Deleted photo icon remains behind...?

So, I delete a photo within iPhoto5 and empty the trash. The photo is gone and all seems fine within iPhoto. However, if I navigate using PSE3 browser, OR the Finder, the JPEG is still in the original location, but, clicking on the empty icon reveals that there is nothing to open. The file size is zero MB, but the icon where the photo was is still there. Why does the icon remain? Anybody know what’s up with that? Thanks.

  • Deleting Photos icon

Hi, I have deleted Photos icon ...(no comments), anyone knows how to get it back on screen? Thank you!

You can't delete the photo icon since it is one put there by Apple. Go into Settings > General > Restrictions and see if you have the camera set to disabled. If you haven't enabled restrictions, the icon is most likely hiding on another page.

  • Lightroom 4 collections deleted - photo dupes remain

Hi chaps - I have been messing around with the web module and have created several 'collections' to test out several ideas, LR has created duplicates for all of the separate collections, I have now got to the stage where I have decided what to do so want to delete all of the duplications in "All Photographs" but I thought if I deleted the 'collection' the associated duplicates would be removed but they are still there, I would prefer not to have to go through them all manually .... any advice please ?
    Regards Roger

Thanks Jon ... here's a link to a screen grab:

As you can see the first image is associated with 'Chistchurch' the second 'Christchurch View' the third and fourth have had the'r 'collections' deleted though these dupes remain ?

  • I still don't totally understand the difference on my iPhone between PhotoStream (with iCloud icon), Photos (the icon) and Albums and Camera Roll (under Photos icon) and and Camera Roll (under Camera icon).  I want to delete photos from my iPhone 4.

I  don’t  understand the difference on my iPhone between PhotoStream (with iCloud icon), Photos (the icon) and Albums and Camera Roll (under Photos icon) and and Camera Roll (under Camera icon).  They seem to be more or less the same thing, but deleting photos in one place does not delete them elsewhere.
When I tried to import from my camera to my iMac computer the computer would not recognized 900 of the 920 photos on the camera so I had to (successfully) use the Image Capture application to import them.
I want to delete photos from my iPhone 4 in order to free up storage (I only have 8GB.)  But in synching I do not want to delete any images from my iPhoto on my computer.
Is there a way that I can Delete All under Edit in either Photos or Camera on my iPhone and check about 20 ijmages to remain on the iPhone?  I could find no command to Select All and then uncheck the 20 photos I want to keep.
I have the 8GB iPhone and the iMac with OS 10.9.2 and iPhoto '09 Version 8.1.2.
    Help!

I have Version 6.1.3 because the clogged storage will not allow me to upload Version 7.1.  Catch 22.  This is basically a storage issue, I believe.  I cannot delete enough stuff on my iPhone to allow me to either back up or upload the new OS 7.  I am unwilling to pay for more storage in iCloud, so I want to delete stuff I don't need.  But I haven't yet figured out how to successfully do that.  I synch my phone and computer.  I want to delete mail on the Mail app and photos and still keep my photos on my computer on iPhoto, but not on my phone.  I seem unable to do that.  Any advice?

  • I want to delete photos that I have backed up from my computer, but when I go to select there is a faded trash can icon which I cant access

If you copied the photos in question to your iPhone by connecting to itunes on your computer you need to do this again. Start itunes on your computer, connect your iPhone, select your iPhone in itunes and select the photos tab. as long as you are connecting with the same computer you should see, in the Photos TSB, a list of the photo albums on your computer. Those that were synced previously have a check mark and are selected. Deselect those you no longer want on the phone and then click on Apply or Sync. The deselected albums will be deleted from your iPhone but they will remain on your computer.
if you only want to remove a few specific photos from various albums on your iphone, then move those photos out of the albums they are in on your computer. Then sync with iTunes. The photos you removed from the albums on your computer will be deleted from the albums on your iPhone when you click on Apply or Sync.

  • How do I delete photos and photo albums from my iPhone? The instructions given do not work. No "delete" symbol appears next to the album name, and no trash can icon appears below most of the pictures the computer just put on my new iPhone 4.

How do I delete photos and photo albums from my iPhone 4? The instructions given do not work. No "delete" symbol appears next to the album name when I press "Edit," and no trash can icon for me to click appears below most of the individual photos in the albums the computer just loaded on my new iPhone 4. When I synced the new phone the computer added these photo albums without permission from me. They are now taking up about 3 GB of memory on my phone. I would like very much to get rid of these photos from the phone. How do I do this?

To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

  • I deleted my Photos icon in pictures?

I backed up all of my photos to an external hard drive. I then deleted all of my photos on my Mac. I must have deleted the Photo's icon and cannot get iCloud photos up and running. How do I reinstall this? The reason that I did this was that I wanted to initiate iCloud storage without having to upgrade the amount of storage that I needed. I was thinking that I would store all of my photos on backup and then bring only the ones that I wanted back onto Mac to stay under the 20g storage limit.
I am currently bringing all of the contents from my photos folder from a backup from Time Machine that occurred yesterday. I am hoping that this is all that is needed to be done. Any suggestions?
P.S. I tried just bringing the "Photos" icon from my HD back up into Pictures on my Mac and that did not work.
    Thanks.

All, I have apparently resolved this after performing the backup of all of my picture files from my Time Machine backup. The Photos program is currently "repairing."

  • Deleted the photo icon in error

whilst rearranging the icons on the home page,  inadventally deleted the "PHOTO" icon - query - how to reinstate it.

You can't delete the Photo icon as its a preinstalled app.  Have you checked to see if it's been moved to another screen or in a folder. Try searching for it also. You could also try a home screen layout settings>general>reset>reset home screen layout.

They will be backed up only until you backup again. iCloud is not a storage drive in the sky, it is a backup service only. If you delete the photos and videos from the camera roll, and then you backup the iPad with iCloud, you will overwrite that backup and the photos will be gone.
Import the photos to your computer if they are that important to you. iCloud is for backup only, not a storage place that you can download your photos from again once you overwrite that backup.

  • Where is the trash icon to delete photos?

The just-published iPad Portable Genius book by Paul McFedries clearly states: To delete a photo, follow these steps: 1. Tap Photos in the Home screen. The Photo app appears. 2. Locate the Image you want to blow away. For example, if you know the photo is part of a particular event, open that event stack. 3. Tap the doomed photo. The Photos app opens the photo. 4. Tap the screen to reveal the controls. 5. Tape the Delete button (the trash can icon). The Photos app asks you to confirm the deletion. 6. Tap Delete Photo. The Photos app tosses the photo into the trash, wipes its hands, and returns you to the photos.
My problem is that the trash icon doesn't appear on the screen! It appeared one time a few days ago, so perhaps a downloaded app is causing the glitch. Any ideas, anyone? Thank you so much.

Photos created on the iPad or detached from emails (for example) can be deleted via a trashcan icon. But photos synced from iTunes have to be deleted from the synced albums (and not directly from the pad)

  • When I touch the "photos" icon on my 4th gen iPod Touch, I get a page entitled "Albums" - it's white, with many lines.  At the very top of the screen, almost shadowed behind the word "albums" I can see the thumbnail of my album.  But I can't access it.

I need help viewing my photos on my 4th gen iPod Touch.  When I choose the "photos" icon, I get a screen called "albums".  At the top of the screen, sort of shadowed behind the word "albums" I can see a thumbnail of where my pictures are.  What can I do to get back my "old" view of my pictures?
    Thanks.

Bring up the Multitask bar by double clicking on the home button, search for the photo app icon, tap on it until it starts to shake, hit the minus icon in the left corner to close the app.
Close the task bar again and start the photo app again, this time it should work.
