mail twitter facebook or flicker, copy slideshow print etc
I really want to delete those pics because they are about 1000 pics which i don't want anymore.
    Please help me.

Jailbreaking cannot be reliably undone - even if you're only eleven.
Note also, that jailbreaking is not to be discussed in these discussions. Don't be surprised if your post gets removed.
You should also note that the Apple's Terms of Use require that you need to be at least 13 years of age to post here.

  • Removing old photos from iPhoto to external HD but not the library

Hi I have just purchased a new external HD.  I already have one which is used with Time Machine for backing up my mac.  My problem is the mac HD is not that big and my extrenal with time machine is also getting full and after reading around I discovered that it will start to erase old backups to replace with new ones.  My problem with this is that I have used Time MAchine as a way of storing home movies and films exteranally as they take up to much space and therefore are no longer on the mac itself.  I bought a new disk so that rather than being a backup i can simply store files there and when needed plug it in if i want to use them ie videos old photos etc.
I currently have smart albums set up in iPhoto for each year so photos automatically drop into these depending on when they were taken.
I would like to move the older albums straight to an external and delete from my mac.  How do I go about this as deleting the smart folder wont delete the originals and can I drag a smart folder to an external drive?  If not how do I find photos taken by year move them across to the external and delete the original.
    Thanks

    Hello there MrCoates14,
You are correct, deleting the photos from the Smart Album will not remove the originals from the computer, and based on what else you want to do with iPhoto, heres what I recommend.
First you can export the photos in the Smart Album to an external drive, as outlined in this article iPhoto '11: Export a photo found here http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2438. Note: At step 1, you want to highlight ALL the photos in the album, not just 1.
    To export photos:
Select the photo or photos you want to export.
    Choose File > Export.
At the top of the Export Photos window, click the File Export button.
To specify the file type for the exported photo, choose an option from the Kind pop-up menu:Original: Exports the photo as it was originally imported into iPhoto, before editing.Current: Exports the photo in its current format. If you imported a RAW-format photo and then edited it in iPhoto, the photo is exported as a JPEG file.JPEG: If you choose this format, choose an option from the JPEG Quality pop-up menu. The higher the quality, the bigger the photo. For example, if the photo will be used on a website where optimal quality for printing isn’t required, you could choose Low to save storage space on the website.TIFF: A lossless file format that works well for transferring photos between computers and applications.PNG: Another lossless file format popular for web images.
To change the size (resolution), choose an option from the Size pop-up menu:
For photos to be emailed or mainly viewed onscreen, these settings compress the photos (making them smaller):
Small: Use for photos you email or publish to websites where you don’t expect anyone to download and print your photos.
Medium: Use when you or your recipients have a reasonably fast Internet connection, such as DSL. This setting is not suitable for making prints.
Large: Use this setting when you and your recipients have a very fast connection. This size can be used to print small to standard-size photos (2 by 3, 3 by 5, and 4 by 6 inches).
For photos to be printed or published for download, these settings provide maximum detail for final prints:
Optimized: Use for larger prints and for publishing photos to websites for others to download and print. With this setting, photos are slightly compressed to a smaller file size so that they download faster without compromising quality.
Actual Size/Full Size: Use to make high-quality prints in small to large sizes, or to upload photos to websites so that others can download and print them. This setting matches the actual size of your photo, so it may take longer to upload or download.
Specify your other options:Include checkboxes: If you choose JPEG or TIFF from the Kind pop-up menu, you can include titles, keywords, and location information with the exported photos by selecting the checkboxes.File Name: Choose whether to export photos in sequence, or by their filenames, iPhoto titles, or album name.Prefix for sequential: If you choose Sequential from the File Name pop-up menu, you can specify text to appear before each number (for example, Birthday01, Birthday02, and so on). This step is optional.
    Click Export.
Choose where to save the exported photo files, and then click OK.
Then when they are all exported you can Create a New Event from the photos in each album to group them all together in Events, so that when you delete the new event with all the photos in the album in it, they will be deleted from the library. Here is the article for that named iPhoto '11: Create a new Event found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2364.
You also have the option to iPhoto '11: Move your iPhoto library to a new location if you just want to move the entire library to the external drive and use the library from the drive directly: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2506
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • I wanna delete my photos from my laptop but i don't know how?

see here i wanted to move some of my photos to my laptop then when i it sync it seems that it move some of my photos from my laptop to my iphone now when i looked in my photos my photos from my laptop were there but i was trying to delete it cannot be deleted. i just wanna delete my photos (from laptop)

If you're talking about music and movies an i-device was not designed for unique storage of media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing music and movies is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred from a device to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
