the area on the bottom surrounding the mouse sensor, anyone find a good way of cleaning that? everything i've tried leaves marks or is ineffective....
this was the result of my attempt to clean it looked worse
even bought a "micro-fiber" lens cleaning sheet...bought a few actually--different brands. didn't really help.

Here is an HP document about Updating Windows 8 to 8.1 to check to make sure you're not missing anything when you're updating.
And here is a set of instructions from Microsoft to Update to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8.
If you still have issues, perhaps the exact error message would help.

Intended for Windows Desktop section. Skype crashes upon login and I get a "Skype has stopped working." message. It started after my Win7 computer got a BSOD while skyping someone. First time I uninstalled Skype and reinstalled which got it working. The second time trying to open it though the error came back and uninstalling/reinstalling is not working. I have uninstalled, deleted the Skype appdata folder, removed all of the Skype registry keys, restarted, then reinstalled only to get the same error. Below is the error message I keep getting in the Event Viewer. Have spent several hours researching this and trying to fix it with no success. When you open Maps touch the search bar and on the resulting screen you'll see Favorites. Touch Favorites and in that resulting screen you'll see a Clear button at the top. Then click Done to return to the map.

Unhandled Win32 Exception -PLEASE IGNORE Posted in wrong section

I am trying to launch the Essbase Integration Server Console. But, each time I try I am getting a an "Unhandled Win32 Exception occured in olapbldr.exe (6352)" I am running Windows XP SP2 plus updates and Hyperion BI v9.3.
Has anyone seen this error and have any ideas how to get the ISC to launch?

If you are installing Crystal Reports XI on Windows 2003 SP1 or Windows XP SP2, then I would suggest you to turn off DEP on your machine and then perform the steps mentioned above.
I would like to share the following information for proper installation of Crystal Reports XI on Windows XP SP2 and Windows 2003 Server machines:
Please note that DEP - Data Execution Prevention has been introduced in Windows 2003 SP1 and XP sp2. DEP prevents Crystal Reports from accessing the memory. By default DEP is turned on in W2K3/SP1 and XP/SP2. If the processor supports DEP, Crystal Reports will not run on these platforms. If DEP is not supported CR will run even on W2K3/SP1 and XP/SP2. Disabling DEP allows Crystal Reports to run in Windows 2003 Server with SP1 and XPu201D.
I would suggest you to try the following steps:
1. Log in as u2018Computer Administratoru2019
2. Make sure that no anti-virus program or spy ware is running on your machine.
3. Right click on u201CMy Computeru201D and select u201CPropertiesu201D.
4. Click on u201CAdvancedu201D Tab and click on u201CSettingsu201D button in u201CPerformanceu201D frame.
5. Click on u201CData Execution Preventionu201D tab. Click on the second option button.
6. Click on u201CAddu201D button and select C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11\crw32.exe
7. Click on u201COKu201D button.

I am using Oracle Reports 6i and Oracle Forms 6i
I'm experiencing an issue when calling a report from a oracle form.
After log in and run a form I trigger the run_product(); function, it will open the report window and prompt the user connect window every time.
This was not happening before, but I did reinstalled and reconfigured the oracle Database which is an Oracle 10g, after that this issue rised up.
Probably I messed up something in the instalation but I have no clue what was that.
I'll appreciate a lot your help.

Go to payment tab while MIRO, Give the payment terms or delete the payment terms.
Now if u post as Invoice Gross - Document Type....system will ignore the discount and it will be come to effect at the time of payment.
if u take as Invoice -NET, System Will consider those discount at time of MIRO.

Going by watt rating is bad thing to do as cheaper PSUs give high watt ratings yet don't provide the amps needed on the +12 volt rail. Look for a PSU in the 450 watt range that has a single +12V rail that has around 30A for +12V. Try to avoide multi rail PSU. You will be looking at something in $80-$90 US price range for a good one.
Yes you are correct that is nvidea chipset on that MB.

How to delete the Other yellow section in Storage

I had about 190 GB of Other which suddenly appeared a while ago. I was able to control it a little through OmniDiskSweeper, OnyX and cleaning/optimizing for a while (I have a late 2011 MBP kept pretty clean and never had this Other stuff before). But still, despite the cleaning, I had about 180 GB and it never went any lower than that...
Then I realized I'd never (apart from OnyX telling me the disk status had to be fixed) repaired the HD/permissions. I thought it may be due to that, so I used the Disk Utily application to verify and repair both permission and HD, came out permissions were all messed up and the HD itself had issues too. As soon as it was repaired the Other was gone.
This is just to help all of those people who have been wondering/trying, with no success, to delete/reduce the Other section in their HD storage. Because I'd never read anywhere that the solution could be to just run Disk Utility. I don't know if it works for everyone, if I was just lucky, no idea... But it did the thing for me! I can finally transfer all of my audio back from the external mobile HD I was forced to purchase a while ago.

I am having an issue in PS CS6 (on a Mac) where in the middle of working on a file, it gets corrupted by filling in a grid of squares in my layer masks as well as deleting out those same sections of misc layers throughout the file. I have reset the preferences, cleaned up the file. Renamed it to another file and 2 weeks later it is doing the same thing. Luckily I had my main subjects as smart objects and it saved them. This second time I just closed it out and opened it again and it is fine. Anybody else have an issue with this? Also it runs really slow these days on my MacBook Pro Retina 2.6 Core i7 with 16gb Ram.

Sorry that you had this problem.
The software coupons are pretty much useless unless Apple says they are worth something for a very specific reason. In your case they will be worthless.
You do not tell us much about your iMac, but as you have 512-768M of RAM, 10-15% free Hard Drive space, and a 733-1GHz processor I would recommend that you Upgrade to Tiger. Be sure to read the iLife '06 System Requirements and Notes for your own edification.
Tiger can be purchased at AppleRescue for $79.00.
You can install it over iLife '06 using an Archive and Install. Software update will bring you to the latest version of Tiger.
I will mention this last, but it really should be your first step...backup your important files.
